life and property. As the operator is
the #1 safety device on all types of
vehicles or equipment, it is important
that the operator read, learn and know
all safety recommendaons for this
product. The user is responsible to his
family, friends and co-workers to
operate in a safe manner. Ensure that
everyone who operates or assists in
the operaon or maintenance of this
product read and understand all the
elements required to safely operate
this piece of equipment.
This aachment has spinning blades
that include addional dangers.
Throughout this manual you will find
safety notes which are very important
to read and understand before
operang this piece of equipment.
These classificaons alert you to
situaons that could be harmful to you
or bystanders. When you see these
alerts in the manual, carefully read and
follow all instrucons and also protect
other workers from the same danger.

Before raising, lowering or
swinging the cuer, make sure area is
clear of bystanders or objects.
Machinery parts somemes have
sharp edges. Wear work gloves when
moving parts. Always use cauon
around cuer blades as they oen are
very sharp.
Never use drugs or alcoholic
drinks when operang or servicing this
piece of equipment.
Always wear the proper personal
protecon equipment when servicing
or operang this piece of equipment.
Never service or operate this
aachment with bare feet, sandals, or
other light footwear.
Always use eye protecon during
operaon. Mount this aachment on a
skid steer equipped with thermoplasc
polycarbonate door panel and side
panels.
Speed Kills! Operate this
implement at a safe working speed.
When transporng the implement,
keep a safe speed to avoid losing
control of the aachment or prime
mover.
Keep proper clearance between
the implement and objects (tree
stumps, large rocks, buildings, etc.).
Contacng these objects with the
implement or prime mover could
cause a loss of control or damage to
the implement.
Before each operaon of this
implement, check all hardware (bolts,
nuts, pins, coer pins, etc.) for their
proper locaon and ghtness.
Stop the engine on the skid steer
and set the brake to avoid the
implement rolling forward or
backwards while you are exing the
prime mover.
Store this implement in an area
not frequented by children.
Allow no riders on this
aachment. Keep all bystanders clear
of aachment during operaon.
Always replace worn, torn or
missing safety decals before operang.
Never operate the cuer when
bystanders are within 300 feet of the
work area.

baery. Do not smoke near the baery
as baery vapors could ignite.
Skid Steer
Requirements
The swing boom cuer should only be
used on 70+ HP skid steers with a li
capacity of at least 1800 lbs. and with a
weight of at least 6500# with the
bucket removed. A skid steer equipped
with tracks will provide superior
stability in this applicaon.
You will install the electrical joysck
that accompanies this aachment or
your skid steer must be equipped with
an auxiliary electrical opon with an
electrical connector mounted on the
machine’s loader li arm from the skid
steer manufacturer. In order to
complete the connecon, the mang
connector on the loader arm needs to
match the connector from the
aachment. Refer to the electrical
drawing on page 19 of this manual.
A 12 V power
source coming directly from the
baery or from some other circuit
that is energized all the me could
result in Death or Serious Injury if the
aachment control switch is
accidentally bumped when the
operator is entering or exing the skid
steer with the engine running.
California
Proposion 65 Warning! Baery
posts, terminals, and related
accessories contain lead and lead
components, chemicals known to the
State of California to cause cancer and
reproducve harm. Wash hands aer
handling.
Always refer to
the polarity symbols printed on the
top of the baery. Refer to the
markings on the baery to determine
the locaon of the negave (-) cable.
If the baery cables are to be
removed from the baery, always
remove the negave cable first and
reinstall the negave cable last.
DO NOT smoke
around a baery, or use anything that
produces an open flame or spark to
avoid an explosion that could result in
Death or Serious Injury.
The 12V power source for this
aachment should be connected into
the skid steer’s Operator Presence
System that cuts the electrical power
to the aachment shi valves if the
operator safety restraint bar is raised
or the seat switch is disengaged when
the operator raises from the seat.
Consult with your local skid steer
dealer for assistance.
When using the provided joysck,
route the electrical harness up to the
pivot point of the loader arm and e it
with plasc cable es to the inside of
the loader arm to prevent snagging the
harness with branches. Aer installing
harness, check that the harness is free
from any tension when raising and
lowering the loader arm through its
complete cycle.

on the inside of loader arm
To protect the operator from any flying
debris, it is important that the skid
steer is equipped with a thermoplasc
polycarbonate windshield or similar

material, and similar protecon on the
right side of the operator’s cab.
Make sure your
skid steer is in good working
condion. Follow the operang
instrucons found in the manual that
accompanied your skid steer. Failure
to do so could result in Minor or
Serious Injury.
Unpacking Your
Shipment
Your aachment arrives from the
factory banded to a wooden pallet,
and requires no final assembly.
Careless
removal of the shipping bands that
secure the implement to the pallet
could result in Minor or Serious Injury.
Clear the area of all bystanders and
stand to the side when cung the
bands with a pair of sheet metal
shears.
Using YourImplement
Connecng Cuer to
Skid Steer
Never enter the
area underneath the coupler or any
part of the aachment when it is in
the raised posion to avoid an
accident that will result in Death or
Serious Injury.
Verify that the hydraulic hoses and the
wire harness are clear from the front
of the aaching plate on the
aachment and that the mounng
plate is free from dirt and debris.
When clear, move the skid steer to
proximity of aachment plate. Tilt skid
steer coupler forward to align coupling
point with the upper part on the
aachment plate and raise the coupler
slightly.
Connecng Coupler to Aachment
When the top edge of the coupler is
seated in the top part of the coupler
plate, roll the skid steer lt funcon
back unl the aaching plate is flat
against the skid steer coupler. Lock
down the coupler levers.
Wipe offany dirt
or dust from the male or female
hydraulic flat-face couplers with a
clean rag before aaching hoses, to
keep contaminants from entering the
hydraulic system.
Connect the cuer hydraulic hoses to
the auxiliary circuit connectors on the
skid steer. Connect the electrical
harness to the appropriate connector
on the skid steer.
Check the surrounding area for
bystanders and clear them before
starng the skid steer or aachment.
Before operang the aachment,
always visually inspect and verify that
the coupler lock pins are fully engaged
through the latch slots on the
aachment plate.

Cuer Boom Controls
The joysck control can be easily
aached to the leg of the operator
using the Velcro straps provided.
Always turn the
engine “off” and remove the joysck
controller from your leg before exing
the skid steer cab to avoid unwanted
machine or aachment movement
that could cause Death or Serious
Injury.
In order to swing or lt the cuer
head, the auxiliary hydraulics to the
cuer drive must be turned on.
During operaon
you may noce that the cuer speed
slows down a lile while you are
acvang the swing or cuer deck
lt. When you have completed
swinging the boom or lng the
cuer deck, the cuer will resume to
its normal rotaon speed.
Engaging Cuer Drive
the First Time
If this is your
inial startup with this aachment on
this machine, check the skid steer’s
hydraulic oil level and add oil, if
necessary, before and aer doing
steps 1- 6 below.
Aer starng skid steer, lithe
aachment 36” (915mm) offthe
ground surface:
1. With the skid steer engine RPMs
just above idle, engage the
auxiliary hydraulic flow to the
cuer head. Use your machine’s
“Boom Swing” electric switch to
rotate cuer boom to the right.
Stop when the cuer has rotated
90°.
2. Rotate the cuer head back to
the straight-ahead posion.
3. Rotate the “Cuer Tilt” using the
electric control switch unl the
cuer hits the stop.
4. Tilt cuer head in the opposite
direcon unl it hits its stop.
5. Return cuer head to the level
posion and the cuer boom to
the straighorward posion.
Allow the cuer to run for 30
seconds to purge the air from the
system. Turn offthe cuer drive,
allowing it to come to a complete
stop.
6. Lower the cuer aachment to
the ground and shut offthe skid
steer’s engine and exit the
operator’s compartment.
7. Check the skid steers hydraulic oil
level, and add oil if necessary.
8. Inspect the cuer hydraulic
plumbing for any noceable leaks.
Correct these leaks before
connuing.
9. Restart the skid steer. With the
aachment raised offthe ground and
the engine throle set just above idle,
engage the cuer drive circuit to start
cuer. Allow cuer to come up to
speed before increasing engine speed.
Starng the Cuer
Moving or
engaging the cuer with bystanders
in the area could result in Death or
Serious Injury. Before engaging cuer
hydraulics, always make sure the area
is clear of bystanders.
Engage the cuer drive hydraulics with
the prime mover’s engine at a low
rpm. Slowly raise the skid steer
engine’s rpm to the correct and
desired cuer speed. Use the skid
steers throle to set the speed; never
use a foot throle when using the
cuer.

If the cuer
creates a vibraon when ramping up
speed, turn the cuer aachment to
the offposion and invesgate cause.

Stopping the Cuer
When stopping the cuer, raise the
cuer slightly and lower the skid
steer’s engine RPMs to an idle, and
allow the cuer to slow down. Aer
the cuer has slowed down you may
turn the auxiliary hydraulics to the
“off” posion.
Getng Familiar with
the Aachment
Never operate the
cuer when bystanders are within
300’ of your work area. Flying debris
could result in Death or Serious Injury.
Be cauous when
operang on un-level ground
surfaces. A machine roll over could
result in Minor or Serious Injury.
Always wear your seat belt when
operang this aachment.
Before starng the skid steer engine
with this cuer aached, make sure
you are knowledgeable and
comfortable with the operaon of the
brush cuer controls as outlined in the
previous and following secons of this
manual.
Do not over-speed
the cuer by allowing more than 20
GPM to the cuer head. This
aachment requires 14-20 gallons of
flow to cut efficiently.
When operang the cuer, set the skid
steer throle at a speed that will
produce the required flow. Refer to
your skid steer manual or call your
local skid steer dealer for addional
help, if necessary. Your skid steer
dealer can measure the flow available
on your machine and recommend a
throle seng that is compable with
this aachment.
To begin with, learn what the cuer
head looks like in a level cung
posion when you are seated in the
skid steer. Knowing what a level cuer
head looks like will help you avoid
damage to the cung blades by
cung too close to the ground
surface.
Rotate the boom 90° to the right and
learn what the level posion looks like
when cung offto the side of the skid
steer. Roll out the skid steer’s lt
cylinder and noce how it affects the
cuer head.
The correct ground speed for cung
with this aachment can be monitored
by sound and feel and depends on the
material density. If the skid steer
engine is bogging down or if the cuer
speed is turning too slow because of
too much load, the ground speed
should be decreased.
Listen and feel for any strange
vibration when working the cuer. A
bad vibraon felt when cung could
indicate a damaged cung blade, or
material trying to be cut at too fast a
pace. Slow down the skid steers
ground speed to see if vibraon stops.
If it does not, stop the cuer, turn off
the skid steer engine and invesgate
cause of vibraon. Refer to the
Troubleshoong secon in this manual
for further instrucons.
Always be aware of your surroundings.
When the cuer is swung 90°, the
operator has a much larger path to

keep aware of. While watching the
cuer, also pay aenon to what
obstacles or terrain are in front of the
cuer boom and prime mover.
Maintain a safe speed while cung.
Cung brush and
tree branches with the cuer in an
elevated posion could result in Death
or Serious Injury if the skid steer
becomes unstable. Never raise the
cuer more a few feet offthe ground
when working on slopes or uneven
terrain.
Adjusng Cuer Height
& Level
Use the skid steer loader li to adjust
the elevaon of the cuer. The fore &
a leveling can be accomplished by
using a combinaon of the tool
cylinder mounted on the boom and the
skid steer’s aachment lt cylinders.
When the cuer is at the 0° posion
(straight in front of skid steer) the tool
cylinder on the boom can be moved to
level the deck.
When the cuer is at the 90° posion,
it can be leveled by using the tool
cylinder connected to the aachment,
as well as slight variaons in the skid
steer lt cylinders.

Swinging Cuer
To prevent
Serious Injury or Death from pinching,
keep all persons and objects away
from this aachment while it is
operang.
Your swing boom cuer has the
capability of rotang 90° to the right of
the skid steers mounng point, or
stopping anywhere between 0° and
90°.
Before swinging the boom to the right
or back to center make sure there are
no objects in the way that could hinder
the movement of the boom swing.

joysck right or lefor the boom
swing funcon. To lt the cuer,
move the joysck forward or back to
adjust the deck.

Operator’s view with cuer swung 90°
With the boom
swung at 90°, make sure you are
aware of any obstacles directly in
front of the skid steer or in front of
boom, when moving the skid steer.
Use care when
operang on uneven terrain or any
type of sloped surface. Keep your
cuer low to the ground when
working in these condions to avoid a
roll over that could result in Minor or
Serious Injury.
Determine a safe cung paern
before swinging the boom and cuer.
Stop the forward progress of the skid
steer loader unl the boom is swung to
the desired posion unl you are fully
familiar with the movement of the
aachment.
Before Cung
Inspect the area to be cut and make
sure it is free of any ulies, rocks,
fence posts, or any other objects that
you do not want to cut or that would
damage the cuer.
Do not enter into an area to be cut
before the cuer rotaon come up to
the operang speed.
Cung Tips
Never operate
this aachment when bystanders are
in proximity of the work area that
could result in Minor or Serious Injury
from flying debris.
1. Always inspect work area before
starng the cuer. Locate and
mark any ulies, steel posts,
rocks or any other objects that
could be damaged or would
damage the cuer during
operaon. Never assume the
work area is safe and never skip
the inspecon part before start of
operaon.
2. Operate at a safe slow-paced
speed that will allow you to watch
the area ahead of the skid steer
and also ahead of the boom and
cuer when the cuer is swung
away from the straight-ahead
posion.
3. Make sure you are operang the
skid steer’s engine at an rpm that
will produce the volume of oil
flow required for this aachment.
4. If the cuer speed slows down,
reduced your travel speed and
allow cuer to reach the proper
rotang speed. Mowing too fast
in thick material could result in
balling of material underneath the
cuer deck resulng in a loss of
cung efficiency.
5. Never use your cuer to push,
pull, lior move any type of
object or vehicle. Do not use this
aachment to “push” down trees.
6. Always allow cuer to come up to
operang speed before moving
aachment into the material you
want to cut.
7. If material constantly is balling
underneath cuer deck, try lng
the leading edge of the cuer to
be about 1” lower than the rear of

the cuer. This should allow a
more efficient material flow
under the cuer deck.
8. Use the v-notch in the top of the
cuer deck to capture small trees
(up to 3” (76mm) for cung.
Using V-Cut in deck for small trees
Vercal Cung
Your Swing Boom Cuer has the
capability to cut vercally to widen
pathways, roadways, or along the edge
of a crop field to allow access for
tractors and combines.
Vercal cung
can disperse debris over a large area.
To avoid an accident that could result
in Death or Serious Injury, do not
operate the cuer when bystanders
are within 300’ (91m).
To avoid Minor or
Serious Injury, never swing the cuer
boom past the side pping capacity of
your skid steer when the cuer is in
the raised and vercal posion. Know
the capability of your machine and
noce the terrain you are working on.
Raise the skid steer loader arm and lt
the cuer head to the vercal posion.
Swing the boom to the right to access
the area to be cut. Raise and lower the
skid steer’s li to trim back over-
hanging branches.

Maintaining your
Aachment
Blade Removal &
Replacement
Cuer blades
can be very sharp and could cause
Minor or Serious Injury if mishandled.
Always wear protecve gloves and
footwear.
Plan your removal of the cuer blades
around the vicinity of an overhead
hoist. Posion the cuer aachment
with cuer deck in the vercal posion
so you can access the blade and holder
bracket.
Blades & Holder
Sling the holder from the hoist and
remove the 6 x ¾” bolts from the
center of the blade holder. Lower the
holder to the floor or to a suitable
work surface.
Use a cung torch to remove the head
of the blade mounng bolt, and drive
the bolt sha out of the blade holder
end.

Install the new or sharpened blade into
posion and secure the blade with a
new bolt, bushing spacer & nut, and
apply red thread lock to the bolt
threads. Torque hardware to 3100 lb-
(4200 Nm) using a torque mulplier.
Weld the center of the bolt to the
inside diameter of the nut mounted in
the hex slot on the back of the holder.
Weld O.D. of bolt shank to I.D of hex nut
Repeat this procedure on the other
blade end before installing the holder
back on the aachment. Install new
hardware to secure the holder to
cuer drive. Torque the six (6) blade
holder bolts to a minimum of 600 lb-
(813 Nm).
Always service
(sharpen or replace) the blades as a
set. Never run cuer with unmatched
blades.
Not
maintaining your implement correctly
could result in Minor or Serious Injury.
Keep your implement in top operang
condion.
Before Every Use
Check that all fasteners (nuts, bolts,
pins, keepers) are in their right place
and are ght.
Inspect and replace any worn, torn or
missing safety decals.
Pump No. 2 lithium or molybdenum
disulfide grease into all required areas
unl you see old grease is being
flushed out.
Invesgate the locaon of any oil leaks
and repair.
Aer every use, clean offany dirt
residue with a garden hose and repeat
grease applicaon.
Every Week
Check the condion of the blades by
raising the cuer aachment offthe
ground and lt the aachment back to
the 90° posion. Lower the aachment
to the ground.
Inspect the cuer blades and remove
and sharpen them if necessary. Sharp
cuer blades will cut more efficiently
than dull blades.
Aer Every Season
Inspect the implement for any loose or
worn parts that may need to be
replaced prior to the next cung
season.
Visually inspect the cung blades.
Sharpen or replace them, if necessary.
Clean, sand & repaint any area that
looks worn or scratched to prevent
further rusng. Use an equipment-
paint found at your local hardware
store or building center.
Lubricate all pivot joints. If located in
an area near an ocean or other
corrosive condions, apply a thin layer
of grease to any exposed cylinder rod
surfaces. Wipe grease from cylinder
rods with a clean rag when taking the
aachment out of storage.
Store your implement in a shed or
cover with a water-proof tarp to

protect it from the weather. Store in
an area not frequented by children.

Limited Warranty
Carolina Aachments, LLC, a manufacturer of quality skid steer aachments offers a 1
year limited warranty on all of our aachments. Excluding economy series aachments.
Carolina Aachments, LLC liability for any defect with respect to accepted goods shall be
limited to repairing the goods at Carolina Aachments, LLC locaon or replacing them as
Carolina Aachments, LLC shall elect. The above shall be in accordance with Carolina
Aachments, LLC adjustment policies. Carolina Aachments, LLC obligaon shall
terminate twelve (12) months aer the delivery of the aachment to original purchaser.
This warranty shall not apply to any machine or aachment which shall have been
repaired or altered outside Carolina Aachments, LLC. It will be Carolina Aachments,
LLC judgment, to affect its stability or reliability, nor which has been misuse, negligence
or accident beyond the manufacturer recommended machine rated capacity. If you have
any quesons in regards to this limited warranty please contact Carolina Aachments, LLC.
Warranty Claim
To submit a warranty claim, authorizaon from Carolina Aachments, LLC must be
obtained. This warranty does not include freight or delivery charges incurred when
returning aachment for servicing. Pickup/delivery charges are the customer's
responsibility.
Exclusions of Warranty
Except as otherwise expressly stated herein, Carolina Aachments, LLC makes no
representaon or warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, AND MAKES NO
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY IN RESPECT TO IF ATTACHMENTS ARE FIT FOR ANY
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Carolina Aachments, LLC is not liable for any inconvenience,
rental or replacement equipment, loss of profits or other commercial loss. Buyer assumes
all liability for all personal injury and property resulted from the handling, possession or
use of the aachment by the buyer.
