Setting the Magnification (Connecting Method)
High-Magnification Macro Lens
SE-18 Series Operating Manual
Thank you for purchasing a SE-18 series High-magnification macro lens. To
properly use the product and take full advantage functionality, read this operating
manual before using the product. After reading the operating manual, store it in a
safe and readily accessible location.
Read this operating manual before attempting to use the product.
The SE-18 series is a high-resolution, bright macro lens with an NA of
0.053 on the object side, and its working distance is 109 mm or more.
Therefore, it ensures high performance for a wide range of applications.
The SE-18 lineup includes straight and coaxial types, each of which
provides a magnification of x2, x4, or x6. A full set of the SE-18 series
used with straight and coaxial lens units with the barrel ring changed
makes it possible to select a magnification of x2, x4, or x6 according to the
usage environment and application.
Note:
The lineup also includes the SE-16 Series Low-magnification Macro Lenses (x0.5,
x1, and x2).
Features
Application Precautions
A magnification of x8.73 (with a WD of 108 mm) can be achieved by
assembling x6 set (SM6/VM6) and x4 ring in combination. This
magnification, however, is outside of the performance range because the
brightness and resolution of the lenses are lowered.
Also be careful not to touch the lens during operation, as fingerprints or
other contamination can adversely affect the optical performance of the
lens.

1. Connect each lens unit with the C mount and x4 or x6 ring according to
the target magnification.
2. Attach the assembled lens to the C mount of the Camera.
Note:
If the portion of coaxial illumination is in a position that is difficult to handle, loosen
the two M3 hex-head screws located around the C mount ring to rotate the portion
and set it in a more convenient position.
A 5-, 10-, or 20-mm close-up ring to change the magnification in finer steps.
