1. General rules PCI40-100
To prevent possible injury, read, understand and follow all warnings, safety precautions
and instructions before using the equipment.
Call your distributor if you have any questions
1.1.Safety Precautions
Define the cutting area with a special shield and if possible reserve it for cutting/welding only.
Protect the body with an appropriate working outfit ( helmet for welding, gloves, rubber boots,
etc.)
The working outfit must be tight as much as possible without pockets.
Use an air-supplied respirator if ventilation is not adequate to remove all fumes and gases.
1.2.Elektric safety rules
Never touch any parts that are electrically “live”
Wear dry gloves and clothing.
Insulate yourself from the work piece or other parts of the welding circuit.
Repair or replace all worn or damaged parts.
Extra care must be taken when the workplace is moist or damp.
Be sure that the machine is properly grounded to prevent electric shocks.
Never roll up the torch and the ground cables on the body.
Never operate in wet areas without taking precautions.
Never operate whith the cover taken off to prevent any damage on the machine and yourself.
1.3.Fire and explosion
Be sure that in the cutting area a fire extinguisher is provided and verify its efficiency periodically.
Be sure there is no combustible or flammable material in the workplace. Any material that cannot
be removed must be protected.
Adapt all necessary safety rules in case of cutting to any containers of lubricating and fuel
materials.

1.4. Personal Protection
Eye protection
During the cutting activity it is necessary to use filter glasses according DIN 4647. The protection must be
proportionate to the intensity of the excited U.V.-light.
Head protection
While cutting it is necessary to protect the head
Body protection
To protect the body enough against whirling about glowing metal pieces, wear a thick, fire-resisting
coat.
After cutting it is dangerous to look at the glowing work.
The glowing metal still dispatches harmful U.V. and I.R. light.
Cutting / Welding causes U.V. radiation.
It is recommendable to provide yourself with adequate protection measures.

Installation
2.1.Place
Select for the cutting machine a clean, dry location, where a good ventilation is available. The power
supply is air cooled and air flow must not be obstructed. Provide at least 50cm of clearance.
2.2.Electrical Connection
DANGEROUS VOLTAGE! ONLY TRAINED PERSONNEL CAN CONNECT YOUR MACHINE!
PCi40 BOM
The PCi 40 is designed for a one-phase outlet
230V / 50 Hz. The electrical power source must
conform to local electric code with adapted
circuit
protection. Connect the electrical ground wire
(yellow-green) to the earth lug then connect the
two wires to the line voltage L1 and N. If doubt
seek advice.

The PCi 100 is designed for a three-phase outlet
400Vac / 50 Hz. The electrical power source
must conform to local electric code with
adapted
circuit protection. Connect the electrical ground
wire (yellow-green) to the earth lug then
connect
the three-phase wires to the line voltage L1, L2
and L3. If doubt seek advice.

Algemene regels
Laswerkzaamheden kunnen ernstige gevolgen hebben voor de gezondheid van de lasser en personen in
de nabije omgeving.
Gelieve enkele fundamentele regels in acht te nemen om werkongevallen te vermijden.
Bakent het werkgebied af met een speciaal scherm en gebruik deze plaats dan enkel ook voor het
lassen.
Bescherm het lichaam met speciale werkkledij (laskap, handschoenen, rubberen laarzen, enz.). De
werkkledij moet nauwsluitend zijn en er mogen geen zakken in zitten.
Draag degelijke schoenen om voldoende geïsoleerd te zijn.
Vermijd rookgassen door gebruik te maken van zuiver metaal dat niet roestig of behandeld
geweest is.
Het gebruik van een speciale afzuigkap is aanbevolen om schadelijke rookgassen af te voeren.
1.1. Elektrische veiligheidsregels
Vermijdt het gebruik van beschadigde kabels en zorg voor een goede aarding van de stroombron
om elektrocutie gevaar te vermijden.
Rol nooit de toorts en de aardings kabels op rond het toestel.
Werk nooit in vochtige ruimtes zonder de nodige voorzorgsmaatregelen te nemen.
Werk nooit wanneer het deksel van de stroombron verwijderd is om schade aan het toestel en
jezelf te vermijden.
1.2. Regels i.v.m. brandveiligheid
Zorg dat in het lasgebied een operationeel brandblusapparaat aanwezig is.
Zorg dat het lastoestel horizontaal staat en controleer of er voldoende ventilatieruimte rondom
het toestel aanwezig is.
Neemt kennis van alle nodige veiligheidsregels bij het lassen aan tanks en brandbare materialen.

1.3. Eigen veiligheid
Oogbescherming
Het is noodzakelijk tijdens het lassen gebruik te maken van filterglazen overeenkomstig DIN 4647. De
bescherming moet evenredig zijn met de intensiteit van het geëxciteerde U.V. licht.
Hoofdbescherming
Bij het lassen dient men het gezicht te beschermen met een lasscherm, die het gelaat voldoende afdekt.
(DIN 4655)
Lichaamsbescherming
Om het lichaam voldoende te beschermen tegen rondspattende gloeiende metaaldeeltjes dient men
een dikke, vuurvaste kledij te dragen.
Na het lassen is het gevaarlijk onbeschermd naar de gloeiende las te kijken. Het gloeiend metaal
zendt nog altijd schadelijke UV en IR licht uit.
Om het lichaam voldoende te beschermen tegen rondspattende gloeiende metaaldeeltjes dient
men een dikke, vuurvaste kledij te dragen.

2. Installatie en bediening
PCi40 BOM
De elektrische verbinding komt tot
stand met een kabel samengesteld uit 2
lijnkabels voor de voeding en 1 voor de
aarding (geel/groen). De
voedingsspanning bedraagt 230V.
Nooit aansluiten op een driefasig 400V
spanningsnet om onherstelbare schade
te vermijden!

SNIJDEN
A. Verbind de massakabel met de PLUSpool en het werkstuk
B. Sluit de perslucht aan achteraan het toestel (5-6 bar). De perslucht moet vrij zijn van water
verontreinigingen, dit om slechte snijkwaliteit te vermijden. Tevens heeft dit aanleiding tot grote
slijtage van de wisselstukken of tot complete beschadiging van de toorts.
C. Stel de stroom in volgens dikte en snelheid van het te snijden stuk
