Congratulations and thank you for buying a GPRS wireless PC Modem.
GPRS wireless PC modems enable laptop users to have mobile access to the Internet or
corporate network with flexibility and high speed, including ‘always online’ capability via
GPRS. The GPRS PC modem is very simple to install and use; the software provided allows
you to select the best data service available so that the GPRS PC modem is always available
for data transfer.
Guidelines for Safe and Efficient Use
Please read this information before using your wireless PC modem.
Recommendations
• Always treat your product with care and keep it in a clean and dust-free place.
• Do not expose your product to liquid or moisture or humidity.
• Do not expose your product to extreme high or low temperatures.
• Do not expose your product to open flames or lit tobacco products.
• Do not drop, throw or try to bend your product.
• Do not paint your product.
• Do not use your product near medical equipment without requesting permission.
• Do not use your product when in, or around aircraft, or areas posted “turn off two-way radio”.
• Do not use your product in an area where a potentially explosive atmosphere exists.
• Do not place your product or install wireless equipment in the area above your car’s air bag.
• Do not attempt to disassemble your product. Only authorized personnel should perform
service.

Personal Medical Devices
GPRS PC Modems may affect the operation of cardiac pacemakers and other implanted
equipment.
If a minimum distance of 15 cm (6 inches) is kept between the GPRS PC Modem and the
pacemaker, the risk of interference is limited. If you have any reason to suspect that interference
is taking place, immediately turn off your GPRS PC Modem. Contact your cardiologist for more
information. For other medical devices, please consult the manufacturer of the device.
Children
DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY WITH YOUR GPRS PC MODEM.THEY COULD
HURT THEMSELVES OR OTHERS, OR COULD ACCIDENTALLY DAMAGE THE GPRS PC

System requirement
This section lists the network subscriptions, hardware and software requirements for running
the Wireless PC Modem.
Network and Subscription
The network subscription you use in conjunction with your GPRS PC modem depends on the
functions and features your network operator can provide. Contact your network operator or
service provider to make sure the options you require are available. Make sure that data options
are included in your subscription, as these are usually optional services.
Hardware Requirement
• A PC that has the minimum specification recommended by Microsoft to run the version
of Windows ® installed on it. (64Mb RAM or above)
• A PC with USB slot.
• A GPRS wireless PC Modem.
• A SIM card.
Software Requirement
• Windows ® 2000 (SP2) or XP or 2003.
• Wireless Manager CD-ROM.
SIM Card
Please contact MOBILE operator to request SIM Card service. If your SIM card has been set the
PIN Code, please cancel it first.
Installation
The Wireless Manager CD-ROM contains the software required to operate your GPRS PC
Modem. The software is simple to set up and operate, but before you begin you will need to
make sure that the services you require are included on you SIM card subscription. Contact the
organization that supplied you with your SIM card and request that the specific services (GPRS)
you require are added to your subscription.
GPRS Wireless PC Modem Hardware Set Up
1. Collect your GPRS PC Modem, antenna and SIM card together.
2. Insert your SIM card into the slot on the back of GPRS PC Modem.
Note:
The cut corner of the SIM card must be placed into the PC Modem as demonstrated below,
the gold contacts should face downwards.

To remove the GPRS PC Modem as instructed in Safe Removal of the GPRS PC Modem.
When the GPRS PC Modem isn't in use it is recommended that you store it in the protective
carrier box provided. The unit, especially the antenna could be damaged if it remains in PC.
Important!
Do not insert the Modem into the laptop until you have installed the software from the CD-ROM.
Simply cancel the New Hardware wizard if the card is accidentally inserted prior to software installation.
Click “Setup.exe” icon, follow downward:
The System will detect and auto-run driver software, and remind you to choose an available
language, relative interface shown as below
After choosing the language, wait for seconds…
Then click “Next”

Click “Browse” button to choose the available destination folder, then click “Next” ：
Note: If you are reminded “has not passed Windows Logo testing, click “Continue Anyway”,

Then click “Finish” to finish the installation.
When the installation is completed, a shortcut shown as “GPRS609 2.0”will be list on your
desktop.
Hardware Set up
After completing the installation of the software, plug GPRS Modem into laptop PC:

Uninstalling the software
Click “Start” --“Programs”--"Data Card" click “Uninstall GPRS609 USB MODEM”. You will
see as below:
