Digital Recorder - Instructional Guide
Warning: The Chino AH4000 comes equipped with a SD card reader, which can be used to
save charts in digital format, or save or load settings. Follow instructions on the recorder on
how to insert the SD card. Removing the SD improperly will cause data corruption. Please take
care.
To insert the SD card
1. Insert the card with the label facing
down
2. When the SD card is inserted the
Card status LED will flash while an
error check is preformed
3. After the test, the LED will stay solid
green and it is safe to use the card
To remove the SD card
4. Press
5. Using the arrow keys, highlight SD
CARD
6. Press
7. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Remove
8. Press
9. Press
10. The SD card is now safe to remove
To start recording paper chart
1. Press
2. It will ask, “Start Recording?”
3. Press
To start recording to SD card
1. Ensure that SD is inserted
2. Press
3. Press
4. Press
5. Data is now being written to the SD
card

Display Options
There are several display options
01CH –Displays single channel on screen
01CH + BAR –Displays single channel on screen with info bar
06CH –Displays six channels on screen
12CH –Displays twelve channels on screen
24CH –Displays twenty-four channels on screen
To change display
1. Press
2. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Display
3. Press to enter Display
settings
4. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Display Mode
5. Press to change setting
6. Using the arrow keys, change to
desired setting
7. Press to set change
8. Using the arrow keys, highlight Set
9. Press to save changes
Auto/Constant display setting
Auto display changes the displayed channel
or group of channels automatically.
Constant display will lock the current
channel or group of channels to the display
To switch between auto and constant
1. Ensure you are on the main view
screen
2. Press to cycle between the
two settings
a. If changing from constant to
auto an “A” will be displayed
on the left
b. If changing from auto to
constant the “A” will be
hidden

To remove a channel
Removing a channel from the AH4000 has
changed from the AH3000. Instead of
removing the channel, you now just stop
the recording for that certain channel.
Follow these instructions.
1. Press
2. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Range
3. Press to enter Range
settings
4. Select the channel to remove and
press
5. Using the arrow keys, highlight Rec
6. Press to change setting
7. Press down to change to OFF
8. Press to set change
9. Using the arrow keys, highlight DIGI
REC
10. Press to change setting
11. Press down to change to OFF
12. Press to set change
13. Using the arrow keys, highlight SD-
CARD. REC
14. Press to change setting
15. Press down to change to OFF
16. Press to set change
17. Using the arrow keys, highlight Set
18. Press to save changes
To add a channel
The opposite of removing a channel, adding
a channel is just turning recording for that
channel back on. Follow these instructions.
1. Press
2. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Range
3. Press to enter Range
settings
4. Select the channel to add and press
5. Using the arrow keys, highlight Rec
6. Press to change setting
7. Press down to change to ON
8. Press to set change
9. Using the arrow keys, highlight DIGI
REC
10. Press to change setting
11. Press down to change to ON
12. Press to set change
13. Using the arrow keys, highlight SD-
CARD. REC
14. Press to change setting
15. Press down to change to ON
16. Press to set change
17. Using the arrow keys, highlight Set
18. Press to save changes

Copy channel settings
Copying channel settings can save time. It
works by taking the data from the source
channel and copying it to the first
destination channel. By entering a second
destination channel, the data will be copied
to all channels in between.
1. Press
2. Using the arrow keys, highlight
Range
3. Press to enter Range
settings
4. Press to enter copy menu
5. Using the arrows and tick all
settings needed to be copied
6. Using the arrow keys highlight, Src.
CH
7. Press to change setting
8. Using the arrow keys, enter the
source channel number (the channel
the settings will be copied from) i.e.
01
9. Press to set change
10. Using the arrow keys, highlight the
first Dest. CH box
11. Press to change setting
12. Using the arrow keys, enter the first
channel to be copied to (the channel
the settings will be copied to) i.e. 02
13. Press to set change
14. Using the arrow keys, highlight the
second Dest. CH box
15. Press to change setting
16. Using the arrow keys, enter the
second channel to be copied to (the
channel the settings will be copied
to) i.e. 12
17. Press to set change
18. Using the arrow keys, highlight Copy
19. Press to copy
Digital Recording Settings
The Chino AH4000 recorder supports recording data directly to a SD card in addition to the
analog recording. It can recorder both digitally and analog at the same time or separately. The
type of digital recorder must be set in order to properly process the data afterwards.
1. Press
2. Using the arrow keys, highlight SD
CARD
3. Press to enter SD Card menu
4. Press to enter SD Card
settings
5. Highlight Format
6. Press to change setting
oSet to BINARY for use with
the Chino Report Maker or
Excel
oSet to TEXT to only use with
Excel
7. Press to set the change
