Welcome
At Chunc, safety is paramount in the
product’s design, development and
manufacture. Misuse and adverse
environments can lead to potentially
hazardous situations that could result
in injury or even death. It is therefore
essential that the Chunc user manual and
this manual are read prior to performing
maintenance on a Chunc wheelbase/
wheelchair and kept for reference.
At Chunc we also believe in continuous
improvement. If you have any questions
or comments about our customer service,
product literature or products we would
be pleased to receive them. This manual
can be downloaded from www.chunc.
com
Maintenance Philosophy
Chunc wheelchairs and accessories are of
modular design and can be maintained
using basic tooling as detailed in section
‘tools’. If a fault has been identied and
is beyond repair by adjusting the tting,
the part or parts must be replaced to
maintain the product warranty.
The tting or modication of any Chunc
Component, whether repair, adjustment
or maintenance must be carried out by
Chunc approved engineers, health care
professionals or appointed NHS repairers.
Failure to comply with these instructions
may invalidate the warranty and
endanger the occupant and attendant.
If at any time you suspect a fault or
any of the equipment is damaged or
behaves erratically or you are uncertain
of the wheelchair’s performance it should
not be used until it has been checked by
your Chunc Representative or appointed
NHS repairer.
As required Maintenance
All maintenance, aside from that detailed
below is to be performed as required.
Scheduled Maintenance
Your Chunc product requires periodic
maintenance in order for it to function
correctly and safely. Before transferring
the user, an inspection should be made of
the wheelchair, ensuring all required parts
are xed securely in position, and in good
working order.
Occupant safety
• Never leave an occupied Chunc
wheelchair unattended.
• Never exceed the wheelchair’s
occupant weight limit, or maximum
load capacity, or use for any purpose
outside the manufacturers instructions.
Postural Management
• Chunc wheelchairs are Class 1 medical
devices and must not be used to seat
any person without prior consultation
of a qualied health care professional.
• A qualied health care professional
should be present when tting or
adjusting the Chunc wheelchair and
accessories to an occupant.
• The occupant’s seating posture and
the positioning of adjustable parts
and accessories should be monitored
closely and adjusted as directed by a
health care professional in accordance
with the instructions in this manual.
• Ensure harnesses are tted to the
manufacturer’s instructions and their
adjustment monitored closely.
• Any adjustments should be as directed
by a health care professional and in
accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Cleaning
All Chunc upholstered parts must be
cleaned following the care label stitched
into the cover. They can be cleaned using
water and commercially available fabric
washing detergents and non-toxic soap
(neutral soap). The padding inside the
upholstery should not be cleaned with
any liquid; only lightly brush to refresh
the surface. Always ensure all mating
Velcro parts are pressed together prior
to washing. Exposed hooked Velcro can
cause damage to items in a wash cycle.
The armrests are covered with closed cell
foam. They can be wiped clean using a
damp cloth. We do not recommend the
use of detergents on these parts.
The wheelchair frame is constructed
from high quality engineering materials
including powder-coated aluminum,
nylon composite moldings and stainless
steel fasteners. It can be cleaned using
water and commercially available
household detergents and non-toxic
soap (neutral soap). Before cleaning the
wheelchair, all upholstery, including the
armrests should be removed. It may
be necessary to use a brush or cloth
to remove embedded dirt or remove
deposits from sheltered areas. Do not
pressure wash or direct hosed water at
bearings.
Safety note: Failure to comply with
these washing instructions may result
in the reduction of performance of your
product. Over a prolonged period this
could constitute a safety hazard.
Extended life, re-use, recycling
and disposal.
Your product is designed and
manufactured with high quality materials
and components, which can be recycled
and reused. When the wheelchair’s life
can be prolonged no further, it can be
easily dismantled into its respective
material groups. Approximately 90% of
the wheel-chair by weight is recyclable.
Consider the environment when
disposing of your old product. Ensure it
is recycled where applicable by giving it
to a recycling organization at the end of
its life.
Product warranty and
disclaimer
UK, Europe, Rest of World (excluding USA)
The warranty period is 24 months, with
the exception of Chunc modications
which are warranted for 12 months
from the date of delivery from the
manufacturers. Any defect found within

without charge by the manufacturer.
However, the warranty is dependent
on the product having been used,
handled, stored, maintained, installed
and operated in accordance with sound
practice, including any instructions issued
by the manufacturer. Any misuse or
unauthorized alterations will invalidate
this warranty.
The manufacture is not responsible for
any modications made by any third
party. Any individual who is to operate or
maintain this wheelchair must have read
the user and maintenance manual in its
entirety. In the event of any breach of
the Manufacturer’s warranty (whether by
reason of defective materials, production
faults or otherwise) the Manufacturer’s
liability shall be limited to the
replacement of the Products in question
or at the Manufacturer’s discretion,
repayment of the purchase price (where
this has been paid).

These instructions provide important information for the safe use and main-
tenance of all Bodypoint pelvic support belts. Give these instructions to the user or
their caregiver and review them to ensure that they are understood.
WARNING!
Product should be installed and fitted by a qualified rehab technician.
USE:
WARNING!
This product should only be used for positioning a person in a
wheelchair. It is NOT intended for use as a transportation safety device, as a personal
restraint device, or in any other application where its failure could result in injury.
Misuse of this product is unauthorized and unsafe.
WARNING!
This pelvic support belt must be worn tightly fitted across the lower
pelvis or thighs at all times. A loose belt can allow the user to slip down and create a
risk of strangulation. Have your seating specialist demonstrate its proper adjustment
and use. (Note: Four-point belts may safely be worn across the upper pelvis if second-
ary straps are anchored to prevent change in position.)
WARNING!
Accidental release of this pelvic support belt can allow the user to slip
down or fall from the wheelchair. If the user’s movements or cognitive abilities could
lead to accidental release, a caregiver must be present at all times during its use.
Ensure that all caregivers know how to unfasten the product. Failure to do so may
delay release in an emergency.
WARNING!
As with any new seating support, this product may change the way a
person sits. Users must continue to practice regular pressure relief activities and skin
integrity checks, not only where this product contacts the user, but also in primary
pressure-bearing areas such as the sacrum, legs, and buttocks. If increased skin red-
ness or irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your physician or seating special-
ist. Failure to do so may result in serious injury, such as pressure ulcers.
MAINTENANCE:
Check periodically for signs of wear in the stitching, webbing, and
pads. If significant wear is found, contact your supplier for qualified repair or replace-
ment by Bodypoint. Under no circumstance should this product be altered or repaired
by unqualified persons–health and safety depend on it!

CLEANING:
Machine wash, warm, 40°C (100°F). Do not bleach.

cloth bag during washing helps prevent scratches to the product and the machine.)

INSTALLATION
For padded pelvic support belts, keep
the adjustment straps tightened so the
pads touch. For non-padded pelvic
support belts, pull 5-6” webbing
through the buckle.
INSTALLATION
Dans le cas de ceintures de soutien
rembourrées, conserver les sangles
de réglage serrées de sorte que
les coussinets se touchent. Avec les
ceintures de soutien non rembourrées,
tirer 13 à 15 cm de sangle à travers
la boucle.
INSTALACIÓN
Para cinturones de soporte pélvico
acolchados, mantenga las correas de
ajuste apretadas para que se toquen
las almohadillas. Para cinturones de
soporte no pélvico, pase el cincho de
5-6” por la hebilla.
ADJUSTMENT
When properly adjusted and the belt
tightened, it should fit snug so that the
user’s pelvis is secure. On padded
belts, tighten the D-ring pull until all
slack is removed and the pads under
the buckle are touching. If length
adjustment is necessary to achieve
a good fit or to remove the belt for
cleaning, this can be done using the
belt end fittings.
REGLAGE
AJUSTE
Cuando el cinturón esté ajustado y
apretado, debería estar fijado de
tal modo que proteja la pelvis del
usuario. En cinturones acolchados,
apriete el D-ring hasta que todo esté
bien tensado y las almohadillas de
debajo de la hebilla es toquen. Si
hay que ajustar la longitud para
conseguir que el cinturón encaje
correctamente o hay que sacarlo
para limpiarlo, esto puede hacerse
utilizando los accesorios del extremo
del cinturón.
SAFETY CHECK
When properly positioned in wheel-
chair, have user lean forward and
side to side to check fit.
Check for:
1. Normal operation of buckle and
adjustment straps.
2. Comfort – Look for areas of
irritation.
3. Position – If too high or too low,
adjust anchor points.
4. Interference with other devices –
Relocate anchor points as
necessary.
5. Move chair through full range of
motion, including tilt, folding, and
rolling. Check for any interference.
CONTROLE DE SECURITE
Demander à l’utilisateur, correctement
installé dans son fauteuil roulant, de
se pencher en avant et latéralement
d’un côté et de l’autre pour vérifier
l’ajustement.
Contrôler :
1. Bon fonctionnement des boucles et
des sangles de réglage.
2. Confort – Rechercher des zones
d’irritation éventuelle.
3. Position – Si trop haut ou trop bas,
régler les points d’appui
4. Interférence avec d’autres
dispositifs – Déplacer les points
d’appui comme il convient.
5. Faire décrire au fauteuil toute sa
gamme de mouvements : incliner,
replier et rouler. S’assurer qu’il n’y
a pas d’interférence.
COMPROBACIÓN DE SEGU-
RIDAD
Cuando el usuario esté sentado en la
silla de ruedas, haga que se incline
hacia delante y a los lados para
comprobar cómo encaja el cinturón.
Compruebe:
1. El funcionamiento normal de la
hebilla y las correas de ajuste.
2. Comodidad – Busque zonas de
irritación.
3. Posición – Si es demasiado alta o
demasiado baja, ajuste los puntos
de fijación.
4. Interferencia con otros aparatos–
Vuelva a colocar los puntos de
fijación si es necesario.
5. Compruebe los movimientos de
la silla en todas las direcciones,
incluyendo su inclinación, plegado
y giro. Compruebe si hay alguna
interferencia.
