Important Safety Instructions
When using your telephone equipment, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk
of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including the
following:
• Readandunderstandallinstructions.

• Unplugthisproductfromthewalloutletbeforecleaning.

• Donotusethistelephonetoreportagasleakinthe
 vicinityoftheleak.
• Useonlythepowercordandbatteriesindicatedinthis
 manual.Donotdisposeofbatteriesinare.Theymay
 explode.Checkwithlocalcodesforpossiblespecial
 disposalinstructions.
Safety Instructions for Batteries
Caution:Riskofexplosionifbatteryisreplacedbyan
incorrecttype.Disposeofusedbatteriesaccordingto
theinstructions.
1. Useonlytwo(2)AAAalkalinebatteriesin 
 yourneckloop.
2.Donotdisposeofthebatteryinareasitmayexplode.
 Checkwithlocalcodesforpossiblespecialdisposal
 instructions.
3.Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Released 
 electrolyteiscorrosiveandmaycausedamagetothe
 eyesandskin.Itmaybetoxicifswallowed.
4.Exercisecareinhandlingbatteriesinordernottoshort
the battery with conducting materials such as rings,
 braceletsandkeys.Thebatteryorconductionmaterial
 mayover-heatandcauseburns.

Battery Installation
1. Installthetwo(2)AAAbatteries
in the battery compartment as
 indicatedin(Fig1).
2.Closebyslidingbatterydoorand
 snappingintoplace.
3.Insertscrewtosecure.
Battery Life
Thebatterylifewilldependuponusageandvolumelevels.
Thelifeofthebatteriesshouldlastupto30to40hours
beforeneedingreplaced.
Volume Control
TheCE30providesupto30dBofamplication.The
volumeiscontrolledbythepower/volumediallocatedon
topoftheneckloop.
To Make or Receive a Call
1. Placenecklooparoundneckbyconnectingthequick
 disconnect.Besurethatthequickdisconnectisclosed
 securelyinorderfortheCE30toworkproperly.
2.Connectthe2.5mmplugintoatelephone’s
 2.5mmheadsetjack.
3.Turnyourhearingaidto“MT”or“T”mode.
4.Whileunitisaroundneck,turnthePower/Volume
 dialtotheleftforpowertoturnON.ThegreenLED
 willappear.
5.MakeorReceiveacallusingthetelephone.(Foryour
 telephone’soperation,pleaseseeitsuserguide)
6.TheCE30featuresabuilt-inmicrophone,allowingfor
 hands-freecommunicationwhenpluggedintoa2.5mm
 headsetjack.
7.Adjustthevolumetodesiredlevelusingthedialontop
 ofunit.Note:Thevolumeonthetelephonemayalso
 needtobeadjusted.
8.Whencalliscomplete,turndialoffandunplugthe
 adapterfromtelephone.
9. Pleaseresetthehearingaidifneeded.
Important:Ifyourtelephonedoesnothavea2.5mm
jackanadaptermaybeneeded.Checkwithyour
telephone’smanufacturer.

TheCE30comeswitha3.5mmadapter.Thisallows
theusertousetheneckloopwitha3.5audioequipped
telephone,CDplayer,MP3playeroranyotherdevicethat
containsan8-16Ohmaudiooutputthrougha3.5mmjack.

1. ThisequipmentcomplieswithPart68oftheFCCRules.
On the back of this equipment is a label that contains,
 amongotherinformation,theFCCregistrationnumber
 andRingerEquivalenceNumber(REN)forthis 
 equipment.Ifrequested,providethisinformationto
 yourtelephonecompany.
2.TheregistrationjackUSOCfortheequipmentisRJ11C.
3.AnFCCcomplianttelephonecordandmodularplug
 isprovidedwiththisequipment.Thisequipmentis
designed to be connected to the telephone network
or premises wiring using a compatible modular jack
 whichisPart68compliant.Seeinstallationinstructions
 fordetails.
4.TheRENisusefultodeterminethequantityofdevices
 thatmaybeconnectedtothetelephoneline.Excessive
 RENsonthetelephonelinemayresultinthedevices
 notringinginresponsetoanincomingcall.Inmost,but
 notallareas,thesumofRENsofalldevicesshouldnot

 exceedve(5).Tobecertainofthenumberofdevices
that may be connected to a line, as determined by the
 totalRENs,contactthelocaltelephonecompany.
5.Ifyourtelephoneequipmentcausesharmtothe 
telephone network, the telephone company will
 notifyyouinadvancethattemporarydiscontinuance
 ofservicemayberequired.Butifadvancenoticeisn’t
 practical,youwillbenotiedassoonaspossible.You
 willbeadvisedofyourrighttoleacomplaintwiththe
 FCCifyoubelieveitisnecessary.
6.Yourtelephonecompanymaymakechangesinits
facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures that
 couldaffecttheoperationofyourequipment.Iftheydo,
 youwillbegivenadvancenoticesoastogiveyouan
 opportunitytomaintainuninterruptedservice.
7.Ifyouexperiencetroublewiththisequipment,please
 contactClarityCustomerServiceDepartmentat
 1-800-426-3738forrepair/warrantyinformation.Ifyour
equipment is causing harm to the telephone network,
the telephone company may request that you disconnect
 theequipmentuntiltheproblemisresolved.
8.Thisequipmentmaynotbeusedonpubliccoinservice
 providedbythetelephonecompany.Connectionto
 partylinesissubjecttostatetariffs.(Contactyourstate
public utility commission or corporation commission
 forinformation.)This equipment complies with
Industry Canada CS03.
TheLoadNumberoftheequipmentis20.Thestandard
connectingarrangementcodefortheequipmentisCA11A.

labelidentiescertiedequipment.Thiscerticationmeans
that the equipment meets certain telecommunications

Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it
is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the local
telecommunicationscompany.Theequipmentmustalsobe

singlelineindividualservicemaybeextendedbymeansofa
certiedconnectorassembly(telephoneextensioncord).
Thecustomershouldbeawarethatcompliancewiththe
aboveconditionsmaynotpreventdegradationofservicein
somesituations.
Repairstocertiedequipmentshouldbemadebyan
authorizedCanadianmaintenancefacilitydesignatedbythe
supplier.Anyrepairsoralterationsmadebytheuserto
thisequipment,orequipmentmalfunctions,maygivethe
telecommunications company cause to request the user
disconnecttheequipment.Usersshouldensurefortheir
own protection that the electrical ground connections
of the power utility, telephone lines and internal metallic
waterpipesystem,ifpresent,areconnectedtogether.This
precautionmaybeparticularlyimportantinruralareas.
Caution:Usersshouldnotattempttomakesuch
connectionsthemselves,butshouldcontacttheappropriate
electricinspectionauthority,orelectrician,asappropriate.
TheLoadNumber(LN)assignedtoeachterminaldevice
denotes the percentage of total load to be connected to
atelephoneloopwhichisusedbythedevicetoprevent
overloading.Theterminationonaloopmayconsistofany
combinationofdevicessubjectonlytotherequirementthat
thetotaloftheloadnumbersofallthedevicesdoesnot
exceed100.

Thefollowingwarrantyandserviceinformationappliesonly
toproductspurchasedandusedintheU.S.andCanada.
ForwarrantyinformationInothercountries,pleasecontact

Limited Warranty
Clarity,adivisionofPlantronics,Inc.(“Clarity”)warrants
totheoriginalconsumerPurchaserthat,exceptfor
limitationsandexclusionssetforthbelow,thisproduct
shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship
foraperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateoforiginal
purchase(“WarrantyPeriod”).Theobligationof
Clarityunderthiswarrantyshallbelimitedtorepairor
replacement,atClarity’soption,withoutcharge,ofany
partorunitthatprovestobedefectiveinmaterialor
workmanshipduringtheWarrantyPeriod.
Exclusions from Warranty
Thiswarrantyappliesonlytodefectsinfactorymaterials
andfactoryworkmanship.Anyconditioncausedby
accident,abuse,misuseorimproperoperation,violationof
instructionsfurnishedbyClarity,destructionoralteration,
improperelectricalvoltagesorcurrents,orrepairor
maintenanceattemptedbyanyoneotherthanClarityor
anauthorizedservicecenter,isnotadefectcoveredby
thiswarranty.Telephonecompaniesmanufacturedifferent
typesofequipmentandClaritydoesnotwarrantthatits
equipment is compatible with the equipment of a particular
phonecompany.
Implied Warranties
Understatelaw,youmaybeentitledtothebenetof
certainimpliedwarranties.Theseimpliedwarrantieswill
continueinforceonlyduringthewarrantyperiod.Some
states do allow limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts,sotheabovelimitationmaynotapplytoyou.
Incidental or Consequential Damages
NeitherClaritynoryourretaildealerorsellingdistributors
has any responsibility for any incidental or consequential
damages including without limitation, commercial loss or
prot,orforanyincidentalexpenses,expenses,lossof
time,orinconvenience.Somestatesdonotallowexclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damage, so the
abovelimitationorexclusionmaynotapplytoyou.
Other Legal Rights
Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrightsandyoumay
alsohaveotherrightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
