INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this CLARKE product.
Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and
follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself
and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase
giving you long and satisfactory service.
GUARANTEE
This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12
months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be
required as proof of purchase.
This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or
tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was
intended.
Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can
be returned to us without prior permission.
This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not dispose of this product with general household waste. All
tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a
recycling centre and disposed of according to the laws governing
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
1. Although the unit is water resistant and may be used outdoors, DO NOT
leave it exposed to the elements. Avoid direct sunlight, direct heat, rain/
moisture etc. The power pack must only be used indoors or completely
protected from the rain. This also applies to any device being powered
by the power pack.
2. Do not operate the jumpstart if any of the cables are damaged. Consult
your Clarke dealer for repair or replacement of the parts.
3. Do not operate the unit if the case is damaged. Consult your Clarke
dealer or a qualified person for inspection and repair.
4. To prevent the battery from overheating and consequent damage, do
not exceed our recommendations for the duration of jump starting.
5. The unit is NOT designed to be used as a replacement for a vehicle
battery.
6. NEVER allow the battery to become completely discharged.
7. NEVER jump start the engine whilst the unit is being charged.
8. NEVER attempt any repairs yourself. If you have a problem with the unit
contact your local CLARKE dealer.
9. Always keep your body and clothing dry. Never work in a damp area
without adequate insulation against electric shock.
10. Always store the unit out of reach of children.
11. Always wear safety glasses when working with lead acid batteries.
12. If splashed by battery acid, immediately flush the area of the splash with
clean water. If a burning sensation is felt or any blistering occurs, seek
medical help.
13. If battery acid comes into contact with the eyes, flush the eyes with clean
water continuously and seek medical help.
14. Always ensure that there is air circulating around the unit when in use.
WARNING: ALL LEAD ACID BATTERIES GENERATE HYDROGEN GAS
DURING NORMAL OPERATION. THIS PROCESS INCREASES DURING A
PERIOD OF RAPID DISCHARGE, SUCH AS WHEN USING FOR
JUMPSTARTING.
WARNING: HYDROGEN GAS AND BATTERY ACID (SULPHURIC ACID) CAN
BE EXPLOSIVE, CORROSIVE TO SKIN, EYES AND HAIR, DAMAGING TO
CLOTHING AND METALS, FLAMMABLE, POISONOUS TO BREATHE.

15. Never allow the jumpstart leads on this unit, to touch each other or to
touch the same metal object.
16. Ensure the vehicle battery posts and battery clamps are perfectly clean
before use.
17. Connect the red clamp to the unearthed battery terminal first, (this is
usually the positive (+ve) terminal and painted RED); then connect the
black clamp to the earthed battery terminal, (this is usually the negative (-
ve) terminal and painted BLACK).
18. ALWAYS wear suitable protective clothing and eye protection when
working with lead acid batteries.
19. NEVER allow the cables to become wrapped around the operator or any
other person.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
This product is provided with a 13 amp, 230 volt (50Hz), charging adaptor for
connection to a standard, domestic electrical supply. a 12V charging lead is
also supplied
This appliance is of double insulated design. No earth conductor is provided.
If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt any electrical
repairs yourself.

CHARGING THE POWER PACK
You can charge your power pack using
either:
• The mains charger (A).
• The cigar lighter adapter (B).
1. Switch the power pack off.
2. Plug the mains charger or cigar
lighter adapter into the charger
input socket.
3. Connect the other end to either
the mains supply or cigar lighter
socket.
• If using the cigar lighter
adapter, start the engine first.
• The display will show the current charge percentage and the word
‘IN’.
4. When the display shows 100% disconnect the charger.
TO ENSURE MAXIMUM LIFE FROM THE BATTERY.
• Charge this unit before using it for the first time.
• Recharge after every use if possible, and thereafter, once every
three months.
• Never leave the unit in a state of discharge.

OPERATION
USING THE WORKLIGHT
1. Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON
position.
2. Press and hold the push button for
3 seconds to turn the worklight on.
3. Press the push button again.
• The worklight will flash using the
morse code SOS pattern.
4. Press the push button again.
• The worklight will flash on and
off.
5. Press the push button again to turn the worklight off.
USING THE USB POWER SUPPLY
• This will supply a maximum of 2.1A at 5V.
1. Insert the USB cable into one of
the USB sockets on the side of the
power pack.
2. Plug the other end of the cable
into your device.
3. Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON
position.
4. Press the Push button once to start
charging.
• The display shows the percentage left in the power pack.

USING THE DC POWER SUPPLY
SELECT THE VOLTAGE
1. Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON
position.
2. Press the push button repeatly
until the required voltage is shown
in blue on the top of the display.
• Select from 12V, 16V, or 19 V.
CONNECTIONS
1. Insert the yellow tip of the small fly
lead into the power pack.
2. Fit the required connector from
the selection to the other end of
the fly lead.
3. Insert the connector into the
device you want to power.
• The display shows the
percentage left in the power
pack.
USB ADAPTOR LEAD
This lead can be used to charge mobile phones and various USB devices.
1. Insert the lead into the USB socket
on the power pack.
2. Connect one of the connectors
on the lead to your device
• Do not connect more than one
connector at a time.
• This will supply a maximum of
2.1A at 5V.

JUMP STARTING
CONNECTING THE SMART CABLE TO THE POWER PACK
1. Lift the rubber plug and insert the
jumpstart leads into the power
pack.
• The red & green LEDs will flash
alternatively.
CONNECT THE JUMP START LEADS TO THE BATTERY
1. Connect the red clamp to the unearthed battery terminal first, (this is
usually the positive (+ve) terminal and painted RED).
2. Connect the black clamp to the earthed battery terminal, (this is usually
the negative (-ve) terminal and painted BLACK)
• LED show solid green: Reasdy to start
• LED flashes red and green: Means the smart cable is in search mode,
to activate turn the ignition on (ACC)
• LED shows solid red: indicates a failed connection, possible faults
are:
WARNING: IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOME ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT COULD BE
DAMAGED BY JUMP STARTING. ALWAYS CHECK WITH THE VEHICLE
HANDBOOK TO DETERMINE IF ANY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN.
Jump starter does not
have enough power
Check the power level of the jump starter and
charge if required.
Short Circuit Make sure that the positive & negative leads are
not touching, remove them & restart.
Reverse Polarity Make sure that the smart cable clamps are
connected correctly to the car battery, remove
them & restart.
Over Heating Wait for a few minutes & try again.

JUMPSTART THE BATTERY
ALWAYS carry out the following preliminary checks:
• Switch off the vehicle ignition and ALL ancillary equipment (lighting,
radio etc.)
• Ensure the vehicle battery is rated at 12V and is not damaged in any
way.
• Ensure the area is well ventilated.
• Make sure that the power pack has at least 30% charge.
1. Switch the ignition to ‘start’, for NO MORE than 6 seconds. If the engine
does not start within this time, SWITCH OFF the ignition and wait for at least
3 minutes before trying again.
2. Once the engine is running, disconnect the BLACK clamp FIRST, then
disconnect the RED clamp.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
• Wipe the body of the unit clean using a soft damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasives to clean this product.
REPAIRS
• All repairs must be carried out by qualified service technicians.
STORAGE
• When not in use, store in a safe dry place.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE POWER PACK IS AT LEAST 30% CHARGED
BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO JUMPSTART.
