Thank you for purchasing the Clearaudio concept turntable package.
The Clearaudio concept is equipped with either the innovative concept tonearm or
our award-winning, direct-wired Satisfy Kardan Aluminium tonearm.
A high quality moving magnet or moving coil cartridge completes the package.
All parameters have been pre-adjusted at the Clearaudio factory, including the tracking and
anti-skating force.
Please read the instruction manual for easy setup and to discover how to care for your concept
turntable to enjoy music for many years. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid any potential
damage. Not following our instructions could void your warranty.

Safety instructions
1. General information
Check the turntable for any damage before using it. Do not connect the turntable if damaged!
Never connect the turntable if it has been dropped or gotten wet, contact your dealer to have the turntable checked.
Never expose the turntable to rain or moisture.
Never touch the power cord of the device with wet hands.
Regular visual inspections for defective insulation on the connection cable are also recommended for your own safety.
A damaged cable should be replaced immediately by a specialist!
Never pull on the power cord to unplug the device. Always pull directly on the plug!
The inside of the turntable is maintenance free. Never open the case or attempt to repair the unit yourself, since this
can lead to loss of warranty!
We recommend disconnecting the power supply from the mains if you do not operate the device for a longer period of
time.
The turntable does not feature an automatic shut-o mechanism.
Therefore, as soon as the stylus has reached the run-out groove, engage the tonearm lift and switch the turntable o.
Not suitable for children! Scope of delivery may contain small parts that can be swallowed.
2. Intended use
The
concept is a turntable for playing records.
The intended use of the concept in accordance with the information provided in the user manual only.
The power supply may only be operated with maximum permissible connection values according to the technical data.
Any other use or modication of this product is not intended.
3. Location of installation
Avoid locations with direct sunlight, temperature uctuations and high humidity.
Likewise, avoid placing electronic devices near heaters, heat lamps, or other devices that produce heat.
The device is designed for operation at room temperature.
No objects with an open ame may be placed on or near the device (burning candles or similar).
4. Overload
The product is designed to comply with all necessary safety regulations. However, you should not leave the device
unattended under extreme loads.
5. Maintenance
Never use agressive cleaning detergent.
Donotusedryclothsforcleaningasthisgeneratesstaticelectricity.Suitablecleaningandcareproducts from Clearaudio
are available from www.analogshop.de or from specialist retailers.
The bearing of the turntable platter can be lubricated every 2 years with the oil provided.
Put 1 or 2 drops of the oil into the bearing for lubrication.

6. Health information
Permanently high volume can lead to various types of hearing damage. Use high volume responsibly!
7. Service
The concept turntable should be repaired during the guarantee period by the manufacturer only, otherwise the warranty
claim expires. All Clearaudio products should only be serviced by specialist retailers.
If, despite the high production standard, a service is necessary, the concept turntable must be send to Clearaudio
through your dealer.
8. Transport
Use the original packing material for further transportation of the concept turntable, otherwise serious damage could
occur.
Be sure to pack the device exactly as it was shipped.
Safe transport is only guaranteed in the original packaging.
Proceed in reverse as described for assembly when packing.
Always remove the turntable platter and replace the foam securing the sub-platter as well as the tape securing the
tonearm and the cartridge stylus protection. Otherwise serious damage can occur.
Please also ensure that you fully retract the turntable feet.
For any transportation of the concept turntable, please ensure that the platter is packed with the upper surface facing
downwards into the packaging.
Clearaudio assumes no liability for any damage that may occur due to incorrect packing.

Do not dispose this product together with other waste.

1. Packaging overview
The Clearaudio concept tunrtable is delivered in a customized packing to ensure its safe transport.
Please retain the original packaging for any future transportation and shipping.
Please see the list below to check the contents of your Clearaudio concept tunrtable.

3. Set-up
Setting up the concept turntable is easy. The turntable chassis, tonearm and cartridge are already
assembled and all key parameters have been pre-adjusted and tested at the Clearaudio factory.
The concept turntable needs a set-up space of at least 17 x 14 inches.
3.1
First take the
concept turntable chassis out of the
package and place it on a suitable surface.
Then remove the drive belt from the plastic bag.
3.2
Place the drive belt around the sub-platter and
around the motor pulley.
3.3
Take the platter out of the package and carefully
place it with both hands onto the shaft.
Make sure that the hollowed side faces down towards
the sub-platter.
3.4
Carefully remove the adhesive security tape and
other security materials from the tonearm and the
cartridge.

Please level the turntable using the level gauge
provided.
All key parameters have been adjusted at the
Clearaudio factory.
3.6
If the bubble of the level gauge is not centered
within the black circle, please turn the turntables
feet clockwise or anti-clockwise until you reach the
perfectly leveled position.
You will only get the best sound from your concept
turntable if the turntable is perfectly leveled.
3.7
Connect one end of the external power supply
provided to the socket on the rear of the concept
turntable and the other end to a live AC outlet.
Then connect the tonearm cable to your phonostage
(red plug = right channel, black plug = left channel).
Your concept turntable is now completely assembled
and ready to play.

4. Important notes
4.1 Adjustment of the tracking force
Never check or adjust the tracking force when there is a record on the platter.
Always remove the record rst. The pre-adjusted and recommended tracking force for the
Clearaudio concept MM cartridge is 2.2g (± 0.3g) and for the Clearaudio concept mc cartridge
is 2.2g (± 0.2g).
4.3 Adjustment of the anti-skating force
Again, since everything on the turntable is pre-
assembled and tested, including tonearm and cartridge,
there is usually no need to change any of the
concept
turntable parameters.
If you wish to change your cartridge and to adjust the
anti-skating force, please refer to your nearest qualied
dealer or service personnel.
Your dealer will nd the anti-skating adjuster on the
underside of the turntable.

4.2 Adjustment of the tonearm height
Since everything on the turntable is pre-assembled
and tested, including tonearm and cartridge, there
is usually no need to change any parameters on the
concept turntable. If you wish to change the height
of your tonearm, please refer to your nearest qualied
dealer or service personnel.
Your dealer can make the height adjustment by
loosening the locking screw on the side of the tonearm
base of your turntable.

4.4 Fine speed adjustment
There is no need to check the speed before using the turntable for the rst time as the motor
adjustment is already pre-set at the factory.
We recommend the Clearaudio Stroboscope Testrecord (Art. No. AC038) and the Clearaudio
“Speed Light” (Art. No. AC039, both available at www.analogshop.de) to adjust the speed as
perfectly and precisely as possible.
On the rear side of your turntable (close to the power supply input) there are three speed setting
controls:
- Left control = setting 78rpm
- Middle control = setting 45rpm
- Right control = setting 33 1/3rpm

5. Troubleshooting
If you have a problem with your concept turntable, rst check the possible causes to rule out
incorrect operation.
If the error persists, please contact your dealer!
Never try to open the device and/or repair it yourself, this will void the warranty!

work Is the power cord plugged in? Check the connection.
No sound
The tonearm and phono stage
are not properly connected. Check the cable connection between the tonearm and the phono stage.
Is the amp turned on? Check the power supply to the amplier.
The volume on the amplier/
loudspeaker is set too low or on
„mute“.
Check the volume settings.
Is the cartridge protective cap
still attached? Remove the cartridge‘s protective cap.
Is the tonearm in the raised
position? Lower the tonearm into the lead-in groove.
Is the stylus damaged? Check the stylus and have the cartridge checked
by a specialist if necessary.
Bad sound /
noise
Is the record or the stylus dirty or
damaged? Clean the record / or the cartridge. Clearaudio oers many helpful accessories for care and
cleaning. In the event of damage, we recommend
an assessment by a specialist and, if necessary,
an exchange.
Is the cartridge properly mounted
into the tonearm? Check the installation using the relevant user manual and correct them if necessary.
Has the tracking force been set
too high? Adjust the tracking force.
Is the correct operating mode
(MM / MC) set on the amplier? Check the settings of your phono stage.
The pre/amp does not have
enough gain. Check the settings of your phono stage.
Pre/amp is mismatched. Swap the plugs of the turntable that are connected
to the left and right outputs.

Needle bounces

Is the record or the stylus dirty
or damaged? Clean the record / or the cartridge. Clearaudio oers many helpful accessories for care and
cleaning. In the event of damage, we recommend

Has the tracking force been set
too high? Adjust the tracking force.
Is the record deformed or
scratched? Use a record clamp or replace the record.
Is the turntable level? Check the alignment of the turntable and adjust
if necessary.
Platter does not
turn
Is the drive belt properly
attached? Check the position of the drive belt.
Is the power cord connected
properly? Check the connection.
No speed was selected / speed
selection in position „0“/“OFF“. Select a speed and start the turntable.
Noisy sound Is the drive belt properly
attached? Check the position of the drive belt. Is it too loose and needs to be changed?
Humming noises
Contact problems with the signal
connections (e.g. cinch plugs,
adapters for extensions)
Check all connections; reduce the level on the
(pre-)amplier to a low volume for acoustic
checking of gross errors.
Metal housing acts as an
antenna and catches hum. It can be helpful for conductivity to connect the metal parts of the turntable to the ground of
the (phono) preamplier. The turntable provides
a grounding terminal for this purpose. Use a
suciently thick wire to establish the ground
connection.
Thepickup pinsare mixedup,not
connected correctly or defective. Check the pin assignment of the pickup.
The music doesn‘t
sound like
usual
Wrong speed selected. Check the record for recommended speed.
There are also records in LP format (30 cm) that
have to be played at 45 rpm (“maxi singles”) and
small records in single format (17 cm) that have to
be played at 33 rpm (so-called “ EP‘s“).
The turntable is spinning too
fast/too slow. Adjust the speed according to the operating instructions.

Sicherheitshinweise
1. Allgemeine Hinweise
Überprüfen Sie das Gerät vor der Inbetriebnahme auf vorhandene Schäden.
Ist das Gerät beschädigt, sollten Sie es nicht am Stromnetz anschließen!
Schließen Sie das Gerät niemals an, wenn es heruntergefallen oder nass geworden ist.
Kontaktieren Sie Ihren Händler um das Gerät überprüfen zu lassen.
Setzen Sie das Gerät niemals Regen oder Feuchtigkeit aus.
Das Netzkabel des Gerätes niemals mit feuchten oder nassen Händen anfassen.
Die regelmäßige Sichtkontrolle einer eventuell defekten Isolierung der Anschlussleitung ist darüber hinaus zu Ihrer
eigenen Sicherheit empfehlenswert. Eine beschädigte Zuleitung sofort vom Fachmann auswechseln lassen!
Ziehen Sie niemals am Netzkabel um das Gerät auszustecken, sondern direkt am Stecker!
Das Innere des Gerätes ist wartungsfrei, önen Sie niemals das Gehäuse oder versuchen Sie das Gerät selbst zu
reparieren. Dies kann zudem zu Garantieverlust führen.
Sollten Sie das Gerät über einen längeren Zeitraum nicht betreiben, empfehlen wir, das Netzteil vom Stromnetz zu
trennen.
Der Plattenspieler besitzt keine automatische Endabschaltung. Sobald die Auslaufrille erreicht ist, muss der Tonarm
mittels Handlift von der der Platte gehoben und der Plattenspieler manuell abgeschaltet werden.
Nicht für Kinder geeignet! Lieferumfang kann verschluckbare Kleinteile enthalten.
2. Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Der concept ist ein Plattenspieler, zur Wiedergabe von Schallplatten.
Der bestimmungsgemäße Gebrauch des concept Laufwerks ist die Verwendung in Übereinstimmung mit den in der
Bedienungsanleitung bereitgestellten Informationen.
Das Netzteil darf dabei nur mit den maximal zulässigen Anschlusswerten, gemäß den technischen Daten betrieben
werden. Nicht bestimmungsgemäß ist jegliche andere Verwendung oder die Modizierung des Netzteils.
3. Aufstellungsort
Das Gerät sollte nur auf ebenen Untergründen aufgestellt werden.
Vermeiden Sie Aufstellungsorte mit direkter Sonneneinstrahlung, Temperaturschwankungen sowie hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit.
Ebenso sollten Sie Elektrogeräte nicht in der Nähe von Heizungen, Heizlampen oder anderen Geräten platzieren die
Wärme produzieren.
Das Gerät ist für den Betrieb in beheizten Räumen konzipiert.
Auf dem Gerät dürfen keine Gegenstände mit oener Flamme aufgestellt werde (brennende Kerzen o.Ä.).
4. Überlastung
Das Produkt ist so konstruiert, dass es alle nötigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen einhält, dennoch sollten Sie das Gerät bei
extremer Belastung nicht unbeaufsichtigt lassen.

5. Pege
Bitte verwenden Sie zur Reinigung der Acrylglaselemente nur speziellen Acrylglasreiniger und keinesfalls Spiritus oder
andere auf Alkohol basierende Flüssigkeiten (Gefahr von Oberächenbeschädigung!).
Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall aggressives Reinigungsmittel.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen keine trockenen Tücher, da dies elektrostatische Auadung erzeugt.
Geeignete Reinigungs- und Pegemittel von clearaudio sind über www.analogshop.de oder über den Fachhandel
erhältlich.
Das Plattentellerlager sollte je nach Beanspruchung etwa alle zwei Jahre mit dem mitgelieferten Lageröl geschmiert
werden. Es genügt, wenn Sie hierzu etwa 1 bis 2 Tropfen in die Lagerbuchse des
concept Laufwerkes geben.
6. Gesundheitshinweise
Dauerhaft hohe Lautstärke kann zu diversen Schädigungen des Gehörs führen.
Gehen Sie verantwortungsbewusst mit hohen Lautstärken um!
7. Service
Das
concept Laufwerk darf während der Garantiezeit nur vom Hersteller repariert werden, ansonsten erlischt der
Garantieanspruch. Der Service für alle clearaudio Produkte sollte ausschließlich beim Fachhändler erfolgen.
Sollte trotz des hohen Fertigungsstandards ein Service erforderlich werden, muss der clearaudio concept über Ihren
Fachhandel an clearaudio eingeschickt werden.
8. Transport
Beim Transport des clearaudio concept stets die Originalverpackung verwenden. Achten Sie darauf, das Gerät genauso
zu verpacken, wie es ausgeliefert wurde. Nur in originalverpacktem Zustand ist ein sicherer Transport gewährleistet.
Beim Verpacken umgekehrt verfahren, wie bei dem Aufbau und der Inbetriebnahme beschrieben.
Dabei ist unbedingt auf korrekte bzw. sichere Verpackung zu achten (Originalverpackung).
Bitte entfernen Sie zum Transport den Plattenteller vom Laufwerk und sichern Sie den Tonarm und den Nadelschutz des
Tonabnehmers zusätzlich mit einem Klebestreifen.
Falls Sie Ihr concept Laufwerk transportieren oder versenden wollen, achten Sie bitte darauf, dass der Plattenteller immer
mit der ausgefrästen Seite nach oben in die untere Verpackungsebene eingepackt wird und dass die Laufwerksfüße
wieder zurück geschraubt werden!
Clearaudio kann für Schäden, die beim Transport entstehen und die durch falsches Einpacken verursacht wurden,
keine Haftung übernehmen.
9. Entsorgung
Dieses Produkt darf nicht zusammen mit Restmüll entsorgt werden.

1. Verpackungsübersicht
Clearaudio hat eine spezielle Verpackung für Ihr concept Laufwerk entwickelt, welche einen
sicheren Transport gewährleistet.
Bitte heben Sie diese Verpackung für eventuelle Transporte auf.
2. Lieferumfang
1) Laufwerkskörper, Tonarm und Tonabnehmer, Riemen am Sub-Teller.
2) Plattenteller.
3) Zubehörbox: Wasserwaage, Innensechskantschlüssel (Größe 2), Netzteil inkl. Adapter,
Lageröl, Bedienungsanleitung, clearaudio Rücklieferschein, Garantiekarte.

3. Aufbau und Inbetriebnahme
Der Aufbau und die Inbetriebnahme des concept Plattenspielers gestalten sich sehr einfach, da das
Laufwerk, der Tonarm sowie der Tonabnehmer schon werksseitg vormontiert, eingestellt und im
Hause clearaudio getestet wurden.
Der concept Plattenspieler benötigt eine waagerechte Aufstelläche von mindestens 420 x 350 mm.
3.1
Nehmen Sie zuerst den vormontierten
Laufwerkskörper aus der Verpackung heraus und
stellen Sie diesen auf dem zukünftigen Aufstellort
auf.
Der Riemen ist mit einer Tüte auf dem Sub-Teller
xiert, nehmen Sie diesen ab.
3.2
Legen Sie den Riemen um den Sub-Teller und den
Pulley des Motors.
3.3
Nun können Sie mit beiden Händen den Plattenteller
aus der unteren Verpackung entnehmen und
vorsichtig von oben herab auf die Achse des Lagers
setzen.
Hierbei ist darauf zu achten, dass die ausgefräste
Seite auf den Sub-Teller sitzt.
3.4
Entfernen Sie nun bitte auch vorsichtig den
SicherheitsstreifenundweitereSicherungsmaterialien
vom Tonarm und dem Tonabnehmer.

Da Ihr clearaudio concept Plattenspieler
werksseitig schon komplett voreingestellt wurde,
richten Sie das Laufwerk nur noch mit der
mitgelieferten Wasserwaage in waagerechter Lage
aus.
3.6
Sollte sich die Blase der Wasserwaage nicht mittig
im
schwarzen Kreis benden, können Sie durch
Verstellen der Fußhöhe die genaue waagerechte
Ausrichtung Ihres Laufwerkes erreichen.
Hierzu drehen Sie bitte die unteren Einheiten
der Laufwerksfüße vorsichtig auf, stellen Ihre
gewünschte Höhe ein und sichern diese durch
Festdrehen der Kontermutter.
Diese nden Sie auf der Laufwerksunterseite.
Nur wenn Ihr Laufwerk die optimale waagerechte
Position hat, werden Sie den besten Klang mit
Ihrem
concept Plattenspieler erleben!
3.7
Verbinden Sie abschließend den Netzadapter
mit der Netzbuchse des Plattenspielers und der
Stromquelle.
Die Tonarmkabel verbinden Sie mit Ihrer
Phonovorstufe (roter Stecker = rechter Kanal,
schwarzer Stecker = linker Kanal).
Ihr clearaudio
concept Plattenspieler ist nun
komplett aufgebaut und spielbereit!
