1.Generalinformation
The HM55litrerangeofuprightcarpetsoil
extractionmachinesaredesignedfortheefficient
cleaningofcarpetsand upholstery.Theyhave
beendesigned forthe professional userto
ensurelongservicelifeandsafeoperation.
Werecommend thatanyusernotfamiliarwith
carpetcleaningshould readtheseuser
instructionsfullybeforeusing themachine.Ifyou
haveanyqueriespleasecontact the supplierwho
youpurchasedthemachine fromorTruvox
Internationalonthecontactdetailsprovidedat
theback.
Thesemachinesmustonlybeusedforthe
manufacturer’sapprovedapplication.TheHM55
litrerange isdesignedforthecleaningand
removal ofnormal carpetsoil.Donotuse the
machinewhereitissuspectedthatthecarpetor
upholsterycontainshealthendangeringdustor
debrissuchasasbestosorchemical waste.If
thisissuspected do notproceed,contactyour
supervisor,supplierorTruvoxInternationalfor
advice.
The followinginstructionscontainimportant
informationaboutthemachine and safetyadvice
forthe operator.
Equipmentmustbeoperated,servicedand
maintained in accordancewiththe
manufacturer’sinstructions.Ifindoubtcontact
thesupplierofyourmachine.

1.1ImportantSafetyAdvice
Whenusing electricalequipmentbasicsafety
precautionsshould befollowedincludingthe
following.
•Readallinstructionscarefullybeforeuse.
•Keepchildrenandunauthorisedpersons
awayfromthe machinewheninuse.
•Donot leavethemachine connectedtothe
electricitysupplywhennotin use;always
removetheplugfromthesocket-outlet.
•Switchoffthemachinebeforeremoving the
plug.
•Whenunplugging pullthe plug,notthesupply
cord.
•Donot operateswitchesortouchthemains
plug withwethandsasthismaycauseelectric
shock.
•Theplugofthepowersupplycordmustbe
removed fromthesocket-outletbefore
commencingcleaning ofthemachineor
undertakingmaintenanceoperations.
•The powersupplycordmustberegularly
inspectedforsignsof damage.
•Donot operatethemachinewithadamaged
supplycordorplug,orafterthemachine
malfunctionsorisdamagedinanyway.

1.2Guidelinesfortheoperator
•Operatorsmustbefullytrainedintheuseof
themachinein accordancewiththese
instructions,abletoperformuser
maintenanceandthecorrectselectionof
accessories.
•Operatorsshould bephysicallycapableto
manoeuvre,transportand operatethe
machine.
•Operatorsshould beabletorecognise
unusual operation ofthemachineandreport
anyproblems.
•Wearsuitablefootweartoavoid slipping.
•Wearsuitableclothingtokeepdryandwarm.
•Wherepossible implementjobrotationand
adequaterestperiodstoavoid continuoususe
ofthesamemuscles.
•Donot leavethemachinerunning
unattended.
•Donot allowchildren tocrawlon carpetsuntil
thoroughlydry.
•Keepcleaningsolutionsawayfromchildren
and petsatall times.
•Donot smokewhenusingthemachine.
•Donot putanyobjectsintoopenings. Do not
usewithanyopening blocked:keepfreeof
duct, lint, hair,oranythingthat mayreduceair
flow.
•CAUTION -Thismachineisforindooruse
onlyandshould notbeused orstored
outdoorsorinwet conditions.
•WARNING –Should waterorfoamemitfrom
themachineexhaust switchoffimmediately
and refertoinstructionsfor Usingthe
Machine.
1.3Transportingthemachine
Whentransportingthemachine ensurethatall
components,tanks and removablepartsare
securelyfastened,andthatthesupplycordand
plug arenot trailing. Detachhoseandwandfrom
machineforeaseofcarriage.
Donot liftortransportthemachine whilst
containingliquidasthiswilladd considerablyto
theweight.
