1. Generalinformation
The Hydromist Litecarpet soil extraction machine
isdesigned forthe efficientcleaning ofcarpets
and upholstery.It hasbeen designed forthe
professionalusertoensurelong servicelifeand
safeoperation.
Werecommend that anyusernotfamiliarwith
carpet cleaning shouldread theseuser
instructionsfullybeforeusing the machine.
AnyqueriespleasecontactTruvoxInternational
on the contactdetailsprovided at theback.
Thismachine mustonlybe used forthe
manufacturer’sapproved application.The
HydromistLiteisdesigned forthe cleaning and
removalofnormalcarpetsoil.Donotuse the
machine whereitissuspected thatthe carpetor
upholstery containshealthendangering dustor
debrissuchasasbestosorchemicalwaste.If
thisissuspected do notproceed,contactyour
supervisororTruvoxInternational foradvice.
The following instructionscontainimportant
information aboutthe machine and safetyadvice
forthe operator.
Equipmentmustbe operated,serviced and
maintained inaccordancewiththe
manufacturer’sinstructions.Ifin doubtcontact
thesupplier ofyourmachine.
1.1ImportantSafetyAdvice
When using electrical equipmentbasicsafety
precautionsshouldbe followed including the
following.
•Read allinstructionscarefullybeforeuse.
•Keep children and unauthorised persons
awayfromthe machine when inuse.
•Donot leavethe machine connected tothe
electricitysupplywhen notinuse;always
removethe plug fromthe socket-outlet.
•Switchoff the machine beforeremoving the
plug.
•When unplugging pullthe plug,notthe supply
cord.
•Donot operateswitchesortouchthe mains
plug withwet handsasthismaycauseelectric
shock.
•Donot operatethe machine withadamaged
supplycordorplug,orafterthe machine
malfunctionsorisdamaged inanyway.
Contactan authorised ServiceAgentfor
repairoradjustment.
•The plug ofthe powersupplycordmustbe
removed fromthe socket-outletbefore
commencing cleaning ofthe machine or
undertaking maintenanceoperations.
•The powersupplycordmustbe regularly
inspected forsignsofdamage.Ifthe power
supplycordisdamaged,itmust be replaced.
•Do not usewherehazardousdust ispresent.
•Do not useinan explosiveatmosphere.
•Donot pickup oilorotherflammablematerial
withthe machine
•Takecarewhen using amachine nearthe top
of stairstoavoidoverbalancing.
1.2Guidelines fortheoperator
•Operatorsmustbe fullytrained intheuseof
the machine inaccordancewiththese
instructions,abletoperformuser
maintenanceand the correctselection of
accessories.
•Operatorsshouldbe physicallycapableto
manoeuvre,transportand operatethe
machine.
•Operatorsshouldbeabletorecognise
unusualoperation ofthe machine and report
anyproblems.
•Wearsuitablefootweartoavoidslipping.
•Wearsuitableclothingtokeep dryand warm.
•Wherepossibleimplementjob rotation and
adequaterest periodstoavoidcontinuoususe
of the samemuscles.
•Do not leavethe machine running unattended
•Donot allowchildren tocrawlon carpetsuntil
thoroughlydry
•Keep cleaningsolutionsawayfromchildren
and petsat alltimes
•Do not smokewhen using the machine.
•CAUTION -Thismachine isforindooruse
onlyand shouldnotbe usedorstored
outdoorsorinwet conditions.
•WARNING –Shouldwateremitfromthe
machine exhaust switchoff immediately and
refertoinstructionsfor UsingtheMachine
1.3Transportingthemachine
When transporting the machine ensurethatall
components,tanksand removablepartsare
securelyfastened,and thatthe supplycordand
plug arenot trailing. Detachhoseand wandfrom
machine foreaseof carriage.
Donot lift ortransportthe machine whilst
containing liquidasthiswilladd considerablyto
the weight.
Takeextremecarewhen moving the machine up
ordownstepsorstairs.
CAUTION –Incorrectlifting techniquesmay
resultinpersonalinjury.Weadvisethatthe
manual handling regulationsarefollowed.

1.4Electrical connection
•Beforeconnecting the machine tothe power
supply,check thatyoursupplyvoltage
correspondswiththatmarked on the rating
labelon the rearof themachine.
UK only
•The supplycordisfitted withanon rewireable
plug containing a13 ampfuse.Shouldthe
fuserequirereplacementitmustonlybe
replaced bya13 ampfuseconforming to
BS1362,and the fusecovermustbe refitted.
Ifthe fusecoverislostthe plug mustnotbe
used until the correctreplacementcoveris
fitted.
•IMPORTANT-If the supplycordisdamaged,
itmustonlybe replaced byaspecialcord
availablefromthe manufactureroran
authorised serviceagent.
Shouldan extension cordbe used,ensurecord
rating isadequateforthe equipment.Donotuse
extension cordincoiled condition asthiscould
result inoverheating of the cord.

3Preparingforuse
•Makesurebothtanksareclean beforeuse.
•Connectthe flexiblevacuumhoseontothe
vacuumhoseinletand the high pressure
sprayhoseontothe solution outlet. (fig. 1)

water.Takecaretousecorrectdilution rate
forthe detergent.Neveroverfill.
•Fillthe anti-foamtankwithan appropriatede-
foamersolution.
•Important–Alwaysuselowfoaming carpet
cleaning chemicals.Ifusing foaming carpet
cleaning chemical,oriffoamdevelopsdue to
residuesinthe carpet, ensurethatan
appropriatede-foamerisused inthe anti-foam
tank.
Incorrectchemicalscouldcausedamage to
the carpetsbeing cleaned orcausethe
machine tomalfunction.
4Operation
4.1Starting themachine
•Connect the cabletomainspower.
•Ensurethe slideron top ofthe triggerunitisin
the closed position.
•Switchon the unitsprayor/and vacuum.
•Squeezethe triggertospraysolution ontothe
carpet/upholstery.
•Maintainaconstantpressureofthe wand/tool
ontothe surfacetobe cleaned inabackwards
movement only.(fig.2).

4.2Usingthemachine
•Tomorethoroughlydry the surfacebeing
cleaned,completethe cleaning withasecond
passwiththe vacuum(and no spray).
•Neversoakthe textilebeing cleaned while
spraying.

4.3Cleaning Carpet
Colourfastness - Beforeusing cleaning solution
orpre-spotter,testcarpetforcolourfastnesson
an inconspicuousarea.Applysolution toasmall
pieceofclean whitematerialortissue,and then
rub on carpetvigorously.Excessiveamountsof
dyeshowing on the material indicatethatthe
coloursarenot fast, and the carpetshouldnotbe
wet cleaned.
•Movefurniturearound togiveaclearworking
area.Coverbottomsoffurniturelegswhere
necessary (aluminiumcooking foil isideal).
Pinup curtainsand drapes.
•Vacuumcarpetthoroughlytoremoveany
residualdust ordebris.
•Areasof heavycarpetsoiling can be removed
moreeasilyif firsttreated withaconcentrated
cleaning solution orpre-spotting solution.
•Rateofcleaning will depend uponthe
thickness ofthe carpetand the degree ofdirt
inthearea being cleaned.
•Donot clean anymorethan twice.Carpets
mayshrinkiftheyareover-wetornotproperly
fixed down.
4.4CleaningStairs
CAUTION- When cleaning on stairstakegreat
caretoensurethatmachine isstableand cannot
overbalance,possiblycausing injurytoeither
operatororthirdparty.Usethe stair/upholstery
toolforcleaning inplaceof the wand assembly.
4.5Cleaning Upholstery
Thisisdone inthe samewayascarpetcleaning
exceptusing the upholstery toolinplaceofthe
wandassembly.Cleaning isachieved using a
gentledragging motion ofthe upholstery toolover
the material.
•Aninconspicuousarea ofthe itemtobe
cleaned shouldalwaysbe tested forcolour
fastness priortocleaning.Shoulddoubtexist
astothe suitabilityofthe fabricforwet
cleaning,the chemicalmanufacturershould
be consulted foradvice.
•Loosecushionsshouldberemoved and
cleaned separately.
•Careshouldbe taken toavoidover-wetting
the fabric.
5WhenCleaningisFinished
5.1Draining andCleaning
•Beforeremovingthe sprayhose,pressurein
the systemmustbe released.Withthe pump
switched off,holdthe spraynozzleoverthe
removablerecoverytankand squeezethe
spraytriggeruntilthe remaining solution has
been released.The sprayhosecannowbe
disconnected.
•Afterusecheck thatbothsolution tanksare
empty.
oEmptythe solution tankand rinse.
oEmptythe recoverytankand rinseclean.
oRinsebothtanksoutwithclean water
beforestoring the machine.
oClean nozzlesand hoses.
5.2Storage
•Alwaysunplug,empty,wipe downand dry the
machine afteruse.
•Wrap supplycordaround the handleofthe
machine ensuring thatthe plug isnottrailing
on the floor.Storethe machine inadry indoor
area only.
5.3Maintenance
WARNING-Before undertakingmaintenance
operationsoradjustmentsswitchoffmachine
and unplug fromtheelectricitysupply.
The machine requiresminimummaintenance
apartfromthe following checksbythe operator.
•Supplycord -Regularlyinspectsheath,plug
and cordanchorage fordamage orloose
connection.
•Solution tank –Check filtersareclean and
undamaged.Adamaged ormissing filter
mustbe replaced ordamage topumphead
and sprayjet couldoccur.
•Vacuumfilter –Check the vacuumfilteris
cleaned and replaced asappropriate.
•Vacuumhead –Check and removeany
debrisorlintbuild-up fromthe head.
•Spray jet –Check jetforblockage and full
spraypattern.Blowthrough jettoclean.Do
not useapin, asthiscoulddamage the jet.
IMPORTANT –Allotherservicing and repairs
shouldonlybe performed byaTruvoxengineer
orAuthorised ServiceAgent.
IMPORTANT –Shouldthe machine failto
operatepleaserefertothe fault diagnosissection
inthe back ofthe instruction manual.Ifthe
problem/remedyisnotlisted pleasecontact
TruvoxCustomerServiceDepartmentforrapid
attention.
6After Sales Service
Shouldyou requireaftersalesserviceplease
contactthe supplierfromwhomyou purchased
the machine,who willarrange service.Repairs
and servicing ofTruvoxproductsshouldonlybe
performed bytrained staff. Improperrepairscan
causeconsiderabledangerstothe user.
EnquireabouttheTruvoxlowcostand efficient
MaintenanceContract.

Yourproductisguaranteed for one yearfromthe
dateoforiginalpurchase,orhirepurchase,
againstdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanship
during manufacture.Withinthe guarantee period
weundertakeatourdiscretion,torepairor
replacefreeofcharge tothe purchaser,anypart
found tobe defective,subjecttothe following
conditions.

1.Claimsmade underthe termsofthe
guarantee mustbe supported bytheoriginal
invoice/billofsaleissuedatthe timeofsale,
orthe machine Serial Number.
2.Forclaimsunderthisguarantee contactthe

liableforanyincidental orconsequentialloss.

•Consumableitemsand wearpartssuchas
