HC 428 HDMI Switch/Splitter 2 IN/8 OUT
Professioneller HDMI Switch/Splitter zur Wiedergabe der Signale
einer von 2 angeschlossenen Eingangsquellen (wie z.B. DVD-Player,
Spielekonsole oder SAT-Receiver), an max. 8 Displays (z.B. LCD/
Plasma TV) gleichzeitig.
Der HC 428 mit integrierter Verstärker- und Equalizer-Funktion ist
die ideale Lösung für folgende Anwendungsbereiche: Home Theater,
Audio/Video Installation, z.B. in Konferenz-/Schulungsräumen,
Messe- oder Verkaufspräsentationen.
Das Gerät ist nur für den Anschluss an HDMI Ein- und Ausgänge
von entsprechenden AV-Geräten zugelassen. Als Stromversor-
gung darf nur das mitgelieferte Netzteil verwendet werden.
Das Netzteil ist nur für den Anschluss an 100-240V/50-60Hz
Wechselspannung zugelassen.
Eine andere Verwendung als zuvor beschrieben führt zur Beschä
digung dieses Produktes, darüber hinaus ist dies mit Gefahren,
wie z.B. Kurzschluss, Brand, elektrischer Schlag etc. verbunden.
Die Sicherheitshinweise sind unbedingt zu befolgen. Dieses
Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen nationalen und europäischen
Anforderungen.

• Eine Verwendung ist nur in geschlossenen Räumen, also nicht im
Freien erlaubt. Der Kontakt mit Feuchtigkeit, z.B. in Feuchträumen
u.ä. ist unbedingt zu vermeiden.
• Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen hohen Temperaturen, Tropf- oder
Spritzwasser, starken Vibrationen, sowie hohen mechanischen
Beanspruchungen aus.
• Stellen Sie keine offenen Brandquellen, wie brennende Kerzen auf
oder direkt neben dem Gerät ab.
• Achten Sie während des Betriebs auf eine ausreichende Belüftung
von Steckernetzteil und Umschalter. Decken Sie die Geräte nicht
durch Zeitschriften, Decken, Vorhänge o.ä. ab.

Anschluss
Vor dem Anschließen der Geräte informieren Sie sich in den jeweili-
gen Betriebsanleitungen. Alle Geräte ausschalten. Verkabeln Sie sie
nun mit dem HC 428 und überprüfen anschließend ob alles korrekt
ausgeführt ist.
Bei Änderungen der Beschaltung des HC 428 gehen Sie ebenso vor.
1. Verbinden Sie die Eingänge IN1 bis IN2 mit den Ausgängen Ihrer
AV-Quellgeräte (z.B. DVD-Player, SAT-Receiver).
2. Verbinden Sie die Ausgänge OUT1 bis OUT8 mit den Eingängen
Ihrer Bildschirme.
3. Stecken Sie den Niedervoltstecker des beiliegenden Netzteils
in die Anschlussbuchse DC 5V.
4. Stecken Sie das Netzteil in eine Wandsteckdose.

RS-232 Anschluss für die Computersteuerung
Beachten Sie bitte:
Sie können die Computersteuerung (HDMI DUAL-INPUT SPLITTER.
EXE im Ordner „HDMI Dual-Input Splitter exe“) von der mitgelie-
ferterten CD-ROM per Doppelklick starten.
Sollte die Fehlermeldung „MSCOMM32 not found“ erscheinen,
installieren Sie die Software auf Ihrem Computer: Doppelklick auf
„setup.exe“ und den Instruktionen folgen.
Stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass Ihr PC und der HC 428 ausgeschaltet
sind, bevor Sie beide mit dem RS-232 Kabel verbinden.
1. Verbinden Sie den COM-Anschluss Ihres PCs mit demselben
des HC 428.
2. Schalten Sie Ihren PC und den HC 428 ein.
3. Starten Sie die Software.
RS-232 Software
1. Stand by und Power On Anzeige:
Wenn Sie die Software starten, wird der HC 428 eingeschaltet (Die
Schaltäche wird “Stand By” anzeigen). Drücken Sie die “Stand
By” Schaltäche. Der HC 428 wird in den Stand By Modus geschal
tet. (Die Schaltäche wird “Power On” anzeigen)
2. COM Anschlussauswahl:
Die Software kann bis zu 15 COM Anschlüsse verwalten. Wählen
Sie den COM Anschluss den Sie benutzen möchten. (In der Regel
sind die Anschlüsse COM 1 und COM 2 RS-232)
3. Eingangsquelle wählen:
Sie können 2 Eingangsquellen wählen. Drücken Sie “IN 1” oder
“IN 2” um die Eingangsquelle zu wählen. Nach der Auswahl der
Quelle wird die Eingangsanzeige grün leuchten.
4. Ausgangsanschluss wählen:
8 Ausgangsanschlüsse sind kontrollierbar. Drücken Sie “OUT 1”
bis “OUT 8” um das Ausgangssignal zu kontrollieren. Ein Haken
wird anzeigen, welchen Ausgang sie angewählt haben.

5. Power Anzeige:
rot (ON); grau (Stand by)
6. Eingangsanzeige:
grün (ausgewählt); grau (nicht ausgewählt)
7. Ausgangsanzeige:
blau (aktiv); grau (nicht aktiv)
8. Beenden der Software:
Drücken Sie “EXIT”, um die Software zu beenden.
Bedienung
• Schalten Sie mit dem Hauptschalter an der Geräterückseite das
Gerät ein.
• Die LED Betriebsanzeige POWER INDICATOR leuchtet.
• Um den Umschalter auf Standby zu schalten bzw. wieder einzu-
schalten, drücken Sie kurz die Taste POWER ON/OFF.
• Aktivieren Sie an Ihren Bildschirmen die HDMI-Eingänge (siehe
Bedienungsanleitungen der betreffenden Geräte).
• Starten Sie an den HDMI-Quellgeräten die Wiedergabe.
• Der Eingang, dessen grüne LED am Gerät aueuchtet, sendet sein
Signal an die 8 Ausgänge des Umschalters.
Der Umschalter ist mit einer intelligenten Eingangserkennung
ausgestattet, die ein Umschalten auf einen Eingang ohne Signal
verhindert. Nicht aktive Eingänge sind also nicht anwählbar.
Der Umschalter liefert an allen 8 Ausgängen die Auösung des akti-
ven HDMI-Quellgerätes.
Stellen Sie deshalb sicher, dass alle angeschlossenen Bildschirme
diese Auösung unterstützen.
Alle angeschlossenen Geräte müssen HDCP-kompatibel sein und
diesen Standard unterstützen.
Problembehebung
Kein Bild:
• Überprüfen Sie alle Steckverbindungen.
• Überprüfen Sie die Verbindungsleitungen auf Beschädigungen.
• Schalten Sie den HC428 mit dem Hauptschalter hinten am Gerät
aus, stecken Sie das Netzteil ab und warten Sie ca. 5 Minuten.
Nehmen Sie dann das Gerät erneut in Betrieb, wie weiter vorne
in dieser Anleitung beschrieben.
Kein Ton:
• Überprüfen Sie alle Steckverbindungen.
• Überprüfen Sie die Verbindungsleitungen auf Beschädigungen.
Sind die Leitungen für Audio- und Videoübertragung geeignet?
• Eventuell muss der Umschalter zurückgesetzt werden.

aus, stecken Sie das Netzteil ab und warten Sie ca. 5 Minuten.

• Ist ein Video-Aufnahmegerät an einem der Ausgänge ange-
schlossen? In diesem Fall blockiert HDCP automatisch die Ton-
übertragung.

HC 428 HDMI Switch/Splitter 2 IN/8 OUT
With this professional HDMI switch/splitter you can play one of the
2 connected HDMI sources (f.e. a DVD, game console or satellite
receiver), on up to 8 HDMI displays (LCD/Plasma).
The HC 428 with amplier and equalizer functions offer solutions
for Home Theater, AV installation data center, information distribu-
tion, conference room presentation, school and corporate training
environment.
It is only approved for connections to HDMI inputs and outputs
of corresponding AV devices.
As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor. The power
unit is only permitted for the connection to 100-240V/50-60Hz
alternating current.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage
to this product and involves the risk of short circuits, re, electric
shock, etc.. The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable National and European
specications.
Safety instructions
In case of damage caused by not complying with these safety instruc-
tions the guarantee will be rendered void. We will not assume liability
for any resulting damage. We shall not accept liability for damage to
property or personal injury caused by incorrect handling or non-
compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty is voided in
these cases.
• Any unauthorized conversion and/or modication of the product
is inadmissible for safety and Q.C. reasons (CE).
• The plug-in power supply is designed for safety class II and must
only be used with a socket of the public electric grid.
• In order to disconnect the unit from the power system completely
the power supply must be disconnected from the power socket.

Installation/Setup
You can place the switch on an even surface or mount it on or under a
surface by using the provided assembly brackets.
For fastening only use screws appropriate to the mounting surface.
Connection
Carefully read the input and output connection and/or compatibility
section in the relevant operating instructions of the devices that are
to be connected to the adapter.
Switch off the devices to be connected before connecting them to the
connecting jacks. Do not put them into operation again until you have
made all necessary connections and checked them over once again.
Stick to the same procedure when changing the connection to any of
the devices.
• Connect the inputs IN 1 to IN 2 with the outputs of your AV source
devices (DVD player, SAT receiver, etc.).
• Connect the exits OUT1 to OUT8 with the inputs of your display
monitors.
• Put the low-voltage plug of the enclosed power supply into the
DC 5V connector socket .
• Plug the power unit into a wall socket.

RS-232 Connection for computer control application
Note:
To use the RS-232 connection for computer control
You can use the application software by double click
“HDMI Dual-Input Splitter.exe” that located in “HDMI Dual-Input
Splitter exe”. If the computer shows the “MSCOMM32 is not
found”, please install the application software from CD disc.
To install the software, please double click “setup.exe”, and then
follow the installation instruction.
Before you connect the RS-232 cable, please make sure the power
of computer and HC 428 Splitter is off.
1. Connect the RS-232 cable form the COM Port (RS-232) of your
computer to the RS-232 port of HC 428 Splitter.
2. Turn on the power ofHC 428 Splitter, and computer.
3. Start the control software.
Operations of HC 428
Manual Operation
• Power On:
The power main switch is located at rear panel of the splitter.
Please switch it to turn on the power of splitter. The LED indication
light of power will be on.
• Power Off:
The power main switch is located at rear panel of the splitter.
Please switch it to turn off the power of splitter. The LED indication
light of power will be off.
• Selection:
Press the “SELECT IN” button once to select the inputs. The LED
will indicate which input is current source device.

RS-232 Operation
The power main switch is located at rear panel of the splitter. Please
switch it to turn on the power of the splitter. The LED indication light
of power will be on.
1Stand by and power on control:
When you run the software, the power is set to on (The button will
show “Stand By”). Press the “Stand By” button. The Splitter will
be turned to stand by mode. (The button will show “Power ON”)
2COM port select:
The software can control up to 15 COM ports. Scroll down the menu
and select the COM port you want to control. (Normally the COM 1
and COM 2 are RS-232)
3Input source select:
2 input source selectable. Press “IN 1” or “IN 2” to select the input
source. After the source is selected, the input indicator will display
green color.
4Output port control:
8 output source controllable. Press “OUT 1” ~ “OUT 8” to control
the output signal. A check mark will show if you choose to turn on
the output port.
5Power indicator:
Red (ON); Gray (Stand by)
6Input indicator:
Input source indication. (Green: selected; Gray: non-selected)
7Output indicator:
Active or non-active output port indication. (Blue: Active)
8Exit the Software:
Press to exit the software.
Operation
• Turn on with the main switch on the rear side of the device.
• The LED operating display POWER INDICATOR is lit.
• In order to turn the switch to standby or to switch it on again,
shortly press the button POWER ON/OFF on the remote control or
push the key SELECT on the device for about 3 seconds.
• Activate the HDMI input on your screens (see instructions of the

devices in question)
• Start the playback on your HDMI source device.
• The respective inputs are selected directly with the buttons 1-2 on
the remote control.
• With the buttons << or >> on the remote control, or the button
SELECT on the device, you access the individual inputs in
sequence.
• The input whose green LED ashes on the device, sends a signal to
the 8 outputs of the switch.
The switch is equipped with an intelligent input recognition which
prevents a switching to an input without signal. Non-active inputs
are therefore not accessible.
The switch supplies the resolution of the active AV source device to
all 8 outputs.
Therefore make sure that all connected screens support this resolu-
tion.
All connected devices must be HDCP compatible and must support
this standard.
Troubleshooting
No image:
• Check all plug-in connections.
• Check the connecting lines Is any line damaged?
• Turn off the HC 428 by using the main switch on the rear side of
the device, unplug the power supply and wait about 5 minutes.
Then restart the device as previously described in this manual.
No sound:
• Check all plug-in connections.
• Check the connecting lines. Is any line damaged? Are the lines
suitable for audio and video transmission?
• It might be required to reset the switch. Turn off the HC 428 by
using the main switch on the rear side of the device, unplug
the power supply and wait about 5 minutes. Then restart the device
as previously described in this manual.
• Is there a video recording device connected to one of the outputs?
In this case HDCP automatically blocks the sound signal
transmission.

Branchement
Consultez les modes d’emploi des appareils à raccorder pour réaliser
des branchements corrects des entrées et sorties.
Eteignez les appareils à raccorder avant de les raccorder sur les
ches de connexion et allumez-les uniquement lorsque tous les bran-
chements sont effectués et ont été contrôlés. Procédez de la même
manière en cas de modications des branchements de l’appareil.
1. Connectez les entrées IN1 à IN2 aux sorties de vos appareils
source A/V (par ex. lecteur DVD, récepteur satellite).
2. Connectez les sorties OUT1 à OUT8 aux entrées de vos écrans.
3. Branchez le connecteur basse tension du bloc d’alimentation
fourni dans la che de raccord c.c. 5 V.
4. Branchez le bloc d’alimentation dans une prise murale.

Branchement RS-232 pour la commande par ordinateur
Veuillez observer :
Utilisation du branchement RS-232 pour la commande par ordina
teur. Veuillez installer le logiciel HDMI DUAL-INPUT SPLITTER.EXE
présent sur le CD-Rom fourni.
An d’installer le logiciel, veuillez double-cliquer avec le bou
ton droit de la souris sur Setup.exe et suivez les instructions sui
vantes.
Assurez-vous que votre PC et le HC 428 sont éteints avant de
connecter celui-ci au câble RS-232.
1. Reliez le port COM de votre PC au port COM du HC 428.
2. Allumez votre PC et le HC 428.
3. Démarrez le logiciel.
Logiciel RS-232
1. Voyants Stand by et Power On :
Lorsque vous démarrez le logiciel, le HC 428 se connecte (le bou
ton afche « Stand By »). Appuyez sur le bouton « Stand By ».
Le HC 428 commute en mode Stand By. (Le bouton afche alors
« Power On »)
2. Choix du port COM :
Le logiciel peut gérer 15 ports COM. Sélectionnez le port COM que
vous souhaitez utiliser. (En général, ce sont les ports COM 1 et
COM 2 RS-232)
3. Sélection de la source d’entrée :
Vous pouvez sélectionner 2 sources d’entrée. Appuyez sur « IN 1 »
ou « IN 2 » an de sélectionner la source d’entrée. Après la sélec
tion de la source, l’afchage de l’entrée s’allume en vert.
4. Sélection du port de sortie :

Appuyez sur « EXIT » an d’arrêter le logiciel.
Utilisation
• Allumez l’appareil avec l’interrupteur principal au dos de
l’appareil.
• Le voyant d’afchage (DEL) POWER INDICATOR s’allume.
• An de commuter le commutateur inverseur sur Standby ou de
l’activer de nouveau, appuyez brièvement sur la touche
POWER ON/OFF.
• Activez sur vos écrans les entrées HDMI (voir modes d’emploi des
appareils concernés).
• Démarrez la lecture sur les appareils source HDMI.
• L’entrée dont la DEL verte s’allume sur l’appareil envoie son signal
au 8 sorties du commutateur inverseur.
Le commutateur inverseur est doté d’une reconnaissance intelligente
des entrées qui empêche de commuter sur une entrée sans signal. Les
entrées non actives ne peuvent donc pas être sélectionnées.
Le commutateur inverseur fournit sur les 8 sorties la résolution de
l’appareil source HDMI actif.
Assurez-vous en conséquence que tous les écrans raccordés suppor-
tent cette résolution.
Tous les appareils raccordés doivent être compatibles HDCP et sup-
porter ce standard.
Résolution des problèmes
Aucune image :
• Contrôlez toutes les ches de raccordement.
• Contrôlez les câbles de raccordement. Un câble est-il endommagé ?
• Eteignez le HC 428 avec l’interrupteur principal au dos de l’appareil,
débranchez le bloc d’alimentation et attendez env. 5 minutes.
Allumez ensuite de nouveau l’appareil comme décrit ci-dessus dans
ce mode d’emploi.
Aucun son :
• Contrôlez toutes les ches de raccordement.
• Contrôlez les câbles de raccordement. Un câble est-il endommagé ?
Les câbles sont-ils adaptés à une transmission audio et vidéo ?
• Le commutateur inverseur doit le cas échéant être réinitialisé.
