TheForward/Reversehandle(2)islocatedatthebottomcenteroftheinstrumentpanel(Figure6).Thehandlehas
threedistinctpositions:F(FORWARD),N(NEUTRAL),andR(REVERSE).Pushthehandleuptooperatethevehicle
intheforwarddirection,orpullthehandledowntooperatethevehicleinreverse.
•TheenginewillnotrunwhenthehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.
ClubCarvehiclesoperateatreducedspeedinreverse.Thereversebuzzerwillsoundasawarningwhenthe
Forward/ReversehandleisintheREVERSEposition.

LOWOILWARNINGLIGHT
Thegasolinevehicleisequippedwithalowoilwarninglight(4),locatedatthetopoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure6).If
thewarninglightcomeson,oilshouldbecheckedandaddedtotheengineasnecessarybeforecontinuingtousethe
vehicle.SeefollowingCAUTION.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwhenthelowoilwarninglightremainson.Ifthe

andthewarninglightstayson,haveatrainedtechniciancheckthevehicle.
CAUTION
•Failuretoaddoilimmediatelywhenthelowoilwarninglightstaysoncanresultinpermanent
enginedamage.
FUELGAUGE/HOURMETER(OPTIONAL)
Ifsoequipped,thefuelgauge/hourmeter(5)islocatedontheinstrumentpanel(Figure6).Thefuelgaugeallowsthe
operatortomonitorthefuellevelinthevehicle.Thehourmetershouldbeusedbythetrainedtechniciantotrackvehicle
usageanddeterminewhenperiodicserviceproceduresarerequired.SeePeriodicServiceScheduleonpage28.
ELECTRICBEDLIFT(OPTIONAL)
Theelectricbedliftswitch(6)islocatedontheupperleftsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure6).
Toliftthebed,pressthesideoftheswitchwiththeuparrow,andpresstheothersideoftheswitchtolowerthebed.
Thebedliftwillmakealoudclickingsoundtosignalthebedisintherestposition.
WARNING
•Keepclearofmovingpartswhenbedisintheraisedpositionandtheengineisrunning.
•Keephandsandngersclearofcrushareabetweenthebedandtheseatbacksupport.
CAUTION
•Canopypinsmustberemovedbeforeliftingthebed.
12-VOLTPOWERPOINT
A12-voltpowerpointislocatedinthedriver’ssidedashpocketandisratedat6.5amps(Figure7).Whenthekey
switchisintheONposition,thepowerpointprovidespowertoaccessoriespluggedintoit.Theelectricalcircuitto
thepowerpointalsopowersalladditionalelectricalaccessoriesonthevehicleandisprotectedbya10-ampfuse.
Exceedinga10-amptotaldrawonthecircuitwillresultinablownfuse.
NOTE:Thepowerpointisnotforcontinuoususe.Extendedusecancausethevehiclebatterytobecomeheavily
discharged.Donotusethepowerpointforlongperiodsoftimewhentheengineisnotrunning.

REVERSEposition,pressingtheacceleratorpedalwillautomaticallyreleasetheparkbrakeandstartthevehicle

BRAKEPEDAL
ThebrakepedalisthelargepedalontheleftwiththewordSTOPmoldedintoit(Figure8).T osloworstopthevehicle,
pressthebrakepedalwithyourrightfoot(Figure9).
PARKBRAKEPEDAL
Theparkbrakepedalisthesmallraisedportionintheupperleftcornerofthebrakepedal.IthasthewordPARK
moldedintoitandthewordsPARKBRAKEmarkedontopofit(Figure8).Tosettheparkbrake,pressthebrakepedal
rmlyandtilttheparkbrakeportionofthepedalforwardwithyourfoot(Figure10).SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
•Theparkbrakewillreleaseautomaticallywheneithertheacceleratororbrakepedalispressed.The
parkbrakehasmultiplelockingpositionsandshouldbermlypressedandlockedtopreventthe
vehiclefromrolling.

Fortheconvenienceofthetrainedtechnician,thereisaneutrallockoutswitchlocatedontheseatsupportpanel
undertheseat(Figure11).Theneutrallockoutswitchhastwopositions,MAINTENANCEandOPERATE,which
areclearlymarked.
WhentheswitchisintheMAINTENANCEposition,itwillallowthetechniciantoruntheengineintheNEUTRAL
positiontoperformcertainmaintenanceand/orrepairfunctions.Withtheswitchinthisposition,thevehiclewillnot
operateiftheForward/ReversehandleisplacedineithertheFORWARDorREVERSEposition.
WARNING
•WiththeswitchintheMAINTENANCEpositionandtheenginerunning,thevehiclecanmovesuddenly
iftheForward/Reversehandleisshiftedoraccidentallybumped.Topreventthis,chockthefrontand
rearwheelsandrmlysettheparkbrakebeforeservicingorleavingthevehicle.
NOTE:BesuretoreturntheswitchtotheOPERATEpositionafterservicingthevehicle,oritwillnotrunwiththe
Forward/ReversehandleineithertheFORWARDorREVERSEposition.
BEDLATCH
CAUTION
•Thecanopyframemustbedisconnectedfromthetopofthewindshieldframebeforeraisingthebed.
Failuretodosowillresultinvehicleorcanopydamage.
Thevehicleisequippedwithabedlatchonthedriversideofthevehicle(Figure12).T oliftthebed,removecanopy
pins,thenpullthelatchhandletowardtherearofthevehicleandliftthebed.
Toclosethebed,loweritgentlyuntilthebedlatchengages.DONOTdropthebed.Connectthecanopyframetothe
topofthewindshieldframebyinstallingthecanopypins.
WARNING
•Keephandsandngersclearofcrushareabetweenthebedandtheseatbacksupport.
•Unloadtherefreshmentcenterbeforeliftingthebed.
NOTE:Thevehicleisequippedwithanautomaticallyengagingproprod(Figure13),unlessequippedwiththe
electricbedliftoption.

Failuretodosowillresultinvehicleorcanopydamage.
Thevehicleisequippedwithanautomaticallyengagingproprodandproprodtrackonthedriversideoftherearbody
(Figure13).Removecanopypinsbeforeliftingbed.Whenpullingthebedlatchhandleandliftingthebed,theproprod
willcometorestinoneofthenotchesintheproprodtrack.
DANGER
•Usecautionwhenworkingunderbed.Besureproprodissecure.Otherwisethebedwillfall,resulting
inseverepersonalinjuryordeath.
WARNING
•Donotdisengageproproduntilallpersonsareclearofrefreshmentcenterbedarea.
•Donotdroptiltbed;lowergentlyandkeepentirebodyclear.Failuretofollowtheseinstructions
couldresultinsevereinjury.
•Keephandsclearofcrushareabetweenbedandseatbacksupport.
Tolowerthebed,liftthebedsothattheproprodisnolongersupportedinoneofthetracknotches.Pushtheproprod
towardthefrontofthevehicletofreeitfromthetracknotchandgentlylowerthebed.DONOTdropthebed.Connect
thecanopyframetothetopofthewindshieldframebyinstallingthecanopypins.
PRE-OPERATIONANDDAILYSAFETYCHECKLIST
EachClubCarvehiclehasbeenthoroughlyinspectedandadjustedatthefactory;however,uponreceivingyournew
vehicle(s),youshouldbecomefamiliarwithitscontrols,indicators,andoperation.Carefullyinspecteachvehicleto
ensurethatitisinproperworkingconditionbeforeacceptingdelivery.
Usethefollowingchecklistasaguidetoinspectthevehicle.Thischecklistshouldbeuseddailytoensurethat
thevehicleisinproperworkingconditionandinconjunctionwiththePerformanceInspectiononpage19andthe
PeriodicServiceScheduleonpage28.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaClubCardistributor/dealerora
trainedtechnician.
Donotoperatethevehicleuntiltheuppercabinet,canopy,andwindshieldhavebeeninstalled.
•SafetyVideo:Havealloperatorsviewthesafetyvideothatwasprovidedwiththevehicleandunderstandthe
safetywarningsitillustratesbeforeoperatingthevehicle.
•General:Allthepartsshouldbeinplaceandproperlyinstalled.Besurethatallnuts,bolts,andscrewsaretight.
Ongasolinevehicles,checkallhoseclampsfortighttaswellasthestarterbeltfortightness.
•Windshield:Ensurethatthewindshieldisinstalledbeforedrivingthevehicle.
•Safetyandinformationdecals:Checktoensurethatallsafetyandinformationdecalsareinplace.SeeSafety

•Tires:Checkforpropertirepressureupondeliveryandonadailybasiswhenthevehicleisinservice.See
VehicleSpecicationsonpage39.
•Loading:Beforedrivingthevehicle,ensurethattheloadweightisevenlydistributedintheCafeExpress
refreshmentcenter.
•Battery:Checkelectrolytetoensurethatitisatitsproperlevel(Figure17).Checkbatteryposts.Wiresshouldbe
tightandfreeofcorrosion.Onelectricvehicles,chargebatteriesfullybeforerstuseofvehicle.
