CONNECTING COMPONENTS AND WIRING
LIT-FG-BLU-e
1. CONNECTING THE TRANSFER UNIT TO THE FRAME CABLE
Connect transfer cable to power supply cable and tighten small screw to keep the two halves together.
Place small cover cap onto transfer cable to cover xing screw.
The transfer unit connects to the power supply unit by the means of the frame cable, this is the white cable that
is provided in the transfer unit bag, this cable locates on the frame as shown below and the cable runs back to the
power supply unit. (See page 7 for transfer unit’s milling details).
Pass white cable through pre-drilled holes in frame as per drawings on Page 7.
Fix transfer unit to frame with backplate and screws provided.

2. MOTOR CONNECTION
Connect the motor to the back of the lock in the appropriate location for lock provided this can be identied by the
cut-outs provided in the bar behind the faceplate. Secure the motor to the faceplate by means of the three screws
supplied, (these are reverse thread).
Push the blue connector on the cable into the blue receptor on the motor in the correct orientation.
3. CONNECTION OF SEPARABLE CABLE FROM BAR HANDLE TO CABLE FOR
CONTROL RELAY UNIT
The separable cables have a tear drop alignment mark on both parts, align these marks and push the two cables
together and then screw the knurled sleeves together to ensure a tight t of the cables.
Take the other end of separable cable with the four-pin plug and plug into corresponding four-pin socket on the
control relay unit.

4. CONNECTION OF TRANSFER CABLE TO CONTROL UNIT RELAY
Take the white cable from the transfer cable with the eight-pin plug and plug into the corresponding eight-pin
socket on the control unit relay.
Once pushed into the sockets they cannot be pulled out, to release you will require a micro at blade screwdriver to
push into the rectangular hole behind the wire to release the clasp that holds the wire in place.
5. WIRING OF THE MOTOR CABLE TO THE MOTOR SOCKET ON THE
CONTROL UNIT RELAY
Three wires are required for this set up, White, Brown and Green, the Yellow and Grey wire are not required so will
require isolating.
Do not cut the ends of these wires as they will push straight into the sockets on the white plug.
White wire goes to socket 1
Brown wire goes to socket 2
Green wire goes to socket 3
It is easier to wire this plug when removed from the control unit. Once wired correctly push back into the socket in
the control unit in the correct orientation

CONNECTING COMPONENTS AND WIRING
LIT-FG-BLU-e
6. CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE TRANSFER CABLE AND
240V SUPPLY
7. SWITCHING THE SYSTEM ON
We advise a qualied electrician to connect the 240v supply to the power supply unit.
Only the white and brown wires are required from the transfer cable, the other wires are not required so please
isolate.
The white wire connects to the V+ terminal of the power supply unit and the brown wire connects to the V-
terminal.
The 240v feed will require a live to the ‘L’ terminal and neutral to the ‘N’ terminal.
Once the system is properly wired, voltage can be applied (240v), a blue light should be visible on the power supply
unit and a blue light visible on the nger scanner, at this point an audible click should be heard from the motor. The
system is now in test mode, placing a nger on the scanner should activate a cycle on the motor.
If the test fails check all wiring has been connected correctly.
Door manufacturers or electricians have a test mode for the basic function – i.e. opening the door. The test mode is
only possible within the rst ten minutes after the voltage has been applied. This function is then deactivated after
this time has elapsed or after the system has been activated.

FIRST STEP
WHAT DO I HAVE TO CONSIDER BEFORE ACTIVATION?
WHY DO YOU NEED AN EKEY BIONYX ACCOUNT?
•Download the ‘Ekey bionyx app’ from the App Store or Google Play Store
•Start the App
•Create an ekey bionyx account. You must conrm the conrmation email
on the same device where the app was installed
•Establish the power supply for the ekey dLine system. If the system is
already powered, disconnect it for at least 10 seconds and then reconnect
it. The devices are then in activation mode
•Follow the instructions in the ‘ekey bionyx app’
•Some functions such as remote opening or sending push messages are
only activated if your ekey dLine system is connected to the internet
•A stable, password protected 2.4 GHz WLAN network with WPA-PSK2
encryption is essential in the wireless range of the front door
•You can also set up activation via a hotspot on your mobile device
•The procedure for setting up the hotspot can be found in the operating
instructions for your mobile device
•For security reasons, the bionyx account is required for registration
•This means that your account is linked to the components (ngerprint
scanner & control unit) and the authorised mobile devices
•An ekey bionyx account is required for anyone who makes changes or
adjustments to the system – i.e. for system administrators
•Users do not need a bionyx account

HOW DO I CLEAN MY BLU-E FINGERPRINT SCANNER?
HOW DO I CLEAN MY SATIN STAINLESS STEEL BLU PULL HANDLE?
HOW DO I CLEAN MY PVD STAINLESS SATIN BLACK PULL HANDLE?
•The ngerprint scanner is basically maintenance free
•Clean the sensor surface of the ngerprint scanner and the ngerprint
scanner itself with a damp (not wet) nonabrasive cloth
•Q-tips, microbre cloths and glass cleaning cloths are suitable for this
purpose
•Materials containing cotton, paper towels, paper tissues, kitchen
sponges, damp dish cloths and kitchen roll are NOT suitable
•Use clean water without adding detergent
•Treat the sensor surface with care
•If it is necessary to disinfect the entire ngerprint scanner including the
sensor, you can use watery and alcohol-based agents – however, these
should be able to dry quickly in the sensor area
•The varnish of the ngerprint scanner is very resistant to all common
cleaning agents and disinfectants with less than 10 minutes of exposure
•Stainless Steel Renovation Kit. - DR121 removes 'tea stains', surface rust,
contamination and on-site dust and dirt without attacking the metal
•It is a combination of organic acids and surface-active agents with a
pH value of 3
•It doesn't present a danger to the person using it or the environment
•It is free from abrasive particles
•Used regularly, it keeps stainless steel hardware sparkling clean and
looking like new
•Particularly good for hardware on property situated on or near the
coast
•Conditioner should be applied as directed to the hardware after the
cleaner
•Follow directions on DR121 leaet
•Clean regularly with a soft, dry cloth or duster
•Rubbing or wiping should be carried out in the direction of the polish/
linishing lines, not across them
•Product should be washed monthly using a soft cloth and mild soapy
water then dried immediately with a clean, soft cloth - especially if tted
on or near the coast
•Fingerprints can be removed by washing product as above
PLEASE NOTE: The cleaner should not be used on PVD Stainless Satin Black

WHAT DO THE VARIOUS LED SIGNALS MEAN?
The four LED segments of the 'ekey dLine ngerprint scanner' signal the different operation modes as well as error
cases. Different light colors are used: Blue, yellow, green and red. These also indicate certain scenarios by means of
different intervals in which they light up.
One blue illuminated LED segment and one blue ashing LED segment:
If the top left LED segment is continuously illuminated blue, while the top right LED segment ashes blue, the
connection to the local network is being established.
Two blue illuminated segments and one blue ashing LED segment:
If both top LED segments are continuously illuminated blue, while the bottom-right LED segment ashes blue, the
connection to the 'ekey bionyx app' is being established.
16 BLU-e Fitting Guide

Three blue illuminated segments and one blue ashing LED segment:
If the top left LED segment is continuously illuminated blue, while the bottom left one ashes blue, the devices are
being congured.
Four blue illuminated LED segments:
If all four LED segments are continuosly illuminated blue, the 'ekey dLine ngerprint scanner' is in its normal state of
operation.
Four orange illuminated LED segments:
If all four LED segments are continuosly illuminated orange, the selected nger can be stored.
Four green illuminated LED segments:
If all four LED segments are continuosly illuminated green, an authorised nger has been recognised and the door
opens.

Four red illuminated LED segments:
If all four LED segments light up after a nger has been placed, the user is not authorised to open the door or the
nger was not correctly recognised. Note that the nger must be placed correctly in order for it to be recognised.
A red ashing LED segment:
If the top left LED segment ashes red, the bus communication between the 'ekey dLine ngerprint scanner'
and the 'ekey dLine control unit' has been disrupted. If the system does not run to normal, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the power supply. 2. Wait at least 10 seconds 3. Restore the power supply. The system should now
return to normal. If, contrary to expectations, no connection is established between the 'ekey dLine ngerprint
scanner' and the 'ekey dLine control unit', contact ekey support (support@ekey.net).
A red ashing LED segment:
If the top-right LED segment ashes red, your WLAN network is not available. Check that selected WLAN network
is available.
ERROR MESSAGES
18 BLU-e Fitting Guide

A red ashing LED segment:
If the bottom-right LED segment ashes red, there is no internet connection. Check your internet connection: Your
router may be switched off.
A red ashing LED segment:
If the bottom-left LED segment ashes red, the 'ekey bionyx app' services are not available. The system
automatically re-establishes the connection as soon as the 'ekey bionyx app' services are available again.
Two blue illuminated LED segments and two red illuminated LED segments:
If both top LED segments are illuminated blue and both bottom LED segments are illuminated red, the matching of
the nger has been interrupted. This can be triggered by an incorrect nger position (ngertip) or by interference
on the sensor (water, coarse contaminants). Make sure you hold your ngers correctly and make sure that there are
no foreign objects on the ngerprint scanner.
Two green illuminated LED segments and two red illuminated LED segments:
If both top LED segments are illuminated green and both bottom LED segments are illuminated red, no function
(no relay) has been assigned to the nger.
