GETTING STARTED
Thank you for choosing the C-Ray 200 series as your LED lighting system.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•Check to make sure the power cord, plug, and socket are intact and snugly
connected.
•Never look directly at the lights as the Ultraviolet and Infrared emitted may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. Always minimize direct exposure to eyes
and skin.
•A drip loop is highly recommended for all electronic equipment used with
aquariums.
•Cobalt International, Inc. is not responsible for injuries or equipment damage
due to misuse of this light.
•Make sure the fixture is securely attached to the hanging kit or mounting
bracket prior to using the light. It is highly recommended to mount the light
while unplugged.
•Regularly clean ventilation openings to avoid issues related to insufficient
ventilation.
•Avoid water contact with the light.
•If the fixture or power supply is damaged, consult a licensed electrical
professional for repairs.

USING THE TOUCH BUTTONS TO
CONTROL LIGHTS
The touch buttons are very sensitive, touch only with dry fingers
or the buttons may not register contact.
Unlocking the Touch Buttons
To keep your light safe from unwanted or
accidental changes to the light performance,
the touch buttons automatically lock after a
short period of no use. To unlock press the
up and down arrows simultaneously until
you here the light beep.The touch buttons
are now active. After 10 seconds of
non-use, the buttons will automatically lock
again. If you still need to do more adjust-
ments at the light, simply repeat the unlock-
ing process again.
On/Off Button
Touch the button to turn on the C-Ray
200. Touching the button again will shut the
light off. When the fixture is turned on it will
increase in brightness gradually to protect
the user’s eyes.
Moonlight Button
Touch the button to turn on the
moonlight.The array has four preset
brightness increments; 0, 1, 2, and 3.
Fill Light Button
Touch the button to turn on the fill
light strip. The strip has four preset
brightness increments; 0, 1, 2, and 3.
Intensity and Color Switch Button
Cycle through the light programs by using
the button.The fixture’s default
programs can be accessed and customized
through the downloadable app.

Cycle Color Up Button
This button has 6 preset brightness
increments; 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Cycle Color Down Button
This button has 6 preset brightness
increments; 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0.
Start Lamp
Connect the C-Ray 200 to the power adapter and plug it into a wall outlet.

INSTALLING THE HANGING KIT
DRIP
LOOP

Unscrew the bottom of the ceiling mount adapter and insert the
mounting screw into the top. Using the screw, securely attach the
adapter to a hard surface which is attached securely to a solid
beam or stud. Mounting the light directly into drywall, particle board,
or similar material may cause the fixture to come unsecured and fall.
If attaching directly to drywall without using a stud, using a heavy
duty drywall anchor is highly recommended. (Figure 1)
Feed the hanging wire, thin end first, through the bottom of the
ceiling mount adapter until the bulb is snug against the bottom.
Screw the bottom into the fastened ceiling mount adapter until it is
tightened snugly. (Figure 1)
Unscrew the bottom of the hanging kit adapter and feed the hanging
wire into the slot. Screw the bottom back into the hanging kit adapter
until it is secure. If adjustments are needed, partially unscrew the
bottom, adjust as desired, then re-tighten the screw. (Figure 2)
Tightly screw the two light attachment screws into the holes located
near the cooling fans on the top of the fixture. (Figure 2)
While pressing down on the thin shaft at the top of the hanging kit
adapter, feed the hanging kit wire through until it is set to the desired
length. Releasing the shaft will lock the wire in place. If adjustments
are needed, depress the locking shaft and raise or lower the light as
desired.
Once the light is securely mounted and all desired adjustments are
made, connect the light to the power adapter and plug into a power
source. Make sure to make a drip loop before the plug in the wall.

INSTALLING THE MOUNTING BRACKET
Attach bracket directly to aquarium

Securely fasten the upright to the aquarium attachment bracket.
(Figure 1)
Attach the mounting bracket to the upright. (Figure 2)
Put the aquarium attachment bracket over the tank rim and secure
with the included screws. (Figure 3)
Slide the attachment bar into the mounting guide (Figure 4) and
secure using the included screws. (Figure 4)
Fit the attachment bar into the mounting bracket and secure with the
included screws. (Figure 5)
Using the included wire clamp, secure the electrical wire to the
mounting bracket. (Figure 6)
Once the light is securely mounted and all desired adjustments are
made, connect the light to the power adapter and plug into a power
source. Make sure to make a drip loop before the plug in the wall.

1. Download and install the appropriate version of the control app to your
mobile device. Search “Cobalt” in your app store.
2. Make sure the light is connected to a power source.
3. Unlock touch buttons by pressing and simultaneously
until you here the light beep.
4. Turn on light by pressing the power button.
5. Press and simultaneously for 2 to 3 seconds until the
light makes a beeping sound.
6. Release buttons. Light is now in “Connect Directly to the Light Mode”.
IOS Operating System 9.3.1 or above is recommended.
IOS device open “Apple Store”. Search for and download
“Cobalt” App.
Android device open “Google Play”. Search for and
download “Cobalt” App.

7. On your mobile device go to settings, WiFi, then connect to the C-Ray WiFi
SSID by selecting the C-Ray 200-XXXX. The default password for the
C-Ray is 12345678 (Figure 1)
8. Go to the Cobalt app Home page and press the Connect drop down and
select Search Device. (Figure 2)
9. On the Search Device page, press the search icon to find the the light.

10. Once the light is detected select it and touch the check button. (Figure 4)
11. Press Connect button at bottom of page to complete connection to the
light fixture.

This setting can be used if both the mobile device and the C-Ray 200
have access to a wireless network. It allows the user to control multiple
lights at the same time and allows mobile device to keep internet access.
1. Download and install the appropriate version of the control app to your
mobile device. Search “Cobalt” in your app store to get the app.
2. Make sure the light is connected to a power source.
3. Connect your mobile device to the desired wireless router.
4. Unlock touch buttons by pressing and .
simultaneously until you hear the light beep. (Figure 1)
5. Turn on light by pressing power button. (Figure 2)
6. Press and simultaneously until light beeps to turn on wireless
router connect mode. The moonlights will flash then the light will
restart. (Figures 3 and 4)
7. After the light restarts two lights will flash indicating the light is ready
to connect.

Reminder: If you want to change
back to directly controlling
the light press and
simultaneously then follow
the directions as given above.
8. Open the C-Ray App home page and select the Connect to Router option in
the drop down menu. (Figure 1)
9. Follow the in app instructions and press next to enter the WiFi network and
password.
10. Press start to connect. If connection is successful the indicator lights will stop
flashing.
11. Go back to the Cobalt App main and press Connect drop down and select
Search Device. (Figure 3)
12. Once the light is detected select it and touch the check button. (Figure 4)
Press Connect button at bottom of page to complete connection to the light
fixture.
