| USER MANUAL | XXL-Rehab Transporter
Use
XXL- Rehab Transporter is a rigid steel frame wheelchair
constructed to suit bariatric users. It is designed for easy
indoor transport inside hospitals. The wheelchair can easily
be disinfected, and it is free of maintenance.
Using the XXL Rehab Transporter for individuals weighing
more than 325 kg may pose a risk of tipping or damaging
the transporter.
Do not use the wheelchair if the armrests are not properly
mounted.
Description
The XXL Rehab Transporter is designed for easy access and
safety for the bariatric user and the caregiver. The 24” rear
wheels are solid, provides stability and allows easy steering
and movement of the chair using minimal energy.
The wheelchair has a basket attached under the seat for
storing personal belongings during transit.
The inside width
The inside width of the XXL-Rehab Transporter is 71 cm.
Using a 5 cm high foam seat and 7 cm free space to the
armrests allows space for adipose tissue.
Solid footrests
The footrests can carry up to 100 kg each and are height
and side adjustable. The side adjustable feature makes
access to intimate hygiene possible and it ensures that
bariatric users with adipose tissue on the inside of the
thighs can sit in the wheelchair with legs apart (up to 110
cm) and still have foot support.
Functional armrests
The ability of bariatric users to reach far back to reach the
armrest can be limited. Therefore, the wheelchair is designed
with extra-long armrests with a length of 64 cm that sticks
out 7 cm from the seat base. This helps the user when
getting into the chair. The swing away armrests can be
removed.
Backrest
The space between backrest and seat has a clearance of
32 cm. The clearance provides good support to the lumbar
spine for users with a protruding behind. It also enables
the caregivers to reach for a sling under the user when
positioning.
Hand brakes
The wheelchair comes with two hand brakes, one on each
side. The hand brakes are mounted on the top frame.
The brakes can be accessed by both user and caregiver.
Both wheels must be locked with the wheel locks when the
user is getting in or out the transporter.
Before use
The armrests must be properly installed in the tubes on each
side of the transporter.
The width of the footrests is adjustable. The lock bolts
beneath the footrests must always be properly mounted in
the footrest tubes and must not be secured to the footrests
outside the tubes.
During use
The user can fall out of the wheelchair if the armrests are
not properly mounted.
Never stand on the footrests or use them as a platform
during transfers, as this will pose a high risk of tipping.
Always use the XXL-Rehab Transporter on level, hard
flooring with a maximum slope of 3 degrees, as otherwise
there is a risk of tipping.
Pinch hazards
Installing the armrests while the user is seated in the
transporter will present a pinch hazard between the
armrests and the side of the transporter.
There is a risk of pinching a foot between the footrests
if the lock bolts are not properly mounted in the footrest
tubes.

Maintenance and cleaning
The frame components and the seat and armrests can
be cleaned with water and a household detergent. To
thoroughly clean the seat: loosen the four screws under the
seat, clean and make sure to fasten the seat properly again.
The seat can be removed and disinfected with ethanol 70-
85% or a chlorine product minimum 1000 ppm and maxi-
mum 10000 ppm. After disinfecting, be sure to secure the
seat correctly.
Regularly check bolts and lock nuts and retighten if
required. Failure to inspect the bolts as directed may
cause functional failures.
Disposal
Products that can no longer be used are to be disposed
of in a sustainable way. Please contact local authorities for
information on proper disposal.
Warranty
When delivered, the XXL Rehab Transporter is free from
defects. Should, contrary to all inspections, there be any
defects or damage to the Transporter, please contact Cobi
Rehab immediately.
The XXL Rehab Transporter is covered by a 1-year warranty
from the date of purchase. The invoice serves as warranty
certificate.
The warranty does not apply to:
- products whose serial number, batch number etc. have
been removed or considerably damaged
- products that have been repaired by unauthorized staff
- normal wear and tear, for example cleaning, adjustment,
lubrication and update of equipment or parts.
The warranty is void if Cobi Rehab assesses that XXL Rehab
Transporter has been used for purposes other than its
intended use, for example, if its weight capacity is exceeded.
In case of incorrect use, both service and spare parts will be
invoiced.
The warranty described above is the only valid warranty.
