Operating Instructions
For optimal power, ensure the panel is directly facing the sunlight.
WARNING:
•Follow the below instructions carefully to not cause any bodily harm
•Correct polarity must be observed for product to function properly and safely
•Risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons if operating instructions are not followed
•Any misuse or tampering of the product and/or any included accessories will void warranty and may
cause bodily harm
•Follow all safety instructions provided by the battery manufacturer when handling 12V batteries. Always
wear safety glasses. Keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away from batteries at all times.
Installation:
Securely place the solar panel in the sun. Included mounting screws can be used if necessary for permanent
installation. To allow for heat dissipation, use a heat-resistant spacer between the panel and the surface, such as
the rubber washers included.
It is strongly recommended to use a charge controller with all solar panels over 15 watts (recommended
to use the Sunforce 8.5 Amp Solar Charge Controller (Model 60015)) to prevent battery from
overcharging. This item is sold separately.
Your 20 Watt Solar 12 Volt Battery Charger may also be installed using either the 12V DC Plug or Alligator
Battery Clamps.
(1) Installation through 12 Volt DC Plug:
Plug the 12V DC Plug into the 12 Volt DC socket in vehicle. Make sure both ends are secure and
aligned correctly. Ensure the panel is directly facing the sun. The 12V Socket in the vehicle must remain live
when the ignition is in the “off” position for the solar panel to charge.
(2) Installation to Battery by Alligator Clamps:
Connect the alligator clamps correctly by matching the red clamp which is Positive (+) to the Positive (+) terminal
on your battery. Connect the black Clamp which is Negative (-) to the Negative (-) terminal on your battery.
WARNING: Alligator clips must be placed on the battery in the aforementioned order. Wrong connections may
cause sparking or explosion.
Note: This solar panel has a built-in blocking diode to prevent discharge.

Maintenance Instructions: Cleaning of the glass may be performed by the user, utilizing a clean damp cloth. Any
other maintenance to the unit should be performed by qualified service professional or contact our experienced
customer service team.

What type of batteries can this panel charge?
All rechargeable 12V batteries like those used in Cars, Boats, RV’s and more.
Can I use this solar panel outdoors?
Yes, this solar panel is fully weatherproof.
How long does it take to charge a battery?
Actual charging time depends on many factors, such as, exposure to sun, battery capacity, voltage and battery
usage. For example; under ideal conditions, this panel will generate 20 watts x 7 hours per day for a total of 140
watt hours. You can connect multiple panels together to decrease overall charging time. By adding a second
panel of the same output, you will double your output, leading to half the length of the charge time.
How can I run AC appliances with my solar power panel?
You may connect the battery to a power inverter (sold separately) that converts DC power to AC power and run
your appliances from the inverter.
Can I overcharge my battery?
Yes, it is strongly recommended to use a Sunforce Solar Charge Controller to prevent the battery from
overcharging. This item is sold separately.
Can I extend the wire?
Without loss of power or voltage the 11.5’ wire may be extended to a maximum length of 25’ with 16 gauge wire.
Ensure proper connections.
How do I know if the panel is working?
To measure the voltage of the panel use a voltmeter. The voltage reading should be between 16 and 25 Volts
(open circuit) in full sun.
Can I start/drive my vehicle while the unit is connected to the battery?
No. For safety reasons, the use of this panel is NOT recommended while vehicle is in use.
Warranty
This product is covered by a five year limited warranty. Sunforce Products Inc warrants to the original purchaser
that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of one year from date of
purchase. Power output is warranted for five years from date of purchase. This warranty does not apply in the
event of misuse or abuse and/or repairs and alterations.

Mode d’emploi
Pour obtenir la puissance maximale, assurez-vous que le panneau pointe directement vers le soleil.
AVERTISSEMENT :

•La polarité doit être respectée pour que le produit fonctionne correctement et en toute sécurité.
•Des risques d’incendie, de chocs électriques et de blessures corporelles existent si le mode d’emploi
n’est pas suivi à la lettre.
•Toute utilisation abusive ou frauduleuse du produit et/ou de ses accessoires annulera la garantie et peut
causer des blessures corporelles.
•Suivez avec soin toutes les directives du fabricant des batteries lorsque vous manipulez les batteries de
12 volts. Portez toujours des lunettes de sécurité. En tout temps, maintenez éloignées des batteries les
sources d’étincelles, les flammes vives et les cigarettes.
Installation:
Montez le panneau solaire en plein soleil de manière sécuritaire. Les vis de montage incluses peuvent être
utilisées au besoin pour une installation permanente. Pour permettre la dissipation thermique, utilisez des cales
résistant à la chaleur entre le panneau solaire et la surface de montage, les rondelles de caoutchouc incluses par
exemple.
Il est fortement recommandé d’utiliser un régulateur de charge avec tous les panneaux solaires excédant
15 watts (il est recommandé d’utiliser le régulateur de charge solaire Sunforce de 8,5 ampères, modèle
60015) pour prévenir la surcharge de la batterie. Cet appareil est vendu séparément.
Votre chargeur solaire de 20 watts pour batteries de 12 volts peut aussi être installé en utilisant soit le
connecteur de 12 VCC, soit les pinces crocodiles pour batteries.
(1) Installation au moyen du connecteur de 12 volts CC :
Branchez le connecteur de 12 VCC dans la prise de 12 VCC du véhicule. Assurez-vous que les connexions aux
deux extrémités soient correctes, fermes et sécuritaires. Assurez-vous que le panneau pointe directement vers le
soleil. La prise de courant de 12 volts du véhicule doit demeurer sous tension lorsque l’allumage se trouve à la
position « OFF » (ARRÊT) pour que le panneau solaire charge la batterie.
(2) Branchement à la batterie au moyen des pinces crocodiles :
Installez les pinces crocodiles correctement en branchant la pince rouge [positive (+)] à la borne positive (+) de la
batterie et en branchant la pince noire [négative (-)] à la borne négative (-) de la batterie.
