Shortguidehowtostartusing IL-NT-GPRSmodule
CAUTION!:
Anymanipulation with plug-in moduleshallbe done with disconnected powersupplyto both controllerand
module. Powersupplyshallbe switched on alsoissame time to both moduleandcontroller. Failto follow
theseinstructions(powersupplyactiveonlyin controlleroronlyinmodule)can lead tomodule orcontroller
failure!
1. You will need one ofsupported ComAp controllers (IL-NT/IC-NT/ID-Lite), IL-NT-GPRS, antenna,
SIM card with GPRSservice and optionallyIL-NT-RS232 orIL-NT-S-USB module. Firmware
supporting IL-NT-GPRSmoduleisIL-NT2.0 orIL-NT-WSUPorselected customerbranches
(contact [e-mail] fordetails). It isavailablehere: http://www.comap.cz/products/detail/IL-
NT-GPRS/support/software/
2. ContactSIM card operatorforgetting GPRSAPN(APN =Access Point Name)name, username
and password. Some operator’sAPNsarelisted here: http://www.quickim.com/support/gprs-
settings.html#Australia orhere:
http://www.flexispy.com/Mobile%20APN%20Setting%20to%20use%20GPRS.htm
Example: APN Name =internet.t-mobile.cz, UserName =[blank], Password=[blank].
3. Make sure SIMcard doesnot requirePIN code. Ifitdoes, itispossibleto disableit inanycommon
networkunlocked mobiletelephone.
4. Powerup the ComAp controller.
5. EntercorrectAPN Name, APN UserName andAPN UserPass incontroller’ssetpoint group Comms
Settings.Set COM1Mode =DIRECT. Commssettingsaseverysepoint group are accessible by
PAGEbuttonfromanymeasurement screen on controller.Setpointscan be set oncontroller’sfront
panelkeyboard orbyLiteEdit4.5 and higher.
6. Switchoff ComAp controller.
7. PlacetheSIM cardinto sloton IL-NT-GPRScard, plugin the IL-NT-GPRScard into communication
slot on backside ofComAp controller.
8. Connect theantenna todesignated SMAconnector.
9. Connect powersupplyto IL-NT-GPRSmodule.It supports8-36VDC voltage.
10.Powerup the system(Controllerandmodule together).

11.Waitforapprox2 -4 minutesforfirst connection ofthe systemto AirGate. AirGatewill generate
automaticallytheAirGate ID value. Then navigate to last ofmeasurement screenswhereyou will
find signalstrength barandAirGate ID identifier.
Once thisAirGate ID isdisplayed, connection via AirGate wassuccesfull. Thisvalue willbeneeded
forLiteEditorWebSupervisorconnection. Kindlymake a note forfuture reference.

Add new gen-set dialog inWebSupervisor:
Shouldyouencounteranytroubleswith connection, checkthe faultcodeson the same screen and
find detaileddescription inDiagnosticcodeslistedlower.

Communication isnowreadyforuse.
Hint: To reduce the data trafficoverGPRSnetwork you can set in setpoint group„CommsSettings“
the parameter„AirGate IP“=80.95.108.26. Thiswill save significant data amount needed fortranslation
of Airgate serverIPaddress. In case of changing the serverIPaddress thissettingshasto be updated
orreturned to default„airgate.comap.cz“.
Hint: From it’snature the GPRSconnection can from time totime drop fora shorttimedue to a number
of reasonsaffectingthecellularnetwork. Howeverthe system isdesigned in the waythat controllerwill
automaticalyreconnectback.
Warning: AllmanipulationswithIL-NT-GPRSmodulehasto be donewith DC powersupplyswitched
off. Module can be onlypowered on while plugged in the controllerand togetherwith controller!
