IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ AND SAVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Re a d all instructions before using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If
provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as
furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the
heater.
3. E xtreme caution is n e c e s s a r y when an y heater is u sed by or n e a r children, pets or
invalids
and w h en ev er t h e h ea ter is left operating and unattended.
4. Use your heater only in dry environments. This heater is not intended for use in
bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never loc at e he a t er where it
may fall into bathtub or other water
container. Do not use your heater outdoors. Do not
use near sinks, swimming pools, or other damp areas such as flooded basements,
garages, etc. or anyplace where the heater could come in contact with water.
5. A heater has hot and ar c in g or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the area s where
gasolin e, paint, or f la m m a b le liquids a r e u sed or stored .
6. To disc onn ect heater, first turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
7. Always unplug he a ter by removing the plug end from the outlet when not in use.
Never unplug by pulling on the cord as this can damage the power cord.
8. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater
malfunc tion s, h as been dropped or d a m a g e d in an y m an n e r. R eturn h e a t e r to
authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment,
or repair.
9. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and cau s e
a risk of fire. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord shall
be No. 14
AWG minimum size and rated not less than 1875 watts. When using an extension cord, you
must fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not use the extension cord if the plug
can be properly connected.
10. Do not run co rd under carpeting. Do not cover co rd with throw rugs, runners, or similar
coverings. Ar ran g e co r d away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped o ver.
11. It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the

12. Do not insert or allow fo re ig n o b j e c t s to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this
may c a u s e an e lec tr ic sh o ck o r fire, or d a m a g e the heater.
13. To prevent a possible fire, do not b loc k air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not
use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
14. Do not operate heater with any safety guards removed.
15. Use this h e a ter only as de sc r ibe d in this manual. Any other use not recommended
by the
m an ufa c tu r er may c au s e fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
16. This heater draws 12.5 amps during operation. To prevent overloading a circuit, do
not
plug the h e a te r into a c ir cu i t that a l re a d y h as other a p p l i an c e s working .
17. The outpu t of this h e a te r ma y v a r y and its tem perature ma y b e c o m e intense enough to
burn e xposed skin. U se of this heater is not r e co m m e n d ed for persons
with
reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.
“SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS”
PLEASE READ BEFORE OPERATING
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully remove your heater from box. (Please SAVE the Box for off
season storage).
2. Make sure the heater is switched OFF before plugging the heater into the
outlet. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Note: The power cord
has a polarized plug (with one blade wider than the other) that will only fit
in a polarized outlet one way. If it does not insert easily try reversing the
plug. If it still does not fit contact your electrician to replace your outlet. DO
NOT defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
3. Place heater only on a firm level surface, free from obstructions and at
least 3 ft. away from any wall or other objects such as curtains, plants, etc.
4. Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high wattage appliances
in the same outlet.
HOW TO USE YOUR HEATER
1. Completely uncoil the cord and plug heater directly into a 110~120 Volt
grounded AC wall outlet. Be sure the plug fits tightly. A loose fit will cause
overheating and damage the plug. Plug and cord may feel warm during
normal usage. Avoid extension cords. (See # 9 above)
2. Choose your Power Setting:
High, Low, Fan or OFF. Use the HIGH setting to warm the room quickly.
After your comfort level has been achieved you may want to switch to the
LOW setting to conserve electricity.
3. Thermostat: Turn to highest setting until room is comfortable. Then slowly
rotate the knob counter clockwise (left) until the heater cycles OFF. At this
SET POINT the heater will cycle On and Off to maintain this comfort level.
FAN ONLY OPERATION
1. Simply turn the control knob to the FAN setting to enjoy the gentle breeze.
CAUTION
Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK
or injury to persons.

IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES
•The safety pilot light marked POWER is illuminated when the control is
turned to FAN, HIGH or LOW.
•This heater is equipped with an AUTOMATIC OVERHEAT SAFETY
DEVICE that will turn the heater OFF should the internal temperature of
the heater exceed normal levels. If this should happen, the RED Caution
light will illuminate. To reset this device simply unplug the heater for 30
minutes, clear any obstructions, set the heater on a level surface, then
follow the operating instructions found in this manual.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If your heater fails to operate, please do the following:
•Review these instructions to insure you understand the basic operations
and features of your heater. (Example: Overheat Protection)
•Check your circuit breaker or fuse for proper operation.
•Check for obstructions. Unplug the heater for 30 minutes, clear any
obstructions and restart the heater.
•Do NOT expect the heating coils to glow. A tint of orange may be
noticeable in places on the element away from the main air flow.
NEVER attempt to open or service the heater yourself. Doing so may cause
damage or personal injury. (See Warranty Card for more information)
CLEANING AND STORAGE
Dust, dirt, pet fur, etc can diminish your heaters performance and can lead to
unwanted odors. For best performance clean your heater frequently, at least
once per season. ALWAYS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG THE HEATER
BEFORE CLEANING.
•Turn Heater OFF, unplug it and wait for the heater to become cool.
•Use a dry cloth to clean only external surfaces of the heater.
•A vacuum with soft brush may used to clean louvered areas.
•Wrap and tie the cord to protect it from damage.
•Repack the heater in its original carton and store it in dry place.
