Chapter 1 Introduction
welcome to nutriblend
Congratulations on purchasing your Cooks Professional Nutri Blend Pro Blender –
the perfect addition to any kitchen, and to your healthy lifestyle!
Although the Nutri Blend is perfect for smoothies it can also be used to save time
in the kitchen when anything needs blending, mixing or pureeing; helping you to
get the most out of life as well as your food!
Check out our delicious recipes and start nutri blending today!
Before you start, have a look at our handy tips & hints for blending:
Soak hard ingredients like nuts, seeds & dried fruits to spare your machine undue
stress and enhance the texture of your dish.
Chop vegetables and grate fibrous food like carrots and ginger to limit street on
the motor.
Layer your ingredients – liquids should always come first followed by powdered
ingredients, soft foods, hard foods and finally ice.
Don’t overload the jug – if blending a large quantity, always do so in batches.
Always start at a low speed and work your way up. This will, again, protect the
motor and stop food from being sprayed up the sides of the jug.
Always process thick blends in short intervals (30 seconds) to avoid overheating.
When blending hot liquids allow them to cool first. Fill the jug halfway, place the
lid on, remove the lid plug and place a dish towel over the opening to allow steam
to escape.
Invest in spatulas – one broad, the other thin and narrow. The broad one is ideal
for shifting food mid-blend (motor off!) and the other for negotiating around the
blades.

or instruction concerning use by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. The appliance should only be repaired by a
qualifi ed electrician. Never try to repair it yourself. Unqualifi ed repairs may place the user at risk.
• Keep hands, loose clothing and other items away from the rotating blades.
• Do not use the appliance if the rotating blades are damaged.
• This appliance must never be operated via an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• Always use the original power cable supplied with the appliance.
• Make sure that the voltage on the rating label matches the mains power supply.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by your local electrical store to avoid a hazard.
• Make sure that the power cable and plug do not come into contact with water.
• Never use the appliance outdoors.
• Place the appliance on a fl at, stable, heat-resistant and splash-proof surface where it cannot fall.
• Make sure that your hands are dry when you touch the appliance, the power cable or plug.
• Do not immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or any other liquid.
• If the appliance malfunctions, switch off and unplug it from the mains power supply.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
• To disconnect from an electrical outlet, pull on the plug, not the power cable. To prevent the risk of
fi re, the appliance needs space to allow heat to escape. Make sure that the appliance has suffi cient
space around it. Do not allow the appliance to come into contact with fl ammable materials. The
appliance must not be covered.

before first use
Carefully unpack and remove all packaging materials. Check the contents to ensure
that all attachments and accessories are present and not broken or damaged.
WARNING: Do not touch the blades. Use extreme care when handling. Failure to
do so can result in personal injury.
• Half fill the jug with warm water and a few drops of washing-up liquid.
• Add the lid and lid plug.
• Switch the machine on, gradually increase the speed to MAX and run for 60 seconds.
• Turn off, remove jug, rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
• Remove lid and lid plug and wash, along with the tamper, in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry with a
soft cloth.
• The power base may be wiped with a damp cloth.
WARNING: Do not immerse the motor base or power cable in water. Do not put
any parts in the dishwasher.
Operating instructions
1. Place the power base on a flat, clean, dry countertop or table.
2. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
3. Set the jug on the power base and plug in to the require mains power outlet.
4. Add required ingredients and fit the lid on to the jug.
5. If using the jug plug, fit it in to the lid and turn to lock.
6. Making sure the variable speed dial is set to MIN, switch on the appliance
using the ON/OFF switch.
7. If more speed is required, slowly turn the dial towards MAX.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a powerful blender so it is always best to start on the
lowest setting before gradually increasing the speed.
8. If you need to push the ingredients towards the blade (e.g when crushing ice),
remove the jug plug and use the tamper.
9. When you have finished with the appliance. Turn the dial back down to MIN,
switch off using the ON/OFF switch and unplug from the mains power outlet.
WARNING: Never operate when the jug is empty.
Never overfill the jug.
Do not exceed the MAX line.
IMPORTANT: Always make sure to add enough liquid to make the ice cubes
float off the blades if crushing ice.

1/4 tsp probiotic powder (optional)

50g pine nuts
Large bunch of fresh basil
50g parmesan
150ml olive oil, plus extra for storing
2 cloves of garlic
Add all ingredients to the blender
and blend until slightly grainy.
If storing, transfer to a suitable
container, cover with a little extra oil
and place in the fridge. It will keep in
the fridge for up to two weeks.
TAPENADE
60ml extra virgin Olive Oil
130g chopped Kalamata Olives
120g chopped green olives
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 tsps of capers, drained and rinsed
3 tbsps of roasted red pepper, chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsps flat leaf parsley, finely chopped
Add all ingredients, in order, to the
blender and blend until combined
adding more oil if needed. You
can leave it chunky or blend until
smooth – the choice is yours! Taste
periodically and add more lemon
juice if needed.

WHITE BEAN AND
ARTICHOKE DIP
30ml extra virgin olive oil
30ml unsweetened almond or soy milk
1/2 can artichoke hearts, plain, rinsed and
well drained
1/2 can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
10ml lemon juice
3/4 tbsp diced onion
1 clove garlic, fi nely chopped
1 tsp fi nely chopped rosemary
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp of paprika
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Add all ingredients, in order, to the
blender and blend until smooth. You
can add 1 tbsp of water if the mixture
gets to thick. Cover and chill in the
fridge until needed.
ADDICTIVE
EDAMAME DIP
11/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
160g shelled raw edamame beans
25g baby spinach
30ml lemon juice
11/2 tbsp tahini
3/4 fi nely chopped white onion
1 clove garlic, fi nely chopped
Pinch ground cumin
Pinch red chilli fl akes
1/2 tsp salt
Add all ingredients, in order, to the
blender and blend until smooth. Taste
and adjust seasoning. If needed, you
can add more lemon juice, garlic chilli
fl akes or salt.
PEAR, APPLE AND
GINGER SPREAD
170g chopped pitted dates
2 pears, cored and chopped
2 green apples, cored and chopped
60ml lime juice
11/2 tbsp fi nely grated fresh ginger
Soak the dates in 600ml of water
for 2 hours. Put the dates and their
liquid and all other ingredients into
the blender and blend until smooth.
Strain the mixture through a fi ne
sieve over a bowl, stirring to remove
as much liquid as possible. Scoop
the spread out of the sieve and use
immediately or store in an airtight
container in the fridge for up to 5
days. The liquid tastes great diluted
with sparkling water (1 part liquid to 1
part water) and sweetened to taste.
LEMON & HERB
DRESSING
Olive oil
2 peeled lemon wedges
Fresh thyme
Fresh rosemary
Add all ingredients, in order, to
the blender and blend until nearly
smooth.
NO COOK
RASPBERRY JAM
30ml coconut water
40g chopped & pitted dates
1 tbsp chia seeds
160g fresh raspberries
Liquid sweetener (optional)
Add the coconut water and dates
to the blender and blend until the
dates have broken up. Add the chia
seeds and raspberries and blend until
you get a thick, preferably chunky,
consistency. If the jam is to tart,
add liquid sweetener to taste – don’t
overdo it or the jam will get too thin.
Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes
before use, it will thicken and the
fl avours will develop. Keep in the
fridge for up to 4 days.

VEGAN CAESAR
SALAD DRESSING
60ml unsweetened almond milk
60ml extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
30g blanched raw almonds, soaked
2 tbsp pine nuts, soaked
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
1 tbsp capers, drained and rinsed
1 tbsp white miso paste
1 tsp Dijon mustard
11/2 tsp wheat-free tamari
2 cloves finely chopped garlic
1/4 tsp salt
Add all ingredients, in order, to
the blender and blend until nearly
smooth. Chill in the fridge.
JAPANESE-STYLE
SALAD DRESSING
120ml of the liquid from Pear, Apple & Ginger
Spread
2 tbsp wheat-free tamari or soy sauce
60ml extra virgin olive oil
Add all ingredients, in order, to
the blender and blend until well
combined. This sauce is perfect
served with a salad of rocket,
cucumber, radish, tofu and
avocadoo.

60ml apple cider vinegar
60ml Fresh Tomato Ketchup (Condiments &
Sauces section) or your preferred brand
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp pure maple syrup
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp soy sauce
3/4 tsp dried tarragon
1/4 tsp chilli flakes
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Add all ingredients, in order, to the
blender and blend until smooth.
Taste, and if desired you can add
more garlic. Keep in the fridge until
ready to serve.

BROCCOLI
(SERVES 1)
80g of broccoli
1 clove of garlic
1/2 cup of chicken or vegetable stock
1/3 cup of non-fat yoghurt
Salt and pepper to taste
Pre-cook the broccoli and garlic
and prepare the stock. Add all
ingredients to the blender. Starting
off slowly, gradually increasing the
speed to MAX, blend until steaming
(approximately 5 minutes) and serve
immediately.
TOMATO
(SERVES 1)
12 cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 clove garlic
1/3 cup non fat plain Greek yoghurt
Add all ingredients to the blender.
Starting off slowly, gradually
increasing the speed to MAX,
blend until steaming (approximately
5 minutes) and serve immediately.

180ml water
215g peeled, seeded, diced cucumber
1 avocado peeled and chopped
1 handful of rocket
1 handful of coriander leaves finely chopped.
11/2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tbsp finely chopped spring onion
1 clove finely chopped garlic
1/4 tsp finely chopped chilli
1/2 tsp salt
Add all ingredients, in order, to the
blender and blend until smooth. Chill
for 2 hours. Serve each bowl with
a garnish of avocado slices, diced
cucumber and a sprinkle of coriander
leaves.

(SERVES 3)
800g roughly chopped watermelon, seeds
removed
150g diced tomato
70g peeled, seeded and diced cucumber

Add 320g of the watermelon to the
blender and blend until liquefied.
Pour in to a serving bowl. Add
the rest of the watermelon and

flavouring if needed by adding more

BEEF (OR TURKEY) BURGERS
(MAKES 2 LARGE OR 3-4 SMALLER BURGERS)
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until mixed thoroughly. Form burgers
from the mixture using your hands and either grill or fry in a frying pan with some
vegetable oil until cooked through and serve.
250g beef mince (or turkey)
1 onion
1 slice of bread (crust is best)
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Ground pepper to taste
HAM & CHEESE OMELETTE
(SERVES 1)
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until well mixed. Pour into a preheated
pan sprayed with cooking oil spray and cook until don.

GLUTEN-FREE
PANCAKES
(MAKES 4 PANCAKES)
120ml Unsweetened
almond milk
1 tbsp coconut oil in
liquid form
11/2 tbsp pure maple
syrup
1 tsp apple cider
vinegar
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
125g plain, gluten-free
flour
15g tapioca flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp white or black
chia seeds
1/2 mashed banana
Add the milk, oil, syrup, vinegar and
vanilla to the tall tumbler; attach the
cross blade and mix until smooth. In
a bowl, combine the flours, baking
powder, baking soda, salt and seeds in
a large bowl with a fork. Add the dry
ingredients and the banana to the wet
ingredients in the blender and blend
until just combined. Do not overblend
or the mixture will become too thick.
Heat a frying pan to medium-low and
grease with some coconut oil. Cook
for 4 minutes, flip, then cook for 3.
These pancakes take longer to cook
than traditional pancake, but don’t
be tempted to flip them too early or
they’ll go soggy in the middle. Serve
with your favourite toppings.
BERRY GOOD FOR
YOU BREAKFAST
(SERVES 2)
360g young Thai
coconut meat
3 tbsp coconut water
1/2 tsp probiotic
powder
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon juice
5 drops liquid
sweetener
40g roughly chopped
almonds
1 tbsp sunflower seeds
1 tbsp shredded
coconut
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tsp shelled hemp
seeds
2 tsp white or black
chia seeds
2 tsp ground flaxseeds
160g raspberries
80g sliced strawberries
170g blackberries
Add the coconut meat and water to the
blender and blend until smooth. Stir in
the probiotic powder. Pour in to a glass
bowl, cover and leave to stand at room
temperature for 8 hours. Then stir in
the vanilla, lemon juice and sweetener.
To assemble your breakfast, combine
the almonds, shredded coconut,
sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds
in one bowl. In another, combine the
hemp seeds, chia seeds and flaxseeds.
Get 2 (415ml) highball glass and evenly
cover the bottom of the glasses with
the raspberries, add half the almond
& coconut mixture and top with half
the cream. Place half the strawberry
sliced on the cream and sprinkle on
the seed mix. Add the remaining cream
and top with the blackberries. Serve
immediately or chill in the fridge for a
maximum of 2 hours.
MANGO, CHILLI &
LIME GRANITA
(SERVES 3)
120ml coconut water
320g fresh chopped mango
11/2 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp finely grated lime zest
Pinch finely chopped green chilli
Add all ingredients to the blender
and blend until smooth. Taste and
add more chilli if you wish. Transfer
to a baking dish, cover and freeze
for 1 hour. Remove from the freezer
and stir with a fork, mashing up any
frozen bits. Recover and freeze
for another 2 hours. Using a fork,
scrape to form icy flakes and serve in
glasses.
EASY CITRUS
PUDDING
(SERVES 4)
80ml light agave nectar
120ml lemon juice
120ml lime juice
2 ripe avocados, pitted and peeled
2 chopped bananas
1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
1 tsp finely grated lime zest
Add all ingredients to the blender and
blend until smooth. Taste and add
more sweetener if you wish. Divide
between serving dishes and chill for 3
hours. Serve the same day.
