USE
1. Place the bread pan in position; turn clockwise until it is
securely located. Fix the kneading blade onto the drive shaft.
It is recommended to coat the kneading blade with butter or
margarine to avoid the dough sticking to the kneading blade, also
this makes the kneading blade easier to remove once baking is
complete.
2. Place ingredients into the bread pan. Please keep to the order in
the recipe. Usually the water or other liquid substance first, then
add sugar, salt and flour. Always add yeast or baking powder last.
3. Note: Please use the quantities of flour and yeast from the recipe.
One important step in making good bread is ensuring the correct
amounts of ingredients are used. It is strongly advised to use the
measuring cup or measuring spoon to obtain accurate amounts,
otherwise the results may be disappointing.
4. Make a small indentation on top of the flour with a finger, add
yeast into the indentation. Ensure it does not come into contact
with the liquid or salt.
5. Close the lid gently and plug the bread maker in.
6. Press the Menu button until your desired program is selected.
7. Press the START/STOP button to begin.
8. For the Basic program, a long beep sound will be heard during
the operation. This is to prompt you to add further ingredients.
Carefully open the lid and pour in the required ingredients.
9. Once the process has been completed 10 beeps will be heard.
Open the lid and while using oven mitts, firmly grasp the bread
pan handle and gently remove the pan from the machine.
10. Caution: the bread pan and bread will be very hot! Always handle
with care.
11. Let the bread pan cool down before removing the bread. Then use
a non-stick spatula to gently loosen the sides of the bread from
the pan.
12. Turn bread pan upside down onto a wire cooling rack or clean
surface and gently shake until bread falls out.
13. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes before slicing.
14. If you are away from the machine when it finishes the program, or
have not pressed the START/STOP button at the end of operation,
the bread will be kept warm automatically for 1 hour and then the
bread maker will automatically turn off.
15. When not in use, please unplug the power cord.
Note: Before slicing the loaf, use the hook to remove the kneading
blade which may be hidden in the bottom of the loaf. The loaf may be
hot; never use your unprotected fingers to remove the kneading blade.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Quick bread making
Quick breads are made with baking powder and baking soda, activated
by moisture and heat. For perfect quick breads, it is suggested that all
liquid be placed in the bottom of the bread pan, and dry ingredients on
top. During the initial mixing, dry ingredients may collect in the corners
of the pan. It may be necessary to use a rubber spatula to tease the
clumps out of the corners.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the bread maker from the wall socket and let it cool down prior
to cleaning.
Note: the pan and the kneading blade are dishwasher safe.
Bread pan and blade: Clean the inside of the pan with detergent and
warm water, do not use an abrasive cleaner or scourer as damage will
occur to the nonstick coating, dry thoroughly.
Housing: gently wipe the outer surface of housing with a wet cloth. Do
not use an abrasive cleaner to clean as this would scratch the surface.
Never immerse the housing, cable or plug into water for cleaning.
Before the bread maker is packed away for storage, ensure that it has
completely cooled, and is clean and dry, and correctly assembled.
