Bed Rail 10900 Instructions for Use

Intended Use
The Easy Fit Bed Rail has been designed to provide a stable support for users getting in and out of bed. The
innovative shape of the ergonomic handle easily and comfortably enables the users lifting action from lying to
sitting and from sitting to standing. The design of the base allows for use on most divan and slatted beds, and
comprises four anti slip collars to increase stability in use.
The product is suitable for users up to a maximum weight of 30st (190kg) and can be quickly and easily fitted
and removed, the product also separates for easy transportation and storage. The product is easy to clean and
can be autoclaved to 80°C.

Unpacking
The product is supplied flat packed and requires assembly before use.
No tools are required.
Remove the product from its packaging; check for damage. If you see any, or suspect a fault, do not
assemble the product; contact your supplier immediately.

Safety Precautions
This device is suitable for adult use only.
It is not suitable for use with young children.
It is not designed for use with profiling beds.
Please ensure the user does not exceed the maximum weight 190kg (30 stones).
Ensure the mattress is resting firmly against the bed rail handle.
Check the bedrail is in the correct position and is stable and secure before use.
Installation Instructions
Positioning the Easy Fit Bed Rail
The position of the device (which should ideally be based on a clinical assessment) should be such that when
placed under the mattress with the handle fitted, the client (from a lying position) should be able to reach the
handle without stretching.
Important safety note: There must be a gap of at least 250mm from the headboard to the Bed Rail, and the
mattress should rest against the handle of the grab rail when fitted to reduce the risk of head/limb
entrapment.

Assembly Instructions
Slot both ends of the Bed Rail base into the handle &
secure with the e-clips, as shown in diagram 2.
Installation –Divan Beds
Remove mattress and place the bed rail base onto
the divan base.
Make sure the minimum gap between the Bed
Rail and headboard is at least 250mm.
Place mattress on top of bed rail.
Check the rail is stable and secure before use.
Installation –Slatted beds
The Easy Fit Bed Rail is fitted with anti-slip tubing.
Remove mattress and place the bed rail onto
slatted bed. Make sure the minimum gap
between rail and headboard is at least
250mm.
Place mattress on top of bed rail.
Check the rail is stable and secure before use.

Product Maintenance & Cleaning:
Clean regularly, wiping down with a soft cloth and mild detergent/disinfectant solution.
Do not use abrasive cleaners.
This product can be autoclaved (pressure sterilised) up to 80° C.
Inspect on a regular basis that this product is stable and rigid.
Check clips are fitted correctly and the bed rail is positioned correctly on the bed.
DISPOSAL
•Dispose of all packaging, paper, cartons and plastic, plastic bags in accordance with your local recycling
regulations.
•At the end of the product’s lifespan please dispose of it at an authorised household WEEE waste
recycling centre.
