When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Inspect tool cords periodically and if damaged have them repaired by an authorised service facility.
Maintain tools with care.
Keep work area clear, cluttered work areas and benches invite injuries.
Do not use in damp or wet locations.
Keep work area well lit.
Do not use tools in the presence of flammable liquids or gasses.
Guard against electric shock – avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. Pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators).
Store idle tools.
Do not force small tools to do the job of a heavy duty tool.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, they can be caught in moving parts.
Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
Use protective glasses, dust masks and eye equipment (if work environment creates dust).
Never yank the cord to disconnect it from the socket.
Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not operate machinery when tired or after the consumption of alcohol.
Do not place on or near heat sources, and use the Electric Sharpener on a level, stable surface.
Do not use this appliance for any other use than the intended use it is designed for.
Ensure there is sufficient distance between the sharpener and other items on the work surface or
work station, or sufficient distance between the sharpener and the confines of the area in which it is
situated. We recommend a minimum clearance around all faces of at least 10cm.
Before use, check thoroughly for any defects and do NOT use if defects are found. Take care not to
drop the appliance as heavy impacts may cause internal damage.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
