PRODUCT OVERVIEW
SWITCHING YOUR RADIO ON FOR THE FIRST TIME
AC OPERATION
1. Insert the DC power plug of AC/DC adaptor to the DC input socket located at the rear of the radio.
2. Plug the AC/DC Adaptor to the AC mains outlet and switch ON.
3. Press the power button to turn the radio on.
Remarks: Only use with the mains adaptor with 6v dc output voltage as provided to avoid electrical damage to
the radio or household mains supply.
DC (BATTERY) OPERATION
1. Ensure the AC/DC adaptor is disconnected from the radio and AC mains.
2. Install the batteries (4×1.5V UM3/AA battery) into the battery compartment (not provided).
3. Press the power button to turn the radio on.
Remarks: To obtain the best performance in DC operation, the use of alkaline batteries is highly recommended.

MENUS
Press MENU button to enter into the “MENU”. Rotate SEARCH Control to navigate the desired option, then press
SELECT button to confirm.
SETTING THE CLOCK
The clock in this radio is equipped to receive a DAB radio frequency time signal. After the unit has been turned on,
it will automatically tune into a DAB radio station and update the clock. It may be necessary to wait for 1-2
minutes to allow the unit to receive the time signal. If the area will only receive an FM signal it will be necessary
to manually set the clock.
Set the clock in STANDBY mode
1. Insert the AC/DC adaptor into the power socket at the rear of the radio. Plug the adaptor into the mains supply
socket.
2. The display backlight will illuminate for a few seconds, a welcome message (F.1) will appear in the display
briefly and the clock will be displayed “00:00:00 Time is not set” will be displayed.
3. In standby mode, press the ALARM/SNOOZE button, display will show “Time is not set” then the hour digits
will flash in the display, rotate the SEARCH control to set the correct hour, then press the SELECT button to
confirm.
4. The minute digits will now flash, rotate the SEARCH control to set the correct minute.
5. Later you will enter to “set date 1-1-2014”. Rotate the SEARCH control to set date and press SELECT button to
confirm again.

Set the clock in working mode
1. Connect the radio to AC mains (via AC/DC adaptor), then press power button to turn the radio on.
2. Press MENU button, rotate the SEARCH control until the display show “System”, then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
3. Continue to rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows “Time” and then press the SELECT button to
Confirm, the LED display will show “<Set Time /Date>” press the SELECT button again to confirm.
4. The hour digits will flash in the display, rotate the SEARCH control to set the correct hour, then press the
SELECT button to confirm.
5. The minute digits will now flash, rotate the SEARCH control to set the correct minute.
6. Later you will enter to “set date 1-1-2014”. Rotate the SEARCH control to set date and press SELECT button
to confirm again.
BASIC OPERATION - GETTING STARTED
1. Press the power button to turn the unit on, it will automatically enter into the DAB mode and perform auto
scan function. During the scan the display will show “Scanning…” together with a slide bar that indicates the
progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far.(F.1) (F.2).
2. Once the scan has finished, the radio will select the first alphanumerically found station. You can now
rotate the SEARCH control to explore the found stations followed by pressing the SELECT button to select
listening to the stations.
Note: If there is no stations found after auto scan, the radio will display "Full Scan", you can now rotate the
SEARCH control to select “Manual tune” or “Full scan” for stations, and press SELECT button to finally
confirm.
DAB Auto Scan
The auto scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels, After the scan has finished, the first
alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected.
1. To activate auto scan, press MENU button, rotate the SEARCH control to enter into the Menu to select “Full
scan”, finally press the SELECT button to confirm, the display will show “Scanning…” together with a slide bar
that indicates the progress of the scan. (F.3)
2. All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically, to explore the stations that have been
found, rotate the SEARCH control and when you find a station that you would like to listen to, press the SELECT
button.
DAB Manual tune
1. To select manual tune, press MENU button, rotate the SEARCH control to select “Manual tune”.(F.4) And
press the SELECT button to confirm.
2. Rotate the SEARCH control to move through the DAB channels, the display will show “5A to 13F” and their
associated frequencies. (F.5)
3. When your desired frequency appears in the display, press the SELECT button to listen, the name of the
station group (ensemble/multiplex) will be displayed.

Prune
You may remove all unavailable stations on the station list.
1. During DAB mode, press MENU button and then rotate the SEARCH control to select “Prune”. And press the
SELECT button to confirm.
2. Rotate the SEARCH control to select <Yes> to confirm delete. Or select <No> to cancel. Press the
SELECT button to confirm the setting.
DAB display modes
Every time you press the INFO button, the display will cycle through the following display modes:
Signal Strength, Programme Type, Ensemble Name, Channel number/frequency, Signal error, Audio Bit Rate,
Power status (Mains/Battery), Time and Date.
Signal Strength
This shows a slide bar to indicate the signal strength, the stronger the signal, the longer the bar will be from left to
right.
Programme Type
This describes the “style” or “genre” of the programme that is being broadcast.
Ensemble Name
The Ensemble/Multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are bundled and transmitted together in a single
frequency. There are national and local multiplexes, local ones contain stations that are specific to that area.
Channel number / frequency
This displays the Channel number/frequency of the present station, such as “11C 220.352MHz”.
Signal error
Show the stability and quality of signal reception, the best representation for 0.
Audio Bit Rate
The display will show the digital audio bit rate being received.
Power status
Display the power supply is adaptor or battery. If the power supply is battery, the display will show the battery
capacity (21-100). When the battery is less than 20, the display will show battery is low.
Time / Date
This displays the current time and date provided automatically by the broadcaster.

FM radio
1. To select FM, press the MODE button, the display will show FM and the frequency.
2. To activate auto search, press SELECT button or rotate and hold the SEARCH control anticlockwise or
clockwise until the radio starts to scan the frequency band, the display will show “Scanning …“ (F6) and it will
stop automatically once a station has been found.
3. To search manually, rotate the SEARCH control in the desired direction to increment the frequency by
0.05MHz. If reception is still poor adjust the position of the antenna or try moving the radio to another
location.
Scan setting
During FM mode, press the MENU button and then rotate the SEARCH control to select “Scan setting” finally
press the SELECT button to confirm. Rotate the SEARCH control to select “All stations/Strong stations only”. Press
the SELECT button to confirm the setting.
Audio setting
FM is able to search for Stereo or Mono stations.
1. Press the MENU button, then rotate the SEARCH control to select "Audio setting", and press SELECT to
confirm.
2. Rotate the SEARCH control to select "Stereo allowed" or "Forced mono", and press SELECT to confirm.
Note:
The radio will automatically switch between stereo and mono mode, but you can override this and switch this
function manually which is helpful for poor signal reception.
FM display modes
Every time you press the INFO button, the display will cycle through the following display modes: Radio Text,
Programme Type, Frequency, Audio Type, Power status (Mains/Battery), Time and Date.
Radio Text
This displays the information about the current programme.
Programme Type
This describes the “style” or “genre” of the programme that is being broadcast.
Frequency
This displays the frequency of the present station, such as “87.8MHz”.
Audio Type
This displays if the station being received is in mono or stereo.

Power status
Display the power supply is adaptor or battery. If the power supply is battery, the display will show the battery
capacity.
Time
This display the current time provided automatically by the broadcaster.
Date
This display the current date provided automatically by the broadcaster.
STORING AND RECALLING STORED STATIONS
This function allows up to 10 stations to be programmed into the memory and stored in both DAB and FM mode.
1. To store a preset, first tune to your desired station, then press and hold the PRESET button for longer than
2 seconds ,the display will show the “Preset Store <#:(Empty)>” (F7).
2. Rotate the SEARCH control to select your desired station preset number.
3. Press the SELECT to confirm your selection, the station now broadcasting has now been stored in the
selected location (F8).
4. To listen to the preset stations, press the PRESET button once and then rotate the SEARCH control to select
the desired preset location. And press the SELECT button to confirm. (F.9) The station name or frequency
and preset location number will be displayed in the lower half of the display. If the preset has not been
allocated ‘Preset Recall #: (Empty)’, “Preset empty” will be shown in the display.
Notes:
If the unit is disconnected from the mains supply for any length of time and the batteries are not installed, the
programmed stations will be lost.
SETTING ALARMS (AC OPERATION ONLY)
1. Alarm will only function when the product is on Mains power. Attempting to enter Standby mode when
powered only by battery will turn the product off.
2. An active alarm is indicated by its icon in the top line of the display in standby mode.
3. Alarms can be switched on or off in standby mode. However, the alarm parameters can only be set when
the product is on.
4. To set or change alarm 1, press ALARM/SNOOZE button once, then press the SELECT button. (F.10)

5. To set or change alarm 2, press the ALARM/SNOOZE button twice, then press the SELECT button.
6. To exit alarm setting mode, press the ALARM/SNOOZE button again.
7. The alarm setup prompts you for the following parameters. Select a value for each parameter in rotating the
SEARCH control and press the SELECT button to confirm and move on to the next parameter.
8. Parameters
- On Time –Hours and minutes
- Duration (minutes) - 15/30/45/60/90
If the alarm is not cancelled product returns to standby after this time period.
- Source- Buzzer/DAB/FM
If DAB or FM is chosen as the audio source you will also be prompted to select the last played station
or one of the preset station (if set)
- Daily/Once/Weekends/Weekdays
Choose the days on which the alarm is active
Note: if you choose “Once”, you are prompted to enter the required date.
- Volume –Rotate the SEARCH control increase or decrease the volume you desired
This is the volume the alarm will build up to. (Initially the alarm sounds at a low volume and
gradually gets louder to the set volume)
- Alarm –Off/ On
- In standby mode, active alarms are indicated by displaying the relevant Alarm 1 and or Alarm 2
icons.
- At the set time, the alarm will sound, quietly at first, then gradually building up to the set volume.
When an alarm sounds.
To turn alarms on or off in standby mode
1. Press the ALARM/SNOOZE button, the display shows the current alarm status. To switch the alarms on or
off.
2. Press the ALARM/SNOOZE button repeatedly to cycle through four states as shown below. (F.11)
3. To choose the display Alarm status, press the SELECT button to confirm.
Note 1:
If you have activated the alarm function and the wake up mode is DAB or FM, make sure that the
alarm volume level is set at a sufficient level for you to hear.
Note 2:
If one alarm arrive while the other is in snooze mode, snooze mode will be cancelled.

SNOOZE (AC OPERATION ONLY)
1. To temporarily silence a sounding alarm, press the ALARM/SNOOZE button once, you can change the
snooze period by repeatedly pressing the ALARM/SNOOZE button, Snooze periods are 5 or 10
minutes. The radio returns to standby for the set time period with Snooze countdown displayed. When the
countdown reaches 0(zero) the alarm triggered again. (F.12) (F.13)
2. Press the POWER button to fully cancel a sounding alarm and switch the ratio to standby.
SLEEP (AC OPERATION ONLY)
This function allows you to program the unit to switch off by itself after a set period of time.
1. Press the SLEEP button once. You can choose the sleep time:
Sleep Off/10/20/30/60/70/80/90 minutes (F14).
Rotate the SEARCH control to cycle through the options or press the SLEEP button repeatedly, then press the
SELECT button to choose the displayed option.
2. Or press the MENU button, then rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows ‘System’, and press the
SELECT button to confirm. Rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows “Sleep” then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
3. Rotate the SEARCH control so that you can choose the sleep delay time from: Sleep Off/10/20/30 /60/70/
80/90 minutes and then press the SELECT button to confirm. (F.14).
4. To check the sleep interval remaining, rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows “Sleep’, then press
the SELECT button to check.
5. To cancel the sleep timer, press the MENU button, then rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows
‘System’, and press the SELECT button to confirm. Rotate the SEARCH control until the display shows
“Sleep”, then press the SELECT button to confirm. Rotate the SEARCH button to select “Sleep Off”, then
press SELECT button to confirm.
