The PT-AMFM is an AM/FM tuner for a Prodigy®system.
Crestron®radio technology delivers easy control and a crystal
clear signal in an easy to integrate package.
• Station, artist and song information (when available) is
displayed on any Prodigy®touch screen
• Select favorite stations from any touch screen around the
house
• Station presets provide instant access to favorite programs
• Whole home audio distribution made easy - add the PT-AMFM
to a Prodigy system (existing AV receiver or a PAMP-4X100

Notes on Antenna Orientation:
AM: Orient the AM loop antenna so
that the flat surface of the loop
antenna faces the metropolitan area
originating the broadcast signals. This
is particularly necessary when signals
are weak. If you are not aware of the
source or directions of the signals to
which you will listen, simply rotate the
loop antenna in clear space for
maximum signal strength. The
supplied antenna has a folding stand
that allows the antenna to stand on a
flat surface.
FM: The recommended FM antenna is
an outdoor type available in electronics
stores. Use the included FM antenna if
an outdoor antenna cannot be used.
The included antenna may require
reorientation if the signal is weak. Best
results can occur if the length of the
antenna faces the metropolitan area
from which the desired FM signal
originates. The supplied antenna has a
fitting at its end that will enable you to
fasten it in place.

As Crestron improves functions, adds new features and extends the capabilities of the
PT-AMFM, additional information may be made available as manual updates. These
updates are solely electronic and serve as intermediary supplements prior to the release
of a complete technical documentation revision.
Check the Crestron Web site periodically for manual update availability and its relevance.
Updates are identified as an “Addendum” in the Download column.
Troubleshooting
TROUBLE POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) CORRECTIVE ACTION
Tuner muted. Antenna not connected or not
connected properly.
Connect antenna according to instructions.
Improper antenna connection. Verify proper antenna connection.Noisy AM/FM
reception.
For Regulatory Compliance information, refer to the latest
version of Doc. 7178.
Improper Net ID. Verify Net ID matches Net ID in the Prodigy
Composer.
NET LED does not
illuminate.
Either connect or remove chassis ground
(G) connection.
Hum or buzz in
audio.
Grounding problem.
3Application
The following diagram illustrates a PT-AMFM in a system with other Prodigy devices.
NOTE: Use the Prodigy Composer software (available for download from www.crestron.com/prodigycomposer) to configure
your Prodigy system. A Prodigy Network Setup Wizard is included with Prodigy Composer. Before a PT-AMFM can be used,
it must first be integrated into a Prodigy system. Launch the Prodigy Network Setup Wizard and follow the steps in the
process. When the PT-AMFM is recognized, the front panel will instruct you to push a button. Press any button on the front
panel of the PT-AMFM to complete the process.
AM/FM scan does
not operate.
Station signal strength too weak. Check antenna placement and orientation
for good signal strength.

4Tuning/Presets
To tune and store a preset station:
1. Select a tuner by pressing AM or FM.
2. Press jor kto tune a station.
3. Press MENU.
4. Press jor kuntil Presets is displayed.
5. Press ENTER to display the list of presets.
6. Press jor kuntil the desired preset location is displayed.
7. Press and hold ENTER for three seconds until the Saving Preset message is displayed.
