2. PROGRAMMING TO CONTROL TV, DVB-T & OTHER DEVICES
2.1 Programming Control for TV Devices
You can program the URC-601 remote, to control your TV using the following ways:
2.1.1 Code Input programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
with the Crypto URC-601 remote control. Hold
the remote in a straight line in front of your TV at
a distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold on the remote the device mode
button for about 3 seconds until the red
light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the
TV code list (Appendix C).
4. Press the POWER button If the TV turns
off then the code is correct. If the TV remains on
please follow the above steps 2-4 once more and
enter the other four-digit code of your brand until
you find the appropriate code that will make the
device to be turned off.
Attention: When a manufacturer has more than
one code you must note the codes and try them
one by one. Find which of the codes controls
your TV and uses the most functions and use
that one.
Note: If no key is pressed within 30 seconds
from the moment the red light of the button
turns on, or another key other than number has
been pressed, the button will turn off and
the programming process will be canceled.
Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, check to see if most of
the buttons are working according to the functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.1.2 Manual code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
with the Crypto URC-601 remote control. Hold
the remote in a straight line in front of your TV at
a distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold down the remote device
mode button for about 3 seconds until the
red light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Press the button or the button one
step at a time until your TV turns off. Every time
you press the or buttons the
button will blink once
4. When the TV turns off it means that the
remote have found the correct code for your TV.
5. Press the button to store the code. The
button light will turn off.
Note:
•
At step 3 you can hold down or
button constantly until the TV turns off. Attention:
W
hen the TV turns off you must release the
button immediately so that the remote wont go to
t
he next code.

For this feature you can press to search
f
orward and to search backward the code
libraries in the remote control.Given the size of
t
he code libraries in the remote control, it will take
several minutes to cycle through all the codes

2.1.3 Automatic code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
with the Crypto URC-601 remote control. Hold
the remote in a straight line in front of your TV at
a distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button for about 3 seconds until the red
light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Press the POWER button
4. The button will blink continuously in red
meaning that the remote is searching for the
code of your TV.
5. When the remote finds your TV code the TV
will turn off.
Attention: When the TV turns off you must
immediately press the button to avoid the
remote to go to the next code.
6. By pressing the button you have
already stored the code. The button light
will turn off.
Note: This automatic search can be finished without finding an appropriate code for
your TV.In that case the button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.
Given the size of the code libraries in the remote control, it will take several minutes
to cycle through all the codes
Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have stored on the remote the correct code, check to see if most of the
buttons are working according to the functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.1.4 Brand code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program
to work with the Crypto URC-601 remote
control. Hold the remote in a straight line
in front of your TV at a distance less than
1 meter.
2. Press and hold down at the same time
the button and the number from 0 to
9 that corresponds to the brand of the TV
according to the brand search list in
Appendix A
3. After 2 seconds the button will
start blinking
4. When your TV turns off release both
buttons so that the remote stores the
code.
Attention: When the TV turns off you
must immediately release both buttons so
to avoid the remote to go on the next
code.
Note:
This search can be finished without finding an appropriate code for your TV.In that
case the button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.
Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have stored on the remote the correct code, check to see if most of the
buttons are working according to the functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.1.5 Flash code search programming
This feature can only be used for TV, SAT and STB devices.
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
with the Crypto URC-601 remote control. Hold the
remote in a straight line in front of your TV at a
distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold the mute button. After 3
seconds the button will start blink quickly
4. When the TV change channel release the mute
button. The button will start blink slower.
4. When the TV changes channel again press the
button to store the code
Attention: When the TV changes channel for the
second time, press the button immediately to
avoid the remote to go to the next code.
Note:
This search can be finished without finding an
appropriate code for your TV.In that case the
button will stop blinking and your TV will remain
on.
Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have stored on the remote the correct code, check to see if most of the
buttons are working according to the functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.2 Programming Control for DVB-T Devices
You can program the URC-601 remote, to control your DVB-T in the following ways:
2.2.1 Programming CRYPTO DVB-T
1. Turn on your Crypto DVB-T you want to program to
work with the URC-601 remote control. Hold the remote
in a straight line in front of your device at a distance less
than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button for about 3 seconds until the red light
indicator lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the Crypto
DVB-T code list (Appendix B).
Note:
•If no key is pressed within 30 seconds from the
moment the red light of the button turns on, or
another key other than number has been pressed,
the button will turn off and the programming
process will be canceled.
•For all Crypto DVB-T's the button on the URC-
601 remote control, will control the volume of your
TV.
With this, you can control the sound of your TV without
having to switch from DVB-T mode to TV mode.
Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, using the above
method, check to see if all the buttons are working according with the functions of your
Crypto DVB-T.
2.2.2 Programming other DVB-T
To program the remote, to control other DVB-T devices you must use the Learn
function feature that is described in chapter 3.
Note: If you want to program another DVB-T device , and you want to control the
sound of your TV by using the button like Crypto’s DVB-T, use the LEARN method
and program the button using the remote control of your TV and learn the buttons
that change the sound of your TV. With this, you can control the sound of your TV
without having to switch from DVB-T mode to TV mode.

2.3 Programming other devices
To program other devices such as DVD, STB, SAT, AUX (CD, HIFI) follow the
methods of programming described in Chapter 2.1
Note: The complete list of all devices codes is available at our website
www.cryptoelectronics.gr.
3. LEARN FUNCTION OPERATION GUIDE
The learn function on the URC-601 remote control allows to program the keys one by
one to learn to behave like the original remote control of your device.
As an example, below is a method of programming a DVB-T using the learn function.
Just follow the steps:
1. Turn on your DVB-T you want to program to
work with the Crypto URC-601 remote control.
2.Press DVB-T button once
3. Press the learn button for about 3 seconds
until the DVB-T button blink continuously in
red color.
4. Press on the URC-601 the key that you want to
program and learn. The red indication light of the
DVB-T will light red constantly and stop
blinking.
5. Bring the original remote opposite to the URC-
601 and at a distance of 3 to 5 cm in such way so
that the infrared windows are facing one another.
6. To continue press on the original remote that
you have for the DVB-T the key that you want the
URC-601 to learn. Keep it pressed until the red
indication light on the DVB-T starts blinking
again. Then you can release the button and its
function will already be learned to the URC-601.
Follow steps 4 το 6 again and again for each
button you wish to learn on the remote

Note:
•If no key is pressed within 30 seconds the red
light indication will blink twice and turn off.
•During the learn process all buttons can be
programmed except from [LEARN], [ΟΚ]
[MACRO] [ALL OFF], and device mode keys.
6 If you have finished learning all the buttons you
want and you need store all the learned key data
press the button. The red light indication on
the DVB-T button will turn off.
Attention:
If after the completion of the learn process you
reprogram this particular device by putting a
different device code all stored data will be reset
and replaced with the new ones.

Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote using the learning function check if all the
buttons are working according with your programming by trying to control the DVB-T
device.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons again by
using the same process described above.
Note: Learn function for other devices
If you want to use the learning function for other devices use the above guide and
instead of DVB-T mode button choose another device button and
continue with the same procedure.
Note: If you want to program to control the sound of your TV by using the button
luse the LEARN method and program the button using the remote control of your
TV and learn the buttons that change the sound of your TV. With this, you can control
the sound of your TV without having to switch from another device to TV mode.

Clear Learn data for one device
Press and hold pressed at the same time, for about 3
seconds, the device key that you
need to erase its learn data and the button.
The red indication will blink three times. The data is now
erased

4 MACRO KEYS PROGRAMMING
You can program a MACRO button so that it performs a series of button functions, by,
pressing a single button.
Example: Change from TV to DVB-T
If you are watching analog channels on your TV and you want to change and see digital
channels you can easily program the Macro button as follows:
1. Press the DVB-T button and then
press the MACRO key for 5
seconds until the device indication light
turn on constantly.
Press in sequence the keys you want
according to the functions you need the
devices to do.
For our example do the following:
2. Press ÆÆ
buttons to change the TV signal source
Note: Depending on your TV, press the
button repeatedly to change the
TV signal source, or use the arrow keys
and OK.
You need to change the signal source
from TV to AV or HMDI, etc. depending
on how you have connected the DVB-T
to the TV.
3. Press Æ
to turn on the DVB-T device
4. After you have finished press the
MACRO once more to store the
data.
For our example if you now press the
macro button then the TV will change
the source signal to the selected input
connection the DVB-T will turn on and
you will control it with the remote.

Note:
•You can program up to 31 different key functions
•If in 30 seconds no key is been pressed then the red light will
turn off and the procedure is going to be canceled.
If you press the MACRO key while it is not programmed the light
indication will blink three times.
• Before using the MACRO programming make sure that the remote is
programmed to control all the devices you want to program by using the
MACRO function. To do this use the programming methods and the learning
function indicated in the above chapters of this guide.
• In step 2 depending on your TV you can press the buttons as many times,
to change the signal source from TV to the source that your DVB-T is
connected.
Erase MACRO Programming:
•Press MACRO key for 5 seconds until the device indication light
turn on constantly.
•Press again the MACRO key.
•The light indication will turn off and all the MACRO stored data will be
erased
5 DEVICE CODE REMINDER
You can use this feature to check the code digits that is stored for a device. Follow
these steps using the remote control:
1. Press at the same time and hold pressed the device button
and the ΟΚ button for 1 second
2. Release the buttons and count how many time the red indication light of the device
blinks. Every 1 second pause means change of a digit.
Note:
•If the digit is the number 0 the light will blink 10 times.
Example: Let’s assume the 4 digit code of a device is “1095”. Then the light indication
blink sequence will be like this: 1 blink –pause-10 blinks-pause-9 blinks-pause-5 blinks.

6. TV VOLUME CONTROL
Depending the device that you have the button on the URC-601 remote control,
will control the volume of your TV. This feature can be disabled or enabled using the
code entry programming at Chapter.2.1.1. by entering the code [9908].
7.GENERAL INFORMATION’S
The URC-601 remote, and can control up to six (6) devices, which include:
TV: Televisions
DVD: DVD and VCR
STB: Set-top boxes
SAT: Satellite receivers
DVB-T: DVB-T
AUX: CDs, HIFI, Audio devices
•Point the universal remote control at the infrared part of the device you need to
control approximately 60 to 100 cm
•Do not leave flat batteries in your universal remote control, as they could leak and
void your warranty. Always replace the batteries both of them at the same time, do
not mix the old and new batteries or mix different battery types.
•When you throw away old batteries, considerate the environment. Please consult
your local council or recycle department, for nearest collection point.
•Do not drop or throw your universal remote control, as you may damage the unit
and the circuitry inside.
•Do not let the remote control come into contact with any liquids.
•Use a dry cloth to clean your universal remote control.
Disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment
If you see this symbol on the product or on its packaging, you should hand the product over to the
applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Do not throw it away
with household wastes. The improper disposal of these products may have negative consequences for
the environment and human health. For more information about the recycling of this product, please

2. ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΥ TV, DVB-T & ΑΛΛΩΝ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΩΝ
2.1 Προγραμματισμός για έλεγχο Τηλεοράσεων (TV)
Μπορείτε να προγραμματίσετε το τηλεκοντρόλ URC-601 ώστε να ελέγχετε την
τηλεόραση σας με τους εξής τρόπους:
2.1.1 Προγραμματισμός με εισαγωγή κωδικού
1. Ανοίξτε την τηλεόραση που θέλετε να
προγραμματίσετε για να λειτουργεί με το
τηλεχειριστήριο URC-601 της Crypto. Κρατήστε το
τηλεχειριστήριο σε ευθεία γραμμή μπροστά στην
τηλεόρασή σας και σε απόσταση μικρότερη του 1
μέτρου.
2. Κρατήστε πατημένο το πλήκτρο για
περίπου 3 δευτερόλεπτα μέχρι να μείνει σταθερά
αναμμένο κόκκινο.
3. Πληκτρολογήστε τον τετραψήφιο κωδικό της
τηλεόρασής σας που θα βρείτε στην λίστα με τους
κωδικούς στο τέλος του εγχειριδίου (Παράρτημα Γ)
4. Πιέστε το πλήκτρο POWER στο
τηλεχειριστήριο. Εάν ητηλεόραση κλείσει τότε ο
κωδικός που εισάγατε είναι σωστός. Εάν η
τηλεόραση δεν κλείνει επαναλάβετε τα βήματα 2-4
με κάποιον άλλο κωδικό της εταιρείας που ανήκει η
συσκευή σας.
Προσοχή:Σε περίπτωση όπου ένας
κατασκευαστής έχει περισσότερους από έναν
κωδικούς τότε πρέπει να σημειώσετε τους κωδικούς
και να τους δοκιμάσετε έναν προς έναν. Σημειώστε
ποιος από τους κωδικούς ελέγχει την τηλεόραση
σας και τις περισσότερες λειτουργίες της και
χρησιμοποιήστε αυτόν.
ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ: Αν δεν πατήσετε κανένα πλήκτρο
μέσα σε 30 δευτερόλεπτα από την στιγμή που θα
ανάψει κόκκινο το πλήκτρο , ηπατήσετε
κάποιο άλλο πλήκτρο εκτός από αριθμό, το
πλήκτρο θα σβήσει και θα ακυρωθεί η
διαδικασία.
Ενέργειες για επαλήθευση σωστού προγραμματισμού
Αφού έχετε εισάγει τον κωδικό, ελέγξτε αν τα περισσότερα από τα κουμπιά
λειτουργούν σύμφωνα με τις λειτουργίες που έχει ητηλεόραση σας.
Διορθωτικές Ενέργειες
Σε περίπτωση που κάποιο από τα πλήκτρα δεν λειτουργεί σωστά μπορείτε να το
προγραμματίσετε μεμονωμένα ακολουθώντας την διαδικασία εκμάθησης πλήκτρων
που αναφέρεται στο κεφάλαιο 3.

2.1.2 Προγραμματισμός με αναζήτηση κωδικού χειροκίνητα.
1. Ανοίξτε την τηλεόραση που θέλετε να
προγραμματίσετε για να λειτουργεί με το
τηλεχειριστήριο URC-601της Crypto. Κρατήστε
το τηλεχειριστήριο σε ευθεία γραμμή μπροστά
στην τηλεόρασή σας και σε απόσταση
μικρότερη του 1 μέτρου.
2. Κρατήστε πατημένο το πλήκτρο για
περίπου 3 δευτερόλεπτα μέχρι να μείνει
σταθερά αναμμένο κόκκινο.
3. Πατήστε το πλήκτρο ήτο πλήκτρο
ένα βήμα την φορά μέχρι ητηλεόρασή σας να
σβήσει. Κάθε φορά που θα πατάτε τα πλήκτρα
ήτο πλήκτρο θα αναβοσβήνει
μια φορά.
4. Μόλις ητηλεόραση σβήσει σημαίνει ότι
βρέθηκε από το τηλεχειριστήριο οκωδικός για
την τηλεόρασή σας.
5. Πατήστε το πλήκτρο για να
αποθηκεύσετε τον κωδικό. Το πλήκτρο θα
σβήσει.
ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ:Στο βήμα 3 μπορείτε να κρατάτε
σταθερά πατημένο το πλήκτρο ήτο
πλήκτρο μέχρι να σβήσει ητηλεόρασή σας.
Προσοχή:μόλις σβήσει ητηλεόρασή σας
πρέπει να αφήσετε το πλήκτρο αμέσως ώστε να
μην προχωρήσει σε επόμενο κωδικό. Μπορείτε
να πατήσετε το πλήκτρο για τους
επόμενους κωδικούς και το πλήκτρο για
τους προηγούμενους. Ηδιαδικασία αυτή μπορεί
να διαρκέσει αρκετό χρόνο καθώς ηλίστα των
κωδικών είναι αρκετά μεγάλη.
Ενέργειες για επαλήθευση σωστού προγραμματισμού
Αφού έχετε αποθηκεύσει τον κωδικό, ελέγξτε αν τα περισσότερα από τα κουμπιά
λειτουργούν σύμφωνα με τις λειτουργίες που έχει ητηλεόραση σας.
Διορθωτικές Ενέργειες
