2. PROGRAMMING TO CONTROL TV, DVB-T & OTHER DEVICES
2.1 Programming Control for TV Devices
You can program the URC-601A remote, to c o n t r o l your TV using the following w a y s :
2.1.1 Code Input programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
w i t h the Crypto URC-601A r e m o t e c o n t r o l . H o l d
the remote ina straight line in front ofyour TV at
a distance less than 1 m e t e r .
2. Press and hold on the remote the device mode
button
and button at the same time
until the red light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the
TV code list (Appendix C).

of your brand until you find the appropriate code
that will make the device to be turned off.

one code y o u m u s t note the codes and try them
one by one. Find w h i c h o f the codes controls
your TV and uses t h e m o s t f u n c t i o n s and use
that one.
Note: If no key is pressed w i t h i n 3 0 seconds
from the m o m e n t t h e r e d l i g h t o f t h e
button
turns on, or another key other t h a n number has
been pressed, the button w i l l turn off a n d
the programming process will be canceled.
A c t i o n s to v e r i f y correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, check to see if most of
the buttons are working according to t h e functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not w o r k properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.1.2 Manual code s e a r c h p r o g r a m m i n g

At step 3 you can hold down or

When
the TV turns off you m u s t r e l e a s e t h e
button immediately so that the remote wont go to
the next code.

For this feature you can press to search
forward
and to search backward the code
libraries in the remote control.Given the size of
the code libraries in the remote control, it will take
several minutes to cycle through all the codes

2.1.3 Automatic code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
w i t h the Crypto URC-601A remote control. Hold
the remote ina s t r a i g h t line in front ofyour TV at
a distance less than 1 m e t e r .
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button
and button at the same time
until the red light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Press the POWER
button
4. The
button w i l l b l i n k c o n t i n u o u s l y i n r e d
m e a n i n g t h a t t h e r e m o t e i s s e a r c h i n g f o r t h e
code of your TV.
5. When the remote finds your TV code the TV
w i l l t u r n o f f .
A t t e n t i o n : When the TV turns off you must
immediately press the
button to avoid the
remote to go to the next code.
6. By pressing the
button you have
already stored the code. The button light
w i l l t u r n o f f .
Note: This automatic s e a r c h can be finished w i t h o u t f i n d i n g a n appropriate code for
your TV.In that case the
button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.
Given the size of the code libraries in the remote control, it will take several minutes
to cycle through all the codes

2.1.4 Brand code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program
to work w i t h the Crypto URC-601A r e m o t e
control. Hold the r e m o t e ina straight line
in front ofyour TV at a distance less than
1 meter.
2. Press and hold down at the same time
the
button and the n u m b e r from 0 to
9 that corresponds to the b r a n d of the TV
according t o the brand search list in
Appendix A
3. After 2 seconds the
button will
start blinking
4. When your TV turns off release both
buttons so that the remote stores the
code.
A t t e n t i o n : Whenthe TV turns off you
m u s t immediatelyrelease both buttons so
to avoid the remote to go on the next
code.
Note:
This search can b e f i n i s h e d w i t h o u t f i n d i n g an appropriate c o d e for your TV.In that
case the
button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.

2.2 Programming Control for DVB-T Devices
You can program the URC-601A remote, to control your DVB-T in the following ways:
2.2.1 Programming CRYPTO DVB-T
1. Turn on your Crypto DVB-T you want to program to
w o r k w i t h the URC-601A remote control. Hold the
remote ina straight line in front ofyour device at a
distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button
and button until the red light indicator
lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the Crypto
DVB-T code list (Appendix B ) .
Note:
· If no key is pressed w i t h i n 3 0 seconds from the
m o m e n t t h e r e d l i g h t o f t h e b u t t o n
turns on, or
another key other than number has been pressed,
the button w i l l turn off and the programming
process w i l l b e c a n c e l e d .
· For all Crypto DVB-T's the button on the URC-
601A remote control, will control the volume of your
TV.
With this,you can control the sound of your TV without
having to switch from DVB-T mode to TV mode.

Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, using the above
m e t h o d , c h e c k t o s e e i f a l l t h e b u t t o n s a r e w o r k i n g a c c o r d i n g w i t h t h e f u n c t i o n s o f y o u r
Crypto DVB-T.
2.2.2 Programming other DVB-T
To program the remote, to control other DVB-T devices you must use the Learn
function feature that is described in chapter 3.
Note: I f y o u w a n t t o p r o g r a m a n o t h e r D V B - T d e v i c e , a n d y o u w a n t t o c o n t r o l t h e
sound of your TV by using the button like Crypto’s DVB-T, use the LEARN method
and program the button using the remote control of your TV and learn the buttons
that change the sound of your TV. With this,y o u c a n c o n t r o l t h e s o u n d o f y o u r T V
w i t h o u t h a v i n g t o s w i t c h f r o m D V B - T m o d e t o T V m o d e .

2.3 Programming other devices
To program other devices such as DVD, STB, SAT, AUX (CD, HIFI) follow the
methods of programming described in Chapter 2.1
Note: The complete list of all devices codes is available at our website

3. LEARN FUNCTION OPERATION GUIDE
The learn function on the URC-601A remote control allows to program the keys one by
one to learn to behave like the original remote control of your device.
As an example, below is a method of programming a DVB-T using the learn function.
Just follow the steps:
1. Turn on your DVB-T you want to program to
work with the Crypto URC-601A remote control.
2.Press DVB-T button
once
3. Press the learn button for about 3 seconds
until the DVB-T button lights continuously in
red color.
4. Bring the original remote opposite to the URC-
601A and at a distance of 3 to 5 cm in such way so
that the infrared windows are facing one another
and press the button that you want.
5. The button will start blinking on your
URC-601A.
6. Now press the button on URC-601A that you
want to program. The button will stop
blinking and that means that the selected button on
URC-601A is programmed.
7. Repeat for the other buttons you want to
program.

Note:
· If no key is pressed within 30 seconds the red
light indication will blink twice and turn off.
· During the learn process all buttons can be
programmed except from [LEARN], [ΟΚ]
[MACRO] [ALL OFF], and device mode keys.
7 If you have finished learning all the buttons you
want and you need store all the learned key data
press the
button. The red light indication on
the DVB-T button will turn off.
Attention:
If after the completion of the learn process you
reprogram this particular device by putting a
different device code all stored data will be reset
and replaced with the new ones.

Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote using the learning function check if all the
buttons are working according with your programming by trying to control the DVB-T
device.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons again by
using the same process described above.
Note: Learn function for other devices
If you want to use the learning function for other devices use the above guide and
instead of DVB-T mode button choose another device button and
continue with the same procedure.
Note: If you want to program to control the sound of your TV by using the button
luse the LEARN method and program the button using the remote control of your
TV and learn the buttons that change the sound of your TV. With this, you can control
the sound of your TV without having to switch from another device to TV mode.

Clear Learn data for one button
Press and hold pressed at the same time the device
key
and button.
Then input number 9990.
Press the button that you want to clear. The light will
blink twice and button will be cleared.
Press sequentially all the buttons you want to clear.
Clear Learn data for one device
Press and hold pressed at the same time the device
key and button.
Then input number 9991 and all learned buttons for this
device will be cleared.
Clear Learn data for all the devices
Press and hold pressed at the same time the device
key and button.
Then input number 9995 and all learned buttons for all
devices will be cleared.
Factory reset
Press and hold pressed at the same time the device
key and button.
Then input number 9300and remote will return to
factory reset state.

4 MACRO KEYS PROGRAMMING
You can p r o g r a m aM A C R O button so that itperforms a series of button functions, by,
pressing a s i n g l e button.
Example: Change from TV to DVB-T
If you are watching analog channels on your TV and you want to change and see digital
channels you can easily program the Macro button as follows:
1. Press the DVB-T button and
at
the same time until the device indication
light turn on constantly.
To program MACRO1 button press code
9960.
To program MACRO2 button press code
9961.
Press insequence the k e y s you w a n t
according t o the f u n c t i o n s y o u need the
devices to do.
For our example do the following:

Note: Depending on your TV, press the

TV signal source, or use the arrow keys

from TV to AV or HMDI, etc. depending
on how you have connected the DVB-T
to the TV.

4. After you have finished pressOK

For our example if you now press the
m a c r o b u t t o n t h e n t h e T V w i l l change
the source signal to the selected input
connection the DVB-T will turn on and
you will control it with the remote.
Note:
· You can program up to 15 d i f f e r e n t k e y f u n c t i o n s
· If in30 seconds no k e y isbeen pressed then t h e red light will
turn off and the procedure is going to be canceled.
If you press the MACRO
key while it is not programmed nothing will
happen.
• Before using the M A C R O programming m a k e s u r e that the remote is
programmed to control a l l t h e d e v i c e s you want to program by using the
M A C R O function. To do this use t h e programming methods and the learning
function indicatedint h e a b o v e chapters of this guide.
• In step 2 depending on your TV you can press the buttons as many times,
to change the s i g n a l s o u r c e from TV to the source that your DVB-T is
connected.
Erase MACRO Programming:
Press the DVB-T button and
at the same time until the device indication
light turn on constantly.
To erase MACRO1 button press code 9960 a n d t h e n O K b u t t o n .
To erase MACRO2 button press code 9961 a n d t h e n O K b u t t o n .
5 DEVICE CODE REMINDER
You can use this feature to c h e c k the code digits t h a t i s s t o r e d f o r a d e v i c e . F o l l o w
these steps using the remote control:
Press the device button that you want once.
Press and hold button and press at the same time one of numbers 1,2,3,4.
Release buttons and the device light will blink as many times according to the number.
If number is 0 then the light will blink fast 10 times.
For example let’s s a y t h e d e v i c e c o d e i s 1 0 2 9
Press and button number 1: the device light will blink 1 time
Press and button number 2: the device light will blink fast 10 times

Press and button number 4: the device light will blink 9 times.
6. TV VOLUME CONTROL
Depending the device that you have the button on the URC-601A remote control,
w i l l c o n t r o l t h e v o l u m e o f y o u r T V .
For Crypto DVB-T receivers this button is enabled to work with TV volume if TV device
is programmed.
If you want to disable it press and hold pressed at the same time the device
key and button.
Then input number 9110and this key function will be disabled. Press 9100 to enable it
again.

7.GENERAL INFORMATION’S
The URC-601A remote, and can control up to six (6) devices, which include:
TV: Televisions
DVD: DVD and VCR
STB: Set-top boxes
SAT: Satellite receivers
DVB-T: DVB-T
AUX: CDs, HIFI, Audio devices
· Point the universal remote control at the infrared part of the device you need to
control approximately 60 to 100 cm
· Do not leave flat batteries in your universal remote control, as they could leak and
void your warranty. Always replace the batteries both of them at the same time, do
not mix the old and new batteries or m i x d i f f e r e n t b a t t e r y t y p e s .
· When you throw away old batteries, considerate the environment. Please consult
your local council or recycle department, for nearest collection point.
· Do not drop or throw your universal remote control, as you may damage the unit
and the circuitry inside.
· Do not let the remote control come into contact with any liquids.
· Use a dry cloth to clean your universal remote control.
Disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment

2. ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΣ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΥ TV, DVB-T & ΑΛΛΩΝ ΣΥΣΚΕΥΩΝ
2.1 Προγραμματισμός για έλεγχο Τηλεοράσεων ( T V )
Μ π ο ρ ε ί τ ε ν α π ρ ο γ ρ α μ μ α τ ί σ ε τ ε τ ο τ η λ ε κ ο ν τ ρ ό λ U R C - 6 0 1 A ώστε να ελέγχετε την
τηλεόραση σας με τους εξής τρόπους:
2.1.1 Προγραμματισμός με εισαγωγή κωδικού
1. Ανοίξτε την τηλεόραση που θέλετε να
προγραμματίσετε για να λειτουργεί με το
τηλεχειριστήριο URC-601A της Crypto. Κρατήστε το
τηλεχειριστήριο σε ευθεία γραμμή μπροστά στην
τηλεόρασή σας και σε απόσταση μικρότερη του 1
μέτρου.
2. Κρατήστε πατημένο το πλήκτρο
και το
πλήκτρο μέχρι να μείνει σταθερά αναμμένο
κόκκινο.
3. Πληκτρολογήστε τον τετραψήφιο κωδικό της
τηλεόρασής σας που θα βρείτε στην λίστα με τους
κωδικούς στο τέλος του εγχειριδίου (Παράρτημα Γ)
4. Πιέστε το πλήκτρο POWER
στο
τηλεχειριστήριο. Εάν η τηλεόραση κλείσει τότε ο
κωδικός που εισάγατε είναι σωστός. Εάν η
τηλεόραση δεν κλείνει επαναλάβετε τα βήματα 2-4
με κάποιον άλλο κωδικό της εταιρείας που ανήκει η
συσκευή σας.
Προσοχή:Σε περίπτωση όπου ένας
κατασκευαστής έχει περισσότερους από έναν
κωδικούς τότε πρέπει να σημειώσετε τους κωδικούς
και να τους δοκιμάσετε έναν προς έναν. Σημειώστε
ποιος από τους κωδικούς ελέγχειτην τηλεόραση
σας και τις περισσότερες λειτουργίες της και
χρησιμοποιήστε αυτόν.
ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ: Αν δεν πατήσετε κανένα πλήκτρο
μέσα σε 30 δευτερόλεπτα από την στιγμή που θα
ανάψει κόκκινο το πλήκτρο
, η πατήσετε
κάποιο άλλο πλήκτρο εκτός από αριθμό, το
πλήκτρο θα σβήσει και θα ακυρωθεί η
διαδικασία.
Ενέργειες για επαλήθευση σωστού προγραμματισμού
Αφού έχετε εισάγει τον κωδικό, ελέγξτε αν τα περισσότερα από τα κουμπιά
λειτουργούν σύμφωνα με τις λειτουργίες που έχει η τηλεόραση σας.
Διορθωτικές Ενέργειες
Σε περίπτωση που κάποιο από τα πλήκτρα δεν λειτουργεί σωστά μπορείτε να το

2.1.2 Προγραμματισμός με αναζήτηση κωδικού χειροκίνητα.
1. Ανοίξτε την τηλεόραση που θέλετε να
προγραμματίσετε για να λειτουργεί με το
τηλεχειριστήριο URC-601Aτης Crypto.
Κρατήστε το τηλεχειριστήριο σε ευθεία γραμμή
μπροστά στην τηλεόρασή σας και σε απόσταση
μικρότερη του 1 μέτρου.
2. Κρατήστε πατημένο το πλήκτρο
και το
πλήκτρο μέχρι να μείνει σταθερά
αναμμένο κόκκινο.
3. Πατήστε το πλήκτρο
ή το πλήκτρο
ένα βήμα την φορά μέχρι η τηλεόρασή σας να
σβήσει. Κάθε φορά που θα πατάτε τα πλήκτρα
ή το πλήκτρο θα αναβοσβήνει
μια φορά.
4. Μόλις η τηλεόραση σβήσει σημαίνει ότι
βρέθηκε από το τηλεχειριστήριο ο κωδικός για
την τηλεόρασή σας.
5. Πατήστε το πλήκτρο
για να
αποθηκεύσετε τον κωδικό. Το πλήκτρο θα
σβήσει.
ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ: Στο βήμα 3 μπορείτε να κρατάτε
σταθερά πατημένο το πλήκτρο ή το
πλήκτρο μέχρι να σβήσει η τηλεόρασή σας.
Προσοχή: μόλις σβήσει η τηλεόρασή σας
πρέπει να αφήσετε το πλήκτρο αμέσως ώστε να
μην προχωρήσει σε επόμενο κωδικό. Μ π ο ρ ε ί τ ε
να πατήσετε το πλήκτρο για τους
επόμενους κωδικούς και το πλήκτρο για
τους προηγούμενους. Η διαδικασία αυτή μπορεί
να διαρκέσει αρκετό χρόνο καθώς η λίστα των
κωδικών είναι αρκετά μεγάλη.
Ενέργειες για επαλήθευση σωστού προγραμματισμού
Αφού έχετε αποθηκεύσει τον κωδικό, ελέγξτε αν τα περισσότερα από τα κουμπιά
λειτουργούν σύμφωνα με τις λειτουργίες που έχει η τηλεόραση σας.
