2. PROGRAMMING TO CONTROL TV, DVB-T & OTHER DEVICES
2.1 Programming Control for TV Devices
You can program the URC-601A remote, to c o n t r o l your TV using the following w a y s :
2.1.1 Code Input programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
w i t h the Crypto URC-601A r e m o t e c o n t r o l . H o l d
the remote ina straight line in front ofyour TV at
a distance less than 1 m e t e r .
2. Press and hold on the remote the device mode
button
and button at the same time
until the red light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the
TV code list (Appendix C).

of your brand until you find the appropriate code
that will make the device to be turned off.
A t t e n t i o n : Whenam a n u f a c t u r e r h a s m o r e than
one code y o u m u s t note the codes and try them
one by one. Find w h i c h o f the codes controls
your TV and uses t h e m o s t f u n c t i o n s and use
that one.
Note: If no key is pressed w i t h i n 3 0 seconds
from the m o m e n t t h e r e d l i g h t o f t h e
button
turns on, or another key other t h a n number has
been pressed, the button w i l l turn off a n d
the programming process will be canceled.
A c t i o n s to v e r i f y correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, check to see if most of
the buttons are working according to t h e functions of your TV.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not w o r k properly, you can program those buttons individually
by using the learning function process described in chapter 3.

2.1.2 Manual code s e a r c h p r o g r a m m i n g
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work

2. Press the remote device mode button

step at a time until your TV turns off. Every time
you press t h e or buttons the
button will blink once
4. Whenthe TV turns off itm e a n s that the
remote have found t h e correct code for your TV.
5. Press the
button to store the c o d e . T h e
button light will turn off.
Note:

At step 3 you can hold down or
button
constantly u n t i l t h e T V t u r n s o f f . A t t e n t i o n :
When
the TV turns off you m u s t r e l e a s e t h e
button immediately so that the remote wont go to
the next code.

For this feature you can press to search
forward
and to search backward the code
libraries in the remote control.Given the size of
the code libraries in the remote control, it will take
several minutes to cycle through all the codes

Once you have stored on the remote the correct code, check to see if most of the
buttons a r e w o r k i n g a c c o r d i n g t o the f u n c t i o n s o f y o u r T V .

2.1.3 Automatic code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program to work
w i t h the Crypto URC-601A remote control. Hold
the remote ina s t r a i g h t line in front ofyour TV at
a distance less than 1 m e t e r .
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button
and button at the same time
until the red light indicator lights up constantly.
3. Press the POWER
button
4. The
button w i l l b l i n k c o n t i n u o u s l y i n r e d
m e a n i n g t h a t t h e r e m o t e i s s e a r c h i n g f o r t h e
code of your TV.
5. When the remote finds your TV code the TV
w i l l t u r n o f f .
A t t e n t i o n : When the TV turns off you must
immediately press the
button to avoid the
remote to go to the next code.
6. By pressing the
button you have
already stored the code. The button light
w i l l t u r n o f f .
Note: This automatic s e a r c h can be finished w i t h o u t f i n d i n g a n appropriate code for
your TV.In that case the
button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.
Given the size of the code libraries in the remote control, it will take several minutes
to cycle through all the codes

2.1.4 Brand code search programming
1. Turn on your TV you want to program
to work w i t h the Crypto URC-601A r e m o t e
control. Hold the r e m o t e ina straight line
in front ofyour TV at a distance less than
1 meter.
2. Press and hold down at the same time
the
button and the n u m b e r from 0 to
9 that corresponds to the b r a n d of the TV
according t o the brand search list in
Appendix A
3. After 2 seconds the
button will
start blinking
4. When your TV turns off release both
buttons so that the remote stores the
code.
A t t e n t i o n : Whenthe TV turns off you
m u s t immediatelyrelease both buttons so
to avoid the remote to go on the next
code.
Note:
This search can b e f i n i s h e d w i t h o u t f i n d i n g an appropriate c o d e for your TV.In that
case the
button will stop blinking and your TV will remain on.

2.2 Programming Control for DVB-T Devices
You can program the URC-601A remote, to control your DVB-T in the following ways:
2.2.1 Programming CRYPTO DVB-T
1. Turn on your Crypto DVB-T you want to program to
w o r k w i t h the URC-601A remote control. Hold the
remote ina straight line in front ofyour device at a
distance less than 1 meter.
2. Press and hold down the remote device mode
button
and button until the red light indicator
lights up constantly.
3. Enter the four digit code that you found in the Crypto
DVB-T code list (Appendix B ) .
Note:
· If no key is pressed w i t h i n 3 0 seconds from the
m o m e n t t h e r e d l i g h t o f t h e b u t t o n
turns on, or
another key other than number has been pressed,
the button w i l l turn off and the programming
process w i l l b e c a n c e l e d .
· For all Crypto DVB-T's the button on the URC-
601A remote control, will control the volume of your
TV.
With this,you can control the sound of your TV without
having to switch from DVB-T mode to TV mode.

Once you have programmed the remote with the correct code, using the above
m e t h o d , c h e c k t o s e e i f a l l t h e b u t t o n s a r e w o r k i n g a c c o r d i n g w i t h t h e f u n c t i o n s o f y o u r
Crypto DVB-T.
2.2.2 Programming other DVB-T
To program the remote, to control other DVB-T devices you must use the Learn
function feature that is described in chapter 3.
Note: I f y o u w a n t t o p r o g r a m a n o t h e r D V B - T d e v i c e , a n d y o u w a n t t o c o n t r o l t h e
sound of your TV by using the button like Crypto’s DVB-T, use the LEARN method
and program the button using the remote control of your TV and learn the buttons
that change the sound of your TV. With this,y o u c a n c o n t r o l t h e s o u n d o f y o u r T V
w i t h o u t h a v i n g t o s w i t c h f r o m D V B - T m o d e t o T V m o d e .

2.3 Programming other devices
To program other devices such as DVD, STB, SAT, AUX (CD, HIFI) follow the
methods of programming described in Chapter 2.1
Note: The complete list of all devices codes is available at our website

3. LEARN FUNCTION OPERATION GUIDE
The learn function on the URC-601A remote control allows to program the keys one by
one to learn to behave like the original remote control of your device.
As an example, below is a method of programming a DVB-T using the learn function.
Just follow the steps:
1. Turn on your DVB-T you want to program to
work with the Crypto URC-601A remote control.
2.Press DVB-T button
once
3. Press the learn button for about 3 seconds
until the DVB-T button lights continuously in
red color.
4. Bring the original remote opposite to the URC-
601A and at a distance of 3 to 5 cm in such way so
that the infrared windows are facing one another
and press the button that you want.
5. The button will start blinking on your
URC-601A.
6. Now press the button on URC-601A that you
want to program. The button will stop
blinking and that means that the selected button on
URC-601A is programmed.
7. Repeat for the other buttons you want to
program.

Note:
· If no key is pressed within 30 seconds the red
light indication will blink twice and turn off.
· During the learn process all buttons can be
programmed except from [LEARN], [ΟΚ]
[MACRO] [ALL OFF], and device mode keys.
7 If you have finished learning all the buttons you
want and you need store all the learned key data
press the
button. The red light indication on
the DVB-T button will turn off.
Attention:
If after the completion of the learn process you
reprogram this particular device by putting a
different device code all stored data will be reset
and replaced with the new ones.

Actions to verify correct programming
Once you have programmed the remote using the learning function check if all the
buttons are working according with your programming by trying to control the DVB-T
device.
Corrective Actions
If any of the buttons do not work properly, you can program those buttons again by
using the same process described above.
Note: Learn function for other devices
If you want to use the learning function for other devices use the above guide and
instead of DVB-T mode button choose another device button and
continue with the same procedure.
Note: If you want to program to control the sound of your TV by using the button
luse the LEARN method and program the button using the remote control of your
TV and learn the buttons that change the sound of your TV. With this, you can control
the sound of your TV without having to switch from another device to TV mode.
