1. General
NOTE: As when installing any performance
product, a degree of mechanical abili-
ty is required. If after reviewing the
parts and instructions you don´t feel
that you can properly complete this in-
stallation, take your car to a compe-
tent professional. Proper installation
and adjustment will save time, money
and aggravation.
We recommend using this manual, to-
gether wiith the applicable workshop
manual for your car to help you with
the installation.
- This stainless steel throttle linkage has
been designed for Volkswagen Type-1 en-
gine with standard upright fan system using
dual Weber ICT carburetors.
- The center bellcrank has two ball bearings
for smooth operation.
- The pushrods are equipped with left / right
hand threads for easy synchronization.
- There are 3 push rods for better adjustment
with different manifolds.
NOTE: All references given in this manual re-
fer to a stock 1600cc Type-1 engine. It
can only be used on dual ICT Weber
carburetors.
Requirements:
- Installed dual Weber ICT carburetors with
dual port manifolds.
1. Allgemein
WICHTIG: Wie bei allen Fahrzeugteilen ist eine
gewisse Sachkenntnis Vorausset-
zung für eine korrekte Montage. Wenn
Sie nach Sichtung der Teile und der
Montageanleitung nicht der Meinung
sind die Montage durchführen zu kön-
nen, wenden Sie sich an eine Fach-
werkstatt, um die Arbeiten ausführen
zu lassen. Eine korrekte Montage und
Einstellung spart Zeit, Kosten und
Ärger.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, diese Anleitung
zusammen mit einem Reparaturhand-
buch für Ihr Fahrzeug einzusetzen.
- Dieses Edelstahl Drehgasgestänge ist für
Typ-1 Motoren mit Standard-Gebläse und
Weber ICT-Doppelvergaseranlage
entwickelt.
- Der CNC gefertigte Drehbock ist, für einen
präzisen Einsatz, zweifach kugelgelagert.
- Zur einfachen Synchronisation sind die
Druckstangen mit Links- und Rechtsgewin-
de ausgestattet.
- Es werden 3 Druckstangen mitgeliefert zur
besseren Anpassung an verschiedene
Saugrohrtypen.
WICHTIG: Alle hier gemachten Angaben bezie-
hen sich auf einen Serien 1600 Motor.
Der Einsatz dieses Gasgestänges
setzt die Verwendung einer
ICT-Doppelvergaseranlage voraus.
Voraussetzungen:
- Montierte Weber ICT Doppelvergaseranla-
ge mit Ansaugstutzen Doppelkanal.

2. Components and Tools
Parts:

3. Installation
3.1. Center Bellcrank
- Remove the ball pins of the socket ends
and install them in the two holes at the bot-
tom of the bellcrank. Fig(1)
Use the two supplied safety washers to se-
cure the 8mm nuts.

3. Einbau
3.1. Montage des Drehbockes
- Hebeln Sie die Kugelköpfe aus den Kugel-
gelenken und montieren Sie die Kugelköpfe
in die beiden Bohrungen der unteren He-
belplatte des Drehbockes und schrauben
sie mit Federring und Mutter M5, SW8 fest.

- The main bellcrank assembly mounts on
the engine case stud just to the left of the
generator/alternator stand with the thread-
ed adjuster facing the front of the car. The
8mm nut of the engine case stud needs to
be removed first.
- Before you retighten the nut completely, the
bellcrank assembly needs to be aligned to
a vertical position. Using a 3mm hex key,
move the threaded adjuster up or down until
the bellcrank assembly is perfectly vertical.
After alignment, tighten the lock nut on the
adjuster with a 10mm wrench and torque
the nut on the engine case to 19 ft/lbs
(25Nm). Fig(1+2)
NOTE: In case the bellcrank interferes with
the lower generator backing plate
screw. The fan shroud needs to be ad-
justed to a correct original fit.
3.2. Throttle levers
- Carefully bend the lock tab on the rear throt-
tle shaft retaining nuts and remove the nuts.
CAUTION: The original levers will be kept in
place!
- Install the supplied lever on the left side the
way shown (Facing 45°up-and inwards)
(Fig.3).
- Install the supplied lever on the right side
the way shown (Facing 45°down-and in-
wards) (Fig.4).
- Montieren Sie den Drehbock links neben
der Lichtmaschine an dem Motorgehäuse-
gewindestift und sichern ihn mit der Original
Unterlegscheibe und Mutter M8, SW13, die
Sie vorher los geschraubt haben. Siehe
Fig. 2.
- Bevor Sie den Drehbock endgültig mit
25 Nm anziehen, richten Sie ihn mit Hilfe
des M6 Gewindestiftes senkrecht aus und
sichern den Gewindestift mit der M6 Mutter
SW10. Fig. (1 und 2)
ANMERKUNG: Falls nach Montage des Dreh-
bocks die Freigängigkeit zwi-
schen Hebelplatte und
Befestigungschraube der Licht-
maschinenverblechung einge-
schränkt ist, muss eine
Justierung des Gebläsekastens
inkl. Lichtmaschine erfolgen.
3.2. Montage der Drosselklappenhebel
- Biegen Sie, an beiden Vergasern, das Si-
cherungsblech der (in Fahrtrichtung) hinte-
ren Drosselklappenwellenmutter mit einem
Schlitz-Schraubendreher zurück.
- Lösen und Entfernen Sie die Mutter SW11
und Sicherungsblech der Drosselklappen-
welle.
ACHTUNG: Die originalen Drosselklappenhe-
bel bleiben am Vergaser und wer-
den nicht abgenommen!
- Befestigen Sie den linken CSP Drossel-
klappenhebel in einem Winkel von 45°nach

- Reinstall the lock tab under the throttle shaft
nut and secure as original with torque of 4ft/
lbs(5Nm).
CAUTION: Be sure to check the free rotation of
the throttle frequently while installing
the levers!
3.3. Push Rods
NOTE: For your own convenience during later
servicing work, we recommend that
your install both of the rods with the
left thread towards the left of the car,
and the right thread towards the right
of the car. Ie, so that both rods can be
adjusted in the same direction of rota-
tion.
NOTE: Left hand socket ends are marked for
better visibility.
- Now it is time to install the push-rods to carb
levers and the center bellcrank assembly.
- The longer rod needs to be installed on the
right side of the engine.
4. Adjustment and Test
NOTE: The push rods need to adjusted to
proper length. When carbs are in half

- Befestigen Sie den CSP-Drosselklappen-
hebel auf der rechten Seite (in Fahrtrrich-
tung), so dass sie in einem Winkel von 45°
nach unten und zur Motormitte zeigen (Fig.
4).
- Die Sicherungsbleche und Muttern wieder
aufschrauben, mit einem Drehmoment von
5 Nm festziehen und sichern.
ACHTUNG: Auf die Leichtgängigkeit der Dros-
selklappenwelle achten!
3.3. Montage der Schubstangen
ANMERKUNG: Es erleichtert die Einstellarbei-
ten wenn die Kugelköpfe mit glei-
chem Gewinde einer
Fahrzeugseite zugewandt sind.
ANMERKUNG: Die Winkelgelenke mit Linksge-
winde sind am Schaft mit einer
Doppelrändelung ausgestattet.
- Hängen Sie nun die Schubstangen am
Drehbock und an den Drosselklappenhe-
beln ein.
- Die lange Schubstange kommt auf die (in
Fahrtrichtung) rechte Seite.
4. Einstellung und Test
ANMERKUNG: Um einen gleichmäßigen Lauf
des Gasgestänges zu gewährleisten, ist es
notwendig, die Schubstangen so einzustel-
len, das der obere Hebel am Drehbock in

NOTE: Be sure that both carbs are opened
equally when rotating the bellcrank.
- Finally secure the socket ends with the
8mm hex nuts.
- Hook up the throttle cable using the barrel
nut supplied and be sure the carburetors
are adjusted properly. Fig(8)
NOTE: Tighten the throttle cable with a small
amount of play, since otherwise the
retraction of the throttle control lever
will be incomplete if the throttle cable
tension is too high
Ausgangsstellung (Leerlauf) (Fig.5) und
Endstellung (Volllast) (Fig.6) im gleichen
Winkel zur Mittellinie des Motorblockes
steht.
ANMERKUNG: Es ist darauf zu achten, dass
beide Vergaser gleichmäßig be-
tätigt werden.
- Das Einstellen der Schubstangen erfolgt
durch Drehen der Gewindestangen.
- Wenn die Einstellung korrekt ist, drehen Sie
die Muttern gegen die Kugelköpfe fest.
- Jetzt können Sie den Gasbowdenzug in
das Drehgasgestänge einführen und mit-
tels Trommelmutter und Klemmschraube
festziehen. Siehe Fig. 8.
WICHTIG: Den Bowdenzug mit leichtem
Spiel festziehen, da sonst keine
vollständige Rückstellung der
Drosselklappenhebel bei zu straf-
fer Bowdenzugspannung erfolgt.
