with a damaged cord or
plug, after the appliance
malfunctions or if it has been
dropped or damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to
the nearest Authorized Service
Center or phone Cuisinart
Customer Service at 1-800-726-
0190 for examination, repair
or electrical or mechanical
adjustment.
3. This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or
instructions concerning use
of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised
to ensure they do not play with
the appliance.
4. Avoid coming into contact with
moving parts.
5. To protect against risk of
electrical shock, do not put the
electric wine opener in water or
other liquids. This may cause
personal injury and/or damage
to the product.
6. To protect against re, do not
operate the unit in the
presence of explosive and/or
ammable fumes.
7. Do not use the electric wine
opener for other than
intended use.
8. When using or recharging the
electric wine opener, keep your
workspace clean and free from
potential hazards.
9. Do not expose the electric wine
opener or charging unit to rain
or other extreme conditions.
10. Never force the electric wine
opener onto a bottle or
attempt to speed up the
mechanism. The electric wine
opener will work best when it is
operated at its intended speed.
11. Do not touch or adjust the
electric wine opener’s
mechanism or the corkscrew
spiral. Hold the electric
wine opener by its stainless
steel housing only.
12. Do not attempt to open bottles
if the switch is not
working correctly.
13. Only charge the electric wine
opener by using the recharging
base and power cord supplied.
14. Never remove the plug from the

socket by pulling the
power cord.
15. Use of attachments not
recommended or sold by
Cuisinart may cause re,
electrical shock, injury or
damage to the product.
16. Do not place the appliance on
or near a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven.
17. Do not let cord hang over edge
of table or counter or touch hot
surface.
18. Use only the power adapter
with 9V DC/150mA output as
supplied with this product.
19. Do not operate your appliance
in an appliance garage or
under a wall cabinet. When
storing in an appliance
garage, always unplug the
unit from the electrical
outlet. Not doing so could
create a risk of re, especially
if the appliance touches the
walls of the garage or the door
touches the unit as it closes.
CAUTION: The tip of the corkscrew
is sharp. Handle carefully. Keep
hands and utensils out of the
container while operating to prevent
the possibility of severe personal
injury and/or damage to the product
or property.
WARNING: Your electric wine
opener is equipped with a
removable battery. Do not remove
this battery unless there is a power
problem with the product and the
battery is not charging correctly.
Never put the battery in or near an
open ame, re, oven or heating
appliance. Never put the battery
in liquid. Never disassemble the
battery. Keep the battery away from
children. Used batteries should
be disposed of properly. Contact
your local waste disposal center for
proper disposal directions.

CONNECTION AND USE
We recommend that you charge
your electric wine opener for at least
ten hours before using for the rst
time. Please follow the instructions
for recharging as stated below:
This appliance is for 120 volts only
and should not be used with a
converter.
CHARGING YOUR
ELECTRIC WINE OPENER
Plug one end of the adapter cord
into the base of the charging base
and the other end into an electrical
outlet. Position the electric wine
opener in the charging base, making
sure that it is rmly in position
and that it is fully engaged with
the charging connection. A green
charge light will ash indicating
that the unit is charging. It will take
approximately 8–10 hours to charge
your electric wine opener for the rst
time. When your electric wine bottle
opener is fully charged, the green
light will stop ashing and become a
solid green light. Re-charging times
will vary.
Your electric wine opener can open
approximately 120 bottles of wine on
a full charge.
It is recommended to keep the
electric wine opener on the charging
base when not in use to keep a full
charge.
FOIL CUTTER
For your convenience, this unit has
a removable foil cutter, which is
stored in the charging base. Before
removing the cork, you must remove
any foil from the bottle (see g 1).
Attach foil cutter to the top of the
wine bottle. Keep hand on lower
part of bottle and turn foil cutter
in twisting motion to remove foil.
Remove foil to expose top part of
cork surface.
CAUTION: Blade on foil cutter is
sharp. Please keep ngers away
from cutter's sharp edges.

WINE OPENER OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
Press and hold the lower part of the
switch (indicated by a down arrow)
to remove a cork from the bottle.
Press and hold the upper part of the
switch (indicated by an up arrow) to
release a cork from the mechanism
after you have removed the cork
from the bottle (see g 2).
1. Position the electric wine
opener on top of the wine
bottle, making sure that it
remains as straight/upright as
possible at all times.
If you hold the electric wine
opener at an angle to the
bottle, it will not remove the
cork properly (see g. 3).
2. Hold the wine opener rmly
and depress the lower part
of the switch. The corkscrew
will turn in a counterclockwise
direction and enter the cork,
then gradually remove
it from the bottle. When
the electric wine opener
mechanism has stopped, the
cork has been fully removed
from the bottle.
3. Lift the wine opener up and
away from the bottle. To
remove the cork, depress the
upper part of the switch. The
spiral will turn in a clockwise
direction and release
the cork (see g 4).
4. Always return the wine opener
to the charging base when
done. This will protect the unit
while not in use.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Your electric wine opener is
equipped with a removable battery.
If charging instructions are followed,
your battery should last the lifetime
of the electric wine opener. In the
event that your battery requires
replacement, call our Consumer
Service Center at 1-800-726-0190
to get a replacement NiMH battery.
Only the battery from Cuisinart can
be used in this unit. To remove the
battery, unscrew the battery cover
on the top of your wine opener and
slide the battery out. Replace with
the new battery.
CORKSCREW
REPLACEMENT
If used correctly, the corkscrew
should last the lifetime of the wine
opener. However, if it does need
to be replaced call our Consumer
Service Center at 1-800-726-0190 to
get a new corkscrew.
CLEANING &
MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the appliance from
the main outlet before cleaning.
Make sure all the parts are clean
and dry before storing. To clean
housing, wipe with a clean, damp
cloth. Never immerse power adapter,
charging base, battery or housing
in water or any other liquids.
Never submerge the motor base in
water or other liquids, or place in
dishwasher.
Any other servicing should be
performed by an authorized service
representative.

This warranty is available to U.S.
consumers only. You are a consumer if
you own a Cuisinart®Portable Electric
Wine Opener that was purchased at
retail for personal, family or household
use. Except as otherwise required
under applicable law, this warranty is
not available to retailers or other
commercial purchasers or owners. We
warrant that your Cuisinart®Portable
Electric Wine Opener will be free of
defects in materials and workmanship
under normal home use for one year
from the date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our
website, www.cuisinart.com for a fast,
efficient way to complete your product
registration. However, product
registration does not eliminate the need
for the consumer to maintain the
original proof of purchase in order to
obtain the warranty benefits.
In the event that you do not have proof
of purchase date, the purchase date for
purposes of this warranty will be the
date of manufacture.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for
In-Warranty Service, California
residents have the option of returning a
nonconforming product (A) to the store
where it was purchased or (B) to
another retail store that sells Cuisinart
products of the same type. The retail
store shall then, according to its
preference, either repair the product,
refer the consumer to an independent
repair facility, replace the product, or
refund the purchase price less the
amount directly attributable to the
consumer’s prior usage of the product.
If neither of the above two options
results in the appropriate relief to the
consumer, the consumer may then take
the product to an independent repair
facility, if service or repair can be
economically accomplished. Cuisinart
and not the consumer will be
responsible for the reasonable cost of
such service, repair, replacement, or
refund for nonconforming products
under warranty. California residents
may also, according to their preference,
return nonconforming products directly
to Cuisinart for repair or, if necessary,
replacement by calling our Consumer
Service Center toll-free at 800-726-
0190. Cuisinart will be responsible for
the cost of the repair, replacement, and
shipping and handling for such
nonconforming products under
warranty.

Opener has been manufactured to the
strictest specifications and has been
designed for use only in 120-volt outlets
and only with authorized accessories
and replacement parts. This warranty
expressly excludes any defects or
damages caused by attempted use of
this unit with a converter, as well as use
with accessories, replacement parts or
repair service other than those
authorized by Cuisinart. This warranty
does not cover any damage caused by
accident, misuse, shipment or other
than ordinary household use.
This warranty excludes all incidental or
consequential damages. Some states
do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of these damages, so these exclusions
may not apply to you. You may also
have other rights, which vary from state
to state.
Important: If the nonconforming
product is to be serviced by someone
other than Cuisinart’s Authorized
Service Center, please remind the
servicer to call our Consumer Service
Center at 1-800-726-0190 to ensure
that the problem is properly diagnosed,
the product is serviced with the correct
parts, and to ensure that the product
is still under warranty.
