Coin pouring guidelines
Coin should be dry and free of debris before pouring into the coin
tray. Liquid, mutilated coin or debris may cause machine damage
or a jam that requires assistance to remove.
Prior to processing coin:
• Remove non-coin items such as paper clips, hardware, wrappers, candy, gum, etc.
• Remove foreign, mutilated or damaged coin.
• Verify no liquid or moisture is present in the coin container.
Pour coin into the tray.
If the machine has a lift tray, raise the corner of the tray to direct the coin into the funnel
at the right rear of the tray. Coin may also be poured directly into the funnel.
The machine counts and sorts the coin.
Non-coin objects inadvertently processed
with coin are culled into the reject
receptacle, located between the bag
holders on the front of the machine. In
some cases, debris and other non-coin
objects must be removed from the sort
table by hand. See instructions in Unlatch
the sort disk on page 21 and Remove
jam or debris on page 22.

Entering ID Information
Unique ID information may be entered using the GENERAL DATA ENTRY screen for each
sub-batch, if required. Names or numbers may be used as IDs. Entered IDs appear on the
COUNT screen ID drop-down menu.
After entering a new ID, when the transaction is complete, the new ID is added to the
drop-down menu on the COUNT screen and is available for selection when the next
transaction is started. Repeat as needed to enter all IDs.
Up to 400 unique IDs may be entered for a particular batch. Sub-batch reports include the
ID for that transaction. Batch reports show the sub-totals by ID for each transaction in the
batch and the batch grand total.
ID transaction data is cumulative by ID. To clear individual IDs, select the ID,
then select Clear. Clearing an individual ID does not affect Day Total. All IDs are
cleared from the database when the business day is cleared.

Processing rejected coin
Process Rejects allows operators to reset the reject count to zero and re-run rejected
coins. False rejects are accepted and added to the batch total. The true number of
rejected coins is then reected on the report at the end of the batch.
If at least 1 coin in the batch is rejected, and Process Rejects is enabled in setup, the
Process Rejects button appears when End Batch is pressed.
CONFIRM PROCESS REJECTS dialog appears if Conrm Process Rejects is
enabled in setup and the batch is ended without selecting Process Rejects.
To process rejected coin:
1. Select Process Rejects. CONFIRM PROCESS REJECTS dialog appears.
To disable the CONFIRM PROCESS REJECTS dialog, select checkbox: do not
show this again.
2. Do one of the following:
• Select Yes to reset rejected coin count to zero and reprocess the rejected coin as
many times as needed. Proceed to step 3.
• Select No to continue without reprocessing the rejected coin. Proceed to step 5.
3. Remove coin from the reject cup and reprocess it.
4. Repeat step 3 as required to reduce the number of rejected coins.

Batch reports show the net reject total after reject processing is completed. For

veried into the tray.
The screen displays the veried batch total. This value is added to the bag totals, but not
to the machine totals.
6. Select Stop.
7. Select End Verify when nished to exit Verify mode and return to COUNT screen.
A verication report prints your results.

14 | JetSort®LX Attended coin sorter | How to use the system
Using Reconcile mode
Reconcile mode ensures an accurate transaction total following a table or coin jam
condition. Use Reconcile mode to recount the contents of all bags and any coin left on the
table. To use Reconcile:
1. Clear table or coin jam error, removing
any coin left on the table or sorting area.
2. From the COUNT screen, select
Reconcile. The CONFIRM RECONCILE
dialog appears.
3. Select No to complete the coin counting
process without reconciling.
4. To proceed with reconcile, follow
onscreen instructions provided on
CONFIRM RECONCILE dialog.
a. Remove all coin bags from the
machine.
b. Install empty bags for all denominations.
c. Pour all coin from removed bags, plus all coins removed from the table, into

the upper left corner of screen.
Jetsort LX recounts the coins, detecting any difference between the amounts counted up
until the table or coin jam occurred, and the recount.
