Install
1. Decide if you want standard 8ohm or distributed 70/100volt speaker sound. Then chose 8ohm or 70Volt. The PRO SUB801-70Vcan do either. This speaker may
also be used on 100 volt systems but with derated taps.See chart below
2. Chose locations for your speakers. I suggest one Pro SUB801 every 275 sqft
3. Chooseyour wiring method:Home Run or Daisy chain.Suggest apigtail if daisy chain from one speaker to the next.Use Home Run wiring in 8 ohm applications.
4. Bury your conduit or wire 18”below grade to prevent damage by tillers or shovels when planting. Prewire before hardscape concrete.
5. Insure there is enough room above to place the SUB801-70Vin the ceiling or tile.
6. Use aone piece TB8 Tile Support Bracket to prevent sag.See YouTube for video install instructions.Cut on inside of TB8diameter
7. For proper phasing identify the (+) and (-) on each cable.
8. If using as 70 volt the speakers they can be Daisy Chained from one speaker to the next.
9. How do Iknow what size 70 volt amp to use? Rule of thumb -add up all the wattage taps of the speakers then divide by .75 for safety factor.Example, suppose you
have 5speakers with the wattage tap of 30,the total wattage would be 150 watts. Divide150W/.75 =200W. Now select an amp of 200Wor higher.
10. For 8ohm hook-up select the 8Ωposition on the Tap switch on the rear of the back-can.
11. Before connectingthe wires to the amplifier check the impedance with amulti-meteron the resistancescale. It should read about 6.5 ohms in the 8ohm position.
12. If multi-meterreading is OK, observe polarities then connect to amplifier.
