D.A.C.E. warrants the original purchaser, at the point of sale, that the product is in good working order and is free fro
any defect.
ANY warranty clai must be acco panied by the original invoice.
The original purchaser is responsible for checking that the equip ent is free fro any visible defect before it leaves the
point of sale.
The warranty period is 24 months fro date of MANUFACTURE.
The warranty is a walk in “ warranty . No warranty clai will be entered into “on site”.
The equip ent ust be returned to the factory with the original invoice for any repair or
replace ent. The transport cost is for the end users account.
If the equip ent was purchased at a dealer, erchant or agent of D.A.C.E. the clai ust be directed to said erchant,
dealer etc.
The warranty does not cover any of the following circu stances in any way.
1. Incorrect installation of the equipment.
2. Incorrect wiring of the equipment.
3. Lightning, flooding, power-surge, fire or any form of abnormal use of the equipment.
4. NOTE the transformer is not guaranteed in any anner, due to power fluctuations.
CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL L.E.D. (OPTIONAL)
An external L.E.D. (light e itting diode) can be wired to the otor. This will indicate the status of the gate at all ti es.
The ost co on place to fit the L.E.D. is in the handset of the interco . If there is no interco then the L.E.D. can
be placed in any chosen location.
The L.E.D. indications are as follows.
Gate open ……………L.E.D. ON SOLID.
Gate closed …………..L.E.D. FLASH ONCE EVERY TWO SECONDS. (If ains is on)
Gate in operation……..L.E.D. FLASHING CONTINUOUSLY
If the gate is closed and there is no L.E.D. indication, this eans that the ains power is off and the battery is not
charging, this eans that the battery will go flat and the otor will operate until the battery is flat.

Please read these instructions before installation begins. The anufacturers have taken all reasonable steps to ensure
that the gate operator is safe to install and use. However it ust be re e bered that a gate is a heavy piece of oving
equip ent and ay cause serious da age or injury if the gate strikes a vehicle or person. The gate operator has built
in collision sensing electronics, this eans that the gate will stop and re-open if an object is struck, however this
eans that the gate will phy sically strike the object before stopping. It is therefore strongly reco ended that
DuraOptic infra-red safety bea s are installed to reduce the risk of the gate striking an object.
Note, The installation of bea s does not guarantee against the gate striking an object in its path while oving.
Never allow children to play on or near any auto ation equip ent.
Never operate the otor when it is out of direct sight.
WIRING REQUIREMENTS. The electrical wiring of this operator should be done with extre e care as this can
cause inj ury or even death if not done correctly .
The operator is supplied with a 220vac—16vac transfor er, this transfor er ust not be ta pered with in any way
whatsoever. The transfor er should be placed inside the house and then the 16vac is run to the otor. The ini u
wire require ents for 16vac are 1.5 three core cable. (See electrical wiring in this anual for ore details)
NOTE if 220vac is run to the otor a registered electrician ust be used to install the wiring. This is a legal require-
ent. 220vac ust be run in a dedicated conduit, NO other cable ay be placed in the sa e conduit.
ENSURE THAT the following ite s are checked before any installation is done.
1. The rail is level. The gate ust not ove on its own at any stage.
2. The wheels are turning freely and are not ja ed.
3. The gate is not bent or bowed in any way .
4. The rail has sufficient end stops so that the gate can never run off the end of the rail.
5. The portal is constructed in such a way that the gate can not fall over.
6. The rollers are turning freely and are not j a ed.
7. The anti lift device is sufficient in order to stop the gate fro being lifted off the rail.
8. The gate ass or start-up force do not exceed the axi u as stated in the specifications.
9. The gate does not stick or j a in the catch bracket when closing or opening.
10. Extre e care should be taken when auto ating a gate that is constructed out of any solid ty pe of aterial
such as wood, as wind resistance can cause over current proble s.
11. The gate ust not exceed the axi u nu ber of operations stated in the specifications.
If any of the above points are not satisfactory DO NOT INSTALL THE OPERATOR until all the points are rectified.
Re e ber that if a gate causes inj ury or da age due to faulty installation, the law will hold the person who installed
the otor responsible. Please ensure that ALL of the above points are checked before installation. The installation of
the gate operator will not rectify any of the above proble s. This gate operator is not a security ite .

It is very i portant to ensure that these instructions are fully read and understood before any installation of this equip ent is
done. This gate operator uses high voltage electricity . I proper installation or use of this equip ent ay lead to electrical
shock. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the electrical wiring is done to specification as explained in these
instructions. It is i portant to check that the gate is in a good working condition before the operator is installed.
Ensure that all electrical power is switched off before any electrical connections are ade.
It is reco ended that an experienced installer is used to install this operator, however it can be installed by the ho e
owner. The operator has been designed so that it can be installed without the need to run high voltage (220 V/AC) to the
operator. However in the case of any high voltage wiring (220 volts AC ) being used, this ust done by a registered electri-
cian. This is a legal require ent.
Do not open , ta per or odify any of the electrical co ponents of this equip ent in any way .
Do not atte pt to repair the equip ent, this should only be done by a qualified D.A.C.E. technician.
It is reco ended that DuraTronic infra-red safety bea s are used to reduce the chance of the gate closing on a vehicle or
pedestrian.
ENTRAPMENT AREAS: It ust be noted that an auto atic gate is a heavy piece of equip ent and injury or even death
ay occur due to incorrect installation or operation of the equip ent.
There are a nu ber of areas that ay cause entrap ent which could lead to injury.
Do not allow children to operate or play with the gate in any way .
Do not operate the gate unless within direct sight.
Shaded areas show the possible entrap ent areas of an auto ated gate.

L.E.D. INDICATIONS
There are several light e itting diodes (L.E.Ds) on the ain P.C.Board. These L.E.Ds indicate several conditions. These
indications are as follows:-
STAUS LED. ON = gate open or gate is in otion.
OFF = ains power off.
FLASHING ONCE EVERY TWO SECONDS = gate closed and ains power on.
OPEN LED. ON = gate open
CLOSED LED. ON = gate closed.
12v LED. ON = nor al.
OFF= 12 volt output fault. (Possible 3 a p fuse open) re ove power to re-set.
INF LED. ON = nor al.
OFF = infra red bea s faulty or obstruction in front of bea s.
This LED should be on at all ti es unless there is an obstruction in front of the bea s.
TRIG LED. ON = per anent trigger / trigger fault
OFF = nor al.
This LED should be off at all ti es and will flash when the otor is receiving a trigger.
PED LED. ON = per anent trigger / trigger fault
OFF = nor al.
This LED should be off at all ti es and will flash when the otor is receiving a pedestrian trigger.
CHARGE LED (Co pact 500 only ) (green LED on the outside of the otor). ON = nor al.
OFF = battery is not charging .
L.C.D SCREEN INDICATIONS. (Compact 300 only)
PROGRAM MODE PRESS TEST BUTTON—this indicates that the otor is in the progra ode and the test button
ust be pressed to start the progra ing sequence.
GATE CLOSING—this indicates that the gate is closing.
GATE OPENING—this indicates that the gate is opening.
GATE CLOSED—this indicates that the gate is closed.
GATE OPEN—this indicates that the gate is open.
AUTO-CLOSE ACTIVE—this indicates that the otor will close after the selected auto-close ti e.
PARTY MODE –this indicates that the auto –close function has been over-ridden.
MARKER OK—this indicates that the arker has sensed the agnet on the gate.
LOW BATT—this indicates that the battery is flat.
MAINS FAIL—this indicates that the ains power is off.
BEAMS BLOCKED—this indicates that the infra –red safety bea s are blocked or faulty .
SERVICE DUE –this indicates that the gate has done over 7000 operations and requires a service.
OBSTRUCTION—this indicates that the gate has sensed and obstruction in its path.

A loop detector is a triggering device that can be placed under the ground inside the pre ises. The loop will
trigger the gate open when a vehicle drives over it. It is reco ended that the DuraLoop type detector is used on
y our D.A.C.E otor.
For ore infor ation on the installation of the loop, see the instructions supplied with the DuraLoop.
NOTE: multi—user mode must be selected when a loop detector is used. (Dipswitch 1)

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Anti-lift device. Stops the gate being lifted off the rail.
Auto-close. The gate will close auto atically after a chosen ti e delay. (optional)
Battery . 12 volt 7 a p hour battery that drives the otor.
Calibration ode. Mode the otor is in after it has been placed in anual over-ride. (Co pact 300 only )
Collision sensing / over current. In the case of a collision with an obstacle, the gate will stop.
Charger. Delivers a trickle charge to the battery .
End stop. Stops gate fro running off the end of the rail and causing injury .
Foundation plate. Mechanis to anchor the otor to the ground.
Interco . A hand set and a gate station that allows co unication between the gate and the house. (optional)
Infra-red safety bea s. Prevents the gate closing on an obstruction. (optional)
L.C.D. Screen. Indicates infor ation regarding the operator status (Co pact 300 only )
Magnet. Attaches to the gate to allow for accurate gate operation. (Co pact 500 only )
Manual override. Allows the gate to be oved by hand.
Motor. Gate operator.
Multi-user. Allows the gate to open and will not accept any other trigger while opening. (optional)
Party - ode. Allows the gate to re ain open even when auto-close is selected. (optional)
P.C. Board. Main control board containing all the electronic co ponents.
Pedestrian ode. Allows the gate to open partially . (optional)
Pinion. The ain gear that drives the gate on the rack.
Positive close. The gate will close flush with the closed end stop / post. ( this feature is pre-set on the Co pact 300
and is an option on the Co pact 500 )
Rack. Length of toothed nylon gear that attaches to the gate.
Receiver. Radio receiver that receives a signal fro the re ote.
Re ote. Hand held device that sends a radio signal to the receiver to open or close the gate.
Transfor er. Reduces 220volts to 16 volts.
Test button / trigger. Button to operate the gate fro the P.C. Board. Used during progra ing.
ABOUT OVER-CURRENT. When the gate is oving and it strikes an object, the software will detect the object. This will
cause the otor to stop. If the over-current is detected while the gate is closing, the gate will stop and then re-open in the
slow speed. If the over-current is detected while the gate is opening, the gate will stop and re ain still. The gate will close
on the next trigger that it receives or after the auto-close ti e has expired. It should be noted that D.A.C.E. reco ends the
use of DURATRONIC bea s on all installations to ini ise the chance of the gate closing while there is an object in its
ABOUT THE BATTERY / MAINS POWER. It should be noted that the otor is battery operated. This eans that the
otor will not operate with a flat battery or if the battery is re oved fro the otor. The ains supply is used to charge the
battery only . The ains will not operate the otor. In the case of a ains power failure, the battery will continue to operate
the otor until the battery runs flat. This should be about two day s under nor al conditions. The Co pact 500 has two
L.E.Ds on the front of the otor. One L.E.D. is green the other is red. The green L.E.D. ust be on at all ti es, this indicates
that the ains is on. The red L.E.D. indicates that the battery is flat.
The Co pact 300 has a L.C.D. screen. The screen will show “ ains fail” if the ains is disconnected.
The screen will show “low batt” if the battery is going flat.
ABOUT POSITIVE CLOSE. This eans that the gate will close up against the end stop / gate post leaving no gap between
the gate and the post. This ensures that the electrical contacts of an electric fence ake a solid connection when the gate is
closed. This is a pre-set function on the Co pact 300. It is an optional function on the Co pact 500. To set up positive close
on the Co pact 500, si ply progra the otor with no agnet on the gate.
ABOUT AUTO-CLOSE. Auto-close can be set to ake the gate close auto atically after a chosen ti e period.
It ust be noted that it is dangerous and D.A.C.E. strongly advise against the setting of auto-close without the use of
DURATRONIC infra-red safety bea s.
ABOUT CALIBRATION MODE. (Compact 300 only)If the otor is placed into anual over-ride ode. The otor will
need to be operated 3 ti es after it has been re-engaged in operational ode. This is called the “Calibration ode” NOTE this
ust not be confused with progra ode. Calibration ode is done si ply by operating the gate fully open and closed three
ti es. On the third operation the gate ay go into slow ode, this is nor al.

The pictures below show the Co pact 500 and the Co pact 300 otors. The lids have been re oved to show greater
detail. The Co pact 500 and Co pact 300 share the sa e ajor co ponents. The differences are shown in the pictures.
The Co pact 500 is shown with the battery re oved. The foundation plate, base, gearbox, electric otor, battery ,
P.C.Board and the lid are all shared parts by both otors.

There are any different ty pes of interco s available on the arket today .
The wiring of these interco s can vary in so e ways, but the general wiring is the sa e. The three ain ty pes of interco
are as follows:-
220 volt. This ty pe nor ally plugs into the house ains, (220 volt supply) Four wires are used on this sy ste . Two wires
go to the gate station and two wires go to the otor (trigger).
12 volt. This ty pe nor ally gets its power fro the otor (12 v/dc). This eans that a ini u of six wires are needed to
run fro the handset. Two wires to the gate station and four wires to the otor.
6 volt. This ty pe is battery operated, nor ally using 4 x “AA” ty pe batteries for power. Only four wires are needed to run
fro the handset. Two wires to the gate station and two wires to the otor (trigger)
The ounting of the interco is the sa e with each ty pe. The handset is placed inside the house / office and the gate sta-
tion is placed at the point of entry, this is nor ally at the gate. The gate station is nor ally ounted by eans of a
“gooseneck”
It is important to note that the communication cable MUST be run in a conduit.
DO NOT run communication cable in the same conduit as any 220 v cable.

The site should be evaluated before the installation begins. The following ite s should be checked.
1. Flood level. The otor should be above flood level to avoid any da age to the otor.
2. The rail ust be level and should be above ground level, this will assist with keeping debris out of the path of the
wheels. Any debris ly ing on the rail ay cause the otor to over current or blow a fuse.
3. Trees and growth. Any over grown trees and bushes should be cleared to allow the gate to operate s oothly .
Mount the otor above the flood
level or a flood proof wall ust be built in order to retain
any water fro entering the otor
The gate ust not ove on its own when left in any position along the rail, if this does occur, the rail ust be leveled
before the gate is auto ated.
Ensure that the rail is kept clear of all debris as failure to do so ay lead to the gate j a ing . This ay lead
to otor over-current or blowing fuses.
The rail should be above ground level.
SITE EVALUATION
Keep all trees, branches, bushes and other growth clear of
the gate. Failure to do this ay lead to the gate j a ing.

All auxiliary equip ent should be connected with caution as an incorrect connection could lead to the P.C.Board
being da aged. Consult the wiring diagra s below. All power should be re oved fro the P.C.Board. before any
connections are ade.

striking an object while closing it does not guarantee against it.

Party ode is the auto-close override ode. This eans that the gate will re ain open and ignore the auto-close
ti e.
To set party ode :
1. Press and hold the re ote button down for 15 seconds. The gate is now in party ode.
Note the gate will start to open as soon as the button is pressed, this is nor al.
To reset the gate to nor al operation ode:
1. Press the re ote button twice within two seconds.
The gate will start to close. The gate is now in nor al operation ode.
Auto-close is an option that allows the gate to close auto atically after a chosen ti e delay, this delay can be fro 10
to 70 seconds. Auto-close is selected by using the dipswitches on the ain P.C.Board. Dipswitch nu bers 2,3 and 4
are the auto-close ti e select switches. The ti es are as follows. 2 off 3 off 4 off = no auto close.
2 on 3 off 4 off = 10 seconds
2 off 3 on 4 off = 20 seconds
2 off 3 off 4 on = 40 seconds
2 on 3 on 4 on = 70 seconds
Any co bination can be used to select the desired auto-close ti e.
NOTE It is strongly recommended that DuraOptic safety beams are used when auto-close is selected as this
reduces the chances of the gate closing on an object and causing injury or damage.
Dipswitches 2 , 3 and 4 are used to select auto-close ti es
Multi-user ode is used in heavy traffic areas where there is a possibility that a nu ber of triggers are received by
the otor at one ti e. eg office block or town house co plex. When ulti-user ode is set, the otor will accept
the first trigger and ignore any other trigger thereafter, this reduces the chance of the gate closing on an object.
Although the Co pact otor is designed to be used in a do estic application only, this function is available.
To set ulti-user ode, place nu ber 1 dipswitch in the ON position.
To disengage ulti-user ode, place nu ber 1 dipswitch in the OFF position.
NOTE !!! If Multi-user is selected, an auto-close ti e ust also be selected. If an auto-close ti e is not selected,
the gate will i ediately close after opening.

Ensure that the end stops are secure.
Reco ended 70 high
Ensure that the wheels are turning freely.
Reco ended 80 wheels.
Check the start up force of the gate using a fishing scale.
Ensure that the rail is level.
The gate ust not ove on its own when left in any position on the
rail.
GATE EVALUATION
It is extre ely i portant to evaluate the gate that is to be auto ated before any auto ation is done. The following
points ust be checked. All of the points entioned below are co on causes of gate proble s if not checked.

It is reco ended that 16 round bar is used to assist with
the s ooth operation of he gate.
Rollers ust roll freely .
The roller ounting can be used as an anti-lift device,
In the case of the rollers co ing off the ounting,
the gate ust re ain in an upright position.
A device ust be fabricated to allow for this.
If the gate has a full portal, the portal will provide
for this.
The gate ust not ja in the catch bracket when
opening or closing as this ay cause the otor to
over current.

REMOVING THE LID AND PLACING THE MOTOR IN MANUAL OVER-RIDE
To place the otor into anual Over -ride:-
• Open the door
• Turn the thu b-wheel clockwise until the gate is free to ove.
IMPORTANT !!! take note of the gate position before over-riding. (Co pact 300 only)
To place the otor into Operational ode:-
• Place the gate in the sa e position as it was in before.
• Turn the thu bwheel anti-clockwise while oving the gate . The gate will lock into place. It is i portant that the
gate is oved while the thu bwheel is turned as this allows the otor to re-engage.
• IMPORTANT.!!! Compact 300 only. The gate must always be operated THREE (3) times after it has been
placed bac k
into operational mo de. This is called Calibration mode, it allows the gate to re-calibrate the end stops.

ERASING ALL THE REMOTES FROM A RECEIVER.
1. Insert the j u per over the two pins called TX- E
2. Count 4 flashes of the green LED next to the test button on the ain PCB
3. Re ove the j u per
4. Replace the ju per and count two flashes
5. Re ove the j u per.
6. Replace the ju per and count four flashes
7. Re ove the j u per
The led will flash rapidly to indicate that the re otes have been erased fro the receiver.
ERASING A SINGLE REMOTE FROM THE RECEIVER.
To erase one single re ote fro the receiver, the re otes need to be nu bered in order of progra ing. This
eans that each re ote ust be given a nu ber before being progra ed to the receiver.
If this has been done then it is possible to erase a single re ote. The preceding re ote will erase the re ote
above it. For exa ple re ote nu ber 6 will erase re ote nu ber 7 etc.
1. Place the ju per over the TX--E pins.
2. Press the button of the re ote preceding the re ote that is to be erased.
3. Re ove the j u per.
The re ote will now be erased. The next re ote to be progra ed will take the place of the erased re ote.
To progra re otes to the on-board receiver co plete the following steps. It is reco ended that the re otes are
nu bered in order of progra ing. This will assist with erasing any lost or stolen re ote at a later stage
Step 1. press and hold the button on the re ote.
Step 2. place the j u per over the two pins on the P.C.Board called TX- L for 2 seconds.
Step 3. re ove the j u per fro the two pins.
Step 4. release the button on the re ote.
The re ote is now progra ed to the receiver.
Repeat the above steps for each re ote to be progra ed to the receiver. Max 15 re otes.

Over-current is the a ount of force that the otor delivers before stopping when an object is struck.
The a ount of force is controlled by the two potentio eters (pots) found on the ain P.C.Board.
To increase the a ount of force turn the pots clockwise.
To decrease the a ount of force turn the pots counter clockwise.
Set the current sensing pots according to the gates weight. Do not set the too high, as increasing the current sensing
ay cause serious injury or da age in the case of the gate striking an obj ect

P.C.B OARD LAYOUT
The P.C. board is a sensitive piece of electronic equip ent. All electronic equip ent should be handled with care. Never
connect or re ove wires on a P.C.Board while there is power on the board as this ay lead to da age. Never touch the
board with any etal obj ect. Never allow the board to get water on or near it as this ay lead to corrosion. No insecticide
or other sprays should be used on a P.C.Board. Do not atte pt to repair the P.C.Board. Any repairs ust be carried out by
an authorized agent.
Do not apply 220volts to the board. (16 volts AC and 12 volts DC only). Never reverse the polarity of the battery wires as
this will lead to extensive da age.
The charger circuit on the P.C.Board has a rectifier which converts AC voltage to DC voltage, this will generate so e
heat on the rectifier heat sink., care should be taken that no wires touch the heat sink as this ay cause the plastic insula-
tion of the wire to elt and ay lead to a short circuit.

ELECTRICAL WIRING
WARNING!!!: Danger of electrical shock is poss ible while connecting the wiring on this equipment.
Take special care when connecting any electrical wires. Ensure that ALL power is switched off or isolated before any
connections are ade. This equip ent is supplied with a 16 volt AC transfor er. Do not open or ta per with the
transfor er as this could cause electrical shock.
The transfor er delivers a 16 volt AC out-put to the charger on the ain P.C.Board. This 16 volt supply will keep the
battery charged. The battery operates the otor. In the case of ains power failure, the battery will continue to operate the
otor as nor al until the battery goes flat. The otor will then stop operating.
Note: this is a battery operated otor and will not operate with a flat battery regardless of the ains supply being
switched on.
The 16 volt AC wiring fro the transfor er in the house to the charger on the ain P.C.Board ust be run in a conduit
fro the house to the otor. The conduit ust ter inate inside the otor. No joins in the cable should be ade between
the transfor er and the otor.
The cable used to run the 16 volt AC fro the transfor er to the charger should be a ini u of a three core 1.5
cable. The conduit should have no sharp bends in it as this ay cause proble s in the future if the cable needs to be
pulled out and replaced. The conduit should be buried 300 underground.
DO NOT RUN 220 VOLTS IN THE SAME CONDUIT AS 16 VOLTS.

green and yellow wire on the ain P.C.Board.

The following diagra s show the correct wiring of the electric otor to the ain P.C.Board. The otor wires are found
protruding fro the otor, there are two wires, one wire is blue in colour the other wire is black in colour.
PROGRAMMING THE MOTOR
The otor ust be progra ed to the gate in order to operate correctly . .
It is i portant to note that the following points should be checked before the gate is progra ed.
1. Motor is level.
2. Rack is secure to the gate and engaged with the pinion gear.
3. The gate has adequate end stops. (DO NOT auto ate a gate without end stops.)
4. The gate runs freely and does not ja at ANY part of travel.
5. The agnet is ounted correctly. (Co pact 500 only)
TO PROGRAM THE MOTOR. Ensure that all power is re oved fro the board.
1. Manually open the gate 1 -1.5 This will be the pedestrian opening distance.
2. Lock the gate in place. (Operational ode.)
3. Insert the progra ju per over the two pins on the P.C. Board called “prog otor”.
4. Apply the battery power. The status L.E.D. will flash rapidly.
5. Press the trigger button. on the P.C.Board. The gate will auto atically do the following
6. A) Close slowly until the end stop is struck.
B) Open slowly until the end stop is struck.
7. When the otor is fully open. Re ove the j u per fro the prog otor pins.
8. Apply the AC ains power and ensure that the green “charge” led co es on.
The otor is now fully progra ed and ready for nor al use.
NOTE the progra ing procedure can be aborted at any stage si ply by re oving the battery wires. This will stop the otor
and the process can be re-started at any ti e.
In step (6 A) the gate ust close first. If the gate opens first, then the motor wires ust be reversed. This will change the
otor direction. {See Setting the otor direction}
Do not connect any other trigger wires to the board until the otor is fully progra ed.

MOUNTING THE RACK
The rack is attached to the gate using the TEK screws supplied. It is reco ended that the rack is not welded to the gate
as this prevents any adjust ent at a later stage. The rack ust esh with the pinion gear throughout the co plete length
of the gate.
A 2 gap between the pinion gear and the rack should be set. This avoids any tight spots.
To ount the rack, co plete the following steps.
1. Open the gate anually . The gate must be fully open.
2. Place a length of rack on the pinion.
3. Insert the first TEK screw.
4. Roll the gate to the next ounting hole and
insert the next TEK screw.
5. Repeat step 4 until the co plete length of
rack is attached to the gate. The rack ay need to be cut
if any section is protruding fro the end of the gate.
It is i portant to ensure that the rack stay s in full contact
with the pinion gear at all ti es during ounting
When the process is co plete and the rack is attached securely to
the gate, the otor ust be adj usted to allow a 2 gap between
the pinion gear and the rack. The best way of doing this is by
dropping the otor 2 on the bolts. Push the gate open
and closed by hand to ensure that the rack is adjusted
correctly . Check that the rack is not too tight or too
loose on the pinion gear. If it is found to be loose
or tight, the rack ust be adj usted accordingly . Failure to do this
ay result in incorrect operation of the gate.

It is very i portant that the otor is ounted on a fir foundation that can not ove or beco e loose over ti e. The
foundation should be constructed fro concrete. The size of the plinth should be about 300 x 300 square and about
200 deep. The foundation plate supplied with the otor ust be securely ounted to the concrete using coach
screws and plugs. The foundation plate can also be welded to the gate rail if need be. The concrete should be allowed
sufficient ti e to set before the otor is ounted onto the plate.

When anchoring the otor it is i portant to ensure that the following points are checked.
1. The electrical cable is in place.
2. The concrete is fully set.
3. The otor foundation ountings are secure and can not ove or beco e loose.
4. The otor should be set level and parallel to the gate.
5. The otor ust be set above the flood level or if this is not possible, a flood proof wall should be constructed
around the otor.
After placing the otor onto the three jack-up
bolts, place the three cla ping nuts and washers
over the bolts to cla p the otor in place. Use the
Nut Applicator as shown below.
