IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed. These instructions should be saved for future reference:
Read and familiarise yourself with all operating instructions before using this
Electric Blanket.
Before plugging your unit into the mains, visually check that the unit is intact
and has not suffered any transit damage.
This blanket should never be used whilst folded as this will cause overheating
and the operation of the thermal safety device.
Bed clothes should not be folded back when the unit is switched on.
Arrange the Heated Blanket so it is not positioned beneath bolsters or pillows.
Do not dry clean this Heated Blanket, for cleaning follow the instructions
supplied.
Check the blanket regularly for damage, including the power cord and
controller. If any damage is evident or the blanket is not functioning normally
cease using it immediately.
There are no user serviceable parts, the blanket should only be repaired or
serviced by a qualified service engineer.
It is recommended that the blanket is serviced every two years.
When storing the blanket allow it to fully cool then fold neatly but not tightly or
roll loosely avoiding sharp bends in the heating element.
Do not store other items on top of the blanket.
This blanket is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use
or for use in hospitals.
It is recommended this Heated Blanket is used in conjunction with a residual
current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not greater than
30mA.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years old and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Not to be used by very young children (0-3 years).
Do not use folded or rucked.
Do not tuck in this blanket or use if the wired area is tucked in.
Do not insert pins into this blanket.
This blanket is only for use by humans and shouldn’t be used for pets.
Over long use at the high setting could result in skin irritation or burns.
Do not use if damp or wet.

When in use the control unit must not be placed near open windows or inside
the bed covers.
Be sure the blanket is only connected to an electrical supply as specified in
the instructions.
Switch off the power and remove the plug from the socket outlet when not in
use.
Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are
such signs, if the appliance has been misused or does not work return it to
the supplier before switching it on again.
This appliance must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other
very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.
Children under the age of three are not to use this appliance due to their
inability to react to overheating.
This appliance is not to be used by young children over the age of three
unless the controls have been pre-set by a parent or guardian, or unless the
child has been adequately instructed on how to operate the controls safely.
The appliance should not be used on an adjustable bed.

Fitting the electric blanket
1. Place the blanket on the mattress, leaving room for the pillow and with the mains lead
at the pillow end.
2. Pass the middle tie tape under the mattress and through the middle loop on the
opposite side.(1)
3. Pass the end tape under the corresponding corner of the mattress, through the end loop
and down under the other bottom corner and then through the bottom side loop and
tie firmly.(2)
4. Repeat procedure for the tie tape at the top end.(3)
5. The blanket should now be firmly tied to the bed.
Operation and controls
This blanket is only to be used with the controller supplied with the
appliance.
The controller has raised markings to allow for easy temperature
adjustment in the dark.
The settings are:

There is a neon indicator which illuminates when the blanket is switched on
NOTE: On initial use it is recommended that the blanket be set on 3 for a
period of two hours to dry any moisture in the blanket and mattress.
For continuous use setting 1 is recommended.
NBDuring the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a
slight odour. This is normal and will quickly disappear, It is the
coating applied to the heating elements to prevent any corrosion
during transit.

Care and maintenance
Do not dry clean.
Do not iron.
Do not machine wash or machine dry.
Before cleaning ensure the controller is set to 0 (OFF) position and remove
socket from the wall and the connector plug from the blanket.
The heating elements within the blanket are fully waterproof.
NOTE: This blanket should never be used whilst folded as this will cause
overheating and the operation of the thermal safety device.
Spot cleaning
Sponge the affected area using a lukewarm neutral detergent or a mild
soap solution. Follow this by sponging using clean water. Remove any
excess water by compressing the wet area between absorbent towels.
Hand washing
Immerse the blanket only in a lukewarm neutral detergent or soap solution
(DO NOT ALLOW THE CONTROLLER TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH
ANY LIQUIDS)
Soak for five minutes then remove from the solution and gently squeeze
the solution through the blanket, rinse in clean water and allow to dry DO
NOT WRING.
Please read these operating instructions thoroughly and keep them in a
safe place for future reference.
Remove all packing materials and discard responsibly.
