SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) whose physical, sensory or
mental capabilities may be different or reduced,
or who lack experience or knowledge, unless such
persons receive supervision or training to operate
the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Do not store or use combustible materials such as
gasoline or other flammable vapors or liquids in the
vicinity of this or any other appliance.
Do not insert fingers or other objects into grills or
openings in the appliance.
Do not cover or block the intake and exhaust
openings.
Do not operate the appliance without the filter
installed.
Do not operate the appliance near heat sources.
This appliance is intended for indoor, residential
applications only. Do not use this appliance
outdoors. Do not use this appliance for commercial
or industrial applications.
Warning - To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock,
do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control
device.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Do not connect the appliance to extension cords,
adapters or together with another appliance in the
same wall outlet.
Do not splice the power cord. If the power supply
cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similar qualified
person in order to avoid hazard.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance
has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
licensed electrician to install the proper outlet. Do
not alter the plug in any way.
To avoid risk of electric shock, do not operate this
appliance in an area that is likely to accumulate
standing water. If this condition develops, disconnect
the power supply before stepping into the water.
This appliance complies with the maximum
allowable concentration of ozone of 0.05 parts per
million by volume in a 24 hour period. The Health
Canada Guideline 2010 recommends that the
maximum exposure limit, based on an average of 8
hours, is 0.02 ppmv or less when tested in a sealed,
controlled room approximately 30 m3.

FILTER INSTALLATION
Ensure that the filter is properly installed before
using the appliance. Ensure that the air filter is
unplugged when installing the filter.
1. Remove the air inlet grill.
2. Remove the pre-filter by pressing the U-shaped
buckle and pulling outward.
3. Remove the true HEPA filter.
4. Remove the packaging from the filter.
5. Install the filter.
6. Replace the pre-filter by aligning the bottom and
pressing the top inward until it clicks.
7. Replace the air inlet grill by aligning the bottom
and pressing the top inward until it clicks.
8. Repeat this process on both sides of the air
purifier for both true HEPA filters.

purifier. They are installed the same way on both

ON FIRST USE
When the air purifier is plugged in for the first time
it will go through a start up sequence that will take
approximately 1 - 2 minutes. During this time the
display panel and indicator lights will flash as the
appliance activates.
CHILD LOCK
Press and hold the fan speed button and the mode
button at the same time for 3 seconds to engage
the child lock. The buttons on the control panel will
not function when the child lock is engaged. Press
and hold the fan button and the mode button at the
same time for 3 seconds to disengage the child lock.
SLEEP
Press the mode button to activate sleep mode. This
mode will turn off the lights and indicators on the
control panel except for the sleep light and will run
the fan at a lower speed to ensure the air purifier is
as quiet as possible during sleeping hours. Press the
mode button again to stop sleep mode.
TURBO
Press the mode button to activate turbo mode. This
mode will run the fan at high speed for a period
of time to purify a large amount of air in a short
period of time.

PM2.5 MOLECULES
PM2.5 molecules are small particulates in the air
that reduce visibility and cause the air to appear
hazy such as air pollution from cars.
When the PM2.5 feature is activated, the air purifier
will measure the particles in the air and display the
current level.
3. Fan button: Press to set the fan speed.
4. Mode button: Press to set the desired mode.
5. Power button: Press to turn the air purifier on or
off.
VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
Volatile organic compounds are a large group of
chemicals found in many consumer products such
as paint, varnishes, cooking oils, air fresheners, etc.
These can often be released into the air and can
pose health risks.
This air purifier will regularly measure the VOC in
the air and display the ambient level on the display
panel.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
AIR INLET GRILL
Ensure the air purifier is unplugged during any
cleaning or maintenance.
The air inlet grill can be cleaned with a vacuum
cleaner and wiped with a cloth.

CLEANING
• Unplug the appliance before cleaning or
servicing.
• Clean the cabinet with a lukewarm damp cloth
and neutral detergent. Dry the cabinet with a
lint-free dry cloth.
• Do not use gasoline, paint thinner or other
chemicals to clean the appliance.
• Do not wash the appliance directly under a tap
or using a hose. It may cause electrical damage.
PRE-FILTER
Ensure the air purifier is unplugged during any
cleaning or maintenance.
When the pre-filter progress bar turns red, the pre-
filter should be cleaned.
Remove the filter from the air purifier and clean it
with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth. If the filter
is very dirty, it can be soaked in warm water and a
mild detergent for ten minutes.
Ensure the pre-filter is completely dry before
replacing it in the air purifier. Once replaced, press
and hold the PM2.5 detection button for 3 seconds
to reset the pre-filter progress bar.
AIR OUTLET GRILL
The air outlet grill can be cleaned with a vacuum
cleaner and wiped with a cloth.
TRUE HEPA FILTER
True HEPA filter model number: DAP290-F
Two are included with the air purifier. When the
True HEPA filter progress bar turns red, the filters
should be replaced. Once replaced, press and hold
the PM2.5 detection button for 3 seconds to reset
the filter progress bar.

of the following methods:

NOTE: Replacement filters are not covered under
warranty and must be purchased separately.

TROUBLESHOOTING

DISPOSAL
This appliance should not be treated as regular
household waste. Check for local regulatory
compliance regarding the approved and safe
disposal of this appliance.
ERROR CODES
E1 - filter installation error
• check that all air filters are correctly installed
E0 - hardware fault
Eu - sensor fault
E3 - fan speed fault
If the codes E0, Eu or E3 appear on the display,
unplug the air purifier and allow it to sit undisturbed
for 5 minutes. If the error code persists when the air
purifier is plugged in, please contact a local service
depot.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY
This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating
conditions intended by the manufacturer.
This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter
“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.
TERMS OF WARRANTY
Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.
First Year
During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s
option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

Danby reserves the right to limit the boundaries of “In Home Service” to the proximity of an Authorized Service Depot. Any app liance

requiring service outside the limited boundaries of “In Home Service” , it will be the consumer’s responsibility to transport the appliance (at
their own expense) to the original retailer (point of purchase) or a service depot for repair. See “Boundaries of In Home Serv ice” below.
Contact your dealer from whom your unit was purchased, or contact your nearest authorized Danby service depot, where service
must be performed by a qualied service technician.
If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial appli cation, all
obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditio ns, representations or guarantees
under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall no t be responsible for any damages
to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of
the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:
1) Power failure.
2) Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.
3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.
4) Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating con ditions
(extremely high or low room temperature).
5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).
6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.
7) Service calls resulting in customer education.
8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).
Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bills of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our
AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEPOT.

Warranty Service
In-home
Transportation charges to and from the service location are not protected by this warranty and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
During the first twenty four (24) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired
or replaced, at warrantor’s option, at no charge to the original purchaser.
Contact the dealer where the unit was purchased, or contact the nearest authorized Danby service depot, where
service must be performed by a qualified service technician. If service is performed on the unit by anyone other
than an authorized service depot, all obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to transport the appliance to the nearest authorized service depot.

EXIGENCES DE SÉCURITÉ
Ne branchez pas l’appareil à des rallonges, des
adaptateurs ou à un autre appareil dans la même
prise murale.
Ne pas épisser le cordon d’alimentation. Si le
cordon d’alimentation est endommagé, il doit être
remplacé par le fabricant, son agent de service ou
une personne qualifiée similaire afin d’éviter tout
risque.
Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, cet
appareil est équipé d’une fiche polarisée (une lame
est plus large que l’autre). Cette fiche ne peut être
insérée dans une prise polarisée que dans un sens.
Si la fiche ne rentre pas complètement dans la prise,
inversez la prise. Si cela ne convient toujours pas,
contactez un électricien agréé pour installer la prise
appropriée. Ne modifiez pas la fiche de quelque
façon que ce soit.
Pour éviter tout risque de choc électrique, ne pas
utiliser cet appareil dans une zone susceptible
d’accumuler de l’eau stagnante. Si cette condition
se développe, débranchez l’alimentation avant de
pénétrer dans l’eau.
Cet appareil est conforme à la concentration
maximale permise d’ozone de 0,05 partie par
million en volume sur une période de 24 heures.
La ligne directrice 2010 de Santé Canada
recommande que la limite d’exposition maximale,
basée sur une moyenne de 8 heures, soit de 0,02
ppmv ou moins lorsqu’elle est testée dans une pièce
étanche et contrôlée d’environ 30 m3.

INSTRUCTIONS D’INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION DU FILTRE
Assurez-vous que le filtre est correctement installé
avant d’utiliser l’appareil. Assurez-vous que le filtre
à air est débranché lors de l’installation du filtre.
1. Retirez la grille d’entrée d’air.
2. Retirez le préfiltre en appuyant sur la boucle en
forme de U et en tirant vers l’extérieur.
3. Retirez le vrai filtre HEPA.
4. Retirez l’emballage du filtre.
5. Installez le filtre.
6. Remplacez le préfiltre en alignant le bas et en
appuyant sur le haut vers l’intérieur jusqu’à ce
qu’il s’enclenche.
7. Remplacez la grille d’entrée d’air en alignant
le bas et en appuyant sur le haut vers l’intérieur
jusqu’à ce qu’il s’enclenche.
8. Répétez ce processus des deux côtés du
purificateur d’air pour les deux vrais filtres
HEPA.

À LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION
Lorsque le purificateur d’air est branché pour la
première fois, il passera par une séquence de
démarrage qui prendra environ 1 à 2 minutes.
Pendant ce temps, le panneau d’affichage et les
voyants clignotent lorsque l’appareil s’active.
VERROUILLAGE ENFANT
Appuyez sur le bouton de vitesse du ventilateur et
sur le bouton de mode et maintenez-les enfoncés
en même temps pendant 3 secondes pour activer
la sécurité enfants. Les boutons du panneau de
commande ne fonctionnent pas lorsque la sécurité
enfants est activée. Appuyez simultanément sur les
boutons du ventilateur et du mode et maintenez-les
enfoncés pendant 3 secondes pour désactiver la
sécurité enfants.
VEILLE
Appuyez sur le bouton mode pour activer le
mode veille. Ce mode éteindra les lumières et
les indicateurs sur le panneau de commande à
l’exception de la lumière de veille et fera fonctionner
le ventilateur à une vitesse inférieure pour s’assurer
que le purificateur d’air est aussi silencieux que
possible pendant les heures de sommeil. Appuyez
à nouveau sur le bouton de mode pour arrêter le
mode veille.
TURBO
Appuyez sur le bouton de mode pour activer le
mode turbo. Ce mode fera fonctionner le ventilateur
à haute vitesse pendant un certain temps pour
purifier une grande quantité d’air en un court laps
de temps.

MOLÉCULES PM2,5
Les molécules de PM2,5 sont de petites particules
dans l’air qui réduisent la visibilité et donnent
à l’air un aspect trouble, comme la pollution
atmosphérique des voitures.
Lorsque la fonction PM2,5 est activée, le purificateur
d’air mesurera les particules dans l’air et affichera
le niveau actuel.

LES COMPOSÉS ORGANIQUES VOLATILS
Les composés organiques volatils sont un grand
groupe de produits chimiques présents dans de
nombreux produits de consommation tels que
la peinture, les vernis, les huiles de cuisson, les
assainisseurs d’air, etc. Ceux-ci peuvent souvent être
libérés dans l’air et présenter des risques pour la
santé.
Ce purificateur d’air mesurera régulièrement les
COV dans l’air et affichera le niveau ambiant sur le
panneau d’affichage.

SOIN ET MAINTENANCE
GRILLE D’ENTRÉE D’AIR
Assurez-vous que le purificateur d’air est débranché
pendant tout nettoyage ou entretien.
La grille d’entrée d’air peut être nettoyée avec un
aspirateur et essuyée avec un chiffon.

NETTOYAGE
• Débranchez l’appareil avant de le nettoyer ou
de l’entretenir.
• Nettoyez le boîtier avec un chiffon humide tiède
et un détergent neutre. Séchez le boîtier avec un
chiffon sec non pelucheux.
• N’utilisez pas d’essence, de diluant à peinture
ou d’autres produits chimiques pour nettoyer
l’appareil.
• Ne pas laver l’appareil directement sous un
robinet ou avec un tuyau. Cela pourrait causer
des dommages électriques.
PRÉ-FILTRE
Assurez-vous que le purificateur d’air est débranché
pendant tout nettoyage ou entretien.
Lorsque la barre de progression du pré-filtre devient
rouge, le pré-filtre doit être nettoyé.
Retirez le filtre du purificateur d’air et nettoyez-le
avec un aspirateur ou un chiffon humide. Si le filtre
est très sale, il peut être trempé dans de l’eau tiède
et un détergent doux pendant dix minutes.
Assurez-vous que le préfiltre est complètement sec
avant de le replacer dans le purificateur d’air. Une
fois remplacé, appuyez et maintenez le bouton
de détection PM2.5 pendant 3 secondes pour
réinitialiser la barre de progression du pré-filtre.

La grille de sortie d’air peut être nettoyée avec un
aspirateur et essuyée avec un chiffon.

Deux sont inclus avec le purificateur d’air. Lorsque
la barre de progression du filtre True HEPA devient
rouge, les filtres doivent être remplacés. Une

réinitialiser la barre de progression du filtre.

local.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY
This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating
conditions intended by the manufacturer.
This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter
“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.
TERMS OF WARRANTY
Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.
First Year
During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s
option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

Danby reserves the right to limit the boundaries of “In Home Service” to the proximity of an Authorized Service Depot. Any app liance

must be performed by a qualied service technician.
If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial appli cation, all
obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:
1) Power failure.
2) Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.
3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.
4) Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating con ditions
(extremely high or low room temperature).
5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).
6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.
7) Service calls resulting in customer education.
8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).
Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bills of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN
INSTALACIÓN DEL FILTRO
Asegúrese de que el filtro esté instalado
correctamente antes de usar el aparato. Asegúrese
de que el purificador de aire esté desenchufado al
instalar el filtro.
1. Retire la rejilla de entrada de aire.
2. Retire el prefiltro presionando la hebilla en
forma de U y tirando hacia afuera.
3. Retire el verdadero filtro HEPA.
4. Retire el embalaje del filtro.
5. Instale el filtro.
6. Reemplace el prefiltro alineando la parte inferior
y presionando la parte superior hacia adentro
hasta que haga clic.
7. Vuelva a colocar la rejilla de entrada de aire
alineando la parte inferior y presionando la
parte superior hacia adentro hasta que haga
clic.
8. Repita este proceso en ambos lados del
purificador de aire para ambos filtros HEPA
verdaderos.
