DO NOT use plug adapters. See Table 2 for

to use an extension cord to connect your air

comfort needs and leave thermostat at that
chosen setting,

Because the compTessor is located on the controls
aide of the unit (right side), this side wilt be heavier
and more awkward to manipulata_ Inadequate
supporton control side of the unit can reautt in

property,.Therefore, it is recommended to have
someon9 assist you during the installation of this
uniL
Your unit is designed to evaporate condensation
under normal conditions. However, under
extreme humidity conditions, excess condensation
may cause basepan to overflow Lothe outside°
The Unitshould be installed where condensation
run.off cannot drip on pedestrians or neighboring
properties.
A drain tube connection (excluding hose) tsprovided
to redirect condensation ovedlow. See Fig,.25
!. Select the Best Location
A.. This room air conditioner is designed to fit easily
into a single or doubts hung window However,
since window designs vary, it may be necessary
to make some modifications for safe, proper
installation.
BMake sure window end frame isatructuraUy
sound and free from dry end rotted wood_
C. For maximum efficiency, ]nstall the air conditioner
on a side of a house or building which favors
more shade thansunlight.. Ifthe unit is in direct
sunlight, itIs advisableto provide an awning over
the un{L
Do Provide sufficient clearance around the cabinet to
el]my for ample air circulationthroughthe uniL
See Fig_2_ The rear of the unitshould be
outdoors and not in a garage norinsidee
building. Keep unit as far away as possible from
obstacles!obslructions and at least 30" above the
flooror ground._Curtains and other objects wilhln
aroom should be prevented from blocking the air
flow.
E. Be certain the proper electrical outlet is wllhln
reach of the Instetlation.Use only a singte
outlet circuit rated at 15 amps. All wiring should
be tn accordance with local and national
electricalcodes.
E DO NOT USE "REGULAR" EXTENSION CORDS
WITH THIS UNIT. If it is necessary to use an
extension cord to connect your airconditioner,
use an approved "air conditioner" extension cord
only. (available at most tocal hardware stores)
GDO NOT Install unit where leakage of combustible
gas is suspected. Your air condilioner may latito
operate in air containing oits (including machine
oils),sulfide gas, near hot springs, etc...

1. Preparation to Remove the Air Conditioner
Slide-Out Chassis
•Positionthe air conditioner on it's back, Fig° 1
• Press the indents marked "PUSH" on the bottom
corners of the front grill,this willcause the air
fl!lerto (pop,out) release. Fig, la
• Grasp the air fillerand pulestraight out Fig lb
• Remove the phillips screw securing the grill front
to the chassis., (from behind where the filter was
removed) Fig Ic
• Toremove the front grill, grasp the lower front
corner(edge) of1he grill, pulling (gently) outward
and upward, (Flg 4)
• Repeal the same procedure on the 3remaining
corners,(sides)
•Before the front grill can be completely removed
from the cabinet, itwill be necessary to
disconnect the (male/tome!e) electrical wire
harness focaled directly behind the front grill
controlpanel (Fig 5a)
• Remove the two retaining screws located al the
back of the cabinet securing the slide-out
chassis to the cabinet. (Fig 5)
NOTE:These screws do not have to be
reinstalled once removed, otherwise you wilt
not be_ableto remove the slide-out chassis
once the unit is Installed in the window.
-Remove the phillips screw & retaining brackel
securing the sltde,out-chasslso (lower front
cabinet) Fig,6a
NOTE:This retaining bracket &screw "must"
be reinstalled upon comp=etlon of the window
installation. (to secure slide-out-chassis to
cabinet)
•Grasp the pull handle at the front of the slide-out-
chassisend carefullyslide the air conditioner out
ofthe cabinet. (Fig.6)

2. Assembly of the Upper & Lower Channels,
to Cabinet,
•"L" ShapedTop Channel: f_sta_tthe %" shaped
channet tothe lop of the cabinet as shown in Fig, 8
using lout (4) 1/4" screws,
•"U" Shaped Bottom Channel: Instal!the "U"
shaped channel to the bottom of the cabinet as
shown fn Fig,8using four (4) 1/4" screws,
NOTE: Some models may already have the
bottom channel iaclory installed.
3, Assembly of the Side Curtains to Cabinet.
•Sflde the shutters into the top and bottom
channels as shown In Fig, 9+The shutlers are
!denttl_ed(on frame) as loll &right° Attach the
shutters to the cabinet using four 1/4" screws on
each side,
4, Installation of MounUng Brackets and First
Sealing Strip
SPECIAL NOTE: Windows come In avarlety of
different designs and styles. Therefole, it may be
necessary lo modify or improvise on your
parlicular lnstaltaliem
A. Altach the bracket assembly to the 90_angle
supporl bracke!s (Fig. 16) using four 1 1t2" x
1/4" bolts. ([we bolts per bracket)
Secure with the four i/4" lock washers and four
1/4" nuts. DO NOT immediate!y tighten these
bolts as Itmay be necessary to adjust the depth
el the bracket assembly, depending on the
depth of your window sill. See Fig's° 1B& 19,
Test lhe bracket assembfy In the window before
installing,if satisfied, lighten all belts. Install the
two levelling screws Into the 90" support
brackels_ See Fig. 16 if the levelling screws are
distanced too far away from the wall toprovide
adequate stability, it may be necessary to shim
_hisaraa with a solid piece of wood, See Fig. "[9,
B. Measure the length of the +nsidesill and lind the
senior as shown in Fig. 17.
Measure 12+5"on each side of center and mark
these points, Align the V-siot on the bracket with
each corresponding mark and mount the
brackets Io the sill using two 3/4" screws &two
flat washers per bracket.
Brackels should be perpendicular to the inside
window sill, with step (U) bracket light against the sill.
See Fig. 18,
C. For proper condensatlbn run-off it will be
necessary to adjust the angle/pitch of the window
brackets This Is accomplished by adjusting the
distance o! the leveling screw on Ihe outer waft,
The maximum angle/pitch should not exceed
more than 3116".,See Fig 1B,

5. Installation of the Cabinet
Ao Place the air conditionercabinet into the window
with the "U'shaped mounting channel (on top)
positioned in front of the upper window sash. The
"U" shaped channel on the bottom of the cabinet
should be positioned in the "recessed" portion of
the tracktocated at the front of the window
brackets. Pu_lthe window down until it restsjust
behind thefront flangeof the (top) "U' shaped
mounting channel, See Fig. 14.

B, Align one hole Inthe bottom of the cabinet with
one hoJeIn the bracket assembly,, Secure the
cabinet to the bracket using a 114"screw
provided. Repeat the same procedure on the
opposite side of the cabinet, Fig. 15
Co Check tomake sure the =pitch" (angle) of the
cabine! ts slanted slightly downward on the
outside. If necessary, re-adjust the levelling
screws Inthe mounling bracket.F/got8
D. Cut the first foam sealing strip to fitthe
underside (bottom}of the lower window sash.
Remove the peel-off backing on the foam and
attach the foam strip to the sash. See Fig, 13,

6. Inslalllng the Slide+OutChassis into Cabinet;
(please seek assistance for this procedure)
• Carefully slide the air conditioner back tnlo
the cabinet, {in window)
. Retnsta]l retaining bracket and screw removed
earlier.,(lower front cabinet) See Fig+6a
• Expand lhe shutter lrames (tully) on each side
and secure the top ofthe shutter frame tothe
window sash using one 3/4" screw & flat washer
on each sldeoFtg_23
oInstall a shutter clamp on each side of the
(lower) shutter frame and secure to window sill
using one 3f4" screw & fiat washer on each side,,

7. Re]netafllng Front Grill:
Before re-installing the Trent grill back on the
cabinet, you must re-_nnect the (male!female)
electrical wire harness between the front grill
control panel and the main (cabinet) untL
Make sure the electrical connection isfirmly end

inserted into the retain+rigslots in the cabinet+
• Repeat this procedure on allsides, making sure
the Iresh air ventilation lever arm and power cord

LED DISPLAY: The LED window displays the

• Ambient Room Temperature

NOTE: During normal operating conditions,(after all
settingsare complete] the LED readout will always
default to show (display) the "ambient room
temperature". In order to view the "set" temperature
of the air conditioner, press either of the temperature
key pads once.
OPOWER SWITCH: turns power ontoff
SWII_G: Activates the automatic air swing
(osclllalion) feature..
(ENERGY SAVER): Press and hold the =SWING"
keypad for 3seconds 1oactivate the ENERGY
SAVER program.This program Is designed to
reduce energy consumption by limiting (restricting)
operation ollhe fan motor with the operation of the
compressor._t.e.

NOTE:When the ENERGY SAVER feature Is not
selected, the fan motor operates continuously,
even after the compressor (cooling mode) has

Fresh Air Ventilation should be kept [nthe

Fresh Air Ventilation should be kept inthe "open"
position during "fan mode" only when cteafing
smoke and!orodors from the room.
ONE TOUCH: Activates a (factory) pro-set

FAN: Aclivates fan speed settings. (High, Medium,
Low)

COOL or FAN mode will]llumlnale,identifying the
selected mode isoperational.
ATEMPERATURE SETTINGS:
Press the _keypad to increaselhe set (operating)
temperature of the air conditioner.Each time lhe
keypad ispressed the temperature is increased as
follows;

Press the ykeypad to decrease the set (operating)
lemperalure of the air conditioner.Each time the
keypad Is pressed the temperature is decreased as
follows;

FAN:
Press this keypad toactivate the appropriate fan
speed setting. Each depression of the keypadwilt
allernale through High, Medium, Low fan speed

option will Illumtnefe, Identifying the fan speed
selected.
SWING;
Press the SWING keypad toacllvale the aulomatlc
air swing (oscillation)feature. The green pilot light
adjacent to the SWING keypad willilluminate,
identifying the sefeoled mode is operational, 'The
vertical louvers will oscillate back and forth (side lo
side) aL_tomatically sweeping coldair alternately for
comfortable cooling.Tostop the air swing feature,
press the SWING keypad again, Ihe green pilot light
adjacenl to the keypad wig go off.
(ENERGY SAVER):
Toaclivate the ENERGY SAVER feature, press and
hold the "SWING" keypad for 3 seconds°
The green pilot light dtrectly above the ENERGY
SAVER mode will illuminate, tdentfyingthe eefecfed
mode Is operational "TheENERGY SAVER program
helps to reduce energy (elect?icily)consumption by
controlling (limiting) operation of the fan motor with
the operation (cycle) of the compressor, ice.

depression of the TIMER keypad will increase the
selected time in t hour increments..
AUTO -START;
Before activatingthe "auto* start" program, you must
first select (sat) the operatingeondition_of the air
conditioner" _..e.temperature setting and fan speed),
Once the settings are complete, the air condJlloner
must be switched off'.(non-operational)
Depress lhe TIMER keypad and the auto-start time
w]l!appear in the LED display, select Ihe required
lime (0 o-12hours) and the air condtlionerwll_start
automatically at the estab!ished time.
AUTO -STOP:
Turn the air condlttoneron and select the required
operatingconditicnso(ice,.temperature setting and
fan speed). Depress the TIMER keypad and the time
will appear in the LED display, select the required
aulo stop lime, (0 .-,12hours) and the air condffioner
wilI stop automatically at the established timer
NOTE: It is not possible to operate both the
"auto-start" and "auto-stop" feature within a
single program, All auto-timed programs are
automatically erased after the set program is
complete.
ONETOUCH:
Press this keypad to activate a pro-sol (factory)
temperature setling of 22°(3(71.6_F}°The air
conditioner wttloperate and mainleln the Indoor
temperature at this selting_

E1 =CLEAN AIR FILTER:
A message prompt "El" wiltautomaticaliy appear in
the LED window indicating, when it }stime to clean
the air lilter. The E1 program is a (built.in) time
device that operates based on total (air conditioner}
running time, It is very _mportant to keep the air filter
clean at all times tnorder to maximize cooling
efficiency (See Cleaning Air Fitter)The air filter
"must" becleaned when the "El" message is
displayed To cancel (eliminate) the El message
from the LED display, the air conditioner "must" be
disconnected (unplugged) from the power supply
and re,connectedoThis action automalicaJly re-sets
the "El" program internal time devlce_NOTE; In the
event ef a power failure, the "El" program Is
automatically re-set, therefore we suggest you
remove and clean the filter before re-starting the
unit.

It ispossible to change the LED temperature display
to read "Celsius" or 'Farenhe]ght", by pressingthe
(temperalure) VV keypads simultaneouslyo The
green pilotlight under the "C/F" (temperature
symbof) wilt illuminate, identifying the mode
selection.

Activates the automatic "AIR SWING" (vertical fouver

FAN:
Activates the =FAN"speed sailings (High, Medium,
Low)
ONETOUCR:
Activates a (factory) pro-set temperalure setting of
22_C(71.E_F)o
Batteries:
Tooperate the hand held remote control, you wttl
require two "AAA" (included),
NOTE: Batteries should be replaced when:
a) No signal (heap) Is heard when initiating
program commands from the remote control to
the main unit
b) The main unit does not respond to the remote
control program commands..
Battery Replacement:
I) Slide the lower (battery) cover down. (located on
rear of unit)
2) Insert two"AAA" inslde the battery chamber. (as
depicted)
3) Re-lr]sta[I lower battery cover.
4) II the remote control Is not being used for
extended time periods, (vacation, off season) the
batteries should be removed from the remote
control unit.

Remote ControlOperating Instructions:
