The Alarm Output Module is used to send signals to auto-
matically start or stop external devices such as irrigation
systems, heaters, or fans. Have a heater automatically turn
on when the temperature drops and stay on until it warms up.
Turn an irrigation system on and off several times a day during
hot summer months. Or turn sprinklers on and have them turn
off if it gets too windy. For use with GroWeather,Energy
EnviroMonitor, or Health EnviroMonitor.
Withallofouradvancedstationsyoucan:
• Select up to four alarm conditions for output.
• Select high and low alarms for the same weather parameter.
• Select alarms from two different weather parameters.
WithGroWeatherLink&EnergyWeatherLinkyoucanalso:
• Turn remote devices on or off from your keyboard.
• Write your own software program to turn devices on or off.
• Switch the power to a radio data link on and off to conserve
energy when operating on solar power or a battery.
The Alarm Output Module can directly control devices such
as irrigation controllers and thermostats. To switch power to
heaters, motors, or other high-power equipment, you will need
to add electrical relays (not available from Davis Instruments).
Includes power adapter and 2' (0.6 m) of standard cable to con-
nect the Alarm Output Module to the sensor interface module.
When the circuits being controlled by the Alarm Output Module
are closer to the console than to the sensor interface module,
connect the cable to an Interface Cable Adapter Module instead
of the sensor interface module. For more details, ask for
Application Note 3, Using the Alarm Output Module.
