maximum-paths <1-6> The input range of command “maximum-paths <1-2>” changes to
“maximum-paths <1-6>”.
show running-config
Title Description
show running-config interface [ {ethernet
<unit>/<port-type><port> | loopback <loopbackId>
| port-channel <Port-Channel Number>| tunnel
<tunnelId> | vlan <VlanId>}]
This command has been enhanced so that it can be executed for a
specific interface, port-channel, or VLAN.
Commands Not Supported
Title Description
The following commands are not supported in the
Dell PowerConnect M8024 Series switches:
oThe duplex command in port aggregator
configuration mode.
oThe negotiation command in port
aggregator configuration mode.
oThe speed command in port aggregator
configuration mode.
oThe copper port commands:
Test copper-port tdr < port
number>
Show copper-ports tdr
These commands appear in the CLI Reference Manual but should not
have been included.

Configuring Dell PowerConnect
Title Description
Configuring an initial HTTPS password The example in the user guide is incomplete. Issuing the first command
drops the user to the 'config-crypto-cert' config mode. At this point, just
exiting back to config is not enough to allow https to get enabled. The
user must enter values for common-name and country before exiting.
This will allow https server to be enabled when issuing "ip https server" at
global config mode.

Configuring Ports
Title Description
Port Configuration page, Admin Port Speed The description of the Admin Port Speed field on the Port Configuration
page incorrectly states that “For the PowerConnect M8024, the only
available speed is 10000 Mbps.” In reality, the PowerConnect M8024 also
supports port speeds of 1000 Mbps.
Port Configuration page, Admin Advertisement The description of the Admin Advertisement field on the Port Configuration
page states that the 10000 Full value indicates that the port is advertising
a 1000 Mbps speed, which is incorrect. The 10000 Full value indicates
that the port is advertising a 10000 Mbps speed.

Known Restrictions and Limitations
Layer 2
Description User Impact
When operating at 10/100/1000 MBPS mode, there may be cases where
the XOFF state prevents the generation of TX pause frames.
This affects XE ports operating in 1 Gigabit mode;
10 Gigabit operation is not affected. The inability to
pause the link partner may result in receiving
additional frames until the discard threshold is
reached and frames will be dropped.
The show statistics ethernet {<unit>/<port-type><port>|switchport}
command displays jumbo (oversize) packets as transmit errors.
None, the jumbo packets are properly transmitted.

There are no known issues.

Web
Description User Impact
There is no summary page to verify all the rules created for both IP ACL
and MAC based ACL.
The user can see the summary in the page
Switching > Network Security > Access Control
Lists > MAC Access Control Lists > MAC ACL
Table but not the rules of the access list. The rules
summary page does not exist.
The Dell PowerConnect M8024 Series switches support the following web
browsers: Internet Explorer 6.0 and later and Firefox 2.0.
Other web browsers may display web pages
incorrectly.
CLI Command Interface
Description User Impact
The following commands are not supported in the Dell PowerConnect
M8024 Series switches:
oThe duplex command in port aggregator configuration mode.
oThe negotiation command in port aggregator configuration
mode.
oThe speed command in port aggregator configuration mode.
oThe copper port commands:

These commands appear in the console but are not
supported.
Stacking
Description User Impact
Stacking is not supported so stack-port CLI commands are not required. These stacking commands appear in the console
but are not supported:
