Dell™ PowerVault™ 725N NAS Systems With
Software RAID — Information Update
This document provides updated information about removing and installing the power
supply in your NAS system.
Removing and Installing the Power Supply
The system supports a single power supply located behind IDE hard drive 3.
To replace a failed power supply, perform the following steps.
CAUTION: See your System Information Guide for complete information about
safety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against
electrostatic discharge.
1Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the
electrical outlet.
2Unplug the power cable from the receptacle on the system’s back panel.
3Loosen the thumbscrew at the back of the system. See Figure 1-1.
4Slide the system cover backward about 2.5 cm (1 inch), grasp the cover on both sides,
and carefully lift the cover away from the system.
5Remove the plastic insert that secures the power supply inside the system. See
Figure 1-1.
6Disconnect the power-supply cable from the converter board. See Figure 1-1.
7Grasp the front of the power supply, push it toward the back of the system, and lift it
out of the chassis.
8Remove the two screws on the converter board, slide the board toward the back of the
system about 1 cm (0.5 inch), and lift it off the guide pins and out of the chassis. See
Figure 1-1.

9Install the replacement converter board:
aAlign the holes in the board with the guide pins on the bottom of the chassis,
lower the board into the system, and slide the board forward 1 cm (0.5 inch).
bReplace the two screws that you removed in step 8.
10 Install the replacement power supply by inserting the guide pins on the power supply
into the guide-pin slots on the chassis, lowering the power supply into the chassis, and
then pushing the power supply toward the front of the system. See Figure 1-1.

11 Connect the power-supply cable to the converter board.
12 Replace the plastic insert that you removed in step 5.
13 Plug the power cable into the receptacle on the system’s back panel.
14 Replace the system cover, reconnect the system and peripherals to the electrical outlet,
and turn on the system.

5卸下将电源设备固定在系统内部的塑料插件 请参见图 2-1
6从转换板中断开电源设备电缆的连接 请参见图 2-1
7握住电源设备正面并将其朝系统背面推动 然后从机箱中提出
8拧下转换板上的两颗螺钉 将该板朝系统背面滑动约 1 厘米 0.5 英寸 然后将
其从导向插销中取出并从机箱中提出 请参见图 2-1

Ce document contient des informations mises à jour concernant le retrait et l'installation
du module d'alimentation de votre système NAS.
Retrait et installation du module d'alimentation
Le système ne prend en charge qu'un module d'alimentation, situé derrière le disque dur
IDE 3.
Pour remplacer un module d'alimentation défectueux, procédez comme suit :
ATTENTION : Reportez-vous au Guide Informations sur le système pour obtenir
des informations complètes sur les précautions en matière de sécurité, les
opérations à réaliser à l'intérieur de l'ordinateur et la protection contre
l'électricité statique.
1Mettez le système hors tension, y compris les périphériques qui lui sont connectés,
puis débranchez-le du secteur.
2Débranchez le câble d'alimentation du panneau arrière du système.
3Desserrez la vis à molette à l'arrière du système. Voir la Figure 3-1.
4Faites glisser le capot d'environ 2,5 cm vers l'arrière, saisissez les deux côtés du capot et
soulevez ce dernier avec précaution.
5Ôtez le cache en plastique qui fixe le module d'alimentation au système. Voir la
Figure 3-1.
6Débranchez le câble du module d'alimentation de la carte convertisseur. Voir la
Figure 3-1.
7Saisissez la face avant du module d'alimentation, poussez-le vers l'arrière du système
puis soulevez-le hors du châssis.

8Dévissez les deux vis situées sur la carte convertisseur, faites glisser la carte d'environ
1 cm vers l'arrière et extrayez-la des broches de guidage et du châssis. Voir la
Figure 3-1.
9Installez la carte convertisseur de rechange :
aAlignez les trous de la carte avec les guides situés au fond du châssis, abaissez la
carte dans le système et faites-la avancer d'un centimètre environ.
bRemettez en place les deux vis retirées à l'étape 8.
10 Installez le module d'alimentation de rechange en insérant les guides du module dans
les connecteurs du châssis. Abaissez ensuite le module dans le châssis, puis poussez-le
vers l'avant du système. Voir la Figure 3-1.

11 Connectez le câble du module d'alimentation à la carte convertisseur.
12 Remettez en place le cache en plastique retiré à l'étape 5.
13 Branchez le câble d'alimentation dans le logement prévu à cet effet dans le panneau
arrière du système.
14 Remettez en place le capot, reliez le système et les périphériques à une source
d'alimentation électrique et mettez le système sous tension.

Dieses Dokument enthält Informationen zum Entfernen und Installieren des Netzteils von
NAS-Systemen.
Entfernen und Installieren des Netzteils
Das System verfügt über ein einzelnes Netzteil, das sich hinter IDE-Festplatte 3 befindet.
Führen Sie die folgenden Schritte durch, um ein schadhaftes Netzteil auszuwechseln.
VORSICHT: Ausführliche Informationen zu den Sicherheitsvorkehrungen beim
Arbeiten im Inneren des Computers und zum Schutz vor elektrischer Entladung
finden Sie in den Systeminformationen.
1Schalten Sie das System sowie die angeschlossenen Peripheriegeräte aus und
unterbrechen Sie die Stromzufuhr.
2Ziehen Sie das Netzkabel von der Rückseite des Systems ab.
3Lösen Sie die Flügelschraube an der Rückseite des Systems. Siehe Abbildung 4-1.
4Schieben Sie die Systemabdeckung um etwa 2,5 cm zur Rückseite hin und heben Sie
sie vorsichtig an beiden Seiten nach oben vom System ab.
5Entfernen Sie den Kunststoffeinsatz, der das Netzteil im System fixiert. Siehe
Abbildung 4-1.
6Trennen Sie das Kabel des Netzteils vom Spannungswandler. Siehe Abbildung 4-1.
7Fassen Sie das Netzteil an der Vorderseite, schieben Sie es nach hinten und heben Sie
es dann aus dem Gehäuse heraus.
8Entfernen Sie die zwei Schrauben auf der Spannungswandlerplatine, schieben Sie die
Platine um etwa 1 cm zur Rückseite des Systems hin und heben Sie sie von den
Führungsstiften aus dem Gehäuse heraus. Siehe Abbildung 4-1.

9Installieren Sie die neue Spannungswandlerplatine:
aRichten Sie die Löcher in der Platine mit den Führungsstiften an der Unterseite
des Gehäuses aus, senken Sie die Platine ab und schieben Sie sie um etwa 1 cm
zur Vorderseite des Systems hin.
bSetzen Sie die zwei in Schritt 8 entfernen Schrauben wieder ein.
10 Setzen Sie die Führungsstifte am neuen Netzteil in die Führungskerben im Gehäuse
ein, senken Sie das Netzteil in das Gehäuse ab und schieben sie es dann zur Vorder-
seite des Systems hin. Siehe Abbildung 4-1.

11 Verbinden Sie das Kabel des Netzteils mit dem Spannungswandler.
12 Setzen Sie den in Schritt 5 entfernten Kunststoffeinsatz wieder ein.
13 Verbinden Sie das Netzkabel mit dem Anschluss an der Rückseite des Systems.
14 Bringen Sie die Abdeckung wieder an, schließen Sie das System und die
Peripheriegeräte an die Stromversorgung an und schalten Sie das System ein.

電源装置の取り外しと取り付け
システムで使用される電源装置は、IDE ハードライブ 3 の背面にあります。
故障した電源装置を交換するには、次の手順を実行します。

1システムの電源を切り、システムに接続されている周辺機器の電源を切って、シ
ステムを電源コンセン から取り外します。
2電源ケーブルをシステムの背面パネルのソケッ から抜きます。
3システム背面の蝶ネジを緩めます。図 5-1 を参照します。
4システムカバーを約 2.5 cm 後ろにずらし、カバーの両脇をつかんでシステムか
ら慎重に持ち上げて、カバーを取り外します。
5システム内部の電源装置を固定するプラスチック製の締め具を取り外します。
図5-1 を参照してください。
6コンバータボードから電源ケーブルを外します。図 5-1 を参照してください。
7電源装置の前方をつかみ、システム背面の方向に押してシャーシから取り出し
ます。
8コンバータボードのネジ 2 本を外し、ボードをシステム背面の方向に約 1 cm
スライドさせてから、ガイドピンを外してボードをシャーシから取り外しま
す。図 5-1 を参照してください。

9新しいコンバータボードを取り付けます。
aボードの穴をシャーシ底面にあるガイドピンの位置にあわせてボードをシ
ステム内にはめ込み、約 1 cm 前方にスライドさせます。
b手順 8 で外した 2 本のネジを取り付けます。
10 電源装置のガイドピンをシャーシのガイドピンスロッ に差し込み、新しい電源
装置を取り付けます。電源装置をシャーシの中にはめ込むと、システム正面の方
向に押します。図 5-1 を参照してください。
