Safety Instructions
CAUTION: Use the following safety guidelines to help protect your projector from
potential damage and to ensure your own personal safety:
• The surface beneath the projector might be hot with use. Be careful in handling the
unit.
• The lamp becomes very hot with use. Do not attempt to replace the lamp after use
until the projector has been allowed to cool down for at least 30 minutes, and
follow all instructions in "Changing the Lamp."
• Do not touch the bulb or the lamp glass at any time. The bulb may explode due to
improper handling, including the touching of the bulb or the lamp glass.
• Remove lens cap before turning on projector. Failure to do so may cause the lens
cap to reach high temperatures.
• To avoid damaging the projector and lamp, allow the cooling fan to run for 2
minutes before turning off the projector.
• Do not block the ventilation slots and openings on the projector.
• Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet if the projector is not used for
a long period of time.
• Do not use the projector in an extremely hot, cold, or humid environment.
• Do not use the projector in areas susceptible to excessive dust and dirt.
• Do not use the projector near any appliance that generates a strong magnetic field.
• Do not place the projector in direct sunlight.
• Do not look into the lens while the projector is on; the bright light may hurt your
eyes.
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the projector to rain or
moisture.
• To prevent electric shock, do not open or disassemble the projector further than
what is needed for lamp replacement.
• To avoid damaging the projector, ensure that the zoom lens and elevator foot are
fully retracted before moving the projector or placing the projector in its carrying
case.
• Turn off the projector and disconnect it from the electrical outlet before cleaning it.
Use a soft cloth moistened with mild detergent to clean the display housing. Do not
use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
• To reduce the risk of fire from the intense light emitted by the lens, do not put any
object in front of or near the lens during operation.

73/23/EEC of the European Union. Such marking is indicative that this Dell system meets the
following technical standards:
• EN 55022 - "Information Technology Equipment - Radio Disturbance Characteristics -
Limits and Methods of Measurement."
• EN 55024 - "Information Technology Equipment - Immunity Characteristics - Limits
and Methods of Measurement."
• EN 61000-3-2 - "Electromagnetic Compatibility - Part 3: Limits - Section 2: Limits for
Harmonic Current Emissions (Equipment Input Current Up to and Including 16 A Per

information on the regulatory label located on the back, side, or bottom panel of the projector.
If the FCC or ICES information on the label indicates a Class A rating, the following Class A
warning applies to your projector:
RF INTERFERENCE WARNING: This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment
this product may cause radio frequency (RF) interference, in which case the user may be
required to take adequate measures.
If the FCC or ICES information on the label indicates a Class B rating, the following Class B
statement applies to your projector:
This Dell device is classified for use in a typical Class B domestic environment.
A "Declaration of Conformity" in accordance with the preceding directives and standards has

IC Notice (Canada Only)
Most Dell digital apparatus are classified by the Industry Canada (IC) Interference-Causing
Equipment Standard #3 (ICES-003) as Class B digital devices. To determine which
classification (Class A or B) applies to your Dell digital apparatus, examine all registration labels
located on the bottom, side, or the back panel of your digital apparatus. A
statement in the form of "IC Class A ICES-003" or "IC Class B ICES-003" will be located on
one of these labels. Note that Industry Canada regulations provide that changes or
modifications not expressly approved by Dell could void your authority to operate this
equipment.
EN 55022 Compliance (Czech Republic Only)
This device belongs to Class B devices as described in EN 55022, unless it is specifically stated
that it is a Class A device on the specification label. The following applies to devices in Class A
of EN 55022 (radius of protection up to 30 meters). The user of the device is obliged to take all

PRÉCAUTION : Pour votre sécurité et pour protéger votre projecteur contre
d’éventuels dommages, respectez les consignes ci-dessous :
• La surface sous le projecteur peut devenir chaude pendant l’utilisation.
Veuillez manipuler l’unité avec précaution.
• La lampe peut chauffer considérablement pendant l’utilisation. Ne tentez pas de
remplacer la lampe immédiatement après utilisation. Laisser le projecteur refroidir
pendant au moins 30 minutes et suivez toutes les instructions de la section
« Remplacement de la lampe ».
• Évitez de toucher l’ampoule ou le verre de la lampe. L’ampoule peut exploser suite
à une mauvaise manipulation, notamment en cas de contact direct avec l’ampoule
ou le verre de la lampe.
• Retirez le bouchon d’objectif avant d’allumer le projecteur. Si vous omettez cette
précaution, le bouchon d’objectif peut être soumis à des températures élevées.
• Pour éviter d’endommager le projecteur et la lampe, laissez fonctionner le
ventilateur de refroidissement pendant 2 minutes avant d’éteindre le projecteur.
• Ne bloquez pas les ouvertures de ventilation situées sur le projecteur.
• Débranchez le cordon d’alimentation de la prise électrique si le projecteur
n’est pas utilisé pendant une période prolongée.
• N’utilisez pas le projecteur dans un environnement excessivement chaud,
froid ou humide.
• Évitez d’utiliser le projecteur dans un endroit sale ou poussiéreux.
• N’utilisez pas le projecteur à proximité d’un équipement générant un champ
magnétique important.
• N’exposez pas le projecteur à la lumière directe du soleil.
• Ne regardez pas à travers l’objectif lorsque le projecteur est allumé. La lumière vive
peut endommager votre œil.
• Pour réduire le risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, n’exposez pas le projecteur
à la pluie ou à l’humidité.
• Pour éviter tout choc électrique, n’ouvrez pas ou ne démontez pas le projecteur
autrement que pour le remplacement de la lampe.
• Pour éviter d’endommager le projecteur, assurez-vous que le zoom et le pied
élévateur sont complètement rétractés avant de déplacer le projecteur ou de le
placer dans sa sacoche de transport.
• Éteignez le projecteur et débranchez-le de la prise secteur avant de le nettoyer.
Utilisez un chiffon doux légèrement imprégné de détergent doux pour nettoyer
le boîtier. N’utilisez ni détergent abrasif, ni cire, ni solvants.
• Pour réduire le risque d’incendie provoqué par la source de lumière intense émise
par l’objectif, ne placez aucun objet devant l’objectif ou à proximité de ce dernier
lorsque le projecteur fonctionne.

Réglementation de la Commission fédérale des communications
(FCC, Federal Communications Commission) (États-Unis uniquement)
PRÉCAUTION : Cet équipement a été testé et il est conforme aux limites applicables
aux périphériques numériques de Classe B, conformément au règlement de l’alinéa
15 de la FCC. Ces limites sont conçues pour fournir une protection raisonnable contre les

Le symbole indique la conformité de ce projecteur Dell aux directives de compatibilité

REMARQUE : Les exigences de la norme EN 55022 en matière d’émissions mènent
à deux classifications :
• Classe A : environnements professionnels.
• Classe B : environnements résidentiels.
Pour déterminer la classification applicable à votre projecteur, examinez les informations
ICES ou FCC indiquées sur l’étiquette de réglementation située au-dessous, sur le côté ou
sur le panneau arrière du projecteur. Si ces informations portent la mention « Classe A »,
les avertissements de classe A suivants s’appliquent à votre projecteur :
AVERTISSEMENT RELATIF AU BROUILLAGE : Ce produit est un produit de classe A.
En environnement résidentiel, il peut produire des interférences radioélectriques, auquel
cas l’utilisateur peut devoir prendre des mesures adéquates.
