CAUTION: Any installation that requires removal of the system cover is intended solely to be performed
by trained service technicians. See your Product Information Guide for complete information about safety
precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.
NOTICE: When installing or removing a processor, follow these guidelines to avoid damaging the pins in
the processor socket. Bending the pins can permanently damage the socket and system board. For complete
installation and removal procedures, see "Installing System Components" in the system Hardware Owner’s Manual.
NOTE: Ensure that the system board is installed in the chassis before installing the DIMMs or the processor.
• Note the position of the socket keys. Positioning the processor incorrectly can permanently damage
the system board or the processor when you turn the system on. See Figure 1.
• Do not use force to seat the processor. When the processor is positioned correctly, it fits easily into
the socket.
• Never press on the processor shield or the processor surface when closing the release lever.
Opening the Processor Socket Lever
When removing or installing the processor, be sure to position your finger or thumb firmly on the socket
release lever and control the lever when releasing it so that the lever does not spring up suddenly.
The lever locks down the processor with considerable force to ensure a good socket connection.
Releasing the lever without control can cause the lever to spring up suddenly and forcefully.

Applying Thermal Grease (If Required)
Thermal grease acts as a thermal conductor and fills the gaps between the heat sink and the processor.
If you do not receive a heat sink with pre-applied thermal grease with your processor kit, perform
the following procedure to apply thermal grease. See Figure 2.
CAUTION: Avoid skin contact with the thermal grease. Do not ingest the grease.
NOTICE: To avoid damaging components, keep the thermal grease away from electrical traces, pins, and leads.
NOTE: See "Installing System Components" in your Hardware Owner’s Manual for instructions on removing
and installing heat sinks and processors.
NOTE: Ensure that you take all necessary precautions to prevent the CPU socket cover from popping off
the processor.
1 Remove the heat sink and the processor.
2 Using a clean, lint-free cloth, remove the existing thermal grease from the heat sink that you removed.

3 Install the new processor.
4 Open the grease packet included with your processor kit and apply the thermal grease evenly to the top
of the processor.
NOTE: To keep thermal grease from overflowing into the processor socket, use only the amount of thermal grease
needed to complete three small spirals when you perform the following step.
5 Use the enclosed applicator to apply the grease to the processor in three small, even spirals.

6 Replace the heat sink.
The enclosed applicator is intended for one-time use only. Dispose of the applicator after you use it

PRÉCAUTION : toute procédure d'installation nécessitant le retrait du capot du système doit être effectuée
uniquement par des techniciens de maintenance qualifiés. Reportez-vous au document Product Information
Guide (Guide d'informations sur le produit) pour obtenir des informations détaillées sur les consignes de

AVIS : lors de l'installation ou du retrait du processeur, suivez les consignes ci-après pour éviter d'endommager
les broches situées à l'intérieur du support. Si vous tordez ces broches, vous risquez d'endommager définitivement
le support et la carte système. Pour obtenir les instructions complètes d'installation et de retrait, voir “Installing

REMARQUE : avant d'installer les barrettes DIMM ou le processeur, vérifiez que la carte système est installée
dans le châssis.
• Notez l'emplacement des repères sur le support. Un mauvais positionnement du processeur risquerait
d'endommager définitivement la carte système ou le processeur lorsque vous remettrez le système sous
tension. Voir la figure 1.
• Ne forcez pas lorsque vous installez le processeur. S'il est positionné correctement, il s'insère dans
le support très facilement.
• Lorsque vous refermez le levier d'éjection, n'appuyez jamais sur le cadre de protection du processeur
ni sur la surface de ce dernier.
Ouverture du levier du support de processeur
Lors du retrait ou de l'installation du processeur, vous devez placer un doigt sur le levier du support afin
de pouvoir contrôler ce levier pendant son éjection. Ce levier exerce une pression importante pour que
le processeur soit fermement maintenu dans le support. Si vous ne le maintenez pas lorsque vous
le débloquez, il risque de se redresser très brusquement.

Application d'une couche de pâte thermique (si nécessaire)
La pâte thermique fait office de conducteur et remplit les espaces entre le dissipateur de chaleur et
le processeur. Si un dissipateur de chaleur enduit de pâte thermique n'est pas fourni dans votre kit
d'installation de processeur, effectuez les opérations suivantes pour appliquer la pâte thermique.
Voir la figure 2.
PRÉCAUTION : évitez tout contact avec la pâte thermique. Cette dernière ne doit pas être ingérée.
AVIS : pour éviter d'endommager les composants, maintenez la pâte thermique à l'écart des pistes des circuits
imprimés et des broches.
REMARQUE : voir “Installing System Components” (Installation des composants du système) dans le document
Hardware Owner's Manual (Manuel du propriétaire) pour obtenir les instructions de retrait et d'installation des
dissipateurs de chaleur et des processeurs.

1 Retirez le dissipateur de chaleur et le processeur.
2 À l'aide d'un chiffon propre et non pelucheux, enlevez la pâte thermique qui recouvre le dissipateur
de chaleur que vous venez de retirer.
3 Installez le nouveau processeur.
4 Ouvrez le paquet de pâte thermique fourni avec le kit du processeur et appliquez-en une couche
régulière sur le dessus du processeur.
REMARQUE : pour éviter que la pâte thermique déborde dans le support, n'utilisez que la quantité nécessaire
pour l'appliquer en trois petites spirales, comme indiqué dans l'étape suivante.
5 Utilisez l'applicateur fourni pour étaler la pâte thermique sur le processeur en trois petites spirales
de taille et d'épaisseur régulières.

6 Réinstallez le dissipateur de chaleur.
L'applicateur ne doit être utilisé qu'une seule fois. Jetez-le après utilisation.

HINWEIS: Beachten Sie beim Ein- und Ausbauen eines Prozessors die vorliegenden Richtlinien, um Schäden an
den Kontaktstiften des Prozessorsockels zu vermeiden. Durch ein Verbiegen der Kontaktstifte können der Sockel
und die Systemplatine dauerhaft beschädigt werden. Eine vollständige Anleitung zum Ein- und Ausbau finden Sie
im Hardware-Benutzerhandbuch unter „Installieren von Systemkomponenten“.
ANMERKUNG: Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Einbau der DIMM-Module bzw. des Prozessors, dass die System-
platine im Gehäuse installiert ist.
• Achten Sie auf die Position der Passungen am Sockel. Wenn der Prozessor falsch eingesetzt wird,
kann dies beim Einschalten des Systems eine dauerhafte Beschädigung der Systemplatine oder
des Prozessors zur Folge haben. Siehe Abbildung 1.
• Wenden Sie beim Einsetzen des Prozessors keine Kraft an. Wenn der Prozessor korrekt positioniert ist,
passt er ohne Kraftaufwand in den Sockel.
• Üben Sie beim Schließen des Sicherungshebels keinesfalls Druck auf die Prozessorabdeckung oder
die Oberfläche des Prozessors aus.
Lösen des Sicherungshebels für den Prozessorsockel
Legen Sie beim Aus- oder Einbauen des Prozessors Ihren Finger oder Daumen fest auf den Sicherungs-
hebel des Prozessorsockels und achten Sie beim Lösen des Hebels darauf, dass er nicht plötzlich
hochschnellt. Der Hebel übt erhebliche Kraft auf den Prozessor aus, um eine gute Verbindung mit dem
Sockel zu gewährleisten. Wenn der Hebel ohne ausreichende Sicherung gelöst wird, kann er unvermittelt
und heftig aufspringen.

Auftragen der Wärmeleitpaste (falls erforderlich)
Wärmeleitpaste dient zur Wärmeleitung und füllt die Zwischenräume zwischen Kühlkörper und Prozessor
aus. Wenn sich auf dem Kühlkörper Ihres Prozessorsatz nicht bereits aufgetragene Wärmeleitpaste
befindet, gehen Sie wie folgt vor, um die Wärmeleitpaste aufzutragen: Siehe Abbildung 2.
VORSICHT: Achten Sie darauf, dass die Wärmeleitpaste nicht mit Ihrer Haut in Berührung kommt und nicht
in Ihren Mund gelangt.
HINWEIS: Die Wärmeleitpaste darf nicht in Kontakt mit elektrischen Leiterbahnen, Kontakten und Leitungen
kommen, da andernfalls Komponenten beschädigt werden können.
ANMERKUNG: Eine Anleitung zum Aus- und Einbau von Kühlkörpern und Prozessoren finden Sie im Hardware-
Benutzerhandbuch unter „Installieren von Systemkomponenten“.
ANMERKUNG: Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie alle erforderlichen Vorkehrungen getroffen haben, um zu verhindern,

1 Entfernen Sie den Kühlkörper und den Prozessor.
2 Entfernen Sie die vorhandene Wärmeleitpaste mit einem sauberen, fusselfreien Tuch von
dem ausgebauten Kühlkörper.
3 Installieren Sie den neuen Prozessor.
4 Öffnen Sie die mit dem Prozessor-Einbausatz ausgelieferte Packung Wärmeleitpaste und tragen
Sie die Wärmeleitpaste gleichmäßig auf die Oberseite des Prozessors auf.
ANMERKUNG: Verwenden Sie beim folgenden Schritt nur so viel Wärmeleitpaste, wie Sie für drei kleine Spiralen
benötigen, um zu vermeiden, dass überschüssige Paste in den Prozessorsockel gelangt.
5 Tragen Sie die Wärmeleitpaste mit dem beigefügten Applikator in drei kleinen, gleichmäßigen
Spiralen auf den Prozessor auf.

6 Bauen Sie den Kühlkörper wieder ein.
Der beigefügte Applikator ist zur einmaligen Verwendung gedacht. Bitte entsorgen Sie ihn,
nachdem Sie die Paste aufgetragen haben

열그리즈 바르기 (필요한 경우 )
열 그리즈는 열 반도체와 같이 작동하며 방열판과 프로세서 사이의 간격을 채웁니다 . 프로세서 키트에
미리 적용된 열 그리즈가 있는 방열판이 없을 경우 다음 절차에 따라 열 그리즈를 바르십시오 . 그림 2 를
참조하십시오 .
주의 : 열그리즈에 피부가 닿지 않도록 하십시오 . 그리즈를 섭취하지 마십시오 .

PRECAUCIÓN: las instalaciones que requieren que se extraiga la cubierta del sistema deben llevarlas a cabo
técnicos de servicio especializados. Consulte la Guía de información del producto para obtener información
completa sobre las precauciones de seguridad, la manipulación de las piezas internas del ordenador y la
protección contra descargas electrostáticas.
AVISO: cuando instale o extraiga un procesador, siga estas pautas para evitar que se dañen las patas del zócalo
del procesador. Si se doblan las patas, pueden producirse daños permanentes en el zócalo y en la placa base.
Para completar los procedimientos de instalación y extracción, consulte "Instalación de los componentes
del sistema" en el Manual del propietario del hardware.
NOTA: asegúrese de que la placa base está instalada en el chasis antes de instalar los módulos DIMM
o el procesador.
• Fíjese en la posición de los salientes del zócalo. Si se coloca el procesador de forma incorrecta,
pueden producirse daños permanentes en la placa base o en el procesador cuando se encienda
el sistema. Vea la figura 1.
• No emplee fuerza para colocar el procesador. Cuando el procesador está colocado de forma correcta,
se encaja fácilmente en el zócalo.
• No presione el protector ni la superficie del procesador al cerrar la palanca de liberación.
Apertura de la palanca del zócalo del procesador
Cuando extraiga o instale el procesador, coloque el dedo pulgar o cualquier otro dedo firmemente en la
palanca de liberación del zócalo y procure que la palanca no salga disparada repentinamente al soltarla.
La palanca mantiene sujeto el procesador con una fuerza considerable para asegurar una buena conexión
del zócalo. Si se libera la palanca sin controlarla, ésta puede salir disparada repentinamente y con fuerza.

Aplicación de pasta térmica (si es necesario)
La pasta térmica actúa como un conductor térmico y rellena los espacios entre el disipador de calor y
el procesador. Si con el kit del procesador no recibe un disipador de calor con la pasta térmica aplicada,
realice el procedimiento siguiente para aplicar la pasta térmica. Vea la figura 2.
PRECAUCIÓN: evite el contacto de la piel con la pasta térmica. No ingiera la pasta.
AVISO: para evitar daños en los componentes, mantenga la pasta térmica alejada de líneas, patas y cables
eléctricos.
NOTA: consulte "Instalación de los componentes del sistema" en el Manual del propietario del hardware
para obtener instrucciones sobre la extracción e instalación de disipadores de calor y procesadores.
NOTA: asegúrese de tomar todas las precauciones necesarias para evitar que la cubierta del zócalo de la CPU
se suelte del procesador.
1 Extraiga el disipador de calor y el procesador.
2 Con un paño limpio que no deje pelusa, retire la pasta térmica del disipador de calor que ha extraído.
