General
After use and while the hob is still warm it should be wiped with a damp cloth.
When cleaning care should be taken to avoid water leaking into the control panel as
this way cause damage to the controls.
With regular cleaning the hob will remain in good condition.
It is advisable to disconnect the electrical supply to the hob before cleaning is
undertaken.
To keep the hob looking at its best, wipe, any spills as soon as they occur. This
will prevent them burning on and becoming more difficult to remove.
Enamel Parts
In order to maintain the condition of the enamel parts, clean and wipe frequently with
hot soapy water. Any obstinate marks can be removed using a paste or cream cleaner
or a well moistened soap impregnated steel wool pad. Rub gently
so as not to damage the surface. Never use abrasive powders. Do not permit vinegar,
coffee, milk, salt water, lemon or tomato juice to remain in contact with the enamel
parts as they may stain or discolour the surface.
NOTE
Any cleaners such as spray or stick cleaners which are used on enamel must have the
VEDC (Vitreous Enamel Development Council) seal of approval and the manufacturers
instructions must be followed.
Cleaning of the Electric Plates
Any spillage should be wiped from the plates as soon as the plates are cool enough to
do so, using a damp cloth. To prevent rusting of the plates do not leave the plates
wet, but dry after cleaning.
After use, periodically apply a liberal amount of clean cooking oil to the plates with a
soft cloth to restore the appearance.
