SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1) Read this Instruction Manual before you attempt to connect or operate the appliance.
2) Keep these instructions in good condition. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions.
3) Save this Instruction Manual for future reference.
4) The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the product. Dry location use only.
5) No naked flame source, such as candles, should be placed on the product.
6) Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
7) Ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings.
8) Ensure that the unit is plugged into an AC 230V 50 Hz power outlet. Using higher
voltage may cause the unit to malfunction or even fire catching. Turn off the unit before
unplugging it from power source to completely switch it off.
9) Do not plug/ unplug the power plug into/ from an electrical outlet with wet hands.
10) If the power plug does not fit into your outlet, do not force the plug into an electrical
socket if it does not fit.
11) Only use attachments/ accessories, which are specified by the manufacturer.
12) Use replacement parts, which are specified by the manufacturer.
13) Install the unit in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
14) Place the unit where there is good ventilation. Place the system on a flat, hard and
stable surface. Do not expose to temperatures above 35°C. Allow at least 10 cm
clearance from the rear and the top of the unit and 5 cm from each side.
15) Press the player’s buttons gently. Pressing them too hard can damage the player.
16) Dispose of used batteries in an environmental-responsible manner.
17) Always ensure that the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet before moving or
cleaning. Clean it with dry cloth only.
18) Unplug the product during lightning, storms or when it will not be used for long periods
of time.
19) This product has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to repair this product
yourself. Only qualified service personnel should perform servicing. Take the product to
the electronics repair shop of your choice for inspection and repair.
20) NEVER let anyone, especially children, push anything into holes, slots or any other
openings in the unit’s casing as this could result in a fatal electric shock.
21) Don’t mount this product on a wall or ceiling.
22) Do not place the unit near TVs, speakers and other objects that generate strong
magnetic fields.
23) This unit is for indoor use only.
24) Do not leave the unit unattended when it is in use.
25) Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as the sunshine, fire or the like.
26) The mains plug is used as disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily
operable
NOTE: when the system is switched to standby mode, it is still consuming some power.
To disconnect the system completely, remove the AC power plug from the wall outlet.

PREPARATION FOR USE
•Carefully remove all the components from the packaging and verify that you have all the necessary
components.
•Remove all packing materials from the individual components. Remove any descriptive labels that may
be attached to the front panel of the main unit. Do not remove any labels or stickers on the back panels
of the main unit.
•Place all the components in the desired location. This system is designed to be used on level, stable, flat
surface such as a table, desk, shelf, or stand, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess
heat, dust, moisture, or vibration.

Remote Control
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
Remote Control Battery
The remote control requires one "CR2025 type" 3-volt lithium battery, included. To extend the life of the
original battery we have inserted a small clear plastic spacer tab between the lithium battery and the
battery terminal. You must remove this battery spacer tab before you
can use the remote control. To remove the tab, pull the tab out of
the battery compartment as shown.

When the operation of the remote control becomes intermittent or unsatisfactory, replace the original
battery with a new 3-volt lithium battery.
1. Slide out the battery holder from the remote control case.
2. Place one 3V CR2025 battery in the battery holder with the print face up. If the battery is placed
incorrectly the remote control will not work.
3. Insert the battery holder into the battery slot.
BACK UP FUNCTION
If the AC supply is interrupted, the clock display and radio preset stations will be
lost and all settings will be cancelled. To back up the clock and preset stations,
insert two AAA size batteries (not supplied) observing the polarity marking in the
battery compartment on the rear of the unit. The back up battery will NOT backup
iPod settings.
Caution:
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Caution:
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of batteries according to the instructions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
•Make sure the supplied adapter is properly connected to a 100-240V 50/60Hz household AC
power outlet.
•Make sure that the minimum distance around the whole unit for sufficient ventilation is 10cm.
SETTING THE CLOCK AND DATE
When the system is connected to the AC outlet for the first time, time ‘0:00’
& Date ‘1- 01’ will show on the display.

1.In the Standby mode, press on the top panel or MODE on the remote
until the unit enters the clock set mode. ‘24H’ will flash on the display
indicating that the clock is set for 24-hour cycle.
2.Press or on the top panel or the remote once to change the clock
format to 12-hour cycle. The display will change from ‘24H’ to ‘12H’.
3.Press or MODE to confirm. The hour digits ‘12’ will flash. Repeatedly
press or to set the hour. Press or MODE to confirm.
4.When the hour is confirmed, the minute digits ‘00’ will flash. Repeatedly
press or to set the minute. Press or MODE to confirm.
5.When the clock time is set, the year digits will flash. Repeatedly press
or to set the year. Press or MODE to confirm.
6.‘1’ in the Date box will flash for the month setting. Repeatedly press
or to set the month. Press or MODE to confirm.
7.01’ in the Date box will flash for the day setting. Repeatedly press or
to set the day. Press or MODE to confirm.
SETTING THE ALARM 1 AND 2
You can only set your Alarm mode in the Standby mode.
Setting Alarm 1
1. In the Standby mode, press and hold on the top panel until the hour
digit ‘0’ flashes on the display. Repeatedly press or to set the
hour. Press to confirm.
2. Minute digits ‘00’ will flash. Repeatedly press or to set the minute.
Press to confirm.
3. The wake up mode display will flash, and then press or repeatedly to select the desired wake
up mode.
 Wake up to ‘FM Broadcasting’ - You have to pre-tune your desired
radio channel in FM radio mode before setting the wake up function.

 Wake up to iPod playback.
 Wake up to Buzzer.
4. Press to confirm.
5. The alarm can be enabled and disabled by pressing on the unit or repeatedly pressing on the
remote.
•will display when alarm 1 is enabled.
Set Alarm 2
Press and hold on the top panel until the hour digit ‘0’ flashes on the
display and repeat above steps 1 to 3 in Set Alarm 1 to set ALARM 2. Press
to confirm.
The alarm can be enabled and disabled by pressing on the unit or repeatedly pressing on the
remote. will display when alarm 2 is enabled.
Snooze Function
After alarm is ON, you can press SNOOZE on the top panel or the remote to temporarily deactivate the
alarm which will activate again after approx. 9 minutes. The ALARM icon will flash in the display when
snooze function is enabled.
Sleep Function
1. In the Power on mode, press on the top panel or the remote, “120” and “Sleep” will show
on the display.
2. Press repeatedly to select from 120, 90, 60, 30, 20, 10 or 5 (minutes).
3. The unit will turn off automatically after the selected time.
4. To cancel sleep, press and hold on the top panel or on the remote or repeatedly press
SLEEP until “Sleep” disappears on the display. When SLEEP is enabled, you can use the sleep
button on the remote to alter or turn off the sleep time.
LISTENING TO FM RADIO
Note: Extend the FM antenna to its full length. It may be necessary to adjust the direction of this wire
antenna until you find the best position for reception for your favorite FM stations.
1. Press on the top panel or on the remote repeatedly until you select the FM function.
2. The FM frequency will show on the display, indicating the unit
is in FM Radio mode.

3. Tune to the desired frequency as follows:
Automatic Tuning
Press and hold or until auto tuning starts. The tuner will search the FM band until it finds a
station, it will then play station. Repeat this procedure until the tuner stops on your desired
station.
Manual Tuning
Repeatedly press or until the frequency of the desired station appears on the display.
4. Preset FM stations in the tuner memory
This unit includes a 10 stations preset memory. You can store up to 10 FM stations in the tuner
memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows:
1) Follow step 3 to select the first station you wish to store, the FM frequency will show on the
display. For example: 106.2 MHz.
2) Press MODE, “P” will flash on the display.
3) Press MEMORY + / - to select the preset program.
4) Press MODE to confirm.
5) Repeat step 2) to 4) until you have memorised up to 10 stations. Press MEMORY +/-
to listen to the preset FM channel CH01-CH10 at FM mode.
Note: The saved preset stations will be lost if the AC Power is interrupted and the backup batteries are
not inserted.
USING YOUR IPod/iPhone
Docking Your iPod/iPhone
The unit comes with 6 removable adaptors to ensure the iPod/iPhone fits properly in the dock.
1. Refer to the compatibility table below to select a suitable adapter for your iPod and insert it into the
iPod socket of the unit.
2. Gently insert your iPod into the adaptor.
3. To remove or replace an adapter, remove the iPodandthen gently pull the adaptor upward from the
unit.
Listening to iPod/iPhone
IMPORTANT!

In order to prevent unwanted distortion during iPod playback, it is recommended that you set the EQ in
your iPod to the Off position. Go to the Main Menu in your iPod/iPhone and then select the Settings
Menu, select the EQ Setting, and make sure that the EQ function is set to Off. (Main Menu > Settings
Menu > EQ Setting > Select Off)
Note: We have also included one flat adaptor with no opening at all. This serves
as a dust cover that can be inserted in the docking station if no iPod will be
connected to this unit for an extended period of time. Remove this dust cover
before use.
1. Gently push your iPod into the iPodsocket.
2. Press on the top panel or on the remote repeatedly until
you select the iPod function.
3. "iPod" will show on the display, indicating the unit is in iPod mode.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE on the top panel or on the remote or your iPodto toggle between the play
and pause function.
5. Press or repeatedly to select the previous or next song.
6. Press or on the left and right of the iPod dock or VOLUME +/- on the remote to adjust the
sound level as desired.
Note: The volume control on your iPod will not function whilst docked.
Control iPod Menu by Remote Control Only
Press MODE on the remote control, the iPod will go to the previous menu. Press or on the remote
control to select the next / previous iPod menu item; then press ENTER to enter the selected menu.
Settings are changed in the same way once the menu item has been highlighted.
For iPhone and iPod touch, the remote control will only work as the above described when in iPod Player
mode. The remote control of menu navigation will NOT work in home screen mode or any other Apps.
iPod Charging
When an iPod is connected to the unit, the iPod will charge automatically in Standby Mode, iPod Mode,
FM Mode or AUX Mode.
USING YOUR IPHONE
Gently insert your iPhone into the docking station. The music in the iPhone will play automatically. When the
airplane mode is turned off, music will not be muted if there is an incoming phone call.
To avoid interrupting your music, you can turn on the airplane mode so your listening pleasure will not be
spoilt by the sound of an incoming call.
AUXILIARY IN

Connect the Audio Output jacks of your auxiliary sound source (TV, VCR, DVD Player, Cassette Deck,
Mini Disc player, etc.) to the AUX IN jack on the back panel of the unit. The auxiliary function will only
function when the aux in jack has a suitable sound source applied via a suitable connection cable.
Note: The connection cables are not included.
1. Press on the top panel or on the remote repeatedly until
‘AUX’ shows on the display, indicating the unit is in AUX mode.
Connect an audio lead between the output jacks on the Auxiliary
sound source to the AUX IN jack on the back panel of the unit.
2. Turn your auxiliary source 'On' and operate it as usual. The sound from the auxiliary source will be
heard through the speakers of this unit.
3. Adjust the VOLUME level controls of this unit as desired.
DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS CONTROL
In the Standby mode, press any button on top panel or remote control to brighten the display for a few
seconds to enable viewing of the time in a darkened room.
In the Power on mode, press SNOOZE to dim or brighten the display.
RESETTING
If the system does not function correctly, you may have experienced an electrostatic discharge or a power
surge that caused the internal computer to lock up (crash). If this occurs, simply disconnect the main
power at the wall socket and reconnect the main power again after one minute.
Note: Although disconnecting the power will unlock the internal computer after a power surge, it will also
erase all of the settings. After turning on the unit, you will need to reset the settings again.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CARE OF THE CABINET
If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax, polish sprays, or
abrasive cleaners on the cabinet.
CAUTION: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.

If you have any of the problems listed below please use this troubleshooting guide to try and solve them.
A little time spent in this way may save you to the inconvenience of returning your equipment.

PROBLEMS POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Power
System does not turn on, or does not
respond to the remote control.  Make sure the adapter plug is secure in the wall outlet and
it has power.
 Remove batteries, pull the adapter plug out for 5 minutes
then
re-connect and try again. Try on batteries and adapter. If this
does not work, leave the unit unplugged before seeking
advice.
iPod
won’t play iPod Files or will not
function as expected  Make sure FUNCTION is set to iPod mode.
 Make sure the iPod is connected correctly.
 Make sure the correct cradle for your iPod is fitted to the
unit.
 Pause mode is activated; press the play-pause button
again.
 Make sure the iPod is switched on.
 Vibration can cause the iPod to come loose from the
docking station.
RADIO
Poor FM reception  Make sure the FM antenna is extended.
 Move the unit away from other operating electrical
equipment such as motorised appliances, transformers,
televisions and microwave ovens.
 Please be aware the structure of some buildings blocks
radio waves.
REMOTE
No function or short range.  Insert new battery.
 Aim straight in front of the remote sensor.

iPod model to the docking station, 6 different adaptors
is included. Please refer to the following table to
select the proper adaptors for your particlur iPod model.

below. This symbol signifies that electric and electronic equipment and batteries should not be disposed
of with other household waste, but should be disposed of separately.
As the end user it is important that you submit your used batteries to the approriate and designated
facility. In this manner you make sure that the batteries are recycled in accordance with legislature and
will not harm the environment.
All cities have established collection points, where electric and electronic equipment and batteries can
either be submitted free of charge at recycling stations and other collection sites, or be collected from the
households. Additional information is available at the technical department of your city.
