This product is intended to charge the following
Desoutter battery packs only:

ON RECEIVING THE CHARGER
• Check the following items are included in the
box:
- Charger 18/36V
- User manual
- Power cable
• Check that the mains voltage and frequency
match the voltage/frequency mentioned on the
type plate of the charger.
The battery charger and the mains plug
are delivered in separate boxes. Please
ensure you have well received these
boxes and check the contents.
WARNING / IMPORTANT
All locally legislated safety rules regarding
installation, operation and maintenance
shall be respected at all times.
• Read these operating instructions before using
the charger.
• Check charger, main cable and battery pack
for damages before every use. Do not use
damaged devices and get the damaged parts
repaired only by experts. Check extension
wires regularly and replace them if damaged.
• Do not use the charger if dirty or wet.
• The main voltage must match the voltage
mentioned on the type plate of the charger.
• Do not operate the charger in explosive
environment.
• Do not carry the charger by holding the main
cable.
• Protect the main cable against heat, sharp
edges, oil and moving parts of the machine.
• Only use extension cables outdoors which
have been approved for this purpose.
• Avoid using extension wires with multiple
sockets and simultaneous operation of multiple
devices.
• For connection to a supply not in the U.S.A.,
use an attachment plug adapter of the proper
conguration for the power outlet, if needed.
• Use with a power supply cord, Type SPT-
2, 18 AWG, rated minimum 105°C, 300 V,
provided with a molded-on non-grounding type
attachment plug with a 15 A, 125 V (NEMA
1-15P, polarized) or 15 A, 250 V (NEMA 2-15P)
conguration and a molded-on connector,
which mated with the Power Appliance Inlet,
minimum 1.8 m, maximum 3 m in length.
• Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling
the main cable.
• Do not cover the charger and keep the air
vents of the charger open.
• No metal parts should come in contact with
battery holders; risk of short circuit.
• Do not open the charger. Get repairs done only
by authorised experts.
• Use the charger only to charge Desoutter Li-
Ion batteries.

• Move only clean and dry battery packs on to
the battery holder of the charger.
• Do not charge non rechargeable battery
(primary cells); risk of explosion.
• Do not charge damaged battery packs.
Replace damaged battery packs.
• Do not store battery packs along with metal
objects; risk of short circuit.
• Do not dispose off battery packs by throwing
them into re or through household waste.
• Avoid contact with uids oozing out of defective
battery packs. Rinse with water in case of
accidental contact with uid. Consult a doctor if
uid comes into contact with eyes.
EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS
• Read the instruction manual before
starting work or before operating
equipment or machinery.
• Protect the charger against moisture
and store it dry.
The device is suitable for indoor use
only.
• Do not expose the device to rain.
●Ensure that the marked item or its
material is part of a recovery or
recycling process.
According to Directive 2012/19/
CE concerning Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE), this
product must be recycled.
• Contact your "Customer Centre" or
consult the website "www.desoutter-
tools.com" to nd out where you can
recycle this product.
