GENERAL DANGERS & WARNINGS
In order to ensure the safe installation, assembly, and operation of the personal oxygen station, these instructions MUST be followed:
DANGER
1. Electric Shock Hazard. Do not disassemble. The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station contains no user serviceable parts. If service is required, contact your
DeVilbiss provider or authorized service center.
2. Fire Hazard. Do not lubricate. Do not allow grease or oil from your hands or other source to come into contact with the regulator or cylinder valve connection. These
contaminants may be ammable and cause injury.
3. The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station should be at least 6 inches (15 cm) from walls, draperies, or any other object that might prevent the proper ow of air in
and out of your oxygen station. The oxygen station should be located so as to avoid pollutants or fumes.
4. Fire Hazard. Oxygen causes rapid burning. Do not smoke while your personal oxygen station is operating, or when you are near a person utilizing oxygen therapy.
Keep the oxygen station at least 5 feet (1.6 m) from hot, sparking objects or naked sources of ame.
5. Fire Hazard. Do not lay the cannula down while the cylinder is delivering oxygen. High concentrations of oxygen can cause rapid burning.
6. Tip Over Hazard. Do push, lean or rest upon the device, it may tip over causing injury.
WARNING
1. Do not install, assemble, or operate this equipment without rst reading and understanding this instruction manual and the oxygen cylinder warning label. If you are
unable to understand the warnings, cautions and instructions, contact your provider or technical personnel if applicable before attempting to install or use this
equipment - otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
2. The use of this device is limited to an oxygen patient. Cylinders MUST be used ONLY by an oxygen patient and are not to be distributed to any other individual for any
purpose.
3. NEVER block the air openings of the product or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air opening may be blocked. Keep the openings free
from lint, hair and the like, this may block airow through the unit and cause overheating or malfunction.
4. Avoid placing the oxygen station next to heaters, radiators, or hot air registers. It should be kept at least 5 feet (1.6m) away from hot, sparking objects or naked
sources of ame.
5. Do not use in a closet.
6. Do not use in an area where the air may be contaminated with carbon monoxide as this may shorten the life of the unit (i.e. near running gasoline engines, furnace, or
heater).
7. If any leakage of the oxygen cylinder is detected, do not attempt to use the cylinder. Turn the rotary selector on the regulator to “OFF” and close the cylinder valve. If
leakage persists, place the cylinder outdoors and notify your Home Health Care Provider or Service Representative of this condition.
8. The personal oxygen station is equipped with a High Pressure Relief Valve to ensure the user’s safety. When activated, this safety feature will make an extremely loud
noise. If this noise occurs, turn the unit off and contact your Home Health Care Provider or Service Representative.
9. The device is not a life support device and may stop operating with certain device faults or with a power failure. You should have a back-up source of oxygen available.
10. There is a risk of re associated with oxygen enrichment during oxygen therapy. Do not use the iFill cylinder lling station or accessories near sparks or open ames.
11. Do not lubricate ttings, connections, tubing, or other accessories of the iFill cylinder lling station to avoid the risk of re and burns.
12. Use only spare parts recommended by the manufacturer to ensure proper function and to avoid the risk of re and burns.
13. ONLY use cylinders that have the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station ll connection. All cylinders must be inspected before attempting to ll - otherwise, injury or
damage may occur.
14. Use of this device at an altitude greater than 2000 meters (6500 ft) altitude or outside a temperature of +5°C to +35°C (+41°F to +95°F) or a relative humidity above
90% relative humidity, non-condensing, is expected to adversely affect the percentage of oxygen and consequently the quality of the therapy.
15. Smoking during oxygen therapy is dangerous and is likely to result in facial burns or death. Do not allow smoking within the same room where the iFill cylinder lling
station or any oxygen cylinders are located.
16. If you intend to smoke, you must always turn the iFill cylinder lling station off and leave the room where the iFill cylinder lling station is located. If unable to leave the
room, you must wait 10 minutes after you have turned the iFill cylinder lling station off before smoking.
17. Open ames during oxygen therapy are dangerous and are likely to result in re or death. Do not allow open ames within 5 feet (1.6m) of the iFill cylinder lling
station or any oxygen cylinders.
18. Do not modify any connections on the personal oxygen station. Never lubricate the connections. Never use tools of any kind to connect/disconnect the oxygen cylinder
and the oxygen station. Otherwise, severe injury and/or damage may occur.
19. Before moving or repositioning the personal oxygen station, always disconnect the AC power cord. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit or personal injury.
20. Do not drop oxygen cylinders. Use two (2) hands when handling/transporting oxygen cylinders. Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
21. Children should always be supervised around the personal oxygen station. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit or personal injury.
22. For your safety, the oxygen cylinder must be used according to the prescription determined by your physician.
23. Under certain circumstances, oxygen therapy can be hazardous. Seeking medical advice before using oxygen is advisable.

WARNING
1. Electric Shock Hazard: Unplug the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station when cleaning. To avoid electric shock hazard, do not remove the cabinet. The cabinet
should only be removed by a qualied homecare technician.
2. Electric Shock Hazard: Do not plug in or use product if cabinet is broken.
3. Electric Shock Hazard: Do not use a damaged line cord.
4. Auditory alarm signal sound pressure levels that are less than ambient levels can impede operator recognition of alarm conditions.
5. The surface temperature of the exhaust vents on the bottom of the unit may exceed 105.8°F (41°C) under certain conditions.
6. When the device is used under extreme operating conditions, the temperature near the exhaust vents on the bottom of the unit may reach 131°F (55°C). Keep body
parts a minimum of 32” (81.2 cm) away from this area.
WARNING
MR Unsafe
1. Do not bring the device or accessories into a Magnetic Resonance (MR) environment as it may cause unacceptable risk to the patient or damage to the DeVilbiss iFill
Personal Oxygen Station or MR medical devices. The device and accessories have not been evaluated for safety in an MR environment.
2. Do not use the device or accessories in an environment with electromagnetic equipment such as CT scanners, Diathermy, RFID and electromagnetic security systems
(metal detectors) as it may cause unacceptable risk to the patient or damage to the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station. Some electromagnetic sources may not be
apparent, if you notice any unexplained changes in the performance of this device, if it is making unusual or harsh sounds, disconnect the power cord and discontinue
use. Contact your home care provider.
3. This device is suitable for use in home and healthcare environments except for near active HF SURGICAL EQUIPMENT and the RF shielded room of an ME SYSTEM
for magnetic resonance imaging, where the intensity of Electromagnetic DISTURBANCES is high.
4. Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this
equipment and the other equipment should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.
5. Use of accessories and cables other than those specied or provided by the manufacturer of this equipment could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or
decreased electromagnetic immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.
6. Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any
part of the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station, including cables specied by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment could
result.
WARNING - HANDLING WARNINGS
1. Use extreme care when handling and lling an oxygen cylinder. Full oxygen cylinders are under pressure and can become a projectile if dropped or mishandled.
2. NEVER transport the iFill Personal Oxygen Station with a cylinder connected to or stored on it, otherwise injury or damage can occur.
CAUTION
1. Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on order of a physician.
2. Do not operate the personal oxygen station without the lters installed.
3. No lubricants other than those recommended by the manufacturer are to be used.
CAUTION
1. Do not place this unit near other equipment or devices that create or attract electromagnetic elds. Placing the unit in electromagnetic elds greater than 10V/m can
affect its operation. Examples of such equipment are debrillators, diathermy equipment, cellular telephones, CB radios, radio-controlled toys, microwave ovens, etc.
2. When transporting the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station, be careful not to bump the unit or the connectors into obstacles. Otherwise damage to the oxygen
station may occur.
NOTE – Do not connect the device to an electrical outlet controlled by a wall switch.
NOTE – The plug on the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station has one blade wider than the other. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t in a wall
outlet only one way. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
NOTE – DeVilbiss recommends leaving a full cylinder of oxygen with the patient AFTER setting up the personal oxygen station.

Provider Checklist
Before leaving a DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station with a user, the following checklist MUST be completed:
1. Check all parts for shipping damage. In case of damage, do not use. Contact DeVilbiss for further instructions.
2. Make sure the hydrostatic test on the oxygen cylinder has not expired.
3. Instruct the user on the safe operation of the personal oxygen station and review ALL warnings.
4. Leave a copy of this instruction guide with the user.
NOTE – DeVilbiss recommends leaving a full cylinder of oxygen with the patient AFTER setting up the personal oxygen station, and instructing the patient to always keep a
lled cylinder on hand.
INTRODUCTION
This instruction guide will acquaint you with the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station. Make sure that you read and understand this guide before operating your oxygen station.
Important safeguards are indicated throughout this guide; pay special attention to all safety information. Contact your DeVilbiss equipment provider should you have any questions.
NOTE – All references to cylinder throughout the guide represent an oxygen cylinder.
Intended Use
The Model 535D Oxygen Cylinder Filling System is intended for use in supplying pressurized oxygen to ll oxygen cylinders for patients’ ambulatory use. The device is
intended to provide 93% (±3%) oxygen. This device can be used in homes, nursing homes, patient care facilities, etc.
Medical Application
The Model 535 Series DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station product provides for in-home patient lling of Oxygen Cylinders. The intended market for the product is the
Homecare and Institutional markets for those dealers/institutions offering ambulatory Oxygen Therapy devices. The Model 535 Series DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station
does not provide oxygen directly to a patient, it is used to only ll oxygen cylinders.
Product Description
The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station uses a dual-pressure head compressor to simultaneously power a pressure swing adsorption oxygen generation system and a
pneumatic pressure intensier. It is designed to provide supplemental oxygen to ll portable cylinders for ambulatory use.
Oxygen cylinders are attached to the iFill unit with a coupler and cylinder nipple set. The application-specic coupler helps to ensure that other cylinders cannot inadvertently
be connected to the iFill system.
The iFill station is designed to ll various sizes of portable oxygen cylinders. Cylinders are available with an integrated oxygen conserving device, continuous ow regulator, or
870 post valve mounted on top.
An onboard Oxygen Sensing Device (DeVilbiss OSD®) monitors the oxygen concentration level to ensure that it remains within specication (93% ± 3%).

NOTE – Before operating the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station for the rst time, locate the device where desired.
Choosing A Location
WARNING

Transporting The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station
WARNING
NEVER transport the Personal Oxygen Station with a cylinder connected to or stored on it, otherwise injury or damage can occur.
CAUTION
When transporting the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station, be careful not to bump the unit or the connectors into obstacles. Otherwise damage to the oxygen station
may occur.
There are three (3) methods to safely transport the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station (Figure 1):
1. Pull or push the unit on its casters using the front handle. Travel in a line oriented front to back to avoid tipping. Stop
the unit to change direction.
2. Carry the unit using the front and rear handles simultaneously.
3. Carry the unit using the front handle and the recess located under the rear of the base.
DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station Operation Checklist
NOTE – Each time the Oxygen Station is used to ll a cylinder, complete the following steps:
1. Check the Hydrostatic Test Date Figure D6 - Aluminum cylinders must undergo testing every ve (5) years. Contact
your homecare provider or the cylinder manufacturer for details.
NOTE – Do not ll oxygen cylinders that have not been tested in the past ve (5) years. Contact your DeVilbiss provider
for replacement.
2. Perform the prell inspection on the cylinder by following iFill Oxygen Cylinder External Examination below.
WARNING
ONLY use cylinders that have the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station ll connection. All cylinders must be inspected before attempting to ll - otherwise injury or damage
may occur.

iFill Oxygen Cylinder External Examination
1. Examine the outside of the cylinder for the following conditions, and replace the cylinder if they exist:
a. Dents or dings
b. Arc Burns
c. Oil or Grease
d. Any other signs of damage that might cause a cylinder to be unacceptable or unsafe for use.
2. Examine the cylinder for evidence of re or thermal damage. Evidence includes charring or blistering of the paint, or other protective coating or heat sensitive indicator. If
re or thermal damage is found, replace the cylinder.
3. Inspect the oxygen ll connector for the following:
a. Debris, oil or grease
b. Noticeable signs of damage
c. Signs of corrosion inside the valve
d. Signs of excessive heat or re damage
Do not use oxygen cylinder if found, call your homecare provider.
OPERATION
Connecting The iFill Oxygen Cylinder To The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station
DANGER
Fire Hazard. Do not lubricate. Do not allow grease or oil from your hands or other source to come into contact with the regulator or cylinder valve connection. These
contaminants may be ammable and cause injury.
WARNING
1. Do not modify ANY connections on the personal oxygen station. Never lubricate the connections. NEVER use tools of any kind to connect/disconnect the cylinder and
the oxygen station. Severe injury and/or damage may occur.
2. Do not drop oxygen cylinders. Use two (2) hands when handling/transporting oxygen cylinders. Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
3. Electric Shock Hazard: Do not use a damaged line cord.
NOTE – Refer to the General Dangers & Warnings and the Handling Warnings in this manual.
1. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
2. Set the rotary selector on the cylinder regulator to “OFF.” On 535-870 Series cylinders, close the post valve.
3. Remove the oxygen ll connector cover from the ll connector. NOTE – On 535-870 cylinders, it may be necessary
to remove your regulator or conserving device to attach the cylinder to the iFill Station.
4. Position the cylinder over the cradle while aligning the nipple connector on the oxygen cylinder with the ll connector.
Press until cylinder “Clicks” into place (Figure 2). NOTE – When using the smaller M4 or M6 size cylinders, it is
necessary to place the oxygen ll connector cover/cylinder adapter in the cradle to help support the cylinder. When
using the larger ML6, C, D, or E cylinders, the oxygen ll connector cover/cylinder adapter is not necessary and can be
allowed to hang over the side.
Filling The iFill Oxygen Cylinder
NOTE – Do not use cylinder while lling.
NOTE – Refer to the General Dangers & Warnings and the Handling Warnings in this manual.
1. Make sure the personal oxygen station is plugged in.
2. Make sure the cylinder is securely connected to the oxygen station. Refer to Connecting The iFill Oxygen Cylinder To
The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station.
3. Push the start/stop button on the control panel (Figure 3).
4. The following sequence of events should occur:
a. The FILLING (green) light will illuminate while the cylinder is lling (refer to iFill Oxygen Cylinder Fill Times).
b. The FULL (green) light will illuminate when the cylinder is full. Proceed to Removing the iFill Oxygen Cylinder.
NOTE – If the Service (RED) light and audible alert are on, proceed to Trouble shooting in this instruction manual.

Removing The iFill Oxygen Cylinder
WARNING
1. Do not modify any connections on the personal oxygen station. Never lubricate the connections. Never use tools of any kind to connect/disconnect the oxygen cylinder
and the oxygen station. Otherwise, severe injury and/or damage may occur.
2. Use extreme care when handling and lling an oxygen cylinder. Full oxygen cylin ders are under pressure and can become a projectile if dropped or mishandled.
NOTE – Refer to the General Dangers & Warnings and the Handling Warnings in this manual.
1. Remove the full oxygen cylinder by pushing down on the ll port collar located under the cylinder nipple connector
while using your other hand to steady the cylinder (Figure 4).
2. Lift up on the cylinder to remove from the oxygen ll connector. The green Standby light will turn on after a short delay.
3. Oxygen will escape from the ll connector for a short time after the cylinder has been removed. This may be
accompanied by a “pop” with a rush of air. This is normal.
4. Perform one (1) of the following steps:
a. If desired, ll another oxygen cylinder. Refer to the DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station Operation Checklist.
b. Place the oxygen ll connector cover onto the ll connector.
NOTE – The oxygen ll connector cover should always be used whenever cylinders are not being lled.
Setting The iFill Oxygen Cylinder The Prescribed Setting
1. On 535-870 cylinders, attach a regulator or conserving device to the 870 post and open the 870 cylinder post valve.
2. Attach the nasal cannula to the cannula tting of the oxygen regulator or oxygen conserving device.
3. Attach the cannula to your nose/face.
4. Turn the rotary selector to the setting prescribed by your physician.
5. Breathe normally.
WARNING
Changing the setting on the rotary selector will affect the dose of oxygen delivered, DO NOT readjust the setting unless directed by your physician.
6. To turn the ow of oxygen off, turn the rotary selector counterclockwise to the “OFF” position. On 535-870 cylinders, close the 870 post valve.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The following troubleshooting chart will help you analyze and correct minor system malfunctions. If the suggested procedures do not help, call your DeVilbiss homecare
provider. Do not attempt any other maintenance.
WARNING
To avoid electric shock hazard, do not remove the cabinet. The cabinet should only be removed by a qualied DeVilbiss homecare technician.
DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station
Problem Solution
No indicator lights on. 1. Check that the personal oxygen station power cord is properly plugged into the wall outlet. Ensure the circuit breaker near
the power cord entry is pressed in. If there are still no indicator lights, contact your DeVilbiss provider.
Red light on. 1. Ensure the iFill oxygen cylinder is connected correctly.
2. Press the start/stop button. If the Red light remains on, contact your DeVilbiss provider for service.
3. If the Red light turns on during the lling process, check that the cylinder is connected properly. Remove the cylinder and
reinstall. Ensure the cylinder rotary selector is in the OFF position. Press the start/stop button to turn off the Red light and
then again to restart the cylinder lling process. If the Red light turns on again during the lling process, contact your
DeVilbiss provider for service.
Excessive fill times OR Green filling
light stays on.
1. Ensure the rotary selector on your regulator or conserving device is set to OFF.
2. Ensure the post valve is closed in 870 series cylinders.
3. Check the ll times shown in Typical Oxygen Cylinder Fill Times chart.
4. Check that the cylinder is connected properly: Press the start/stop button to return to Standby. Remove the cylinder and
reinstall. Press the start/stop button to begin lling the cylinder.
5. If problem persists, contact your DeVilbiss provider for service.
Fuse Replacement (models with fused AC inlet connector)
1. Disconnect AC power cord from AC inlet connector.
2. With a small screwdriver, gently open the fuse drawer on the AC inlet connector.
3. Remove the bad fuse from the exposed end of the fuse drawer, discard the bad
fuse.
4. Remove the replacement fuse from the fuse drawer and slide it into the exposed
end of the fuse drawer where the bad fuse was removed.
5. Insert the fuse drawer into the AC inlet connector until it is fully seated and ush
with the AC inlet connector housing.

iFill Oxygen Cylinder/Regulator
Problem Solution
Hissing sound from iFill oxygen cylinder 1. Turn rotary selector OFF. Close the cylinder valve if using 870 series.
2. If hissing sound continues, call your DeVilbiss provider.
iFill oxygen cylinder valve is open and rotary
selector is at prescribed flow rate, but oxygen

1. Check oxygen contents gauge. Rell cylinder if the gauge shows empty.
2. Check that cannula tubing is straight and not pinched. If damaged, replace.

TYPICAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. Why does my iFill make a “pop” sound when I remove the cylinder?
A. The “pop” sound is pressure being released from the system to make the next cylinder easier to install.
Q. Why is the coupler only to be cleaned with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth and only when necessary?
A. Cleaning solutions may be ammable and/or may contaminate the cylinder.
Q. Why can’t I use my old cylinders with the iFill?
A. The iFill has a proprietary connection as required by the FDA and, therefore, other cylinders are not compatible.

DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station Filter
CAUTION
1. Do not operate the personal oxygen station without the lters installed.
2. No lubricants other than those recommended by the manufacturer are to be used.
NOTE – The DeVilbiss iFill Personal Oxygen Station has two (2) lters, one on each side of the cabinet (FIGURE A).
NOTE – Perform this procedure at least ONCE A WEEK.
1. Unplug the personal oxygen station from the wall outlet.
2. Remove the lters.
3. Clean the lters with a vacuum cleaner or wash in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
4. Dry the lters thoroughly before reinstallation.

Peligros y advertencias generales
Para asegurar una instalación, ensamblado y funcionamiento seguro de la estación de oxígeno personal, DEBE seguir estas instrucciones:
PELIGRO
1. Riesgo de choque eléctrico. No lo desarme. La estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss no contiene piezas a las cuales el usuario pueda dar servicio. Si requiere

9. El dispositivo no es un equipo de soporte vital y puede dejar de funcionar si se producen determinadas fallas en el dispositivo o en el suministro de corriente eléctrica. Debería
tener disponible una fuente de oxígeno de reserva.
10. Existe un riesgo de incendio asociado con el enriquecimiento de oxígeno durante la terapia de oxígeno. No utilice la estación de llenado de cilindros iFill ni los accesorios cerca
de chispas o fuego directo.

relativa superior al 90 % de humedad relativa, sin condensación, afecte negativamente al porcentaje de oxígeno y, por consiguiente, a la calidad de la terapia.
15. Fumar durante la oxigenoterapia es peligroso y posiblemente produzca quemaduras en el rostro e incluso provoque la muerte. No permita que se fume dentro de la misma
habitación donde se encuentra la estación de llenado de cilindros iFill o cualquier otro cilindro de oxígeno.
16. Si tiene la intención de fumar, siempre debe apagar la estación de llenado de cilindros iFill y salir de la habitación donde esta se encuentra. Si no puede abandonar la
habitación, debe esperar 10 minutos después de que se haya apagado la estación de llenado de cilindros iFill antes de comenzar a fumar.
17. El fuego directo durante la oxigenoterapia es peligroso y posiblemente produzca un incendio e incluso provoque la muerte. No permita fuego directo dentro de 1,6 m (5 pies) de
la estación de llenado de cilindros iFill o cualquier otro cilindro de oxígeno.
18. No modique NINGUNA de las conexiones de la estación de oxígeno personal. NUNCA lubrique las conexiones. NUNCA use ningún tipo de herramienta para conectar /
desconectar el cilindro y la estación de oxígeno. Pueden ocurrir lesiones y/o daños.
19. Antes de mover o volver a colocar la estación de oxígeno personal, desconecte antes el cable de corriente CA. No hacerlo puede provocar daños a la unidad o lesiones
personales.
20. No deje caer los cilindros de oxígeno. Use las dos (2) manos cuando manipule / transporte cilindros de oxígeno. De lo contrario, pueden ocurrir lesiones o daños.
21. Los niños siempre deberán estar supervisados por un adulto cuando se encuentren cerca de la estación de oxígeno personal. No hacerlo puede provocar daños a la unidad o

fuentes electromagnéticas pueden no ser aparentes. Si se notan cambios inexplicables en el funcionamiento de este dispositivo, si está emitiendo sonidos inusuales o fuertes,
desconecte el cable de suministro eléctrico e interrumpa el uso. Comuníquese con su proveedor de atención médica domiciliaria.
3. Este dispositivo es adecuado para su uso en el hogar y en entornos de atención médica, excepto cerca del EQUIPO QUIRÚRGICO HF activo y la sala blindada de RF de un
SISTEMA ME para imágenes de resonancia magnética, donde la intensidad de las PERTURBACIONES electromagnéticas es alta.

2. Cuando transporte la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss tenga cuidado de no golpear la unidad o los conectores con obstáculos en el camino. De lo contrario, puede

preguntas, comuníquese con el proveedor del equipo DeVilbiss.
NOTA– Todas las referencias del cilindro en toda esta guía representan un cilindro de oxígeno.
Uso indicado
El sistema de llenado de cilindros de oxígeno Modelo 535D está diseñado para suministrar oxígeno presurizado para llenar cilindros de oxígeno para el uso de pacientes
ambulatorios. Este aparato está diseñado para proporcionar 93% (±3%) de oxígeno. Este aparato puede ser usado en casas, asilos, instituciones de cuidados de pacientes,
etc.
Aplicación médica
El producto de la estación personal de oxígeno DeVilbiss iFill de la serie modelo 535 permite el llenado de los cilindros de oxígeno por parte de los pacientes en sus casas. El
producto se dirige al mercado de atención domiciliaria e institucional para aquellos distribuidores/instituciones que ofrecen dispositivos de terapia de oxígeno ambulatorios. La
estación personal de oxígeno DeVilbiss iFill de la serie modelo 535 no proporciona oxígeno directamente a un paciente, se utiliza para llenar únicamente cilindros de oxígeno.
Descripción del producto
La estación personal de oxígeno DeVilbiss iFill utiliza un compresor de cabezal de doble presión para alimentar simultáneamente un sistema de generación de oxígeno por
adsorción de oscilación de presión y un intensicador de presión neumático. Está diseñada para proporcionar oxígeno suplementario para llenar cilindros portátiles para uso
ambulatorio.
Los cilindros de oxígeno se conectan a la unidad iFill con un conjunto de acoplador y boquilla para cilindros. El acoplador especíco de la aplicación ayuda a garantizar que
no se puedan conectar inadvertidamente otros cilindros al sistema iFill.
La estación iFill está diseñada para llenar varios tamaños de cilindros de oxígeno portátiles. Los cilindros están disponibles con un dispositivo de conservación de oxígeno
integrado, un regulador de ujo continuo o una válvula de poste 870 montada en la parte superior.
Un dispositivo sensor de oxígeno a bordo (DeVilbiss OSD®) monitorea el nivel de concentración de oxígeno para asegurar que se mantenga dentro de las especicaciones

PREPARACIÓN
NOTA–Antes de hacer funcionar la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss por primera vez, ubique el aparato en el lugar deseado.
Elección del lugar
ADVERTENCIA
1. La estación personal de oxígeno de DeVilbiss iFill debe estar al menos a 15 cm (6 pulg.) de las paredes, cortinas o muebles para asegurar un suciente ujo de aire.
La estación de oxígeno debe ubicarse de tal manera que evite los contaminantes del aire o humos.
2. Evite colocar la estación de oxígeno cerca de calentadores, radiadores o rejillas de salida de aire caliente. Debe mantenerse a una distancia por lo menos de 5 pies
(1.6 m) de objetos calientes o que despidan chispas ni cerca de llamas.
3. No la use dentro de un closet.
4. No la use en un área en donde el aire pudiera estar contaminado con monóxido de carbono, ya que puede acortar la vida útil de la unidad (por ejemplo, cerca de
motores que funcionan con gasolina, hornos o calentadores).
Transporte de la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss
ADVERTENCIA
NUNCA transporte la estación de oxígeno personal con un cilindro conectado a ella o guardado sobre ella, ya que pueden ocurrir lesiones o daños.
PRECAUCIÓN
Cuando transporte la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss tenga cuidado de no golpear la unidad o los conectores con obstáculos en el camino. De lo contrario,
puede provocar daños a la estación de oxígeno.
Hay tres (3) métodos para transportar la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss de manera segura (Figura 1):
1. Jale o empuje la unidad con sus ruedas pivotantes usando el asa delantera. Avance en una línea recta orientada
desde el frente a la parte posterior para evitar que se vuelque. Detenga la unidad para cambiar de dirección.
2. Cargue la unidad usando las asas delantera y trasera simultáneamente.
3. Cargue la unidad usando el asa delantera y el hueco ubicado debajo de la parte trasera de la base.

NOTA– Cada vez que la estación de oxígeno se use para llenar un cilindro, siga todos los pasos siguientes:
1. Verique la fecha de la prueba hidrostática, Figura D6 – Los cilindros de aluminio deben someterse a pruebas cada
cinco (5) años. Comuníquese con su proveedor de cuidados médicos en el hogar o con el fabricante del cilindro para

NOTA– No llene los cilindros que no han sido sometidos a pruebas en los últimos cinco (5) años. Comuníquese con su

Examen externo del cilindro de oxígeno iFill
1. Examine el exterior del cilindro en busca de las condiciones siguientes y reemplace el cilindro si existen:
a. Abolladuras o golpes
b. Quemaduras por arco eléctrico
c. Aceite o grasa
d. Cualquier otro signo de daño que pudiera calicar a un cilindro como inaceptable o inseguro para su uso.
2. Examine el cilindro en busca de evidencia de incendio o daño térmico. Las evidencias incluyen carbonizado o ampollamiento de la pintura o de otro revestimiento
protector o indicador de sensibilidad al calor. Si se encuentra algún daño térmico o por incendio, reemplace el cilindro.
3. Inspeccione el conector de llenado buscando lo siguiente:
a. Residuos, aceite o grasa
b. Signos notorios de daño
c. Signos de corrosión dentro de la válvula
d. Signos de daño por calor excesivo o incendio
llame a su proveedor de cuidados médicos en el hogar si encuentra alguna de las condiciones siguientes
FUNCIONAMIENTO
Conexión del cilindro de oxígeno iFill a la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss
ADVERTENCIA
Riesgo de incendio. No lo lubrique. No permita que la grasa o el aceite de sus manos o de otro origen se pongan en contacto con el regulador o la conexión de la válvula
del cilindro. Estos contaminantes pueden ser inamables y causar lesiones.
PELIGRO
1. No modique NINGUNA de las conexiones de la estación de oxígeno personal. NUNCA lubrique las conexiones. NUNCA use ningún tipo de herramienta para
conectar / desconectar el cilindro y la estación de oxígeno. Pueden ocurrir lesiones y/o daños.
2. No deje caer los cilindros de oxígeno. Use las dos (2) manos cuando manipule / transporte cilindros de oxígeno. De lo contrario, pueden ocurrir lesiones o daños.
3. Riesgo de choque eléctrico. No utilice un cable de alimentación dañado.
NOTA– Consulte los peligros generales y advertencias, y las advertencias de manipulación de este manual.
1. Enchufe el cable eléctrico en el tomacorriente.
2. Gire el selector rotatorio del regulador del cilindro a la posición de apagado (“OFF”). En los cilindros de la serie 535-
870, cierre la válvula.
3. Retire la tapa del conector de llenado de oxígeno. NOTA– En los cilindros 535-870, puede que sea necesario
retirar el regulador o el aparato de regulación para jar el cilindro a la estación de oxígeno iFill.
4. Coloque el cilindro sobre el soporte al tiempo que alinea el conector de niple del cilindro con el conector de llenado.
Oprima el cilindro hasta que escuche un chasquido, señal de que se ha asentado (Figura 2). NOTA– Cuando
utilice los cilindros de menor tamaño M4 o M6, es necesario colocar la tapa del conector de llenado / adaptador del
cilindro en el soporte para ayudar a sostener el cilindro. Cuando utilice los cilindros más grandes ML6, C, D o E, no
es necesario usar la tapa del conector de llenado / adaptador del cilindro y puede dejarse colgar sobre un lado.
Llenado del cilindro de oxígeno iFill
NOTA– No use el cilindro cuando se está lienando.
NOTA– Consulte los peligros generales y advertencias, y las advertencias de manipulación de este manual.
1. Verique que la estación de oxígeno personal esté conectada.
2. Verique que el cilindro esté conectado de manera segura a la estación de oxígeno. Consulte la sección Conexión del
cilindro de oxígeno iFill a la estación de oxígeno personal iFill DeVilbiss.
3. Presione el botón de inicio/parada en el panel de control (Figura 3).
4. Debe ocurrir la secuencia de eventos siguiente:
a. Se ilumina la luz (verde) “LLENANDO” mientras se llena el cilindro (consulte la tabla Tiempos de llenado del
cilindro de oxígeno iFill).
b. Cuando el cilindro está lleno, se ilumina la luz (verde) “LLENO”. Proceda a retirar el cilindro de oxígeno iFill.
NOTA– Si se enciende la luz (ROJA) “servicio requerido” y se escucha una alerta audible, proceda a la sección Guía de
detección y solución de problemas de este manual de instrucciones.

Remoción del cilindro de oxígeno iFill
ADVERTENCIA
1. No modique ninguna de las conexiones de la estación de oxígeno personal. Nunca debe lubricar las conexiones. Nunca use ningún tipo de herramienta para
conectar / desconectar el cilindro y la estación de oxígeno. De lo contrario,
pueden ocurrir lesiones severas y/o daños.
2. Tenga un cuidado extremo cuando manipule y llene un cilindro de oxígeno. Los cilindros llenos de oxígeno se encuentran a presión y pueden convertirse en un
proyectil si se dejan caer o maltratan.
NOTA– Consulte los peligros generales y advertencias, y las advertencias de manipulación de este manual.
1. Retire el cilindro de oxígeno lleno empujando hacia abajo el collarín del puerto de llenado ubicado debajo del conector
de niple del cilindro mientras usa la otra mano para sujetar el cilindro (Figura 4).
2. Levante el cilindro para retirarlo del conector de llenado. La luz verde “en espera” se encenderá después de una breve
demora.
3. El oxígeno escapará por el conector de llenado durante un período corto después de retirar el cilindro. Puede
ir acompañado de un estallido muy ligero con una ráfaga de aire. Esto es algo normal.
4. Efectúe uno (1) de los siguientes pasos:
a. Si lo desea, llene otro cilindro. Consulte la lista de vericación de funcionamiento de la estación de oxígeno
personal iFill DeVilbiss.
b. Coloque la tapa del conector de llenado.
NOTA– Siempre deberá usar la tapa del conector de llenado cuando los cilindros no se estén llenando.
Ajuste del selector rotatorio del cilindro de oxígeno iFill en el parámetro prescrito
1. En los cilindros 535-870, coloque un regulador o dispositivo de conservación en el poste 870 y abra la válvula del poste del cilindro 870.
2. Coloque la cánula nasal en el adaptador de cánula del cilindro de oxígeno iFill.
3. Coloque la cánula en su nariz y cara.
4. Gire el selector rotatorio hasta ponerlo en el parámetro de litros por minuto prescrito por su médico.
5. Respire de manera normal.
ADVERTENCIA
Cambiar el ajuste del selector giratorio afectará la dosis de oxígeno suministrada, NO modique el ajuste a menos que se lo indique el médico.
6. Para apagar el ujo de oxígeno, gire el selector rotatorio en sentido antihorario hasta la posición de apagado “OFF”. En los cilindros 535-870, cierre la válvula del poste
870.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La siguiente tabla de solución de problemas le ayudará a analizar y corregir las fallas pequeñas de funcionamiento del sistema. Si los procedimientos sugeridos no son útiles,
llame a su proveedor de cuidados médicos en el hogar DeVilbiss. No intente realizar otras tareas de mantenimiento.
ADVERTENCIA
Para evitar el riesgo de choque eléctrico, no retire el gabinete. El gabinete sólo puede ser retirado por un técnico calicado en cuidados médicos en el hogar de DeVilbiss.

No hay luces indicadoras encendidas. 1. Verique que el cable eléctrico de la estación de oxígeno personal esté enchufado de manera correcta en el
tomacorriente. Verique que el cortacorriente cerca de la entrada del cable eléctrico esté oprimido. Si aun así no se
encienden las luces indicadoras, comuníquese con su proveedor DeVilbiss.
