Please carefully read and save these instructions.
WARNING: Read all instructions and warnings carefully before starting installation. Failure to follow these
instructions may result in a possible electric shock, re hazard and will void the warranty.
Ensure the electrical supply voltage is the same as that shown on the rating plate of the heater.
Please record your model and serial numbers for future reference. These can be found on the model and serial
number label on your heater.

When using any electrical appliance, basic
precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of re, electric shock, and injury to persons.
These precautions include:
①Read all instructions before installing or using
this heater.
② Use this heater only as described in this
manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or
injury to persons.
③ This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns,
do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
④Extreme caution is necessary when any heater
is used by or near children or people with
disabilities and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
⑤Always unplug heater when not in use. Do
not operate any heater after it malfunctions.
Disconnect power and have heater inspected by
a qualified electrician before reusing.
⑥ Do not operate any heater with a damaged
cord or after it malfunctions, has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Return heater to
authorized service facility for examination or
mechanical adjustment or repair.
⑦ Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause
an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
⑧To prevent a possible fire, do not block air
intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on
soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may
become blocked.
⑨A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts
inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline,
paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
⑩This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms,
laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never
locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or
other water container
⑪To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then
remove plug from outlet.
⑫ Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/
receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or
relocatable power tap.
⑬ Do not touch the heater during operation as
the body becomes hot and could cause burns.
Particular attention has to be given where
children and vulnerable people are present.
⑭ This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
⑮ Do not allow any cables, furnishing, flammable
materials, or other items come in contact with
any surface of the heater.
⑯ The heater must not be located immediately
below a socket/outlet. The heater must not be
located in front of a socket/outlet. Sockets/
outlets should be located outside the physical
footprint of the units to minimize heat build-up
behind the heater.
WARNING: To Reduce the Risk of Fire – keep
combustible material such as furniture, papers,
clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from
the front of the heater and away from the sides
and rear.
WARNING: The heater must not be used if the
glass panel is damaged.

!NOTE: The provided mounting screws can be used for wood/stud installations. For concrete wall installations,
use the provided screws in conjunction with the provided concrete anchors. For installations on other wall
materials such as drywall (without studs) or brick ensure suitable mounting hardware is used. The installation
structure and hardware must be able to hold 5 times the weight of the heater.

Installation
Safety Information
RISK OF FIRE/EXPLOSION
• This heater should not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint or ammable liquids are used or stored.
• Installation minimum clearances specied on the heater nameplate and in the owner's manual must be
followed.
• The heater must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
1. Before installation, read this manual carefully and
keep for future reference.
2. Disconnect electric power supply before working on
circuit wiring to prevent electric shock.
3. When installing outdoors it is recommended that the
heater be positioned where it will be protected from
exposure to extreme weather such as snow and ice.
4. This heater must be grounded.
5. Electrical connection must have ground fault
protection (GFCI or GFI).
6. A circuit breaker is required for proper installation, do
not load beyond 80% capacity.
7. It is recommended that the heater be on a dedicated
circuit. The type of circuit breaker must be C curve
type.
8. The heater is designed for outdoor and indoor use
and should not be used for any other purpose. Any
other use not recommended by the manufacturer
may cause re, electric shock, or injury to persons.
9. Before commencing installation make sure the
electrical supply voltage is the same as that shown
on the rating plate of the heater.
10. The heater must be mounted per the clearances in
Figure 1 (page 8).
11. The heater is not intended for use in bathrooms,
laundry areas or similar indoor areas. Never locate
heater where it may fall into a bathtub, pool, spa, or
other water container.
12. Do not install the heater directly near a bathtub,
shower or swimming pool. Any switches or controls
must not be within reach of a person in the bathtub,
shower or swimming pool.
13. Ensure that the heater had been securely fastened in
its nal mounting position.
14. The heater can only be installed horizontally. DO
NOT install the heater vertically. Failure to do this
may cause the heating element within the tube to
sag and cause premature burnout.
WARNING: The heater must not be used if the glass
panel is damaged.
WARNING: For outdoor installation all connections
must be made in accordance with local electrical
code regulations for outdoor wiring. Contact a
qualied electrician if needed.
!NOTE: The heater is equipped with a tilting switch
as a safety feature. A non-horizontal installation will
activate the tilting switch, which will power the unit
off. To turn the heater back on after the tilting switch
has been activated, turn the power off at the power
switch, unplug the heater, verify the installation, and
turn the unit the back on.
WARNING: This heater must be grounded. The
infrared electric heating system comes equipped
with a heavy-duty, 16/3 gauge and grounded plug.
The appliance must be used with an outlet that has
been installed and grounded in accordance with
all local codes and ordinances. Make sure that the
heater is connected to an outlet having the same
conguration as plug shown as Figure 1. DO NOT
use an adapter with this product. Check with a
licensed electrician if the grounding instructions are
not understood completely or if the wall outlet does
not match the plug.

Heater Location
The DIRP electric heater produces radiant heat, which heats objects and people rather than the air. The DIRP heater
must be installed in such a way that objects and people are within the direct path of the heater.
It is recommended that the DIRP heater be installed indoors or in outdoor spaces where there are 1, 2, 3, or 4
enclosed sides.
CAUTION: When installing outdoors it is recommended the heater is positioned where it will be protected from
exposure to extreme weather such as snow and ice.
Maximum heat is directly under the heater, and the temperature decreases as you move away from the heater. It is
recommended that the heater be positioned directly above the area to be heated.

Tools required:
• #2 Philips Screwdriver • Pencil • Level
• Drill with 6 mm or 15/64" Drill Bit • Hammer • Ladder
1. Carefully select the installation site, ensuring that all minimum clearances and safety requirements have
been met. For a studded wall, the holes must be aligned with the wall framework where possible. Use a stud
nder to make sure as many holes as possible will be aligned with the wall frame/studs.
2. Position the wall-mounting bracket ush against the wall and mark the location of 1 of the mounting holes.
3. Place the level onto the top of the wall-mounting bracket. Level the wall-mounting bracket, and mark
the 2 other mounting screw locations on the wall, ensuring that the wall bracket remains level.
WARNING
• The heater must be installed on a vertical wall. The heater is equipped with a tilt switch, which will prevent
the heater from operating if it is installed on a sloped wall. The heater must only be operated in a horizontal
position with a maximum 2° slope.
• Never install the appliance on a combustible surface (plastics, nylon, carton, etc.)
• The installation structure and hardware must be able to hold 5 times the weight of the heater.
• Never install or reinstall the heater assembly using mounting holes/screws that are loose. Always ensure
the heater is rmly secured to mounting bracket and the mounting bracket is rmly secured to its mounting
surface
.
• Do not install the mounting bracket on the ceiling. Do not angle the heater toward the ceiling.
Figure 3 shows examples of correct and incorrect installations.

4. Install the mounting bracket on the wall using the 3 provided screws. For concrete wall installations, use the
provided screws in conjunction with the provided concrete anchors (Figure 4). For installations on other wall
materials such as drywall (without studs) or brick ensure suitable mounting hardware is used.
5. Position the heater on the bracket at the desired angle. The heater can be wall-mounted at a 35° or 45° angle
directed toward the ground (Figure 5). Ensure the ange on the unit is fully inserted into the slot on the bracket
(Figure 6).

6. Secure the heater to the bracket on one side using the bracket hardware (bolt and wing nut) (Figure 7).
