SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In general:
For safety reasons, the safety instructions mentioned in this user manual and the instructions on the
machine regarding operation, maintenance and repair must be observed and followed.
Operating staff:
Risks may be associated with using clover. Therefore, only trained and experienced
persons may handle and work with the machine. The operator must wear close-fitting
clothing and protective shoes.
Persons under the age of 18 may not work with the tree trimmer. However, persons over
the age of 16 can work with the woodcutter for learning purposes if supervised by a
professional.
Workplace:
To ensure safe tree splitting, it is necessary that the workplace is level and enables stability in the
work as well as sufficient free movement. All obstacles must be removed from access paths
when transporting the clover. Adequate lighting must be available at the workplace.
Work preparation:
The electric power supply must be disconnected when repairing or maintaining the clover. This is
done by removing the plug from the socket and pressing the red button. Interruption of the
electrical power supply by turning the switch to OFF is not enough!
The tree cleaver is always supplied with hardened cleaver blades. If, when using the machine,
there is minor damage to the knife edge after splitting wood containing invisible foreign elements,
e.g. out of concrete, steel, etc., it must be removed with a file or sanded off. By keeping the
cleaver sharp at all times, increases operation.
TIP: Lubricate the splitting knife with grease from time to time (for problematic wood).

9
Service and treatment
Keep the woodcutter clean at all times.
Change the hydraulic oil after approximately 500 hours of operation. Use regular hydraulic oil.
Lubricate the cleaver with grease each time the machine is to be used - this will increase the
life of the cleaver. When replacing parts on the machine, only original spare parts may be used.
Regularly check the tightness and strength of hydraulic hoses and hose connections.
WARNING! Only add oil when the clevis head
is in the engaged position.
Field of application
The machine may only be used for splitting firewood. Split material must have the following
dimensions:
• Minimum diameter: 80 mm
• Maximum diameter: 350 mm
• Only splitting wood along the grain of the wood is permitted.
• The pressed piece of wood can be released by lightly tapping the wood.
• It is forbidden to cut the split tree free!
Application
1. Start the engine by pressing the green button. WARNING! Make sure the direction of
motor rotation matches the 400 V setting! Stop the engine by pressing the red button.
2. Keep the supply cable as short as possible for the 230 V models and choose as large a
cross-section as possible.
3. When the temperature is low, allow the clover to idle for about 15 minutes before use to allow
the oil to warm to a suitable temperature.
4. Place the material to be split on the splitting table and hold it firmly using the control handles.
5. The splitting starts by pressing both handle down.
6. During splitting, the wedge usually holds the wood in the splitting position.

10
7. After splitting is complete, lift at least one handle, whereby
the splitting head will automatically rise.
8. After splitting, the wood is placed in a separate storage area.
The use of wood splitters, where two people respectively
hold the tree and another drives the splitter head
downwards, is strictly prohibited.
Height settings
The operating energy can be increased by shortening the distance of the cleaver head's backward
movement, for pieces of wood smaller than approximately 50 cm.
Proceed as follows:
Place a low piece of wood on the splitting table and lower the
splitting head to approximately 2 cm above the piece of wood.
Switch off the clover (red button on the switch and pull out the plug).
Now you can shorten the movement of the clevis head by means of
a side bound rod, by fixing the rod in the desired position using the
adjustment screw (see picture).
Electrical/hydraulic connection
Connection:
All clovers are equipped with an undervoltage solution in the contact. This prevents the machine
from starting itself if the power supply is interrupted as a result of a power cut, accidental
disconnection, faulty fuse, etc. The machine must be switched on by pressing the green button.
Deliberately holding or blocking the switch button may lead to failure automatically
power failure. In such case, which can be identified later, the warranty does not apply.
Only for 400 V machines:
The direction of engine rotation (see the arrow on the machine) must be observed, as use with the
wrong direction of rotation can damage the oil pump. In that case, all claims in connection with the
guarantee will not apply.

11
Hydraulic equipment:
Tightening must be checked at hydraulic hoses and couplings after
approximately 4 hours of operation and tightening must be carried
out if necessary.
Hydraulic oil / tank
Ordinary hydraulic oil can be used for all clovers. Oil
change is not necessary.
Transport instructions
Transportation:
All wood splitters are equipped with large wheels. To transport the mower, grasp the handle of
the mower head with one hand and the handle above the motor with the other hand and gently tilt
the mower toward you. In this position, the clover can be easily moved.
To prevent hydraulic oil leakage, the clover must never moved when it is lying down. Lower
the riving blade completely when moving the machine.
