1. PUTTING INTO OPERATION
Supervise the compressed air duct.
Use the ducts, accessories and connectors in good state and adapted to the working effective
pressure fixed by the manufacturer.
Make sure the working pressure is not superior to 6.3 bars and inferior to the recommended
pressure during the screwdriver rotation. An excessive pressure will result in an accelerated
tool damage.
Make sure that the tool exhaust is not clogged and that the tool is correctly fixed to the
suspension device if you use one.
Take into account the tool reactions while functioning and be sure to be able to contain
pressure at the end of the tightening.
Keep a safe headway so that any tool normal reaction while functionning doesn’t bound
surrounding elements and especially during the untightening.
Use the most often possible carriers or reaction bars judiciously placed.
Be careful with the risk of snapping up of clothes, hairs, etc... by the rotary spindle during the
putting into service of the tool.
Remove the hands of the tool turning part.
Make sure the assembly caracteristics correspond to the tool performances.
Do not over-charge your tool. Check and respect the power range and the recommended
working pressure.
Only use sockets and fastening accessories made to be used on machines.
2. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Your screwdriver must be used cautioustly ; do not let it fall down or make impacts on it.
It is recommended to establish a preventive maintenance programm in order to avoid
numerous repairs and to preserve the optimal performances of your tool.
Before any intervention on the tool, switch off the tool from the compressed air network. Have
your tool repaired by a qualified technician.
The use of spare parts no sold by your provider may bring a decrease of performances and
cancels all warranties towards the manufacturer.
When the noise level at the working place is superior to 85 dB(A), it is recommended to use
auditory protectors.
Tool noise level : see the luggage lable.
Do not use a portable tool in explosive atmosphere.
3. RT PNEUMAT LIMITER FUNCTIONING
The items are the one of the exploded view. The tightening torque on the screwdriver extremity
involves a reaction torque on the collar (56) of the last epicycloid reduction train which lend to
make the collar turn in the contrary sense.
A torsion spring (69) limits the angular bottoming proportionally to the output torque.
A cam system constituted of 3 balls (65) and 3 housings (71) involves the moving of the central
trigger circuit (61). The clack valve rod closes instantaneously and stops the motor by air shut-
off.The came adjusting (71) by blocking screws (79) and adjusting screws (81C) permits to
fluctuate the angular clearance amplitude, acting like this on the tightening final torque.
This type of limiter only works in the tightening sense (or untightening if it has been specified
on the order).
During a contrary rotation, the applied torque is the one corresponding to the tool maximum
capacity. The screwdrivers equipped with the RT limiter are torque control tools with a torque
adjusting system which cuts the tool power feeding as soon as the torque reaches a
preadjusted determined level (paragraph 3.15/NF 5393 ISO).

8
4. STARTING LEVER ORIENTATION WITH REGARD TO THE HEAD
Untighten the nut (54) thanks to a spanner wrench.
Adjust the set plug-motor and retighten with
moderation the blocking nut.
5. TORQUE ADJUSTMENT
Adjustment procedure :
Before any adjustment to the utilization torque, look for the position corresponding to the
minimum torque.
Let the screwdriver turn in free rotation in the tightening sense, and after having untightened
the blocking screw (79), turn the adjusting screw (81) in the negative (anti-clockwise) sense
until the screwdriver stops.
A hard soft point of the maneuver precedes this position.
Release the lever and activate once again the lever :
the screwdriver musn’t start its rotation.
Depending on the screwdriver models (LR3 to
LR7), the variation between the adjustment of
the minimum torque and of the maximum torque
can be made from 5 to 10 turns of the adjusting
screw corresponding to a sensitivity of 5 Nm/turn
to 1 Nm/turn.
The sensitivity of 5 Nm/turn is applied for the LR3 type screwdrivers whereas the sensitivity of
1 Nm/turn corresponds to LR7 type screwdrivers.
Turn the adjusting screw in the positive sense (clockwise) of half turn in half turn and activate
the lever at each face : when the screwdriver starts, the adjusting torque corresponds to the
minimum torque.
Proceed to the control of the torque value by inserting a rotary transducer between the
screwdriver and the tightening socket, in accordance with the procedure described in the 5393
ISO standard. Modify the adjustment until you obtain the desired torque. Make sure you take
up the adjusting screw clearance before tightening again the blocking screw.
We advise you to act on this screw only by successive half-turn, and to make a control after
each adjustment modification.
Do not make any adjustment on a retightening. After each intervention on the adjusting screw
(81), tighten again moderately the blocking screw.
6. ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY RECOMMENDATIONS
At each disassembly, clean and study carefully all the spare parts before to proceed to the
gears and ball bearings regreasing.
Lubricate lightly the blade housings in the moment of the motor reassembly.
Use only appropriated wrenches. Do not use vice tightening and multiple slip-joint pliers.
Warning :
The presence of a cutting kerf on a nut symbolize a threading on the left. It is recommended to
disassembly frequently the exhaust silencers and to clean them with a spray gun after having
soak them in a degreasing agent solution in order to preserve the original caracteristics of the
tool.
After each complete dismounting, it is necessary to proceed to various assembly controls.

6.1 Control of the limiter set clearance
Assemble the parts set from the item (45A).
Operate a pression on the visible part of the output spindle (49).
The axial clearance must be from 0,05 to 0,25 mm.
1. The clearance is inferior : check the ball-bearing assembly (64)
on the spindle(66),take off the adjusting block located into the item (78).
2. The clearance is superior : insert blocks within the item (78).
(adjusting block sets including one block of 0,2 mm and one block of 0,3 mm are
available under the reference 23534).
- Checking of the trigger circuit (61) stability
Insert the rod (52) in the set precedently controlled, and check if it moves when modify the
adjustment until the position corresponding to the screwdriver no-restarting ability.
The cam position is at this moment the cutoff (see the torque adjustment procedure).
Then the rod must move of some millimeters.
- Release the pression operated on the item (52).
- The rod revs up.
- Modify the adjustment in the positive sense of some turns.
- The rod must be in limit stop on the trigger circuit (61).
- Operate a moderated pressure on the rod.
- It musn’t subside.
Otherwise : retouch the limiter mounting, control the trigger circuit (61) and the needle
(57) extremity.
6.2 Control of the flap locking
Assemble the parts set constituting the motor and the plug until the item (44).
- Thanks to the rod (52), maintain the flap open.
- Conect the screwdriver to the compressed air network.
- Activate the lever.
- The motor must turn.
- Take off the rod (52).
- The motor stops instantly.
- Check that the motor stops immediatly during a new activation on the lever.
- Repeate various times the operation making sure you force back the rod
before any trial.
Otherwise : -Check the flap and its seat state.
-Check the straightness of the flap rod and that the rod slides well in the rotor.

10
6.3 Control of the flap opening
- Check that the limiter is not in cutoff position.
- Assemble the machine set without tightening the nut (54).
- Connect the screwdriver to the air network.
- Hold the machine on the vertical position, head up.
- Activate the starting lever.
- The limiter part offsets from the motor set of the value of the flap locking opening.
Measure the clearance witch corresponds to the flap opening in normal position.
- Move the rod (52) so that this clearance is included between 1 and 1,5 mm.
An inferior clearance results in a decrease of the tool performances (motor underfed).
A superior clearance increases the torque dispersion.
7. LUBRICATION
Pneumatic tools must be feeded with filtered and lubricated air.
It is recommended to install the lubricator the nearer possible of the tool especially during the
screwdriver utilisation. It is also recommended to watch over to the good functionning and to
the oil supply adapted adjustment.
After a prolonged locking, introduce by the feeding connector some crude drops or clean gas
oil drops.
- Turn the motor in manual by actionning the output spindle.
