6. Rang and Boundary Loop Monitor Display: The Range and Boundary Loop
Monitor Display(LMD) provides a visual indi ation of the status of your boundary
wire and signal range. On traditional boundary wire onfigurations, ea h number
on the s ale represents the signal range in feet. Rang = distanc th signal is
b ing broadcast from ach sid of th wir . A signifi ant hange (drop) in signal
range ould indi ate a partial wire break or other boundary wire problem. If th
boundary loop wir is brok n or th signal is int rrupt d, th light will go out
and an audibl warning will sound. You should he k around your property for a
visible wire break. Conta t your dealer for troubleshooting tips or to s hedule an
appointment.
Not : For non-traditional wire onfigurations where the boundary wires may be
lose to one another, the LMD may not measure the boundary signal a urately in
feet, but is a visual setting referen e point. Your DogWat h dealer will explain the
LMD setting and your a tual signal range.
7. Rang : The radio signal is transmitted from the boundary wire in all dire tions. The
signal range (the distan e the signal broad asts from the wire) is adjusted by the
Range Control on the transmitter. The re ommended signal range (on ea h side of
the wire) is 6-10 feet. Your DogWat h Dealer will adjust the range a ording to the
personality and traits of your dog. Consult your DogWat h Dealer before making
any adjustments yourself.
Signal Fi ld: The signal field (the area in whi h the dog’s re eiver ollar dete ts the
signal) has two areas. The outer-most part of the signal field (~13% of the signal
field) triggers an audibl warning. If your pet ontinues further into the signal field,
he will re eive a corr ction. To prevent your dog from entering the signal field and
remaining in the audible area ( ausing depletion of the battery), the re eiver
transitions from an audible warning to a short warning orre tion after a period of
15 se onds. This will not a tivate if the re eiver is set to the “Audible Only” Training
Level (Level “0” - see Setting the Receiver: page 8.)
8. Training Mod : The Training Mode Swit h allows you to hoose between two pet
friendly training options: Basic (Mode A) and QuickAl rtTM (Mode B). In the Basi
setting, your pet re eives the normal audible warning followed by a orre tion if he
ontinues into the signal field. When set to Qui kAlert (used primarily for harder to
train dogs), your pet re eives a very qui k “alert” orre tion followed by the normal
audible warning and orre tion.
NOTE: If you have multiple dogs on the system, the Training Mode setting effe ts
all re eivers. They are ALL set to the same mode, Basi or Qui kAlertTM.
9. Rat : The Rate an be adjusted to three levels (1 = slow, 2 = medium, 3 = fast).
When your dog gets a orre tion, he re eives it in a series of pulses. In reasing the
Rate delivers a greater number of pulses per se ond. The adjustable Rate feature
operates only when the Re eiver Training Level is set to Level 1, 2, or 3.
See the Receiver Levels a d Tra smitter Setti gs chart o page 9.
Not : On the ba k of the transmitter are four very small swit hes. These
swit hes set your transmitter to the orre t broad ast frequen y. Your dealer
will set these swit hes for your system.
