BEFORE GRINDING STUMPS
• Be aware of all underground utilities before grinding stump.
STARTING GRINDER
• Lock handle in the upright, operating position.
• Pull out on-off switch (located on control panel).
• Turn switch to “On” position (located on engine).
• If engine is cold move choke lever to closed position
(located on engine).
• Engage operator presence handle located on left side of
operating station by pushing handle (small diameter bar)
towards “Handle Bar Bow.”
• Pull recoil rope to start engine (located on engine).
• When engine starts — close choke.
• Press down on handle bar so that cutter wheel is off the
ground.
• Press throttle lever/bail (located on right side) towards
“Handle Bar Bow.” Engine will increase and centrifugal clutch
will engage and begin rotating cutter wheel automatically.
GRINDING STUMP
• Push grinder to stump so that the stump is located just in
front of the cutter wheel.
• Using the brake lever —lock the one wheel.
• Move throttle to full open (located on engine).
• Lower the cutter wheel slowly using a left-to-right motion to
grind the stump.
• Grind stump to desired depth.
• Reposition grinder further on stump and begin this process
again.
• Release handle to disengage.
• Allow cutter wheel to stop before resting it on ground.
: CUTTING WHEEL WILL CONTINUE
TO TURN FOR A SHORT PERIOD AFTER ENGINE IS
SHUT OFF.

READ all instructions and decals before starting!

OPERATE grinder only from operating zone!
OPERATE grinder only with handle in upright, locked position!
NEVER start grinder before checking controls and
brakes!
ALWAYS lock brake before grinding begins!
NEVER allow anyone within 75 feet while grinding!
NEVER leave grinder unattended while running!
NEVER grind anything other than stumps!
ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings!
ALWAYS position machine to protect windows and
vehicles from flying debris!
ALWAYS be prepared for emergencies by having
first-aid supplies and a fire extinguisher!
NEVER operate while guards or shields are removed!
NEVER attempt to override any safety devices!
NEVER use in bad or questionable weather!
ALWAYS shut the machine off if any unusual noise or
vibration occurs!
ALWAYS store machinery and gasoline away from the
reach of any children!
