Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für den dot-spot clarios-mini Gartenstrahler entschieden
haben! dot-spot Produkte werden nach sehr hohen Qualitätsrichtlinien entwickelt und
gefertigt. Die hohe Qualität und lange Lebensdauer der Produkte sind ein aktiver Beitrag
zur Ressourcenschonung und zum Umweltschutz.
Lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung vollständig durch, bevor Sie den Strahler verwen-
den. Bewahren Sie die Anleitung gut auf. Falls Sie den Strahler an Dritte weitergeben,
geben Sie auch die Bedienungsanleitung mit. Die Nichtbeachtung dieser Anleitung kann
zu Gefahren für Personen und Schäden an Gegenständen führen. Für Personen und
Sachschäden, die aufgrund der Nichtbeachtung dieser Bedienungsanleitung entstehen,
übernehmen wir keine Haftung.
Technische Beschreibung
clarios-mini
Der dot-spot clarios-mini ist ein kompakter Gartenstrahler mit fest eingebauter 3 W
Power-LED und Linse. Im Gartenstrahler ist ein Konverter integriert, der den direkten
Betrieb an 12 V AC/DC ermöglicht. Das Gehäuse besteht je nach Ausführung komplett
aus chlor- und salzwasserbeständigem V4A Edelstahl oder eloxiertem Aluminium. Der
Schutzgrad IP 68 ermöglicht auch den dauerhaften Einsatz unter Wasser.
Mit seiner hohen Leuchtkraft sorgt der clarios-mini für die effektvolle Beleuchtung von
Panzen und Architektur. Er ist stufenlos um 360° drehbar und um 180° schwenkbar.
Das THERMOPROTECT-System verhindert die Überhitzung des Strahlers und sorgt damit
für eine sehr hohe Lebensdauer der LED.

Sicherheitshinweise
Bei der Montage sind die jeweils gültigen Sicherheitsvorschriften zu beachten. Die
Montage darf nur durch entsprechend ausgebildete Fachkräfte erfolgen. Der Strahler
wird mit elektrischer Spannung von 12 V betrieben. Um Gefahren zu vermeiden, trennen
Sie vor allen Arbeiten am Strahler den dot-spot clarios-mini vom Stromnetz. Der Strahler
kann nicht geöffnet werden. Schließen Sie den Strahler nur an ein Netzteil an, dessen
Ausgangsspannung 12 V nicht überschreitet. Eine falsche Spannung kann den Strahler
und das Netzteil zerstören. Schließen Sie das Netzteil nur an, wenn die darauf angege-
bene elektrische Spannung mit der Spannung Ihrer Steckdose übereinstimmt.
Netzteil nicht überlasten! Die Gesamtleistung aller an das Netzteil angeschlossenen
Verbraucher sollte ca. 10 % kleiner sein, als die Nennleistung des eingesetzten Netzteils.
Um das Anschlusskabel vor Tierverbiss zu schützen, sollte es mit einem Marderschutz
(optional) versehen werden. Hohe Umgebungstemperaturen verkürzen die Lebensdau-
er der LED’s. Um eine lange Lebensdauer der LED zu gewährleisten, ist für eine gute
Wärmeableitung zu sorgen. Den Strahler daher während des Betriebes nicht Umge-
bungstemperaturen > 50°C aussetzen.
Die Dichtheit des clarios-mini ist nur gewährleistet, wenn auch der Außenmantel des
Anschlusskabels unbeschädigt und das Anschlusskabel wasserdicht verklemmt ist.
Andernfalls kann eindringende Feuchtigkeit durch den Kapillareffekt bis zur Elektronik in
der Leuchte vordringen und diese zerstören.
Vorbereitung
Packen Sie den gesamten Lieferumfang aus und überprüfen Sie den Inhalt je nach
Ausstattung auf Vollständigkeit und Unversehrtheit.
Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigtes Verpackungsmaterial entsprechend den geltenden
Vorschriften. Wenn Sie einen Transportschaden bemerken, wenden Sie sich umgehend
an den Händler, von dem Sie den Strahler bezogen haben.

1. Montage mit Montagewinkel
Zeichnen Sie ein Loch im breiten Fuß des Montagewinkels auf dem Untergrund
an. Bohren Sie ein Loch in den Untergrund und versehen Sie das Loch mit einem
passenden Dübel. Der im Lieferumfang enthaltene Dübel eignet sich für die
Montage auf Untergründen aus Beton, Stein und Mauerwerk. Bei Holzunter-
gründen kann der Montagewinkel direkt, ohne Dübel direkt mit der mitgelieferten
Schraube befestigt werden. Bei Hartholz muss ggf. vorgebohrt werden.
Platzieren Sie den Montagewinkel über dem Dübel, richten Sie ihn zur gewünsch
ten Richtung aus und schrauben Sie ihn mit der mitgelieferten Schraube fest. Nun
kann der clarios-mini am Montagewinkel befestigt werden. Stecken Sie dazu die
mitgelieferte Schraube durch das Loch im Montagewinkel und drehen Sie diese
mit einem 4 mm Innensechskant-Schlüssel seitlich in die Gewindebohrung am
Leuchtengehäuse. Richten Sie den Strahler vor dem Festdrehen in die gewünschte
Richtung aus.
2. Montage mit Erdspieß (optional)
Der als Sonderzubehör lieferbare Edelstahl-Erdspieß ist für die Befestigung auf
losen Untergründen, wie Erde, Sand, o.ä. geeignet. Befestigen Sie zuerst den Mon-
tagewinkel auf dem Erdspieß. Benutzen Sie dazu die Schraube, die mit dem
Erdspieß geliefert wird. Prüfen Sie die Festigkeit des Untergrunds und drücken Sie
den Erdspieß in den Boden. Ggf. oben ein Stück Holz auegen und mit einem
Hammer leicht einklopfen.
Montieren Sie nun den clarios-mini wie unter 1 beschrieben am Montagewinkel.
3. Verwenden des Mastadapters und der Montageverlängerungen (Sonderzubehör)
Anstelle des Montagewinkels kann auch der Mastadapter mit Montageverlänge-
rung zur Befestigung des clarios-mini verwendet werden (Abb. S. 8). Das empehlt
sich vor allem, wenn der Spot erhöht montiert werden soll. Die Montageverlänge-
rung kann unter Verwendung von passenden Dübeln mit M6 Innengewinde auf
verschiedenen Untergründen montiert werden.

dot-spot Informationen für den Betreiber
LED-Leuchten sind äußerst energiesparend und haben im normalen Betrieb eine sehr
lange Lebensdauer. Daher ist der Austausch des Leuchtmittels nicht vorgesehen. Um
die maximale Lebensdauer der LED zu gewährleisten, sollten folgende Punkte beachtet
werden:
1. Die Wärmeabfuhr von der LED darf nicht behindert werden. Decken Sie den
Strahler daher nicht ab.
2. Vermeiden Sie den Betrieb des Strahlers bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung.
3. Strahler bei Automatikbetrieb über Schaltuhr und Dämmerungsschalter steuern.
4. Reinigen Sie den Strahler von Zeit zu Zeit mit einem feuchten Tuch.
5. Die Leuchten sind je nach Ausführung aus rostfreiem V4A Stahl gefertigt. Je nach
Umgebungsbedingungen und Einbaumaterial kann dennoch auf den Metallteilen
sogenannter „Flugrost“ auftreten, dies stellt keinen Mangel dar. Der Flugrost kann
mit entsprechenden Edelstahlreinigern leicht entfernt werden.

Wenn das Gebrauchsende erreicht ist, entsorgen Sie den Strahler und alle Zubehörteile
entsprechend den geltenden Umweltvorschriften. Elektrische Abfälle dürfen nicht
zusammen mit Haushaltsabfällen entsorgt werden.
Garantiebedingungen in Deutschland
Diese Garantiebedingungen gelten seit dem 01.01.2006 / Technische Änderungen und Irrtum vorbehalten.
Diese Garantiebedingungen gelten für den Kauf und Einsatz unserer Produkte in der
Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Für das Ausland gelten die in den Verkaufs- und Lieferbe-
dingungen vereinbarten bzw. gesetzlichen Garantiebedingungen des jeweiligen Landes.
Die gesetzlichen Gewährleistungsrechte werden durch diese Garantie nicht berührt.
Diese Garantieerklärung ist eine freiwillige Leistung von uns als Hersteller.
Alle dot-spot Produkte werden vor Verlassen unseres Hauses zu 100 % geprüft und gete-
stet. Dennoch kann nicht ganz ausgeschlossen werden, dass vereinzelt Fehler während
des Betriebs auftreten.
Wir gewähren im Rahmen der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen eine Gewährleistung von
zwei Jahren ab Kaufdatum (Rechnungsbeleg). Die Gewährleistung bezieht sich auf die
einwandfreie Funktion der dot-spot Gartenstrahler und Zubehör bei bestimmungsge-
mäßem Gebrauch.
Die Gewährleistung umfasst nicht Schäden, die durch normale Abnutzung oder mecha-
nische Zerstörung durch Krafteinwirkung von außen entstanden sind.
Die Gewährleistung umfasst den Ersatz der defekten Teile. Auf den Ersatz von Folge-
schäden besteht kein Anspruch. Insbesondere auf Erstattung von Folgeschäden, die bei
unsachgemäßer Verwendung oder unsachgemäßem Einbau der Produkte entstehen,
besteht kein Anspruch. Der fachgerechte Einbau ist in der Montageanweisung beschrie-
ben. dot-spot Gartenstrahler sind für den Betrieb mit speziellen dot-spot Netzteilen
konzipiert. Bei Schäden, die durch den Betrieb mit ungeeigneten Vorschaltgeräten,
Netzteilen oder anderen Spannungsquellen entstehen, besteht kein Anspruch auf
Gewährleistung.

Technical description
clarios-mini
The dot-spot clarios-mini is a compact garden and building spot with an integrated
3 W Power LED and lens. A converter is integrated into the spot, which allows the direct
operation on 12 V AC/DC. Depending on the type, the whole cover is manufactured from
chlorine and salt water resistant 316L stainless steel or anodized aluminium. The IP 68
protection class supports also permanent underwater operations.
Due to his excellent luminosity the clarios-mini cares for an atmospheric lighting of
plants and architecture. The spot is continuously adjustable. It can be rotated through
360 degrees and swivelling through 180 degrees.
The clarios-mini is equipped with the THERMOPROTECT protective circuit, which reduces
the power to prevent overheating of the LED and thus ensures a long LED service life.

Safety precautions
Observe applicable safety regulations for installation. Installation must be performed by
a qualied electrician. The spot runs on 12 V electrical power. To avoid danger, separate
the dot-spot clarios-mini spot from the power supply before any work. The spot can not
be opened. Connect the spot only to a transformer with an output voltage of no more
than 12 V. Incorrect voltage can destroy the spot and the transformer. Connect the
transformer only if the electrical rating specied on the transformer matches your main
power socket rating.
Do not overload the power supply unit! The total output of all consumers attached to the
power supply unit should be approx. 10 % less than the power supply unit‘s rating.
To protect the connection cable from animal bites it should be equipped with a marten
protection (optional). High ambient temperatures impact the LED‘s life expectancy. In
order to ensure the LED‘s long life it is advisable to make sure of adequate heat conduc-
tion. Therefore do not run the spot in ambient temperatures > 50°C.
Tight sealing of the clarios-mini can only be guaranteed if the outer sleeve of the connec-
ting cable is undamaged and the connecting cable is clamped in a water tight manner.
Otherwise, penetrating moisture can reach and destroy the spot‘s electronics, due to the
capillary effect.
Preparation
Unpack the whole scope of delivery and check the content, which depends on the scope,
for completeness and integrity.
Dispose of any packaging material you no longer require in line with local regulations. If
you notice any transport damage, please contact immediately the dealer from whom you
purchased the spot.

1. Assembly with mounting bracket
Draw a hole on the ground through the broad foot of the mounting bracket. Drill
a hole in the ground and equip it with a suitable plug. The included plug is suitable
for mounting on substrates made of concrete, stone and masonry. For wood
surfaces, the mounting angle can be mounted directly with the supplied screw
with using the plug. In the case of hardwood it may be useful drilling a hole before
mounting.
Place the mounting bracket right over the plug, align in the desired direction and
tighten it up with the supplied screw. Now the clarios-mini can be attached to the
mounting bracket. Plug the supplied screw through the hole of the mounting
bracket and x it laterally with a 4 mm hexagon-wrench into the threaded hole on
the light housing. Adjust the spotlight before tightening into the desired direction.
2. Assembly with ground spike (optional)
The optional stainless steel spike is suitable for mounting on loose surfaces e.g.
earth, sand and others. Attach the mounting bracket on the spike rst. Use there-
fore the screw which is included with the spike. Check the rmness of the ground
and push the spike into the ground. If necessary, put a piece of wood on it and tap
it lightly with a hammer.
Now install the clarios-mini as described under 1 with the mounting bracket.
3. Using the extension adapter and installation extensions (optional)
Instead of the mounting bracket you can also use the extension adapter and
installation extensions to x the clarios-mini. This is especially recommended if you
want to mount the spot in an elevated position. The extension adapter may be
implemented using appropriate wall plugs with M6 internal thread to be mounted
on various substrates.

LED illuminants are great energy-savers and have an exceptionally long life assuming
normal use. For this reason replacing of the illuminant is not envisaged. In order to ensu-
re the maximum lifespan of the LED the following points should be observed:
1. Heat dissipation from the LED should not be impeded. Do not cover the spotlight.
2. Avoid use of the spotlight in direct sunlight.
3. In case of automated operations, use a time switch and a photoelectric switch to
control the spotlights.
4. Clean the spotlight from time to time with a damp cloth.
5. Immediately replace broken glass covers.
6. Some spot types are made of 316L stainless steel. Depending on the surrounding
temperatures and the mounting material surface rust may appear, this is no fault.
The surface rust can easily be removed with a right stainless steel cleaner.

Disposal
When the spot reaches the end of its service life, dispose of the spot and all accessories
responsibly in line with environmental protection rules. You must not dispose of electro-
nic waste as normal household waste.
Warranty conditions in Germany
These warranty conditions have been in force since 01.01.2006 / technical modications reserved, errors excepted.
These warranty conditions apply to purchasing and deployment of our products in the
Federal Republic of Germany. In all other countries, the agreed terms of sale and deli-
very and/or legal warranty requirements of the country in question apply. This warranty
does not affect your legal rights. This warranty statement is a voluntary service by us as
the manufacturer.
All dot-spot products are tested for 100 % performance before they leave our factory.
However, we cannot completely eliminate individual errors during operation.
In the scope of legal requirements, we grant a warranty of two years of date of purchase
(invoice date). This warranty covers correct working of the dot-spot recessed spot and
accessories in case of proper use.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear and or mechani-
cal wear due to application of external force.
The warranty includes replacement of defective parts. You are not entitled to claim
for consequential damage. In particular, you are not entitled to compensation for
consequential damage caused by improper use, or improper installation of the products.
Professional installation is described in the assembly instructions.
dot-spot recessed spots are designed for operation with special dot-spot power supply
units. No warranty claims will be accepted for cases of damage caused by operation with
unsuitable control gear, power supplies or other power sources.
